NetSpend I got frauded

Ok my wife and I were at her doctors appt when she got this supposed phone call from a david williams with david williams and assoc law firm stating he was a state suprem court of justice atty he told my wife that she had an outstanding bill of 750 dollars and she was being charged with three charges theft by deception and breaking two federal bank laws she was then instructed to pay the balance immediately and charges would be dropped so we told him all we had was 200$ he then instructed us to get a moneypack refill card thru vanilla or netspend so we did and payed it I called net spend and they said they couldnt do nothing about it but yet they have all my info on file ssn number address everything and the money pack card they said they could find the person name it was posted on there acct so I told them to give me the info so I could press charges and they said they couldnt so therfore I fell netspend being there the company these people are using to due fradulent activities and them not helping bring these people to justice odd to be charged with obstructing justice organized crime and accomplaces to organized crime so net spend either do the right thing and refund my twohundred dollars or I will persue to get these charges brought against u and will persue to sue each and every person iv talked to including net spend theirselves for my money plus pain and suffering for my whole family and whatever else my atty can figure to charge u with and for so once again im marcus gardiner and my number is [protected]

Even if you do find out who used the card, there is no way of knowing whether or not that was the same person who defrauded you, many people use these cards to make legal online purchases. For example say the person who you gave your code to contacted a bitcoin seller and sold that $200 refill card for $200 worth of Bitcoin, then you would have the Bitcoin seller's info, who had nothing to do with the scam.

NetSpend visa check card

Okay, I don't know how honest these remarks on this site are, but I have had a netspend card for about 8 years. Never, ever, have I had a problem with them. As a matter of fact, they have actually refunded money to my account when some kind of scam company charged me for something i'd never heard of, much less received. They have always been just as good if not better than any bank i've ever had in the past. I looked into this site because like many of you all I received an achieve card. I choose not to activate it now, mainly because i'm quite satisfied with the netspend card (S) that we have. I felt like I had to come to their defense since many of you are complaining. Thanks for listening.

NetSpend blocked my card for no reason

We received our income tax of over $5, 000 & within 2-3 days had paid a couple bills & had spent almost $2, 000 when we went to walmart & tried to pay for two little toddler bikes for our kids totalling $138 & it refused our card 5 times! So when we left walmart I went to an atm & tried to withdraw $100 & it wouldn't give it to me, said my card was locked & I needed to call customer service (Joke). The following morning we called customer service only to be told that a block had been put on card for "fraud reasons" & now my husband who was in from texas, where he works, had to fax them a copy of his i. D, social security card, & a bill from our house with his name & address on it! He explained to 10 different people that his social security card had been stolen & asked if he could just fax the other 2 since he had already purchased a plane ticket to fly back to texas only a few hours later, they said no! Also asked if anything else would work, no! So when he left a few hours later he had his i. D & a trash bill from our house with his name & address on it & when he got off his flight in texas he went directly to social security office (Which ended up being a huge 5 hour process) & left with a stamped certified letter from them that net spend said they'd accept & went & faxed the 3 different forms they asked for! He then calls them for 2 days only to hear they hadn't received them yet! On the third day when he called to see if they had received them they told him they had but they couldnt accept any of them and they had mailed the rest of our check (Over $3, 000) back to the irs! It has been 10 days now & we haven't had a word about our money from anyone! They are a fraud! Scamming everyone! Please dont use netspend if u need your money or dont want it stolen from you by the people that were suppose to be helping you!

Exactly has happened to us as well all proper documents sent. Now working with IRS fraud department against netspend they even had use record conversations with netspend won't be long and they will be shut down and serious charges against them. Best wishes to all.

Netspend blocked my card they will not tell me why. They will not accept my documents I submitted. They will hold my money on my card and deny me access too use it as needed. They told me any pending funds will be sent back where they came from and there not liable if the receiving party doesn't receive the funds. I've asked too speak with a supervisor the representive in the busy call center said they are overwhelmed processing customers I would need too call back in several business days and he will email his supervisor. Its been days nobody called me and I still cannot reach a supervisor this company is careless and the owners just go with the flow as long as they can cut a check too themselves. Please stay away from this company unless you like being a powerless customer with grocery money stolen possibly even legal.

I too had netspend put a block on my tax refund after I spent more than 1/2 of my refund. I spoke to the IRS and they said no way are they sending back to the IRS part of my refund. I am going to call Netspend back right now to tell them what I found out from the IRS and hopfully my money will not get lost for months like I see in other "netspendmayhaveripedmeoff comments I will update.

Same thing happend with me and then was told by netspend the remainder of my refund was being sent back to the irs, it has been 2 months and my money is still missing.

NetSpend frustration

I filed my taxes through turbotax this year, and all went well. My taxes were approved by the government and were sent to netspend... Aaarrrrgggghhhhh! First off, I didn't receive my card, so, after a month of waiting, I called and requested a second card to be sent out. I was called a liar and told that my card had been activated yet no funds were deducted from my account. My fiancee also did her taxes through turbotax and received her card within days of applying for it, so I asked if I could just have my funds put into her account and was told I could not. The rep I talked to informed me that if I could go get a prepaid card from the store and activate it, they could transfer my tax return to that card, so that's what I did. $30 later, I called back to netspend, where (Of course) I spoke to another rep and a manager who both told me that I could not do this either because I didn't have the numbers off my original card (Which I still had not received) and that there was no way that I could get the numbers even from the issuing company of the card! So I waited and a week later, I received the first card (The one they told me had been activated!) , and the next day I received the second card. I called to activate the cards as soon as I got them, and now there is a hold on my funds! They will not transfer them or let me activate either account because I had to send in a copy of my dl, social security card, and a bill... And then it will take them 48 hours to "review" the information. I jumped through this hoop and sent them all the information they asked for. Was that good enough? Hell no! Then they told me that I had to send in a copy of my w-2 (Which I thought was illegal) , and against my better judgement, I did. I called tonight and they informed me that they did receive my w-2, but now they are having a problem because I sent my dl and ssn were on the same page, and they were overlapped on the corners! Both were still completely legible! I just had to pay yet another $4 to re-fax them seperately! I am now up to $40, and lord only knows how much they are raping my tax return for their bogus fees! It's been almost 2 effing months! If I ever get my money from them, I am cutting this card and I will never go through turbotax or netspend again and neither will my fiancee! I hope the amazing idiots that work for netspend are still keeping up to date with this site so they know that I filed a complaint with the bbb this afternoon!

I have to agree with kingmore, why did you even consider using them? If you feel you cannot do your own taxes, at least go with a reputable company like H&R Block or somewhere that won't rip you off.

Or better yet, get a bank account and get direct deposit like 99% of the rest of the world.

NetSpend holding tax refund hostage!

Completed my tax return with turbotax on February 2nd. I chose the option to receive my return on a card provided by Netspend. The money was deposited on the card from the IRS on February 13th. When I tried to activate the card, Netspend said that there is a block on the card, and to FAX my ID, SS card, and a utility bill. I did twice and was told that the FAX wasn't clear enough. I was then told that my money was returned back to the IRS. I'm very worried that I will never get my money. I suggest we all do something about this because this very unfair

And a netspend rep gave a wrong account number in march2013 and now it seems like nobody can resolve this problem at netspend so now hr block put a trace on my funds even though i have the account number it was sent which is not an active account they cant help wit sit now i have to wait for a check there gonna mess around and get sued i know if idont get my refund i do have a good lawyer

NetSpend - hold on account

I received my netspend card and my federal tax refund was on there. We used the card 2 times and there was a block put on the account and they want us to fax our ID, SS card, and something with our name and address on it before they remove the block. I have faxed this over 20 times and they are still saying they didnt receive it. I am very disappointed and...

dont believ netspen they are pieces of crap i would never recomend them to no one. they messed us up so bad and now costing us a lot of money and now we have no clue when we will get our money! i have never went through this ever with no other company this is the fist time ive ever had an issue getting my money. netspend sux and i am doing all i can to let everyone know not to use them.! DONT USE THEM!

NetSpend holding my refund because its over the netspend load limit from irs

Netspend is holding my taxes and wont release them because its over the amount they load at a time and are saying I need to send more documents even called 3 way with the irs rep and the irs rep was so confused and never heard of this
They have my tax money hostage and its crazy

Netspend is the worst company! they steal money that already belongs to you!TI OVERPAID FOR MEDICAL BILLS AND WAS DUE A REFUND OF $200. THEY REFUSE TO LIFT THE HOLD ON MY REFUND UNTIL I PROVIDE A ORIGINAL RECEIPT. i THINK i AM GOING TO HIRE A LAWYER TO DEAL WITH THIS BECAUSE ALL OF THE TIME LOST TRYING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE! *********WARNING ************Please stay away from NetSpend they will hold your money, block your account, make you call back, fax documents over and over and make your life HELL! Our card has a block on it and they keep telling us they have to review the account. Ok great do so. My $6400 tax refund is deposited to my account that is blocked from me the card holder. At first they said it will take 4-6 hours then 24 hours after that 24 more hours. We get a call back to tell us to call tomorrow at noon that the account has to be reviewed. Wow Really it does tell me something I don't know. Oh yeah they said to go online to see if the block has been lifted well can't do that because it hasn't and the piece of S?%t website is down. No one can login, even with normal accounts that aren't blocked. I really hate and despise the fact that Piece of [censored]Spend is allowed to still do business to make money off all the customers who go through hell just to get the money the worked hard for. With out us suffering customers they wouldn't have dime. There wouldn't be no call centers in the philapenes for there country to have jobs we don't. I can go on all day about about them and how they did me wrong. I know how I'm going to fix it. Cancel all my cards tell everyone I know not to ever go through them and hopefully everyone who has a complaint or horrific experience they do the same. They have millions of customers that means they make millions of dollars off treating us like [censored]. The money I was bringing them and the millions of other customers they don't care enough to change or get there [censored] together to keep there cash cow customers. Some thing has to change I get treated like [censored] once I will not sick around for it to happen again and you should do the same. CANCEL NETSPEND ACCOUNTS DO NOT SIGN UP DIRECT DEPOSIT TO GET TAX REFUNDS 2 DAYS FASTER. IT IS ALL FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!'!

The same thing happened to us. The IRS tax refund went through. We received our money and then after a day and a half our card was invalid. With an hour and a half of talking with different departments, nothing was handled. It is not their concern whether we have our money or not. It says nowhere on the site, nor in any email we received from them that they can put a hold on your refund. Customer Service is terrible. My money is being held from us as well. This is the worst company, do not use them!

NetSpend refuse to unblock our tax return

we just moved from another state. we filed our taxes through turbo tax as we always do and it gave the option to recieve the money our bank account number, a paper check or on the prepaid netspend card.. well because we are in the process of switching banks we decided on netspend.. we got the email that the refund was deposited in our account and the next day we recieved our card, so i activated it ( it only gave us the option to have 1 card) and within an hour of activating it, i got an email saying we need to call because there was a problem with the account. because we were busy we called the next day and they told us that it was for security reasons that they needed copies of my husbands id, social security card, and a bill, because every utility is in my name but the cell phone he asked if the cell bill was ok, they said fine and that there will be a 48 hour block once they recieve the fax. we also faxed his bank statement. the next day i suggested he call them and confirm they got the fax and they said they did and everything was all set and that the block would be off saturday feb 16.. today the block was still on, so my husband calls today and they said they never recieved the fax and he needed to call on monday to see why. then i started researching and saw awful reviews on them and saw that many people are going through the same thing and they have had blocks now for 3 weeks. my husband and i called and he verifed his info so i can talk and then went back to work, everytime they would transfer they said oh we need ur husband, i said he already verified.. so after 3 hours finally my husband and i get a supervisior and her name was michelle and her employee number is 469524 says oh your cell and ur bank statement wasnt accepted. and now u need to send a w2, so my husband says well if i do it now is the block going to be lifted today, she says no maybe 48 hrs... he told michelle i want my wife added to the account she says sorry i cant there is a block! they representatives are rude, they hang up on you and they are from another country! they barely understand english! soo soo frustrated! i am calling the irs on tuesday. turbo tax said they got many calls like this! then do something about it!

I have had the exact same problem with NetSpend. My money was released to NetSpend and I tried to use my NetSpend card one time and they froze it and put a block on it. I have faxed the requested information to them on three different occasions. The first time they said they received it and it was being processed that it would take approximately 6 hours, 24 hours later they said it would take 24 to 48 hours and now they are saying they have not received any of the documents requested from me. They are rude when you call them and try to find something out. I am going to call the IRS and see if they can do anything and also file a complaint with law enforcement and see what I need to do to receive my tax money.

NetSpend loyal customer in disbelief

I can not believe after being with a company for years I would be treated like this. I have my check directly deposited and after my husband called and said my card was declined, I wasn't worried because I assumed Netspend was safe. Boy was I wrong! After seeing charges I actually made and then to have charges clear across the country charged on the same debit card, on the same day, you'd think Netspend would fix it. In fact Netspend boast on how secure your money is. Well after I made the initial call to discuss fraud charges, they processed more charges on my account. Now I have 0 dollars in fact my account is negative at this point. Instead of fixing the problem right away, they are making me wait 10 days and could be up to 2 months before this issue is resolved. My feelings are hurt because I felt like I was with a good company. Now I worry about how I'm going to make it with absolutely no money with my children needing food, lights, gas...My situation is paycheck to paycheck and now that my paycheck is gone I have no clue how we will survive. Although I told Netspend they could probably get surveillance at the store I actually used my card at, and this would clearly show I was not in New York purchasing Dunkin Donuts and Western Beef using the same card (which i thought it was impossible to have two cards with the same exact number), well Netspend could care less about that.

Was banking with netspend for 2 years + had stopped for a few months and started again. Asked the representative to send me out a new card because I had started back banking with netspend and was expecting a direct deposit in a few weeks and dont know where my card is..asked for a new one to be sent out. The representative assured me thatte old card would be cancelled and that my new one should be expected in 10 days. About 2 weeks later i got bad and noticed $400 was missing from my account only to find a collection person had took from my card. I contacted Netspend and i told the representative the collection people took from the old card that was never cancelled and that i have to onfile and one that wasn't activated yet.i opened up a dispute i got the run around for about two weeks only to be told it will be an additional 45 days to determine whether my money would be replaced. The representative failed to cancel my card and this could have all be avoided the transaction was unauthorized i contacted the collection people i was told they had the right to force charge my card with no permission. Asked Netspend for cooperate number bbecause i was getting the run around. And they refused. To give it to me i am still waiting for my funds. I will leave netspend. If my funds are returned and will take further action.

We too were longtime customers up to yesterday went to take out money from card that was my husband paycheck . Receipt comes back saying " BANK UNAVAILABLE" okay wait a few second lucky 40 seconds went by tried again then it says insufficient funds and then they have the gull to text just as that receipt came out to tell me the money was withdrawal and the balance i had left. Really somebody needs to investigate this company. Were we one of the chosen ones this month. Cause now we have to wait 10 days for a dispute or is 10 days of making interest off our money and everybody else they did it too. Seriously enough of this I'm hoping the federal government looks into this company. Oh and by the way I was the machine 8:20am and reciept says 7:14am hmmm come netspend stop ripping us off. Thanks this the paycheck was for us to eat and pay my water bill. Hope you sleep well at night !

NetSpend lack of assist service

Dear sir/madam:
I am filing an complaint the non-bank that I deposit my government check. I being their about in the bank, netspend. From september 2009 to the present time. On, january, 28, 2013, that I saw an charger of my account with not my permission. The amount of $203.95. And, they do not want do assist. With problem. Also, I am planning to transfer my account to a better place. I need an assist with this problem.

You are not the only one. I also tried to resolve issues because I have told a number of people how I loved using Netspend. I never had a problem until someone used my card in New York and caused my account to be in the negative. I explained to Netspend that I have been a customer for 3+ years and this was my only source of funds. They told me that it could take 10 days- 2 months. I have children who need meds and food and I am able to do NOTHING at this time. I could understand if I was not using my card and they thought I was in another state. I explained I used my card to purchase gas in the state I reside, and the same credit card was being used in New York. They simply don't care and that hurts. I have given them fees for my card and they told me they have to wait 10 days. I am truly disgusted and I will let everyone I have told to use Netspend that I made a big mistake. I am in the process of trying to have my funds re-routed to someone who cares about their customers and will safeguard the money I earn. I am also contacting the Better Business Bureau and advise you do the same, therefore others will not depend on Netspend like we did.

Can someone help. I have fallen for these advertisements saying I have won $5000 on a netspend prepaid visa card and have had many sent just to activate the card and get nothing. And thats not the only lie they sent me my card when I opened a new account with netspend and along with the card a letter saying I was approved for a $500 line of credit if I activated my card on netspend web site along with this approval code. Im really upset I feel like netspend will do or say whatever it takes to get people to sign with them. They have messed with me too much and I dont know if I have a lawsuit. When I called netspend on ths matter they wouldnt let me talk to anyone incharge the girl acted as if she put her supervisor on acan someone help. I dont agree with the 3 page b/s Ortiz is shoveling either. Now Im a highly educated individual and Ive received a message alert by phone for my personal info because I won $5000 to be loaded on a netspend card. Same responses with the customer service reps. No supervisor available. Wait 30 min to an hour then get hung up on. Wen i finally talk to some1 from netspend tells me the card will be loaded in 30 days. I call bak & no one knws wat im talkin bout. Now this bogus activity seems awful suspicious seeing that netspend dnt even wanna take the tiime to trace this info. Yet you are still trying to get me to set up direct deposit on a card I didnt need. Im asking bout this $5000 you say i won and u trying to sell me every other promotion. U have. I dnt need a netspend card, i have my own bank account where they charge no fees for petty things. Give me wat u say i won or try and fix the problem! Its funny to me how u dnt know how my information got to you! Any legitmate business should at least knw that! It makes me think you are a part of the scam wen u dont even try to find out who is sending the alerts! I definitely intend to report this to the BBB for waisting my time with this false advertisement and having me wait 30 days just to get me off the phone. Wat's to investigate whoever prompted me to send my info to you sent the aler. Or did netspend prompt the alert themselves just to get customers to sign up and activate their card? If i knew I could sue them I would. For receiving my information under false pretenses and/or promises. ortiz is a liar. I have been with netspend since 2007. you are wrong netspend are, 'lairs, 'and crooks they will tell you anything then release your funds right after you hangup. I hage lots'of proof, we just got rid of them for one account and ow the other. I advise you do the same.

ortiz is a liar and so is netspend. we get emails from netspend every month that say payday is on a specific day. then the money not show for a week later, and to prove this I can call the VA benefits line and they tell me when they sent my money to netspend. then call netspend back and they say they don't see it. I hangup and the money pop up. I got rid of them and I recommend you do the same, they will eventually fall, and your money will be lost. We have even had them hangup in our face when confronted in a nice way, if you dont believe. Just set them'up just as we are. Netspend are liars and they steal.PROMISE. Do this test yourself, and you will catch them. WE NEED TO STAND UP.

To anyone that took the time to read this complaint, and then was surprisingly intrigued by the content which led to possibly needing clarification on the issue(s) concerned, please continue reading. There have been large amounts of misinformed people spreading bogus information about Netspend. I am not an employee of Netspend, and I am not getting paid by/for them in any way what-so-ever! I'm simply a long time customer of Netspend and would hate to see the company change their policies in a way that hurts their loyal base due to the people that are circulating the same lies over and over. The incorrect information can get cleared up & the issues can be settled once and for all. That is...as long as people listen (read) without bias and/or pre-conceived notions; as well as, "hear" all that is being said. ;)

I've been with Netspend for years, and have recommended the Netspend card to several family members and friends. In my experience with Netspend, never have I known them to EVER portray themselves as anything other than a PREPAID DEBIT CARD! There is NO credit limit because your available amount to spend is limited to what YOU deposit on your card. I cannot believe some people and the things they complain about! It's ridiculous! Furthermore, there isn’t a COMPANY ANYWHERE that would send someone a letter stating they won $5000 to open an account! I find myself questioning whether or not this person has the mental capacity to successfully handle their own financial matters. To truly believe such an absurd offer, it’s feasible to believe a trusted relative and/or friend should be taking care of their finances.

Rather than admit THEIR lapse in judgment for being naïve about an obvious SCAM, this absurd individual presumed to explore the potential of a lawsuit against Netspend in lieu of filing a report/complaint against the perpetrator that was actually responsible for the fraudulent attempt! It’s truly unfortunate that people such as these are (at least partially) responsible for the less than helpful, rude and/or unsympathetic customer service people regularly encounter. Since I previously worked for a financial conglomerate handling a wide variety of customer service related inquiries; I can attest from experience that working with disrespectful, rude, and uncompromising segments of the population quickly becomes tiresome. Frequent interaction with a belligerent and/or abusive someone may be overlooked to an extent, but a person’s instinctual defense mechanism will supersede etiquette ideology if/when a threat looms.

Encountering a person that doesn’t accept responsibility for any of their actions or behavior is not only annoying, but sadly troubling as well. To this personality type, everything is “some other” party’s problem/mistake. This is why they feel justified in REFUSING to listen and/or hear what another person is attempting to explain! As far as they are concerned, they already have the answers to life’s issues (as they see them) so there isn't ANYTHING anyone else can say/do to persuade consideration of another point of view. Disturbingly, this online selfish/self-absorbed thinking is proving to be quite common since I stumbled upon another (similar in nature) message board. Written in the same context /tone, another disgruntled group was carrying on about how they were going to report/sue Netspend for "sending them a credit card in the mail that they did not apply for!"

Once again, regardless of the people on the message board attempting to EXPLAIN the facts about Netspend promotional prepaid debit cards which arrive in the mail, the second group of message board participants (like those on the first message board) did not understand how a promotional debit card could be rendered USELESS to anyone other than the person it was addressed to. As with the first group, when they didn't "get it, ” they refused any further information, and became unwilling to accept further continuation on the subject. Personally, I cannot comprehend how these feeble minded imbeciles can feverishly get STUCK on the conclusion that a Netspend card is the same thing as a traditional credit card? On top of that, the fact that they believe someone could perpetuate an attack on their identity with it. They literally talk before thinking and before getting the facts. They refused to grasp the concept that even IF there were a thief, he/she would have to load THEIR OWN MONEY on the card to use it.

Furthermore, Netspend does NOT have access to any of their money (bank accounts, credit cards, etc.) unless THEY decide to load their money on the Netspend card! It’s really odd to me that people can have so much to say when they have NO authority on the subject; as well as, remain absent minded to the posted Netspend facts/rules including how a new cardholder has to personally TELL NETSPEND the REMAINDER of their personal information to activate, have, and/or use the card that was received! Without all these steps, a Netspend card is completely useless! If the situation wasn't so sad and pathetic, it would be hilariously funny! These are the same types of characters that will shout to the world how ignorant everyone else is! Hopefully, someday, these people will see enough of these messages for the “factual” “truth” to finally break through the thick skull that holds their "wee-little brains."

Then, they can finally admit that Netspend did nothing illegal, immoral and/or wrong relating to anyone’s personal information which could jeopardize a person’s identity. Sadly, I don’t think these types of people will "ever" admit they are or were wrong. They would much rather go through life perpetuating a lie and slandering a company that never did anything to them other than mail them a generic “offer.” It would be really funny for those people to find out and realize that the ONLY potential for a lawsuit would be one “against” THEM-the ones “threatening to sue Netspend? Netspend could reasonably sue THEM for slander-they, on the other hand, have not been wronged in any way or had any damages!

Stupid is as stupid does. Even Forest Gump had more sense than these types of people. I just hope Netspend appreciates (and continues to appreciate) all their GOOD customers that take time out of their days (like I just did) and defend them repeatedly out of the goodness of our hearts. The loyal and good Netspend customers deserve to be treated with kindness and respect! THAT is what is MOST important to us, and what we actually CARE about. Then again, a little reward and/or incentive never hurt anyone. : p :)

NetSpend thievery

The card is marketed to low income or people with bank problems. I think they are consciously using the bad economy in order to acquire people who would otherwise avoid this scam like the plague.
Impossible to get cash from this card unless you spend money. You must buy something at the grocery store chain, or pay out the nose for fees from atms are the only way to get cash.
Service fees to report stolen money or missing cards.
Service fees to get account balances over the automated phone system.
Unconcerned with discrepancies.
My complain is this;
Nobody is there to defend the little people from companies who make millions from nickle and dimming the people who dont, cant, or wont use a bank.
Who do I turn to when bank keeps on taking small amounts of money from me? Why must they use poor people to fund themselves?
Who is there to protect us?
Many people are stuck in this same situation, the world we live in now insists on a debit card, one must have some kind of plastic to make use of this world and its a shame many people are stuck in a situation where they are victimized like this.
Heb and netpend customer service should be ashamed to work for companies like this.

NetSpend rude/poor customer service

There were unauthorized transactions from my account. All in one day ranging from Georgia to Great Britain and was never caught by any of the Skylight employees. Waste of time contacting the fraud department. They want you to spend more money to get every transaction you are disputing notarized, and get a police report. I trusted them with my money just to get ripped off. Visa returned the money just for skylight to take 3/4 of it for fees from the account being overdrawn. When I told them that was from the unauthorized transactions they told me that were there fees and they cannot reimburse them. When asked to talk to a supervisor they hung up on me. Needless to say I told them close the account, I want my name in no way associated with there company. Week later account still wasn't closed. They claim in takes 3 days to close an account? Garbage. NO ONE SHOULD USE THEM if you want to keep your money!

My advice to you would be to pay the $5 to close the account and go to a real bank, or you will continue to have nothing but issues with them. I did and haven't had one issue since. Skylight should be shut down!

my skylight account on line tells me i have a positive balance plus overdraft protection when i call the card i am -242 dollars in my account same result at atm when i did speak to a towel head he said all is well i do have money in my account but when asked why i couldnt get money out i got a unaudiable explanation with NO satisfaction or reasoning what so ever

For the past month I been going threw all kinds of issues. Now I am at my breaking point. I been using the last account number with them for the past 2 years. I had money put on my card and was wondering why it hasnt showed up. Me being patient I waited to days before I called. When I called they told me I have the wrong account number. Really. I said Ms I been using the same account number since it was given to me. They never sent me any of the information I requested. My online banking has not been reset. They are very rude. I dont know where my job found these from. They are the worst.

NetSpend fraud on the account

All the money was stolen from my card $890.00 on [protected]. 2 days before this happened my account was blocked so I called customers service and was told that somebody has been calling in on my account and they askedd if it was me and I said no and that the person was 1 digit off and so that's why they blocked my account ok good. Then I was told that I had to send over documents to the fraud department. I asked to speak to the fraud department then I was told that I could not speak to the fraud department because the fraud department does not speak to customers directly I could only fax them or email them. I emailed them the documents that they had requested and then they unblocked my account. Ok the next morning casey m. Rumph transferred $890.00 from my account to there account I received a text telling me this so I immediately called netspend to let them know that I didn't do this transaction and I need the money put back into my account. Well casey had made a transaction of $705.23 and they put $184.77 back on my account now I had to go to the claims department to dispute the transaction so that I could get my money back.

Now here is were the problems come in why was it that when my account was blocked the first time and I called in and askedd to speak to the fraud department I was told that they do not speak to customers directly I could only email or fax them, but now that my money is stolen I can speak with the fraud department? The fraud department the ordered me a new card, changed my pin number, and my security question. Now that my money is stolen and I have to wait 2 weeks 10 business days its ok to speak with the fraud department?

When I finally did speak with the fraud department I askedd them this same question then I was told it is up to the customer service person to determine if they will transfer you to the fraud department or not. That is crazy and a policy that needs to be changed immediately because if I was allowed to speak with the fraud department when this fist happened and they blocked the account I would have changed the information then and they would not have been able to steal the money. My account being blocked and I had to send forums to the fraud department should have been enough cause for me to speak with the fraud department then also and this nightmare would not have happened.

Your foreign customer service is the worst I have ever experienced very hard to understand english, rude will only answer question that they want to ask not the questions that you asked them.

I have been a netspend customer for many years and have quite of my friends that use netspend because I told them about it, and this is the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I hope you will straighten this matter very soon and I hope to here from you soon and get this matter resolved.

I was a customer for three years. They blocked my account because they said they couldn't verify my address. So I got a check back for my remaining balance. I went to open an account with Paypal and they said they couldn't open an account because Netspend said I commited Fraud. I think the only solution is they have to pay. So once they start having to pay for their fraudulant behavior. If you can't truely proove that I comitted fraud I want some hard earned cash, yes I said cash for holding up my SSI for almost 3 weeks. It still says on my credit report That I comitted fraud with Netspend Well I think about 3 times the amount held back plus maybe 100 dollars a day till they correct this injustice. Iam experiencing problems with them now. .my tax refund was post to my card...soon as it posted they block my card ND cancelled it.. Talking bout suspicious activity... that a lie!l call them they said I called and say my card was stolen...really? Why would I call and say that on the day I get my refunds...it's been over a month and they still put ppl on the phone lying and hang up on me...the will not let me speak with a supervisor or fraud department... My question is for what? This morning I spoke to an Andrew from the fraud dept. We were called by a James who claimed to work for Southern California Edison. He told us we needed to pay $792 or our electricity would be disconnected. We paid at the local MoneyGram Kiosk and later I received a call for an additional request of $750 deposit. When I refused to pay, I called Southern California Edison to complain. That is where I was told this was all a scam. I attempted to stop payment at MoneyGram and with NetSpend. Please it is important someone call me to immediately attempt to resolve this matter. It is difficult to get through your phone system since I am prompted for a net spend card number.

NETSPEND is the worst ever. I've been calling in a bout the block on my account for TWO days now and the problem has yet to be fix and from the looks of it it'll never be fix. I couldn't pay my sons daycare I couldn't get my sons medication all because of a BLOCK that NETSPEND places onto my account. Now did I request for thei black HELL no😡. I didn't ask NETSPEND to monitor my money l ask for an account to put MY MONEY. As I am typing I am on hold I hate calling NETSPENDS customer service department (15mins on hold) the Rep has yet to come back to the phone to say anything to me not ever to refresh her hold yet she will still be on a JOB(Not a good look for a customer rep that represents the company). I've requested for a manager there seems to be not one on SITE i asked for a Supervisor and it was like pulling teeth so I can only imagine what like getting this manager. All I want is MY MONEY. Me giving the company a rating would be a negative -0. You guys are horrible netspend

On Feb. 2 I was suppose to receive my income direct deposit with Netspend. Didn't receive refund due to the fact that I need to show proof of income. Ok understandable so I send in proof of income and was told it take 8 hours to process. Fine. So I'm patiently waiting call back two days later no one has received information and wasn't given a reference number the first time which they should given me one so I have to send information again and wait 8 more hours (getting very frustrated now) so decide to call back the next day still haven't took the block off my card and haven't received refund yet. I think Netspend is full of crap I recommended this card to a lot of people this year and regret that I did a mistake I will never make again. UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER

NetSpend ach return fees

Netspend does not reimburse fees that paypal incurrs on your card. Even though I submitted a letter showing netspend that it ws their mistake, I was told that the $4 in multiple attempts to get a large amount on the card on the same day was their error. They told me to look at my contract. So I closed the account.

NetSpend horrible customer service

Having tried to get through on their automated phone service well over a dozen times, I had to talk to an actual person to get my balance. Now I have two charges for needing my account info, because their phone system is all messed up! I've lost money to these jerks for checking my balance at an ATM I'm allowed to use (never saw THAT in the fine print!) and for all types of things. These people are SHADY! Stay far far away from them. Worst bank ever, period.

NetSpend unauthorized transfer

Please never use netspend. I had my tax return deposit in my account on the 8th of feb 2012 and by the 10th of feb 2012 I had an unauthorized transfer to occur. $2, 440.00 was taken out my account and transferred to someone I dont know. I filed a complaint and now waiting on an affidavit from the company through my email 24 to 48 hrs is what they told me its 2 days later. Tomorrow is the deadline for them I swear im taking them to the media. There are so many horror stories about netspend I wish I would known.

This just happened to me tonight. It was all the money I have in the world right now and my gas tank is empty. I have to wait until the morning to call them. I spoke with an agent earlier because I could not get into my account. I transferred everything to my savings so it couldn't be used and was going to withdraw everything tomorrow, however an hour later everything was gone and transferred user to user to a James Coleman who I've never even heard of. I can't get into my account again either because my user name/password/email has been changed. NetSpend direct deposits

Ive been using netspend for years never had a problem. The one time I decide to put my refund on my card they wouldn't deposit it, kept giving me the run around really frustrated me have bills to pay is why I decided to do so. I would advise anyone thinking about using netspend dont do it! I really wish I would have taken some time out to research them I would have never signed up for this bs card! Canceled my card went over to visa no problems yet.
