First off, let me say I am not one to write about poor service or for that matter good service. However, after thinking about it, I could not let it go un-noticed.

I chose Neighbors moving because a friend of mine worked there, which I didn't know until they called me after my on-line search. He said, do not worry, everything will go alright and that you will be in good hands...blah, blah, blah. I believed him.

I had no problems with the actual movers themselves. They were polite and professional. They did arrive late and asked for directions both times, but still good. What I did have a problem with is that the truck that arrived was smaller than what was told to me. Therefore, the movers were not able to get everything into the truck and I was told that the remainder of my items would be picked up the following Sunday by none other the manager of the company. More about this later-he had denied he ever said this. I have witnesses to the contrary. Well, Sunday came and went. When we called the office Sunday, the manager was not working-we were told that he never works on Sunday. Hmmm. Ok-so now what-well, after my husband and I called several more times that day, a female stated that someone may get out there that afternoon to get the stuff and put it in a storage facilty until they had another shipment to our location.

Well, you guessed it-our items were not picked up Sunday-we were now told it would be Monday morning at 8am. Again, 8am came and left-we were now told it would be around 1:30 now. Finally, the items were picked up and moved to a storage facility. To make this delay even worse-I was trying to facilitate the people moving into my property and had to keep delaying their arrival.

Now, for the exciting part of my story. We now were told that we would receive our items the following Wed-at the latest Friday. Ok...ok...we had to agree-they had the remainder of our things. Well Wed came and went-no call or email to tell us that Wed was out-in fact Thursday too. Friday arrived and I figured I would call-guess what...we were not going to get the remainder on Friday either. We were now told Sat is the day! Yes! Perfect...but we were told late in the day they would arrived and that they would call one hour in advance to give us a heads up. How great are they! Ok, so we came home in anticipation for the truck to arrive and it never came-nor was there a phone call telling us it would not be there. I then made another call to the dispatcher/manager and he said that they were running late and that we would get our things on Sunday morning and that the movers are going to be put up in a hotel since it was late. Ok, even at this point in time I still had some hope some belief that I was being told the truth-NOT!

Sunday morning came-I then called Neighbors again(knowing the manager/dispatcher) did not work on Sundays. We spoke to a female who could not help us. She said that she was unaware that any trucks are delivering in our area or nearby to our area. She stated she did not want to lie like the others. She told us that she would get back to us and let us know. No return call again...

More than a week has gone by...I have made every attempt to get the truth on when we were to get the remainder of our items. I have emailed the owner several times as well as left several voice messages stating all I wanted was our items and the truth on when to expect them. Nothing. In fact, during the week we did not receive any phone calls from the company apologizing or telling us the truth. My husband or myself made the calls to them. My last voicemail to the owner I basically pleaded to get this resolved...finally, I received a phone call from my friend saying they were going to come by the following day and there is no other trip they will make except ours.

Yes, the following day we did receive the remainder of our items! All is good again. One thing I would like to get from my complaint is for someone to respond and say they did not use them because of my story, it would make it all worth while. I have been spoken to by the manager, who will remain nameless, in such a disrespectful way-even hung up on. He lied to me stating that HE would drive up and drop it off. He would answer the phone and act like he did not know why we were calling again. He would put us on hold for long periods of time. No customer service skills at all. You would think in todays economy, customer service should be number one.

I am just glad it is over!

Neighbors moving is the biggest scam artists ### holes in the industry. DO NOT use them whatever you do. Liars, unprofessional, untrustworthy, complete ### artists. 9 lost boxes, numerous damaged goods, and they held our personal possessions hostage until we agreed to pay 3X the original estimate. ###ERS.

We had the same experiences as above. Neighbors sounded professional on the phone for our quote. Unfortunately, they are BROKERS and dont move the stuff themselves which they didn't tell us. A bunch of adolescent Romanian crooks showed up with a rented Ryder truck that was much too small. I told them it wouldn't fit and they said not to worry, they would get a second truck if necessary. They left with half our stuff and never brought another truck. We had to scramble to find another moving company last minute to move the second half of our stuff. They refused a reweigh, overcharged even for a full move, held our goods hostage until we paid, broke and damaged many items and furniture. We have filed a report with the Federal Dept of Transportation and I recommend anyone else do the same that had a similar problem. We are also going to file a lawsuit. Neighbors says they have NO responsibility for the moving company (Roma) which they hired. They are total crooks. DO NOT use them unless you want to be ripped off and have tons of headaches to deal with!

I will say that I wished that I would have seen this before I used them as welll. I moved out of state and was told that the total cost of my move would be 1989.16 or less due to my household goods my be less then the weight that they estimated and then was told that would be 2512.31 after I signed the not to exceed contract. You are absolutely right we need to make sure this company goes out of business. I was told after I called several times that I would be getting a call back and never received one and had to call them for a month straight before and was talked to like a 3 yr old child and had a dispatcher named John (yes I am name dropping cause I am tiered of the BS) and had him slam the phone on the counter and scream in the back ground "EVERY DAY, EVERY SINGLE DAY" and mind you that was after I was told that I would get a call the day the movers showed up to give me the weight of my goods and guess what the call never came. As well all know that it wouldn't. Once I arrived at the new state I called a few days after and then was told that I would not be getting my stuff unlit 7-30 days later. and then that's when I talked to John and her did what was done. I called back to speak with someone in the corp office and was trans to a voice mail. It took over a week for someone to finally get back to me. After about 3 weeks of calling people and being told that I would be getting a call back and at no surprise did not that they would refund me back one of the shuttle costs even though I was charged for two and took pics of the moving truck that showed up on the 31st day that I was still being charged for one of the shuttle cost. I will be contacting the BBB as welll as a lawyer due to the poor customer service as welll as the poor treatment of this company. NEVER USE THIS BS COMPANY THEY ARE A RIP OFF!

HORRIBLE MOVING EXPERIENCE

I have a major problem with Neighbors and the movers they contract out to, first they were a week late getting my stuff, next the truck i was promised was considerably smaller than what showed up and had other ppls stuff loaded and took up more than 3/4 of the truck. Because of the limited space on the truck I had to leave a considerable amount of my furniture behind. Finally the icing on the cake, I have an estimate for one price and after they put all of my stuff on the truck one hour before my flight they increased the price by more than $1000. I tried to call the owner to complain but, and this is the best part the mover's didn't come to move me until 1:30am and my flight left at 6am. Now I find out my stuff is on the other end of the country from where it should be and they're refusing to give me my stuff.

What recourse do I have in this situation?

Our move with Neighbors Moving was horrible! We were promised an over the cab truck, 3 movers, 3 free wardrobe boxes and 2 additional wardrobe boxes at our expense. The movers arrived in a rented truck with no tools or wardrobe boxes. The movers stated they were told the company had overbooked and they were to move our three bedroom home without any tools or dollie. This was to be done in +90 degree heat and +70 percent humidity. The movers stated this has happened before and their supervisor, Cody, stated it is more hours to bill a customer. Before our furniture was unloaded we had to pay for the full move using an estimate of the amount of time it would take to unload. The bill was way over the amount of the estimate. When I questioned the supervisor Cody about the travel time he threatened to hold my furniture until I could talk to their Corporate office two days away. Neighbors Moving only lets you talk to their customer service regarding complaints and does not give a customer any names of managers to report their unethical supervisors or business practices. I strongly suggest if you are moving, do not use this company.

I am now in tears over what this company has done to me. I have two autistic children ... I was promised a pick up on Sunday between 12 and 4. Sunday came and went with no calls and no pick up. Monday I was told they would be here at 5. That came and went, no pick up. I called and talked to some guy who said he was a Supervisor that said he was going to try to find someone to do the move. I called back at 8 and asked him (calmly) if he thought I should try to find another company. He cursed my out, told me he was cancelling my move, and hung up on me. This company is ###! They rope you in then screw you over. I am a mess right now.

This is probably the worst business transaction I have ever experienced. They promised an hourly rate to move my piano with certified piano movers. It ended up being about twice the price (almost 500 dollars) that was promised initially. Neighbors changed the time they were going to show up numerous times, the movers got lost about 7-8 times (I had to direct them over the phone, and they even got lost multiple times after that). The movers were clearly not knowledgable piano movers. They banged up the piano, and damaged both houses, and took much longer by getting lost and not knowing HOW to move piano, as I was paying by the hour. When I tried to talk to the manager he hung up, and had absolutely NO intention of resolving the matter. If this is how they do business, I'm surprised they're still working. I have NEVER written a negative view like this, this company truly has the award for the most malicious, unethical and fraudulent group of people I have encountered in a long time! Spread the word, stay away from Neighbors moving unless you want to get jacked, lied to and your furniture destroyed!

Wow, I am so sure this is the company I used for my move in 2006 .. I had 1 blond guy and 2 hispanics. I was lowballed a quote and then the truck was too small (not really, they just didn't use all the room available ...) the truck didn't start, either, lol.

They took care of most of the big stuff, but alas, didn't take care of it all. They said because it was getting dark, the (the manager) would personally return to pick up the rest of the stuff ... did he? Nope. And it was right before Christmas .. I was stupid and tipped them really REALLY well, hoping they would come back in the morning, but ... nope. Lol. I ended up having to rent a UHAUL and finish it on my own .. Oh yeah, and I was 2 weeks out from 2 torn ligaments and broken bone in my foot ... it was "nice" having to move the rest of the upstairs stuff downstairs with my crutches and cast ... yup.

I just used Neighbors moving and storage and they charged us double the quote they initially gave us! and Tried to lie to justify it. I made a complaint to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU...you should complain too. The only way to get these companies to clean up their act is to make a formal complaint that will hit them where it hurts...in their pocket. complain to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!

I used this company recently. They lowball a quote on the phone and when it comes time
for the actual move, they give a higher rate. At this time we have to agree for the higher
rate since we have all out stuff packed and are read to move. The movers are highly
unprofessional. They arrived 4 hrs late and did not do their job.

NEIGHBORS MOVING AND STORAGE IN KENT WA IS A SCAM! THEY DID MY MOVE AND THINGS WHERE STOLEN, BROKEN, SCATCHED AND I WAS TOLD THAT "ITS NOT THERE PROBLEM". THEY HIRE ILLEGAL MEXICANS. WE NEED TO HAVE IMMAGRATION GO THROUGH THERE AND TAKE DOWN THIS BUSINESS. THEY LIE TO EVERYONE ABOUT PRICES AND AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU GET OVER CHARGED. THEY CHARGED ME DOUBLE FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD AND I DIDNT HAVE ALOT OF STUFF. THIS COMPANY IS JUST LIKE THE COMPANY 2 MEN ONE TRUCK. THEY WERE RECENTLY CLOSED. THE MEN THAT CAME OUT TO MY PLACE WERE RUDE AND DIDNT REALLY HANDLE MY STUFF WITH CARE. I ENDED UP BEING CHARGED FOR THEM WRAPPING MY COUCH, DRESSER, ECT WHEN IT SAYS ON THERE WEBSITE AND I WAS TOLD THAT ITS FREE. LETS PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS! EVERYONE REPORT EVERYWHERE YOU CAN.

Neighbors moving and storage in kent wa is a scam. They hire illegal mexicans and act like they have been in the moving industry for years. I had them come move my stuff and things where stolen broke scratched. I tryed to file a claim and they wouldnt go through with it. I would never use this company again! They need to be shut down because they are robbing people blind. They say that you will not be charged for them to wrap everything but tell me why at the end of the day i had to pay an extra $150 because they wrapped my couch and dressers when it says on there website/ phone ring back that its all FREE. The people in the office are a joke, they sit there and try to argue with you and dont try to solve the problem. They say "its not our fault". DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! We need to work together to get this company out of here and get a better moving company in there place.

Unfortunately my cousin just got scammed by this company too--same treatment as others have reported here. For all of you who have been scammed by Neighbors, contact the BBB, District Attorney consumer affairs office, TV/radio consumer reporters, every consumer website that you can report them too, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Time to put these people out of business!

Thanks for sharing your story Denny! I wish I had seen it before I agreed to use them! but trust me, word of mouth goes a long way so I am confident these criminals will be missing out on service thanks to us. I am in the process of being scammed by them. I haven't even been able to schedule the second half of my move from their storage facilities (where all my belongings are) because they have been so unresponsive and once they were, they told me I owed them an additional 850 dollars above the agreed upon price! what do I do? Do I go to the cops? lawyer? I would rather let them take my old couches rather then pay them another $850 dollars! My move was a very small amount of stuff, locally in Denver. any advice is much appreciated!
