Ninedresses.com Worst Customer Service Ever!

Like another complainant for ninedresses.com, I also did some research beforehand about this site and did not find any negative reviews. Now that I have had my own problems with them, I have seen a few negative reviews cropping up as well, and am guessing that we all experienced a period of poor management.

What happened to me was that I was all set to order a bridesmaids dress from the website. The day I went to put the order in, the website was down and said I had to login. So I contacted their customer service and they created a login for me and I put the order in. They have three methods of payment: credit card, paypal, and wire transfer. I clicked on the credit card option, and then 'continue' which should have theoretically taken me to the part where I put in my credit card information.

Instead, the website had a message at the top that said, "PayPal gateway has rejected request. Account is restricted (#10002: Restricted account)". So I went back to the payment method screen and tried the PayPal button. Again, the screen brought up the same message. So I contacted customer service again, explaining that those methods did not work. The customer service representative told me that PayPal as a company sometimes rejects certain people's credit cards, but that the problem is with PayPal and my card, not them. I explained to the rep. that I had never put in any of my information, so it had nothing to do with my credit card or PayPal account. The rep. responded by saying that I can do a wire transfer. So I tried that because I was nervous about getting the dress in time for the upcoming wedding. The wire transfer button worked in that it said my order was sent in, and that I needed to contact them by email again to find out the directions for sending the money.

Their email directions told me their bank account info, which was for an account labeled "Deng Min" in Hong Kong, which is an individual's name, not a company's name. So I was suspicious and looked up online to see if this was a scam. At that point in time, no one had complained about this, so I went ahead and went to my bank to send the money. As it turns out, Wells Fargo has a straight fee for wire transfer out of the country- $35. But because ninedresses.com only accepts the payment in USD, Wells Fargo then ups the price to $45 for sending in US Dollars.

So I go ahead with that because I needed to get the order finalized, but then run home to write an email to the rep. explaining that I don't think I should have to pay for that fee, since I have working credit cards and a working PayPal account that I could have done for free if their website were working correctly. Again, the rep. said that PayPal rejected my personal information and that it's PayPal's fault, not theirs. So I send them screen shots of the rejected access messages, and give them a detailed step by step account of what happens when you click the payment buttons to show them that it's their own website's problem, not mine. I never got a response back about my complaint (up until this point, the rep. had emailed me on a daily basis), so I emailed again and asked to speak with a manager or supervisor. The rep. then replied and said that they hadn't received the payment yet, so they would contact me when they got it. However, she said that they couldn't refund the wire transfer fee because I could have just used my credit card or PayPal! So clearly they were not understanding or else denying my screenshots of the problem, because that was not the issue. I replied again, re-explaining why I couldn't use those methods, and asked for the manager to call me as soon as possible and left my number.

They never called or emailed back about this. So on day 3 of the wire transfer period, I found out the bride-to-be changed her mind about colors of dresses, so I decided to just cancel the order because it wasn't worth all the hassle. I emailed them that I wanted to cancel and that I just wanted them to refund the cost of the dress, not the wire transfer fee because that clearly wasn't getting through to their heads. The rep. responded by saying I shouldn't cancel because then I'll have to pay their wire transfer fees as well to send it back. I told them that's completely unacceptable, especially considering it's not my fault that I had to use wire transfer to begin with! I told them to refund the payment into my PayPal account, which is active and working, and gave them my information. No response.

The next day, I got a call from my banker who said the wire transfer I had sent was rejected, so the money would come back to me, which I was glad about. But when I checked, it turns out they didn't simply reject the full amount, they deducted the costs of their own wire transfer to me, some $28 or so. So again, I emailed customer service asking why they did that when I sent them emails about my PayPal account, which is FREE and their own mistakes in not allowing me to pay via free methods. Since then, I have not gotten any responses back.

I'm not sure what is going on over there. I don't think the website is a scam, but from others' reviews, they mess up dress measurements, inaccurately advertise what the dresses will look like, and in my case, provided the worst customer service I've ever encountered. It's a time consuming headache that got me nowhere but a loss of $78 for wire transfer fees with no follow up to why that happened, no apologies, and at this point, no responses to my request to speak with a supervisor/manager about the issue. I would highly recommend that you do not use this site.

You certainly are composed considering the raw shafting you got. If it was me, I would probably go over to the bride's house and pull her hair out.

Ninedresses.com They definitely aren't committed to customer satisfaction

I too have an issue with this company. First let me start by saying I checked reviews for the site and at the time of my order I couldn't find any negative reviews, now I'm finding a few...so I'm starting to wonder if something changed with management or the dress makers there.

I'm always nervous about having a dress made by a company that's not local, but after speaking to one of the "live assistants" and being reassured that if the dress is not made properly or the color wasn't what I was expecting I would be given the steps to get a refund if I contact them WITHIN THREE DAYS after receiving the dress. I contacted them day ONE and TWO. I ordered a dress a few weeks ago, putting a ready by date I realized was too far away, and a representative was kind enough to move the dress date up. The dress actually came pretty quickly (earlier than the revised date) which was impressive. My excitement wore off quickly after opening the package to see a dress that was A LOT DARKER than the color I ordered. Instead of Champagne color, it's Taupe. The top part was WAY smaller than the measurements I gave them and the bottom was big and didn't look anything like the dress in the picture. I'm a bride and this dress looked like a dress the mother of a bride would wear. I'm at a loss now because I do not have the money to buy another dress and they refuse to give me a refund because it was made measurement specific (lie).

This dress is NOT WHAT I ORDERED. The color is way off, the style is way off. The measurements I gave them are the measurements I was given by a tailor who designed a dress for my Birthday. The measurements were actually slightly bigger than my size so there can be room for me to dance. This was a total waste and I am so disappointed that this turned out this way. At least if the measurements were normal, I could find some other use for it, but no one I know has a body with the top of a 5 year old and bottom of a 25 year old. I cant even get my arms in the dress because the straps make no sense the way they were made.

Ninedresses.com is not active, the site has been down for the past two days and there's no telephone number, only an email address and the person who responded to my email said they cant do anything about it. I was even asked for photos, but what difference would me showing a picture of a dress they made make? I cannot fit into the dress and I'm not going to show a picture of me with no top on trying to put on a dress that's too small to cover up my chest area. The website says to check order information, but you cannot even sign in to check order or account, it just refreshes the home screen. I feel so stupid for referring this site to friends and having to tell them my experience. Glad they listened to me. I'm a blogger, in addition to writing for two papers and online media. I will make sure I share this information with anyone interested, because when a company offers to make dresses based on measurements, it should actually be the measurements given to them. At least If it was made to the measurements I gave them, I wouldn't be upset because then it would be my fault...but there is NO WAY THIS DRESS WAS MADE using the measurements I gave them. I even had my sister try on the dress last night after we saw the way it fit me. She's two sizes smaller than me and couldn't even get into it. I don't know what they were thinking when they measured it but I am not happy and I agree with the above poster. They definitely aren't committed to customer satisfaction! Now I'm feeling stressed and angry, this is my big day and I have nothing to wear.

Ninedresses.com This is a wedding dress/prom dress site based in China

This is a wedding dress/prom dress site based in China. I ordered a prom dress for my daughter. We submitted her measurements, even adding extra inches to her height to insure that the dress would be the right length in heals. Not only is the dress that arrived too short even w/out shoes, the overall fit is off and the embellishment looks tacky. These people will not work with you at all! You have no recourse. Do not buy from them unless you enjoy throwing your money away. Your dress will not look like the images they post on their website. Remember...if it seems too go to be true, don't fall for it!

Stay away from ninedresses.com!

I am now experiencing a nightmare with this company. The question I have it; where are the dresses that they advertize? I have seen a few that look just lovely, but I am unable to locate where they came from and I am sure that they do not belong to ninedresses...my guess is they create knock-offs.

I also had a bad experience with NineDresses that has cost me over $600! I ordered one bridesmaid dress from the NineDresses.com site as I wanted to check the quality of their product before purchasing all 4 dresses. The first dress that arrived matched the colour that I had selected and I was fairly impressed with the quailty... I then proceeded to order the other 3 dresses in exactly the same style and colour and what arrived was VERY different. The dresses were made in cheap tacky fabric, there was massive colour disparity, the 'custom made measurements' were way off and the general craftmanship was quick, cheap and nasty! What followed was many emails (at least over 10!) back and forth from their customer service team that did nothing but repeat themselves telling me to keep the dresses because 'it would cost us both too much time and energy' if I was to return the dresses for a refund. Instead the offered me coupons! (because I would defiantly be purchasing from them again... what the hell!?) To make it even worse, although they had adverstised that payment could be made using paypal, once I had gone to the trouble of ordering colour sample (which I paid for) and entering all the girls custom measurements, paypal was 'currently unavailiable'. So regretiably I paid by credit card... DO NOT BUY FROM NINEDRESSES.COM! They will only leave you feeling disappointed and cheated.

The attached picture is the refund policy on the ninedresses.com website! It clearly mentions size and fitting issues and color issues as reasons refunds will be granted. But, they won't give me a refund? Why?

I 100% agree with the first comment. Absolute scam! Do Not order from this site. I ordered a maid of honor dress for my sisters wedding. When it arrived there were a few problems. 1. The color was different than I expected 2. The embellishments are so tacky and cheap looking it would be embarrassing to wear in public. 3. Most importantly, the dress had a major flaw with how the dress was sewn. I emailed customer service with the photos they requested a number if times...they do not have a phone number. I keep getting a response that I look good in the dress and they are sorry I'm unsatisfied. They offered me $10 back and now it's up to $42. I cannot wear the dress so that does not cover the expense of a flawed garment that has been back in the box in my car waiting for a return slip for weeks. I purchased from this site based on positive reviews but DO NOT. It is obvious they don't intend on keeping their commitment to guaranteed customer satisfaction. Extremely disappointed!

don't know how the problem happened. Based on my experience, they would make a fit dress with correct measurements.
Im not someone working there just a customer. Have bought three dresses from ninedresses.com.I just don't know why people say it is a bad supplier. The girls on customer service team are all very sweet, they called me several times to confirm my measurements.bridesmaid dresses are very comfortable to wear, and solid built. One of the dresses is a little loose, they suggested to alter it a little bit which is also an easy job.And they also gave me a coupon worth 10 dollars to show their apology. What can i say? just satisfied with the dresses and the service. that's all i can say.
