North Haven Construction review: Tub/surround 1

Hired Lucas Provenzano on October 22nd to replace a tub and shower surround at a cost of $2650. He had just sold or folded 'Bath Solutions of Algoma' and started up under a new company name 'North Haven Construction'. Lucas assured me that the job would be done in 3-4 days. That was apparently just a lie to get the down payment. What came next was unreal!

Basically, just endless delays and excuses, used matierial and very poor quality work. His 'tear out guy' was sick, he was sick, his plumber was sick, his plumber was then fired because of delays and leaving the bathroom a disaster, set etc. When it was all done, he demanded full payment for a job he never finished and I had to hire another contractor to finish and fix Lucas’s work. I had assumed I would lose November’s rent, but would never have guessed come December 18th, his 3-4 day job would still not be done, and what was done, some needed to be removed and replaced. He was a close friend of a family member. Yes, you heard that right!
As this was a rental I kept reinforcing that the delays were costing me rent each month that went by. Ended up telling me he was done the job on December 18th. Left the place filthy, no trim work done, tiles he installed were used, installed and grouted wrong, and needed to be removed and replaced properly (see pictures).
It was my fault for not doing my homework from the beginning. If you Google 'Lucas Provenzano complaints' you will find more stories from others and complaints in the Better Business Bureau all under his name but with his old company 'Bath Solutions of Algoma'. He told me he had folded his business due to high franchise fees. After seeing his work and the complaints, I suspect it was because he got a bad name and it's easier to just fold and start a new company. Either way, his work speaks for its self.
