poor quality parts
In October 2015 I had a lot of front suspension work done to a 1999 chevy c2500 pickup. Replaced upper and lower ball joints, replaced inner and outer tie rod ends, replaced intermediate steering shaft and replaced steering box. two months ago I had to replace the steering box because it became very tight and made the truck unsafe to drive. I also had to replace an outer tie rod end. This month I noticed the intermediate shaft is in very poor condition. I believe it is in such poor condition tath the truck is unsafe and the shaft needs to be replaced. I'm going to guess there is approximately 20K miles on truck since suspension work. The truck odometer says 245k miles. the invoice says 251k miles. I've talked to two NTB service centers and each said they cant do anything for me. It seams that with sever safety nature of the problems that NTB should warranty the components.
oil filter cap damage during oil change
To whom it may concern:
I went to the NTB in Greensboro, NC on 8/21/2017 and had an oil change service. Today, 9/11/2017, I went to a Toyota dealer for a different service and was told that the oil filter cap was damaged, which was most likely from the last oil change.
Due to the damage, I have to pay $21.30 for the replacement. I cannot go to the NTB in the place since I moved out to a different state. I just wanted to reach out to your company and see if this could be reimbursed or the replacement could be done at a different NTB located where I live in currently with no charge.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
service at the kenner la store
I came in about 3 weeks ago for oil change, tire rotation and to have my tire checked that was purchased here not a year ago It was losing air.
On the day I was here they were busy with corporate people in. I asked should I come back tomorrow morning was told by April no they would get me in in about 15 min. I was in waiting room for 2 hrs got up to get a drink and saw my truck still sitting out front . I spoke with Josh and said why don't I just come back tomorrow. He assured me that I would be next . After another 2 hrs I went to check on it and it was still out front at this point I asked for my keys and said I would come back in the morning. Josh gave me his card and said ask for me . So when I came back the next day he wasn't here. Again told April I needed an oil change tire rotation and check my tire . After about 21/2 hrs I went to check she told me almost done. When it was done she asked how was I going to pay I said depends on how much ? I was here 4 hrs yesterday and 3 today and no one asked me if I wanted a credit so when ur sign says $25 off if u don't ask. She said Josh said to comp it which was very nice. I asked her about my tire and she said it was valve stem. The next week I am back I. Here for my tire losing air which they obviously didn't rotate them since it was the same one. After 21/2 hrs she said it was fixed. I asked what was it she said valve stem. I said that's what u said last week and did they rotate tires she said yes. I was out of town last weekend and came home to a almost flat tire The same one in same spot I had to put air in it this morning to get here I spike with josh and told him I don't want to be here another 3 hrs waiting for what should have been fixed the first time and I want my tires rotated. He did say he understood my frustration but it could be a number of reasons the tire is leaking and they will have to do a throughal check. I asked why didn't they do that before? He said he has lots of people with the same problem that come back several times before it is solved.
I have been doing business with this store for over 15 years when Lisa was the manager. Had absolutely not one problem. I have been here since 9 am it is now 10:30 again another hour and a half out of my day because they didn't do their job the first time.
If this tire can't be fixed then I want them to replace it with a new one these tires are less than a year old and cost over $1000.

poor service
Good afternoon, my name is nick esposito and have been going to NTB for a long time. I have had some great, and some poor experiences. The 3 previous experiences have been aweful. The first one was about 5 months ago when i needed to get my oil changed and tires rotated. The guy said "we can't rotate your tires, but i can get you new ones" My car had about 33k miles on it at the time. Tires are fine. That's called lying to get a sale. The second time was my wife dropped off her van to get inspection, they later called back saying the machine was not working. This wastes a lot of time and hassle. Don't accept the van if the machine does not work. the third was today. I dropped my my acura around 1145am for an oil change and for them to check the driver side tire for a leak. I called around 3pm to see if the car was ready. Israel said he was busy and would call me back. He called back and said my car might be ready. I'm thinking this should be enough time to get an oil change and check a tire. They had not even checked the car in. He said it would be about another 1.5 hours. Its completely aweful, not because they were busy, but i called to check on it, and he said it might be ready. Everyone who was there could not have cared less. No one apologized, no one said we can do anything for you. Israel said, " I said it MIGHT be ready". He was too lazy to even go check on it, he goes your car is in the street so i guess it's ready. the NTB in pearland 77581, tx, is around the corner from my house and is the most inconvenient place to take my car. I do not want anything for free, I'm so upset and annoyed to find another shop. I was so upset i really just wanted to let someone know. Israel has no customer service, and the people in the back who heard did not want to step in or do anything. I don't mind waiting a little bit (3.5 hours for an oil change is long enough i think) but i cannot accept poor customer service over and over and over again.
ntb tires
Hello,
In the past 2 weeks, I sent two emails to the below email address
[protected]@TBCCORP.com regarding an on-going issue with my tires that has cost me over $800, but I have yet to receive a reply. Can you advise is that the correct address? Is there a number I should call? Please help.
My email is [protected]@gmail.com, my name is Ken Stone.
poor quality replacement parts
On 6/04/17 I paid $555.24 to replace rear brakes and rotors on a 2004 Lexus RX 330. Although the discs are fine the rotor assembly part is noticeable rusty. I attached a picture. Looks like the poorest quality metal for rear brakes assembly was used. I looked at other vehicles rear disc brakes assembly and none looks this bad.

I explained what was happening and I was asked if the car had run hot and I said no. My appointment was at 10:30, I arrived on time. I was told that it would take about 20 to 30 minutes for the car to cool and then someone would come and talk with me about what they found to be wrong. At 12:04 no one had spoken to me. Texted daughter to ask her what to do. She said go and ask someone. Went to the desk, no one was there. Waited and someone came out and I asked what is wrong and why so long? About 15 minutes later someone came out and said "well we aren't sure maybe it is the thermostat, we will replace it and see and if that's not it he gave me another option that I don't remember and I was asked again, if the car ran hot? Answered no again. And my reply to the options was 'I don't like your answer'. I then asked for my car and left.
With all that was done on july 17 leases questions in my mind about what and how they supposedly did all that they said. There was a man sitting in there that I do not know that said that is a bunch of bull because they have machines that can check for the answers that he was giving you. The actions and the answers seemed suspicious to me. Additionally, when I got into the car, the red button that indicates when a car is running hot was forced all out of its normal range. The car has never run hot.
Thank you,

oil change ruined my engine
I took my car for a routine oil change and the customer service was great. They changed my oil within 30 minutes of me arriving. Fast forward a week and my oil light flashes on and goes off while I'm driving. That has never happened before, but the car breaks down in the middle of the highway. I called AAA and get it towed. They check the car and inform me that there I absolutely no oil in the car whatsoever and that they are surprised that I was even able to drive the car at all. I asked if there was a leak somewhere because I had just had the oil changed and they confirmed that there was no leak anywhere(which I knew anyway because I would have seen oil on the ground). My engine is destroyed and need to be replaced. I called the manager of the NTB, but he was helping other customers, so I'm waiting for a return call. I need for them to fix my car because this is a huge inconvenience and my only form of transportation.
time, professionalism and order of customers there
I went to the NTB in Dallas. I bought 4 new tires from them in February and I have had to bring my car back several times for the low tire pressure light coming on. I went yet again and I had to wait over 2 hours for them to look at my tires. Now mind you, people were coming in after me and getting seen and leaving before they even brought my car back. Needless to say I was appalled at this. I felt my concern for my vehicle was not as important as those coming in after me.
experience
I went to National Tire and Battery in Houston, Texas to purchase new tires for my car, let me tell you about the horrible experience. 1.The day of my visit I was there for about 3hrs waiting for them to install two new tires. Once they completed my car, I noticed they scratched two of my front rims and placed the tires on backward ( directional tires) which could have my car to aquaplane if it was raining. Bought my car back to get the tires set in the right direction, as shown on the tires. Driving back home notice vibration didn't feel like driving back and waiting another 2 hours, now this was at the Houston location on the Sam Houston Parkway! (Also the manager almost fought with customer and broken another customer oil pan on the same day) very unprofessional.
2. I purchased two new rear tires and had NTB at the another location install them, thinking this was going to be a better experience, but turns out even worst they broken two TPMS sensors on my rear tires and scratched my rear rims trying to install the tires. Went to see the manager, so happens he was never available (more stress). Now, this was at the Pearling location on Broadway street.
3. Decided to bring my car to the Beaumont location since I was visiting my family. They had to order two brand new TPMS sensor from the dealership, which caused me to drive back from Houston to Beaumont, TX which is an hour away, to have them install and rebalanced my tires because of the vibration. Which was no better still had a lot of vibration, at this point I was done with NTB never going back. If I had to recommend, please bring your car to Modica Bros. Excellent customer assistance and professionalism. Brought my car to them and everything was correctly done. They saw that tire balance was incorrectly balanced and wheel mounts were coming off. I called, customer service they sent me a $25 gift check it's going to cost me over $300 to get my wheels repaired, PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
damaged vehicles air ride suspension control system
Took vehicle in for service and mechanic damaged air ride control system. Returned to the shop to have them troubleshoot and the mechanic informed me after plugging an OBDII computer in to the vehicle and adjusting ride control settings that know one at the shop understands or is able to service this type of technology and that I would have to take the vehicle in to the Dealer. I waited 2 weeks for the store manager to return from vacation to discuss this matter and was then informed that the manager had relocated to another store. I was told to call back in a week when the new manager arrived at the store. Spoke with him Monday and requested that we start a claim. He told me he would get a back to me before the end of day and did not. Spoke with him this morning and a request for the Dealers cost of repairs itemized be emailed to him at the store. Reached out to corporate to report and expedite a claim and no answer after 20 minutes of hold time. Felt it was necessary to document my claim here. My car is in the shop awaiting parts delivery for repair and I am holding NTB accountable for damages and the repair of the vehicle. Photographs on file for review.
4 new tires
Made a 2 week advance appointment, showed up on time waited 1 1/2 hour for simple tire change, The teenage looking female employee working on my car not only did not know how to balance a tire (their excuse) she did not know how to simply take a key out the ignition, after left the location something rolled out from underneath my car and rolled away, I now have what appears to be a broken shock that makes a noise that was NOT there when I brought the car in. The rims were left with filthy fingerprints on all tires
The female in charge was completely worthless manager conveniently left the shop before I could talk to her? They did not resolve the problem nor cared Absolutely the worst tire place I have ever witnessed in my life (And I'm a senior Vietnam Vet) they offered no discount for their incompetence for not fulfilling heir job
tpms reset after new tire installation
I recently had four new tires installed by NTB National Tire and Battery in Wheaton, Illinois on Roosevelt Road. I observed shortly after that my tire sensor showed that my left front tire was low on pressure. Upon inspection, the tire was not low on air, however my left back tire had a nail and was low. Carmax did the inspection and found that the TPMS had not been reset after the new tires had been installed. The did the tire repair and reset the TPMS, which I was charged for.
I would like a full refund of $23.80 for the TPMS reset that should have been done at the time the tires were installed.

shop at stateline and 135th street in south kansas city
Went to this shop for a basic oil change. When I arrived a gave them the mileage as I checked it upon driving into the parking lot, 110% sure of that! I then left it for a couple of hours. As I drove away after the oil change, I noticed they drove it 20 + miles ! I called them to inquire about the added miles thinking maybe they drove it checking on something? They denied taking it out even though I gave them an out! Guessing they took it for a joy ride
I don't like being lied to!

tires customer service
I visited the NTB Mesquite TX store on 8.3.17 and received rude service from the Earl Bryant regarding my tire question. Was told there is no way to provide the answer to my question because it would depend on my driving. When I explained I called and spoke with an manager over the phone I was told I had a remaining tire warranty on my tires and I was welcome to come into the store for further assistance. When I explained this to the Earl and asked if he could check for me regarding my tire warranty he said again there no way to verified with a rude response and looked downwards. I am very disappointed with Earl Bryant response and believe he needs further training.
tire rotation
I purchased new tires, alignment & life time rotation from the NTB in Lee's Summit MO. I scheduled a rotation for today. I called at 3:45 to apologize because I was running 5 min late for my 4 o'clock appointment. The man who answered said he had just gotten there and was glad I called. He said he was running behind as well. I asked how long, he said it would really be best to just reschedule. I explained to him that I had left work early for this appointment & I really needed to get them rotated. That's when he told me he had 6 cars in front of me & I could come in & wait but it would be about 2 hours before they could get to me. Unacceptable! Someone should have already called me earlier if it was going to be a wait. My time is more valuable than that. I called the NTB on Wornall for a rotation & they got me right in. What are appoitments for LS?
hygiene and customer service
OMG, I don't know where to start, I'visited the NTB store located at 1407 Inwood Rd., Dallas, TX 75244 manager name is Terrel Garner.
I arrive about 6:14 PM, when I got to the store there was a young black male talking to a customer about his car and services. While I was waiting, I need to use the restroom, I went into the female restroom and found a toilet full of feces flown over. There was feces all over the toilet and the floors. It was disgusting! because I had to go so bad, I went into the males bathroom. the toilet was dirty the floors were dirty there was feces on the toilet lid, I had to go, so I choose not to touch anything, not even the sink to wash my hand. Thank God I carry hand sanitizer with me. I walked out into the service area again and I waited and waited for about 20 minutes while the same customer and the same service staff engaged in a very social conversation, not about the services he was purchasing, but about how his car was stolen what kind of car he had. it was a very social conversation while I stood there and waited for this young man whom did not even bothered to call someone else to come and help me. One staff even came in look at me and walked Away., while the other continued with his social visit. I git very aggravated And left the store to go somewhere else, at that time the young man immediately terminated his social conversation to follow me to asked if I needed anything. I was so disgusted and frustrated, I told him angrily I need nothing from him or that store. I will never return to NTB, I will never again refer anyone to NTB. I have been referring people to NTB for years because one of my sons work for NTB in the past. I would not even want my son to ever work there again, . That was a horrible experience. The worst customer service and cleanliness I have ever seeing. I went to Firestone got much better Services, who referred me to AutoZone. great customer service at both location for matter of minutes. I have always got great Services from AutoZone. I will never, ever go back or refer anyone to NTB. when I called the manager Mr. Gardner to advised him about my experience, all he had to say was oh, OK My next step is to call the health department
road hazard warranty
A year ago I purchased 4 Michelin tires (60, 000 miles warranty) at NTB along with their Road Hazard Warranty at a car mileage of 108109. Recently, one of the tires got damaged on the road and required a replacement. The technician told me that there was 6/32 tire depth left on the tire, and that the new tire is at 10/32 and it is considered worn out at 3/32. So, going by these numbers, the tire is still at 3/7th of its useful life, or 43%. If we go by the mileage, I got the new tires at 108109 miles, and came to replace the tire 120604 miles, so it only went for 12, 495 miles, or 21% of its 60, 000 miles warranty, which leaves it with 79% of its warranty life left.
However, I was given credit $35.14 for the tire with the original price of $122.99, or 29%. It seems to be that I should have been credited 79% or 43% and not 29%. However, this is how their program calculated the credit, which makes me think that this is a systematic problem with their Road Hazard Warranty product.
I just purchased this "road hazard warranty" and a policy contract was included with my invoice. In the past, I had refused this hazard because after doing the math, it was not worth the cost (I can easily repair my own nail-in-tire problem), which is the case 90% of the time. The policy indicated that NTB would prorate it up to 2/32 of an inch tire depth. In other words, the 3/32 of an inch you indicated is still within the warranty. Also, the policy fails to provide a calculation method to determine the prorate amount per each 1/32 the tire is worn, so anyone can come up with a calculation. I purchased tires for my daughter's vehicle at Kauffman Tires and the back of their invoice explains how the prorated discount works on road hazard warranty, so you can do the math yourself and help determine what you will receive for your tread depth tire replacement. There are other issues I've discovered when I went over my NTB invoice in detail, but that is another story.
battery and installation
Back on December 20, 2016, I had brought my vehicle in, because I needed a new battery. NTB diagnosed the problem and installed a new battery for me. They did a terrible job, and improperly installed the battery; it was so loose it was basically bouncing about my car. The loose battery severed the wire harness, and cost me $3600 to fix. NTB denied any of it, terrible customer service.
disappointing service and expensive repercussions
Terrible Service 7/23/2017
Hello,
I was driving home from work when my car stalled . I was able to pull into a public parking lot. I called a tow from my insurance company and my vehicle is now in front of my house.
I have been taking my car to NTB in silver spring MD for the last 6 months (most recent three oil changes). I have now been informed that my transmission fluid was low. So low that my car was not able to drive, forwards or backwards, and I now need a new transmission. My fluids were never topped off, nor checked, when I received oil changes from this NTB.
How disappointing and very inconvenient for my life to be disrupted in this way. I have no other vehicle, I must rely on public transportation or the kindness of others, and now I must come up with thousands of dollars for an issue that could have easily been avoided.
I called the store manager for the NTB in silver spring, mad and was told that he was busy and would return my phone call.
I need this issue to be addressed immediately with the installment of a new transmission on behalf of NTB or reimbursement to myself, for the installment and repair that I will pay out of pocket.
I hope to hear back from a representative very soon.
Regretfully,

I received service on Tuesday August 11th at the NTB in Capitol Heights, md. I had 2 new
tires placed on the front of my vehicle(Tan, 2010 chevy impala) as well as an oil change.
The same week, thursday August the 13, I heard a faint rattling noise but I didn’t investigate.
But the next day, friday August the 14th, the noise was definitely noticeable. I pulled over to
inspect the front tires and noticed that my hubcap had been broken. Which would explain the
irritating clanking sound while I was driving. No, I didn’t see damage when I’d briefly looked
over my tires after the completion of work, which lead me to believe someone did a temporary
fix so I wouldn’t notice. I called the NTB that friday between 7 and 7:30. I did not get the name
of the sales representative that answered. I asked to speak to the store manager. I was told
that the manager had left for the day. I then asked to speak to the next person in charge,
I assumed the assistant manager. He began to tell me that there was NO manager there at all
and to call back in the morning. A bit annoyed at this point, I told the rep alright and I got the
name of the store manager, Hubert Roxborough. I made a visit the next day, saturday August
15th, around 830 am, to speak with the store manager. I walked in and there were two
representatives helping other customers, so I waited to be addressed. I waited at the counter
for about 15 to minutes. No one acknowledged my presence. Not one “hello, welcome, or
someone will be with you shortly”. Finally the store manager comes out, and speaks to
everyone waiting(by that time 2 more people had arrived) and says he apologizes for the wait
and someone will be with us shortly. He goes in his office for a few minutes, comes out, asks
who’s next, I announce that I was next and I begin to tell him the problem. We walk outside to
my vehicle, he takes pictures, asks me a few questions. He then tells me the technician
comes in at two that day, he will then further investigate and give me a call. Well true to his
word, I got a call at 230 pm the same day. The manager tells me that the technician never
came in and he is going to proceed with ordering a new hubcap for my car and will be in touch
when it arrives. A week has passed and I have not heard back in reference to the arrival of my
part. I make another visit, August the 22nd after 4 pm. I was told that Mr. Roxborough had left
for the day. I asked to speak to the assistant manager and was told, by the assistant manager
to leave my name and number and someone would get back to me. I told him no thank you I
will try again later, and that I would like to speak with the store manager personally. The
associate(the same person I dealt with at the initial service, very pleasant young man), told me
that the manager would be back monday morning. I called monday morning, he was not there
so I had to speak with the assistant manager, Jason Creeden. He got my information, went
into the system and informed me that their were no notes about a part being ordered for my
vehicle. He said that the store manager, Mr.Roxborough, is usually good about these types of
things. Mr.Creedon proceeds to ask a few more questions, tells me he will look to see if they
have an existing part in their store and he will call me back in 15 minutes. I NEVER got a
return phone call. At this point I am beyond agitated. I have called multiple times, I have made
multiple visits. There has been NO action on anyone’s part to resolve this issue. I came in for
a simple oil change and tire replacements and now have to deal with insensitivity and
unprofessionalism. It takes no more than two days for a part to be delivered and I am but a
phone call away. I never argued nor did I raise my voice. All I asked was that my property, that
had been damaged by an NTB employee, be replaced. Along with informing you, NTB, of this
matter I will also be contacting the better business bureau.
Update: I received a new hubcap, after my fourth visit to the NTB in capitol heights, md.
FYI, I have a second complaint with this complaint board, on July 22 2017, for a more recent issue, My transmission failure due to lack of fluid check.
