NetGear c3000 modem router combo

I tried calling them but they were very rude to me.
Crapy product and worst customer service.

I had the worst customer service ever with them. I talked to a guy called kumar and he was kind of yelling on me. He refused to even let me talk to his supervisor as I wanted to give my feedback as a cusomer. I feel humilated and helpless at this time.
I have been getting calls from unknown numbers after that and they leave me words that I dont understand in my voicemail. Please help

NetGear router - client number [protected] july 9, 2018

Hi. I just got off the phone with customer service. I was on the phone with them for 1hr and 16 minutes. At the beginning of the call, the automated service announced that there is free technical support from 90 days of purchase and after that there is a service charge for technical support unless Netgear was responsible for the issue. The agent and I were probably 45 minutes into the call when she realized that my router was no longer under warranty. She told me that I could purchase an extended 12 month warranty for $139. I told her that I would like to just pay for the technical support call which she stated would be $49 for 30 minutes. I assumed that the time would start at that point. I was under the impression that prior to that point all the test she was running was to determine if it was Netgear or me that were responsible for the technical support fee for the fix. At the end of our conversation, she indicated that we were already at 50 minutes. It was at this time that she transferred me to her supervisor to finish up the call. He told me that the charge for today was going to be $98 for an hour of service. It was at this time that I decided to upgrade to the 12 month warranty package for the additional $41. I am writing you today to let you know that I feel deceived. I feel that the agent should have let me know immediately when she did all the test to determine who was responsible for the repair. It was definitely not clear. I would like a $89 refund as I feel I was mislead. I will pay the $49 for the technical support call seeing as my warranty had expired but would like to be refunded for the rest. Thanks. Sincerely- Veronica Voloka

NetGear netgear base station vmb3000

We purchased the base station along with three cameras back in 2016. Since then we have purchased another couple of cameras. We have had problems with a few of them in the past, and have always managed to get the cameras changed and matter resolved.

Our most recent camera purchased earlier this year had to be changed and since then we have not been able to attatch it to the base station. We ended up removing said camera, with a view to re-attatching it but have had a constant problem with the base station showing a flashing Amber light, so we now have a problem with the base station. We have tried to escalate this problem via the normal channels, but we cannot get into the site to send the problem through.

We have tried to switch the box off and on, unplug it from the wall, re-boot it, changed the ether net cable which runs to the router. We have also contacted our internet provider to ask if they had blocked the signal to the base station, but they said it was all fine from their end.

We have been trying to sort this out for over a week. I have even managed to find a telephone number for Netgear, who said they would pass it on and that someone would call me back later that day. Three days later, no phone call.

We are at our wits end and need this system up and running ASAP. Please could you help us as we do not know how to get this issue resolved.

Many thanks,

Julie and Mike Galloway

NetGear arlo security camera

I purchased the Arlo Security Cameras in November 2017. They worked okay until May 2018 when Netgear released an update. It has been a total nightmare since then. Customer Service has been the worse. I was routed to agent in Philippines and India that I could not understand anything they were saying. Recommend to anyone thinking about purchasing this product. DONT, RUN. DO not purchase this product. Awful!

NetGear arlo pro 2 dual camera system

I did a lot of research on this camera and found it to be in the same class as the Nest outdoor 1080p camera but approximately $150 more in price. I bought the Arlo Pro 2 yesterday and realized from the outset that the added features of the camera such as the activity zone fencing to reduce false alarms, the 3 second pre-activity recording and the 24/7 continuous recording i was hoping to use as advertised would not be variable to my as Netgear don't actually supply the power cables to the cameras just one short single cable for charging the units. In contrast to the Nest product that not only supply the initial cables but and extended cable normally needed to reach and outdoor or attic outlet. I called customer service and they told me that you don't provide these cables even as an option to add them and this would be my responsibility. I find this absolutely appalling given the high price I paid for the cameras over $500 to not include the correct equipment to access all the premium features I thought I was paying for. I am left now trying to research if in fact I can purchase long micro USB to Standard USB cables that would be suitable for outdoor use and adapter that has the correct amp and voltage so I don't blow the camera. Customer service also told me it would be my responsibility to purchase these leads and also stated that if I add non supplied equipment it would void the warranty which is a ridiculous statement as netgear dont supply them so if i do i void the warranty. This looks like a massive oversight by netgear and very disappointing and I would have thought if you wanted to get more subscribers to your paid cloud storage service you would have provided a solution for customers to connect the cameras to an external power as advertised. This makes the cameras inferior to the Nest product not at an extra $150 premium. You have a very disappointed customer!

NETGEAR Support

Dear Netgear,

I need to get this off my chest because it is eating at me after receiving the above email. I have a huge problem with a company that only stands by its product for 90 days after the purchase, then wants to charge $45 for technical support or have their customers solve my problem in a forum. This will be my last piece of overpriced equipment that I, my family, friends or any one I see looking to purchase one of your products (If I can help it!). I am going to every site that sells this piece of equipment and give my honest review of this garbage product and customer service.

Warmest Regards,
Ex-Loyal Costumer

NetGear extender ex6200

I went online to find setup instructions as my extender wasn't working. The pop up chat person said she would have tech support call me to help me with the instructions. Tech support took control of my PC and then proceeded to quickly show me various "diagnostic reports" indicating that I had fallen for phishing scams, clicked on bad links, went to bad sites, etc. and that these bad things were the reason my extender would not work. It didn't make sense what he was describing and I questioned him. He evaded my questions and showed me a slick graphic and told me for $99 he could fix it. I told him I wasn't prepared to have them fix it and he started berating me telling me I could not fix it, I needed them, nothing I did would make it work, etc. I had to spend some time researching it, but I did fix it. This scam that Netgear is perpetrating is shameless. STAY AWAY FROM NETGEAR.

NetGear netgear service

On Thursday Feb. 23 my Vizio smart tv had a line through the middle of my pic. I got talked into resetting my tv back to factory settings w/o any knowledge that my smart tv would no longer accept my password on my Netgear router, which meant no matter how many times i tried it was useless. I was informed I had to call Netgear and again I was informed in order to fix the problem I had to buy a policy with your comp. in order to connect to the internet. I paid $130.99. I already paid for the router and felt as if I bought another 1. I feel as though I was scammed. But when I bought the Netgear policy amazingly "Rivi" put the same password in that was on my router it worked. I kept asking why? If it took the same password that was on my router for him, it should have worked for me. I am only a layman when it comes to computers but next time I'll think twice before I ever do this again, due to this unsatisfactory performance. Maybe Netgear should offer a one time deal in a case like this not $130.99. All I needed was a reconection nothing more.

NetGear ac750 wifi extender

I purchased a Netgear AC750 Extender just yesterday from Walmart. I paid about $79.97 plus tax for it. Like everyone else, when I got home, I could not get it to work. I called Netgear and after about an hour I finally got to speak with a "Technician" (I use that word lightly.) His name was Roger. After two hours, the "Tech" could not get it working either. He ran some “diagnostics” and attempted to put the fear of death in me by saying that multiple people had cracked my firewall and router and were using my Wi-Fi thus preventing the Extender from working. He said I could purchase a Netgear Firewall Protection plan for $99 for 6 months or $300 for life. I nearly laughed. Instead, I said I would speak with some computer friends of mine about it. He was very disappointed as he wasted 2 hours of his valuable time with me. Too bad so sad. DO NOT BUY NETGEAR. I took it back today for a full refund refund.

I bought a Netgear AC750 at Walmart. When I tried to register it at first it says the Serial Number was incorrect, then it said it was registered by someone else. They wanted me to send copy of the bottom of router with the numbers then they wanted copy of the receipt. I bought it at Walmart along with my groceries so I took a picture and circled where it was listed and the price. Well, they keep saying they wanted a copy of the receipt. Well, that was my receipt. Walmart doesn't give a written receipt. But, they keep saying they want a copy of the receipt and they won't register the router to me. So, basically I am stuck with a router that I won't have any support for and I can't get it to work anyway. So, it is certain to say that I will not buy anything from Netgear.

NetGear extender

Netgear is a complete Fraud. The produce is less than 4 months old ... my carrier delivered a new wifi-router and I couldnt get my extender to work. I have about 10 devices that I use the extender for ... the customer service rep wanted to sell me a $200 a year extended warranty to help me with the configuration step 3 saying that he would provide tech support to all my other devices. I said to the rep I had never seen a warranty that was 2.5X the cost of the product. What a rip off. What ever you do ... stay away from this company and product ... totally scam! The only device in my house that doesn't work properly is netgear ... everything else has been running for years without problem. In order to get their product to work you have to pay them 2.5x what you paid for the product. Imagine if you bought a new ford or jeep and you paid $40K. 4 months later something with the car isn't working and its inoperable and you're told that in order to get the car working again you'll have to buy an extended warranty for $110K.

NetGear router - tech support

As I was setting up parental controls on my netgear genie account, which I had to log in to do, the screen closed on me. I had just used the "access enabled" function so that certain devices (unruly teen) in my house would need my password in order to use the wifi. It made it so I only entered one device that would work without the password before the screen shut me out and demanded my password again. When I tried to log back in it said my password was incorrect. It was not! I had just used it seconds prior with no problem. It gave me a tech support number to call so I called. After many of my minutes they said I would need to pay 99 dollars for them to reset my router because I didn't remember my password. Ridiculous. After much debate I said no thank you and did it on my own. No money. All done. Such a scam! BEWARE!

I purchased a Vuezone system many years ago prior to the time when they were owned by Netgear. The first system I had had two gateways. One with 2 cameras for free and one with 5 cameras that I paid 48 dollars annually. It allowed me to view my cameras at a remote house and to make sure all was safe. Then Netgear bought out Vuezone. It seemed like there were more " improvements" which kept the system unavailable for days . More recently there has been no support that I can find. Later there was a "pressure" to convert our system to "Arlo" a more expensive camera system which I did not like so I decided to stay with Vuezone. I usually try to save pictures by downloading them to my PC and then deleting them but all to often the download function does not work. Today, Netgear sent a notice that Vuezone will be discontinued next year in December. My plan is now beginning to replace their system with non Netgear equipment and to replace their routers as well. Why did you not just leave Vuezone alone and not buy them!
I have already purchased some cameras from a company called LOREX and for most this system will work fine. I can only view one camera at a time but it even has night vision.

NetGear not standing behind lifetime warranty

NetGear products list a lifetime warranty on their product but don't/won't stand behind the product and offer an RMA for product replacement when router not working properly. I made 4+ calls, was disconnected 4 times, and spent more than an hour and a half on hold during these four calls from which I was disconnected. All I was asking for was an RMA so that I could send this router back in order to have them send me one that worked. They wanted my credit card number in order to help me because I was out of the 90 day Tech Support window.
I spoke with tech reps 2886, 1493, 1301 and another, all from which I was disconnected at some point during the hold or tech support call process.
Not the kind of thing I'd expect when I'm calling a company with an issue about their product.
My recommendation - do not buy a NetGear router that indicates that it comes with a lifetime warranty on the box, thinking that there is any kind of warranty with the product. They are mis-representing their lifetime warranty support on the products and are very frustrating to deal with.

NetGear scam technical support

Purchased a Netgear wall mount range extender and did not get the "boost" I was expecting.
I called tech support and the tech asked to link to my laptop and I agreed to let him. The tech ran "msconfig" and said I had services stopped by a virus. He then ran a couple of IPCONFIG cmds and stated that I had over 400 Trojan viruses and that he would need about 45 minutes to get rid of them and that I would be charged. I declined to pay any money for what could not be true as I am diligent in scanning for viruses, rootkits, malware/adware and have a great deal of experience with virus removal.

NetGear power adaptor for a router

Netgear people are the most ridiculous. They wanted me find a part number which is not present on the power adaptor. Only Model number and serial number are there. So, they wanted me to travel 35 Kms to their service centre just to find the part number and then travel again later to get the power adaptor as I am in warranty. How can the service centre find a part number which is not at all on the adaptor? No more netgear..guys beware of the NETGEAR. I told I will send the pictures taken from all angles and alos zoomed. theyt are not ready to comply.BYE BYE NETGEAR FOREVER !

Bought a Netgear wifi router on 1/2/2014. It died yesterday (1/18/2015). So just 16 days after the warranty expired. That's not what you would expect from a $179 high-end router. And impossible to get service from BEst Buy about it...

NetGear tech support scam

BEWARE! DO NOT TRUST NETGEAR TECH SUPPORT! THEY WILL LIE TO YOU AND TRY TO SCARE YOU! AND THEN TRY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY!

I purchased a WiFi Range Extender, hoping to boost wifi connection in my house, only to find it not helping.
So I called Netgear tech support from the number that was in the manual.

I was connected to Andrew, a guy with a heavy Indian accent. I told him about the wifi problem and he then asked me to get on my PC and type in a site in my browser, which I did.
I DID NOT KNOW HE WAS GOING TO ACCESS MY PC REMOTELY! I was a little confused and felt a little violated! He was clicking on my files... asking me questions...
like, "Do I use online banking?"... telling me my wifi and router is not secure and that I had over 30 hackers connected to my PC and that is why the extender was
not working. He also said I should not do anything online until it is secure... basically trying to scare me...

He then told me my wifi connection is weak because of all the hackers connected to my network he can clean it up, as well as, secure my wifi for $300 for a year
support, $200 for 6 months or $100 for a one time cleanup!

That's when red flags went up! I didn't fall for it and told him so, he hung up quickly.

I later called Cox to confirm that my wifi connection is completely safe and secure.

I am returning the piece of crap extender today and will never purchase another Netgear product.

Do not fall for this scam!

I had exactly the same experience with support. My tech guy (Larry, who also sounded Indian) showed me a record of "hackers" in scary red font! He took the time to scare me then got me to a site where I was to fill out credit card info. I saw the $99.99 charge at bottom and asked him about it. He said it was to clean the system...make it secure. First time he mentioned anything about a cost. What a rip! I have since moved my extender closer to where my laptop is, connected to it via the "available networks" list, and the problem that I called for originally vanished.
