Nevada State Bank On-line banking

I've been banking with nevada state bank (lower case intended) for almost 14 years. Currently looking for another bank.

Sending a check via on-line banking has become a real problem. An example is this month on the 9 th. I requested a check be sent. The check was dated the 16 th, online, and there was a debit on my account. It is currently the 21 st and the check has not arrived at the payee.

This is typical, it happens every time.

Two weeks to deliver an online check! A while back I called customer service and they blamed the delay on the Post Office and said the checks go out the same day requested. I don't even believe this a little bit. Lost trust in the bank.

Maybe the bank has financial problems and needs to use the "float" .

Makes me look like a dead beat.

This is an ongoing problem.

Nevada State Bank Cashiers cheque

I have been issued a cashier's cheque from a deceased estate of my late mother. I live in south africa where cheques are no longer accepted. I have sent the cheque back to the lawyer who is handling everything. The cheque is in my name. The bank says they cannot help as the account has been closed since issuing the cheque. I can not fly and sort it out as there is a long waiting list for a visa. Is it possible to let the lawyer cash the cheque at the issuing bank with my consent as between the two they have all the necessary documentation for proof of who I am?

Nevada State Bank Holding ach deposits to gain fees from consumers

I am writing to express my deep concern and disappointment regarding the unethical business practices of Nevada State Bank and Zion Bank in the Las Vegas Valley. It has come to my attention that these banks are intentionally holding deposits in order to overdraft accounts and charge excessive fees, which is a clear violation of consumer protection laws and a breach of trust.

As you may be aware, the law clearly states that banks must act in the best interest of their customers and cannot engage in deceptive or unfair practices. There have been numerous legal cases where banks have been held accountable for these types of actions, including the case of Wells Fargo, which was fined $185 million for opening unauthorized accounts and charging fees.

It is particularly concerning that these practices are impacting the Greater Las Vegas Academy, which serves children in the Las Vegas Valley. It is unacceptable that money intended for education is being siphoned off through these predatory banking practices. This type of behavior is not only illegal, but it is also immoral and goes against the principles of social responsibility.

I urge you to take swift action to investigate these practices and hold Nevada State Bank and Zion Bank accountable for their actions. We cannot allow financial institutions to take advantage of consumers, particularly those who are working hard to provide quality education to our children.

Desired outcome: Fess returned and deposit money owed

Nevada State Bank Bank manager

My dad's bank is Nevada State Bank he had a account for about 20 something years. And a couple of years ago my dad had gotten diagnosed with advance stage of Dementia. AND I his daughter had to grow up and start to pay his or our bills. And as the disease got worse I found myself doing everything he use to do. Well on his bank statement whenever I found something I didn't do. I always called and if we didn't get or we were charge for a item we did get or do, I filed a dispute and thankfully ALWAYS GOT IT BACK. Ok on 5/31/2022 I noticed 2 charges that definitely we did not do. I was told I had to file charges with the FBI. So I did. But when I went into the bank the bank manager, which is the one who open the account. He did nothing but loudly was telling me in front of all the customers that they were going to shut my dad's account down because I had so many disputes and fraugulant charges on his account. He accused me of possible giving my dad's bank card out to all my friends and then they were making these charges and that I was calling the bank and disputing the charges. Man when I was in the lobby he had me crying like I never cried before. I could not believe what this man was doing to me. And I kept saying I'm doing everything I need to do for my dad, and that was paying our bills. This man was putting me down so bad in front of EVERYBODY. I left there balling my eyes out. Is have never in my 62 years of my life ever been treated so wrongly. I was so sick after the way he treated me. Well he threaten my buy telling me they could close my dad's account because of all the disputes I had made. But every dispute I ever made was completed and my dad always won. Well the next day on 06/02/2022 I called the bank to get his balance cuz it was time to pay some bills. Come to find out he closed my dad's account. And OMG now I am really sick over this. I've done nothing wrong at all. How can a manager yell and accuse me of things I never did. This man does not belong working in a bank. And as a manager. What a joke. They had no right closing my dad's account.

Desired outcome: Please can someone help us. He also threatened me that if I ever call the bank for any reason he will have my dad's account closed. Well he did . This is not right. I have done NOTHING WRONG AT ALL OR EVER TO THIS ACCOUNT.

Well here I am again. This is about the bank manager Joerge Perez at lake Mead and nellis . This man should be fired. Because of the way he treated me. In the lobby not in his office. I wrote a complaint and nothing has been done yet. I'm wondering how long does it take to resolve complaints with this bank. And now that he closed my dad's bank account I'm finding it impossible to open another account because of him making my dad's account look real bad. I'm not done with yet. You will get what u deserve

. Hopefully out of a job. Because of the way u treated me. And how wrong u are. I can't believe they hired u to work for them.

Nevada State Bank Checking Account

In the process of cancelling my checking account. I stopped automatic debt transactions on my account and left a $ 0.01 balance on the account to ensure no charges would be authorized for payment, because the teller told me, "You have to have inactive on your account for at least 30 days". I found this strange but accepted this illogical statement. However, NSB authorized a transaction on the account for which I did not authorize for approximately $150.00. A month and half later I receive forwarded mail from NSB saying I owe $345.00 which includes the unauthorized transaction of $150.000 and about $190.00 of NSF and service charges. This is devastating as I am presently unemployed, and heartbreak that a bank would treat a Veteran after I have demonstrated their fault in approving the transition that now has caused me to owe this bank $345.00.

Desired outcome: I would like NSB to waive all of the NSF charges. I would gladly pay the unauthorized charge as the vendor did receive the payment from this account.

Nevada State Bank NSF fees, untimely posting of debits and credits, helping resolve cancelations, double payments and ghost electronic payments.

It just seems to me that I can never get a handle on this checking account. On the first of February I scheduled a PMT in paper check form. through NSB's nline bill pay feature. that same day I realized that the check would not be on time to my creditor. Immediately I payed that same bill on my creditor's website. I attempted to cancel the paper check but it seems it was already "in process" I phoned NSB's online bill pay dept and asked to cancel the check, that it was a double payment and please assist me in canceling the check. I was told it was in process and that there was nothing they could do. I phoned the creditor and explained to them to please not process the check when it arrives. They acknowledged the two payments and assured me that they would not process the paper check. The whole month of February I was seeking assistance, in branch and over the phone with both institutions regarding the check (payer/payee) NSB was of no assistance in canceling the check, by the way the check amount was $339.30

Incidently the check, three weeks later was processed by my creditors, they thought it was the next month's Pmt, it had taken that long. Needles to say, the check started being returned, credited to my account, then sent back out incurring several NSF fees and negative many other transactions to my account.

I kept depositing money to the account to cover all transactions but it's been a constant flow insufficient funds and fees since. I believe this is all being done with calculated purpose and that the customer service staff at NSB has been instructed to not be of assistance in these matters. Some are very apologetic, some are very rude and most are just as confused and baffled as I am, at the appearance and manner of the way my transactions, postings,, have been manipulated unfairly and with intent.

I could have a $1000 balance and three $30 checks out for payment and none of them would get paid. Due to the swirling tornado of unethical, unfair activitie and BS manner this bank operates.

I have too many insurances to list. Many, many more.

I have filed a formal complaint and awaiting my next move.

Desired outcome: Total refunds to all the damage this has created. I am incurring late fees from my creditors and this has also caused damage to my credit report.

Nevada State Bank Sharing banking information

I closed my account years ago while I was in the military, when i was deployed, i found out the manager of the Tonopah branch was sharing my banking information with my sister- inlaw, because they are friends. Now i find out that the same manager is doing the same with my mothers account. Her name is PAM DUN. Im sure this isnt the company's policy. She needs to stop before I report to the FDIC.

Nevada State Bank personal banking

I live in Nevada. I have been with Nevada state bank for 4 years now, and so has my 20 yr old daughter. Our accounts are linked but hers is in her name and mine is in mine. So they are separate. First incident with my account was back in July. I paid rent through Wells Fargo. They no longer accepted cash without having an account their. So I went to my bank and got a personal counter check and mailed it off. A week later my landlord calls saying I had insufficient funds. I look online and the money is still sitting there . So I go to my local branch. They looked, printed out my statement showing the money in there . They had me call the online banking number and put a case in. So I did . He helped me set up a bill pay and said it would automatically come right out into theirs. Again my landlord calls and says her bank wouldn't take it. 2 months later 4 checks and bill pays later I go to my local branch and buy a cashiers check. The teller tells me someone put in the wrong numbers for my account . So I didn't have check or bill pay ability's. 2 months later and late fees later a teller figures it out! 2nd incident I went in a Saturday and deposited cash and a payroll check. The atm takes the cash and spit the check back out. My receipt shows the money I put in and so does my online account. 2 days later my deposit is gone? Nowhere in my statement, my account is now more than $30 overdrawn. Do I call my branch. They tell me I couldn't of made a deposit their machines were correct with money . I tell her ya because it was in my account for 2 days now. Take my receipt down and show them. They copy it and tell me I have to file a complaint over the phone . So I do. The lady in the phone can see the deposit for $780 . But it will take 10 days before they make a descision on it. So I call the next 2 days the local branch and the 800 number. They basically told me not to use their smart ATM. It wasn't their fault and needed to be investigated. Mind you over draft fees are incurring. Oh but they will pay any fees if it was their fault. So 10 days later and over $350 in late fees I get my money back. I did not pay the fees and wasn't going to. So they tahr it upon them selves to take the money out of my daughters account putting her at $00. And closing her account. Nowhere in any call or letter did they state that! So now I am finally done with Nevada state bank and am seeking legal counsel. It's okay if they keep my money from me causing overages. But not okay when I don't pay those fees incurred by then? Not very good standards for a place that's supposed to keep our money safe I would say.

Nevada State Bank promises broken

I closed my NSB account in March 2018 after being a customer for over 20 years. PayPal tried to withdraw $7.99 from the closed account. Without my knowledge or permission the bank "opened my account" and charged me with Non Sufficent Funds. PayPal sent me a e-mail indicating the withdrawl was a mistake. Since then the NSB has only been giving me the "runaround" after taking $50.98 in April. Teresa the bank manager has told me "the checks in the mail" and she's checking into it. Nothing but LAME EXCUSES!

Nevada State Bank Customer service, unethical practices, incompetent personnel

This bank decided to close my elderly mother's account without notice three days before her automatic deposit for her social security check was to go through. This left her to scramble to make sure her check would be routed to a financial institution so she can afford to eat and pay Herr power bill which was past due already. When she called for assistance they were either incompetent and passed her around in circles to multiple unhelpful people, or else they were accusatory, treating her, THEIR CUSTOMER, as if she deserved this treatment. I'm sorry but NOBODY deserves that treatment, and too put her through that was unnecessarily cruel and demeaning. Nevada state bank is everything wrong with our world today as far add some big business and unethical business practices go, in my opinion. Steer clear. I personal have never had issues with Bank of America or Wells Fargo that wasn't resolved logically and with customer service that was professional and fair. Also my mother retired from working at Nevada State Bank, but that didn't earn her any respect or acknowledgement whatsoever. NE V A D A STATE BANK... BUYER BEWARE.

Just an apology for my comment's grammar errors. I wrote this on my phone, which is of course known for making unfortunate spell check corrections, and I felt too frustrated and furious to proofread before posting. I should add that they closed her account on a Saturday, without notifying her, and for no apparent reason other than that she had a $0 balance in it at the time, as she had just used her debit card for groceries. She will be gladly doing business with Bank of America from now on, they have already treated her with welcome arms. AS EVERY BUSINESS SHOULD TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS YES EVEN THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE A LOT OF MONEY. I feel furious over how they treated her. NEVADA STATE BANK gets away with murder.

Nevada State Bank Rude bank

I had ordered checks that did not come. Apparently they sent my checks to my old address that I haven't been there in over 8 months . They had all current information when we moved. So how does checks get sent to old address when everything was changed? Incompetence! Then I go personally into fernley branch bank to tell them what going on. I proceed to walk up to an older lady sitting at new accounts desk. When I did this she proceeded to put her hand up at me and roll her eyes as if I was bothering her. How unprofessional ! And rude! I then turned around and she realized how she was being and said can I help you? I turned away and said no, sorry to bother you. Went up to a teller who was helpful. Had to cancel checks and order new ones. I was out of checks and had to wait even longer. Some of the older ladies that work there are straight rude like they hate their jobs...

Nevada State Bank Abusive Fees

Linda the branch manager at The Lakes, is the WORST manager I have ever had to deal with in any bank anywhere. What a difference with the classy, polite and kind account manager at Chase. This Linda is rude and arrogant. Her attitude is so despicable and so pretentious that I hope it's only her and not a trademark at NSB. This is the type of staff that banks get into trouble for abusive fees, because of their manager's abusive practices and poor judgment. My account would have been overdraft by 5 bucks or so, but she rather return a $40 check that was "posted" 3 days earlier, then charge my account for $32 returned fee, plus another $5 OVD fee, plus charge my monthly $10 fee. I called her and mentioned that it would have been easier and more professional to have someone from the bank give me a call so I can take care of this matter immediately, or, at worse, charge me $5 per day that the account is OVD. Their policy allows accounts 7 days of OVD status. Instead, she abusively manipulated my account to apply the fees. And there is no talking sense into her. She is obnoxious, pretentious. She speaks over you, before you even finish your sentence, and try to outsmart you with her ironic tone saying : "If you had money, you wouldn't be in this trouble". If I had money Linda, YOU would be kissing my a** to keep me as your customer. And she talks like I was born last night, saying that is every bank policy, blablabla... insulting my intelligence because I know as everyone else, that many banks have courtesy calls or even text messages alerts. Go by YOUR book, Linda...And I say YOUR book, because I know for a fact that other branches are way more understanding. Other banks have employees that actually "work", and don't sit on their fat ### all day staring at their computer, being "with a client" every time you try to get them on the phone. They care for their customers. They do not discriminate or change policy depending on who you are and how much money you have in your account. It's called CUSTOMER SERVICE. As a small business, I recommend to everyone who's planning to open an account with NSB to think twice. There are much better banks out there. Don't waste your time with ###s. Why don't I close the account? because I have monthly ACH's coming in, 300 checks left, etc... plus I am not wrong. Just dealing with idiots. Next time something goes wrong for you Linda, based on someone else's intolerance such as yours, remember me. Karma doesn't forget.

Nevada State Bank Unfair holds on small checks

I have banked at NSB for 8 years and never had a customer's check bounced. never. This bank is NOT SMALL BUSINESS FRIENDLY. You better have a lot of money to bank there, in which case they kiss your butts, but if you are a struggling business, they make your life miserable. They constantly put holds on checks, local or not, up to 7 business days for a $1, 000 check. SEVEN, that's more than ten days counting the weekend in between. Everyone who owns a small business and struggle to make a living knows how much we depend on getting our money fast. But NSB couldn't care less. They hold the check for SEVEN DAYS supposedly because of 6 overdrafts in 6 months, 1 a month... A check takes 3 days max. to clear... even sooner if they call to verify funds. So their policy is bs and discriminatory. The less money you have or make, the more they bury you. Stay away from that bank or be prepared to count on your savings and friends when you expect YOUR money to pay your bills because NEVADA STATE BANK won't give a damn if holding your check puts you in trouble. DO NOT BANK AT NSB OR YOU WILL BE SORRY

I have decided to remove the comment I wrote about this bank (apparently I cannot), because I finally got their attention and my issue was "somewhat" resolved.. It took a lot of calls though all the way up to the District branch manager to get this done. Even though the District manager promised me a call, she didn't call me and had the branch manager called me. One thing that didn't change is the fact that it all depends of the branch manager's decision on how your account is handled. Depending on the manager, you will get hit with all kinds of holds and fees or not. This practice makes it impossible to predict what's going to happen next with the new manager on the block. In my 8 years with NSB, it's been more of being hit than not. One thing that is obvious is the apologetic attitude and language from the corporate staff versus the unapologetic and condescending attitude from the local branch management. ..It is hard also to know who to believe at NSB. The corporate staff says one thing and the branch another. Why do you stay with such bank then? ...may be your question. Well, it took time but I finally decided to move on and give their competition a try. I may be a thorn out of their foot but my 8 years migraine is gone.

This bank is horrible for placing holds on obviously good and secure checks. It is definitely up to the branch manager to decide to place holds on checks or not. Even if you’ve never had any reclamations (returned check deposits), they will place a hold if you’ve had any overdrafts or you don’t keep a lot of cash in their institution. As soon as all my [censored] holds are cleared I’m moving all my funds out of this god forsaken bank. If you’re a small business, I would not bank there as they are not friendly to you and couldn’t give a damn. I bank at the South Carson Street branch which was ok until they switched out the branch manager. The new management is a disaster, and the staff are horrible. I even had one teller admit that they had several class action lawsuit settlement checks come through and not everyone had holds placed on them. If you have money rotting away in their accounts, you may get preferable treatment. So long NSB. You’ve just lost another customer. I hope more people leave your rotten institution after they get sick and tired of holding their money hostage.

Nevada State Bank KATHLEEN GALEA

On April 15th I used a drive through ATM at Nevada state bank at Boulder Hwy and Racetrack branch in Henderson. I was using my Debit card issued by my Canadaian bank ..Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. I attempted to withdraw $400.00 USD. The machine sounded like it was counting out the money and then it malfunctioned and gave me an on screen msg "unable to dispense". I checked my balance of my canadian account and saw they debited my account but did not give me the money. I called the appropriate department and was advised that upon balancing the atm they would see that they were over and would return the money to my account promptly but i should advise my financial institution and have them file a "dispute" just in case. I have spoken to a Mr. Don Bell at [protected] who i am told is a supervisor for their atm department. After many calls and promises that he would call me back and has not on numerous occasions Mr. Bell advises me on each call i have made that they have not received the "dispute" from my bank. This has been going on since April 15th, 2011 and i have received nothing from Nevada State to rectify the problem. Today I again called and they say they still have not received the "dispute" again i call my canadian bank and they say they have received no reponse from Nevada State and they will keep the dispute open for a total of 3 months then it will be closed and i will have to persue Nevada state in some other manner. I informed Mr.Don Bell today that there is no dispute that the atm did NOT dispense the money and there would be a record of that when they reconciled the atm and saw the error messages from that atm. I informed him I will require something in writing TODAY from them stating they either say they dispensed the money from the atm or that they did not..either way at this point all i have is phone calls and they have continued to stonewall me. I have contacted Nevada State online as well as the local TV station to help. I totally understand if the machine shorted my withdrawal and gave me some money which i disputed. But the ATM did give me the error "unable to dispense" and there is no dispute that nevada state did debit my account but did not dispense the money.

Look at NSB jumping right on this, maybe you should pay attention to the actual paperwork in front of you, and not the damn internet.

Nevada State Bank Very POOR customer service

After opening a new checking account with NSB, I was informed that it would take 12 day to receive my debit card. 12 days passed with receipt. I contacted Stacy at the 800 number and was told that a card had never been ordered. As I told her about my eminent departure on a multi-month International trip, it was imperative that I receive this card ASAP or I would not have availability of my funds for the entire trip. Since opening the account I had made many changes for fund payments as well as funding for this account. She contacted the bank Manager, Mary Rourke. Now I can understand that mistakes happen, though no one is taking any responsibility for the error of not ordering my card, Mary had the opportunity to resolve the issue by ordering a 'rush' for my card. She has refused to do this as it would incur a $30 fee on behalf of the bank. After I went to the person that had opened up my account, Sandra, reminding her of her repeated assertions that I would be happy with NSB, she again went to Mary to request a 'rush'. Sandra had been aware of my International trip from the time the account was opened. Mary again had the authority to resolve this situation, but refused. This level of customer service is totally unacceptable. It is a level of service that would not even get accepted in third world countries. I so regret the day that I ever walked into NSB and will recommend to many that they do not do business with this company.

Flying from one AF base to another hardly makes you a world traveler. Most AF pilots don't even get enough flying hours to get a job with a commercial airline. I can see from your many posts that you regularly insult the consumer and support poor banking service. Non the less this site is to inform the public of complaints. The bank was totally negligent in not ordering my card (the first thing they had to do for me) and then refused to rectify it (Mary Rourke, Nevada State Bank) when they had not only the chance, but the obligation. Have a nice day HONEY!

Not sure why you would condone such poor service by the bank unless your name is Mary Rourke. By the banks admission, I had allowed plenty of time as they told me 12 days. They also had the opportunity to 'fix' the issue by order the 'rush' service, they just have chosen not to and to leave the customer hanging in the wind. They are clearly the ones that created this problem, then have made me pay for it!

PS I think I'm a little more savvy as a world traveler than you are Stealth Pilot.

Nevada State Bank NSF Fee & Bad Customer Service

The worst banking experiences with Nevada State Bank after banking with them for 9 years its problem after problem!

AVOID Sunset and Annie Oakly the manager there/partially removed/. When you go in to the branch you can hear this idiot screaming at customers on the phone and she will stand behind her protective counter and scream in your face.

If its one thing NSB LOVES to do its NSF FEES!

AVOID NEVADA STATE BANK IF YOU CAN!

Uh, Mr. "genious", you spelled it wrong (genius would be found in a borrowed dictionary), your grammar and punctuation are incorrect, and I am educated and elder to you in that I have respect for people that are smarter than I am. You must have missed that course in junior college, if you graduated from junior high school. NSB is a rip-off company. It is just one of the many LDS holdings that only became larger by the deregulation of the GWBush Administration. I just came from one of their branches which with regularity does just what is complained about...take NSF's when they are entitled to none. They treat their customers like so much dirt on their shoes. It's not the employees' fault however. It is the fault of the ridiculously "greed-based" business model they operate under. I love my LDS neighbors and friends, but whenever I do business with an LDS-held company, I always expect the worst but hope they will overcome their greed factor. So, I would get off this site, were I you, Mr.2smart4this, and go to the "stuck to the bottom of my rich mommy or daddy's shoe" site. Here, here to all who have posted about their shared horrible experiences with this institution of lower business ethics.

Hey geniouses first of all a message to "The Bottom Line"...well the bottom line is that you cannot spell and you apparently do not know how to properly balance your checkbook. Here is my advice...go back to elementary school and you can learn both spelling and counting...yes its true you can actually get something called an education and maybe then...just then...you wont complain. See the problem is not Theresa Cody, the problem is you are not intelligent enough to know how to speak, spell, or count and guess what...Theresa Cody is not responsible for your own stupidity...you are.

Nevada State Bank charged excessive overdraft fees on my husbands personal account right after Christmas while he was on the east coast dealing with the death of his father. They charged a total of $1, 160.00 in NSF fees for $157.16 worth of items presented to his account. Then they took all of the money from a Joint Checking account that I have with my...
