NCO Financial Debt collection letter on paid account

Received a letter stating a small medical bill had been turned over to them for collection. The bill NCO is trying to collect had already been paid in full. Luckily, I pay my bills online and have an email receipt from the medical facility showing the bill paid and date of payment. When I tried to access the NCO website -was going to paste the email to their site- their site was conveniently down for "maintenance." It should be illegal to attempt to collect on non-existing debt.

NCO Financial Harrassment and unprofessionalism

First of all, let me just say how APALLED I am at the replies left by NCO Financial Companies. I don't know what kind of professionalism you people call yourself having, but you all need to be ashamed of yourselves! If I went on the attack about the complaints received about the company I work for using profanity and calling people names, I know if my superiors found out about it, my job would be yanked away from me like a designer sweater at a bargain sale. That's the first thing. The second thing is that this company has been harassing my husband about bogus debt created by missing tolls. My husband has had an I-pass unit ever since I have known him and we have been together for more than two years and he has always kept the unit current. We get this letter stating that he owes them this money and that if he didn't protest within a certain amount of time, that we owed them over two hundred dollars. I sent them a check and a month later, I get it returned to me saying that they can't find the account to apply it to and could I please send my credit card information along with my social security number. What? I am not blindly turning over my social security number for some debt that I am sure is bogus. I have since reported these people to the federal trade commission. I am glad that I found out that NCO is really a scam and that I have been smart enough to invesitage them before giving them any money.

There are two workplace psychopaths at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine using this treacherous company --NCO-- to gain illegal access to an employee's credit history, for the purpose of harassment by proxy. NCO is used so there is no trail that can be traced back to the University of Pennsylvania miscreants. As one of the tactics for ongoing employee and ex-employee harassment, NCO places bogus adverse items on an employees credit history. I know you (Linda C. McCrae) are one of the key people behind this. I've known for a long time. These incidents began and increased the moment you copied social security number off a required institutional form. This is how I know it was you who started this. Not to mention one of the ex-employees of NCO has "spilled the beans, " so to speak. You are morally sick-- woman.

Even though I've had the negative items removed from my credit histories. NCO is periodically checking my reports every three months to give the University of Pennsylvania workplace psychopaths, both, and update on my whereabouts and activities.

NCO Financial Fraud

I was made aware that I am a part of a lawsuit and involved in NCO Financial fraud. They sent paper work to the wrong address. Since I became aware of this, I am asking for new paperwork, to be sent to me at 14 Brookside Drive in Sewell, NJ 08080. I didn't commit the fraud the company NCO Financial did! Since i worked for that company in glassboro, nj 08028, I was made aware i am involed in a lawsuit where they are being sued and owe there employees money. I want the monies i am entitled to and have tried numerous times to contact NCO Financial, no call backs after i left tons of messages and even spoke to managers and HR dept. I would like to receive my money i believe they owe my personally somewhere around $2600. They messed up since day 1 that i worked there. My address, my contact info. ect. I am about to file my own private lawsuit against NCO financial for a lot more than the twenty six hundred dollars they owe me. They have not sent me my last months paycheck, when i worked there. I was fired because I brought it to everyones attention what they were doing and the next couple days was fired. I am going to persue this till i am satisfied. AND I WILL WIN. I HAVE ALL MY PAPER WORK, CONTRACTS, AND PAYSTUBS. EVEN A MANAGERS NOTE PROMISING ME MY MONEY OF $ 733 THEY OWE THIS AMOUNT TIMES 4, WHICH IS $2, 932 THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY LAST PAYCHECK, BUT THEY CLOSED THE DOORS AND NEVER PAID ME AND A FEW OTHERS I WILL SUPENA TO COURT WHEN IT COMES TIME. TO AVOID THE EMBARESSMENT PLEASE SEND THE CHECK TO 14 BROOKSIDE DRIVE IN SEWELL, NJ 08080. AND THE PAPER WORK TO FILL OUT FOR THE LAWSUIT I AM ALREADY INVOLVED IN FOR WORKING MY BUTT OF FOR THAT COMPANY! THIS IS NOT FAIR! I AM ENTITLED TO THE MONEY I EARNED. IT'S NOT MY FAULT THEY SCAMMED EVERYONE AND WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. THE LAWSUIT IS FOR THOSE WHO WORKED FOR NCO FINANCIAL AFTER 2007, I WORKED FOR THEM IN 2007AND 2008 THEN THEY WERE SHUT DOWN. PLEASE DO US ALL A FAVOR AND SEND THIS MONEY AND PAPER WORK TO AVOID A PUBLIC EMBARRASEMENT AND LAWSUIT. I FEEL THEY HAVE ENOUGH LAWSUITS AS IS. I DONT WANT TO ADD ANOTHER, BUT WILL IF THIS IS NOT RESOLVED.

NCO of Horhsam, PA is fraudulent. They aided and abetted two psychopaths at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine to harass an employee. The reason I know this was started through Linda C. McCrae is because the second phone line pinpoints her guilt directly. Let me explain. The employee has two lines on the phone that he/she answers for the company (UPenn). It was decided that the second of the two lines would be the direct line for that employee, while the first line remained the main incoming call line for the department. Not long after talking with Linda C. McCrae about this did the harassment calls from NCO and others began coming in directly on the particular line assigned to the employee. NCO could have only gotten the number from Linda C. McCrae because the employees never listed an employer on his/her credit report. The employee never gave any work numbers out to friends, family, or associates whosoever. And all the people who worked in the department and University knew to get in touch by calling the main number which was the first line. There are other direct facts and instances that directly points to Linda C. McCrae involvement in this NCO proxy harassment. I will explain later. I was told by a representative of Equifax today that it is illegal for NCO or other collection agencies to share their access to people credit histories with third parties (UPenn Employees).

NCO Financial NCO Financial Fraud

I received a letter from NCO stating I owed nearly $100 for a medical bill for my child that had been turned over to them to collect. My child had not been to the doctor for 8 months, the bills from which were minimal since I am retired military and I have pretty good insurance. The buills I did get were paid in full 3 months prior to NCO sending this letter. So, my wife calls and speaks with a Mr. Parkes at NCO. Mr. Parkes was anything but helpful. He lied to my wife by telling her he did not have access to any information and he repeatedly told her that if she woulf pay her bills she would not get collection notices. Mr. Parkes was very rude and indignant the entire call. I called back and spoke with a Mrs. Cook who was very helpful and did have access to all of the information I asked about (Thus Mr. Parks I believe is a liar). Mrs. Cook examined the information she had and she assessed that there seems to be a discrepancy since the numbers did not add up or match. Account numbers were wrong, amounts were wrong etc...the only thing they seemed to have correct was the medical office my child was seen, our names, and my address. I informed Mrs. Cook that I have proof that my bill was paid and the check I sent had been cashed 3 months ago. I ended my conversation with Mrs. Cook by asking to speak to a supervisor because I wanted to lodge a complaint about Mr. Parkes. I was put on hold and had the opportunity to speak with a person named Shane (He said he was the only Shane there). I verbalized my complaint with Shane and expressed that Mr. Parkes treatment of my wife was not at all professional and wat not at all acceptable. Shane told me he would document my complaint and forward it to Mr. Parkes direct supervisor. The next day (today) I called the medical office where my child was treated and spoke to a lady in the billing department Mrs. S (I have her name however I do not wish to publish it here). Mrs. S quickly looked up my history and the medical offices records indicate that my bill was paid in full on the same date that my records show, and my account had not been sent to collections, there was nothing to send to collections since the account was paid in full. For the record I have kept this complaint, as much as I could, just to the facts. I have done my best not to inject my personal feelings. I will say that this seems a little "fishy". I believe NCO, in my case anyway, had no grounds, it turns out, what so ever to send me a letter of collection. I am feeling certain, had I just paid the amount they were asking for, I would have been out some cash. I also am quite certain, that if any man were to speak to my wife in the manner Mr. Parkes did, I would break his jaw. A real man or a gentleman would never speak to a layy as such. Mr. Parkes in my opinion is a true ###. The number I called was [protected] if anyone is interested in giving them a call.

NCO Financial Inappropriate calling

These people keep calling me from these numbers asking for account information from me when I do not have debt and I have never had debt. I don't even have credit. I've never banked with capital one and they keep trying to get my information! I'm sick of this! The numbers they've been calling me from are [protected] and [protected]. If there is any way to shut this down, look into it's validity, etc, that would be great. They're trying to scam me and god knows how many people they've already scammed! I looked online to see many many reports of fraudulent debt they claim to be collecting. I'm not giving my little bit of money to anyone I don't owe anything to and poor innocent people shouldn't have to be harassed like this.

NCO Financial HARRASING PHONE CALLS/ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT ON BILLS THAT HAVE BEEN PAID/PRIVACY HIPPA INFRACTION

GOOD AFTERNOON,

I AM COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS NCO FINANCIAL GROUP. FIRST OF ALL THEY CALLED ME AT MY PLACE OF WORK ABOUT BILLS THAT I WENT THROUGH A CREDIT COUNCELING PLACE ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO AND WAS CLEARED OF THE BILLS. THEY CALL ME TODAY STATING I DIDN'T PAY THEM AFTER 2000 AND 2001 BILLS THAT I CORRECTED WITH THIS CREDIT COUNCELING. THEY ALSO ATTEMPTED TO REACH ME THROUGH MY CO WORKERS PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER. THEY CALLED MY CO WORKER 3 TIMES AT THE NIGHT BEFORE, SO SHE CALLED THEM BACK NOT KNOWING WHAT THEY WANTED, THEY WERE CALLING FOR ME. I NEVER GAVE ANY INFORMATION TO THEM, ALSO HOW DID THEY GET H ER PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER? SO I CALLED BACK VERONICA AT [protected] WHO IS NCO FINANCIAL AND TOLD HER THAT I FELT THAT WAS A VIOLATION OF THE HIPA LAW AND NOT TO CALL MY WORK AGAIN AND ALSO I GAVE HER NUMBER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND SHE SAID OK. CAN SOMETHING BE DONE ABOUT THEM? THEY REALLY UPSET ME TODAY, AND MAKING ME SICK.

Know your rights - look up the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, then do the following:

1. Get a recording device and put the next conversation on speaker.
2. Before they start their tirade, ask if you can record the conversation (required if your state requires it, otherwise, record away).
3. Have them start from the beginning, say what they need to say, and you ask what you should ask (you should know the FDCPA to know what to ask for).
4. Count the violations.
5. Profit - it's $1, 000 per infraction, so they have now paid you for your time.

HIPAA only applies to your Medical information not your phone number. Thats why its called HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY ACT.

NCO Financial False informaqtion provided. Rude, insulting managers. They don't want to hear you when you have a complaint

SHAKINA AND MR MONROE FROM NCO FINANCIAL AT [protected]- Were extremly rude they hung up on me they would not let me speak. They told me false information that what I settled with Shakina was not going to to show on my credit the unpaid half. I later called the company I was disputing the bill with and they said YES it would. They have yet to submit the claim so I do understsand that. Shakina said, " IT WILL NOT POST ON YOUR CREDIT." Then she later stated, " there could be a possibility." At the time of my call to settle my debt on OCTOBER 15, 2009. She was very polite into taking my credit card information. But when I called today to clearify the LIE she told me. I told her she was contradicting herself. She told me to hold on. I waited paitiently for 26 mins on a silent hold. I was tired of waiting I called back and I was recording the call because this seems illegal to me. I let her know I was waiting for 26 mins she said, " oh you could have I am working?" I could not believe this. She then said ok hold on and transfered me to someone's voicemail. I could not believe this so I called back a couple of times and got MR. MONROE. I was thinking he was going to be professional and he was not I was in the middle of my sentences and he said well since your going to do all the talking I am going to hang up and I let him know I was recording this abuse and he said ok and hung up. I am going to post this on more than this website. If the situation is not corrected or if when I call back I am getting mistreated I will continue for as long as I can to get to the bottom of these people in NCO SYSTEMS NCO FINACIAL SYSTEMS NCO DEBT COLLECTORS SAME-

NCO Financial Simply awful

I have a HUGE situation about NCO Financial. i am in the Army, and they offer to pay 100% of tuition using the EAP. i went to school from [protected], and eap paid the school directly. at the time, the school was actually getting paid an overage of $187 a quarter, which went to my books and supplies (still no out of pocket expenses) turns out that AES got involved somewhere along the way, saying that i owe the full amount of the tuition in student loans, totalling $12, 000. i said whoa whoa, the army is supposed to pay this, and i didn't even know anything about me having student loans in the first place, so i kept referring queries about this to the Army. after a few years, i get a phone call from the lovable Bob Neil from... come to think of it, he never told me where he was from, until i called back and heard 'NCO Financial' i was clueless. Still, i had no clue what the heck NCO Finalcial was... anyways, this guy is super rude to me, spouting on and on about what he can do to me to make my life miserable, that he took my income tax refunds, and that he is about to garnish 100% of my wages. i told him you cannot to that, he said that according to some new law passed 2 months ago, he could. i asked what the website is with this new law, he avoided answering me, and instead kept threatening me. he would ask a question and when i would try to answer he would just keep talking rudely. he told me that we could setup a credit recovery thing or whatever and if i make payments until the EAP thing gets straightened out with the school, they wouold totally refund all moneys they took from me 100%. in my own stupidity i agreed, so i gave them my account info. they took out 200$ the day they said they would, then i get a call 3 days later from the tool mr neil saying my check bounced. i asked him 'what check' and said you guys took the money out. he told me that he has a slip from my bank stating 'innsufficient funds' which was B.S., because the funds were there the whole time. this a-hole told me that i had toll 8pm that nite to get someone to give me their credit card info to pay this 'again' or he would take all my paychecks. i refused, and he said 'ohhhh you'll be sorry. what can be done about this? feel free to email me anytime.

NCO Financial Unauthorized debits from account

I have been paying a debt with NCO for about 2 years. I made a settlement with a gentleman and then everytime i call back for something i have to reiterate everytime who gave me that settlement. Well i decided to setup monthly withdrawals from my account to pay for the debt which they were suppose to debt twice a month on the days i indicated.

These people are notorious for taking the money out when it is not suppose to and then acting like it is my fault. They have cost me over a $100 in NSF fees.
Be aware, if they demand a monthly withdrawal every month, you better make sure there is money in there to cover the next payment to. Otherwise they will get you when you are not paying attention.

I am also a victim of this practice. They led me to believe that if I didn't work with them they would file for garnishment regardless if I can afford their "plan" or not. I felt coerced into this and did the dastardly deed of giving them my account information. Twice they took money out of my account which was unauthorized, caused an issue of excessive overdrafts, the bank would not cooperate and I in turn was out of a substantial amount of money in fees and overdrafts. This placed me in a situation which I was unable to pay my rent and utilities. I contacted them about it and they made it seem it was my fault eventhough I made the phone call to stop the payment within their specified timeline. (Yes, it is my fault for giving them my account information, but I was willing to work with them.)

I asked them to provide me in writing what the program entailed, the amount I really owed, the schedule and/or interest involved and why isn't the balance getting any smaller. They in turn did not send me anything I requested. Within the same month, I closed my account so they will not put me in another situation as they did previously and they were notified that the account has been closed. The following month, they filed for garnishment (I was not notified by NCO of their actions) and the human resource dept at my job put it through without notifying me as to whether there was merit or an opportunity to dispute. HR notified me 2 days prior to payday and I was told that nothing could be done since I did not meet their deadline which was 3 days before I received the document which was sent interoffice mail. (What's wrong with that picture?) I was blind sided and not protected at all. Now, I am in a serious financial situation caused by NCO. They got me and now I have to figure out what to do as they told me that I have to pay them a ridiculous amount of monies to stop the garnishment. I know how much I owe, but the amount they have is substantially inflated.

Whatever you do, NEVER give them your account information, but do all that you can to find out where else you can pay monies that you owe so that you will know where you stand with a running balance, trailing documents and hopefully avoid garnishment and possible termination as a result. They will stoop as low as contacting other people at your job to find out if you are there or in meetings. These people are relentless and they will cause you to be questioned at job by their unethical practices.

NCO Financial Unauthorized charges

NCO Financial took over the servicing of two student loans when one of three co-signers filed chapter 13 bankruptcy, Note: the payments were still being made on-time by one of the other co-signers. Needless to say, NCO Financial representatives began calling constantly and the company continued to mail statements with a new fee called 'Other Charges.'

The total of these 'Other Charges' are now over $1200.00 and we are filing a lawsuit against the company for several reasons. 1) NCO Financial added the 'Other Charges' to the account and have refused to explain why, in writing, and continue to charge this fee. 2) Even though the previous lender, EDUCAP, Inc, said they could have the 'Other Charges' removed if NCO would put in writing what the NCO representative said over the phone, NCO continues to refuse to put their comments in writing. 3) EDUCAP, Inc, the original lender, did not charge this extra fee and it was added by NCO, when NCO took over the account. 4) The payments have always been paid on-time! even though one of the co-signers filed CH 13 bankruptcy!

NCO Financial is the worst company we've EVER had to deal with!

NCO Financial Calling me to get at a family member

NCO Financial called me at work (at work!) wanting me to pass along a message to a family member who had been turned over to them. I orded them to never ever call me again, and especially not at work. However, I used my cell phone to return the call. Today they called my cell phone. I have had it! I have an excellent credit score, and yet they are harassing me with the hope that I will harass a family member. Is that even legal? Can a company really call me and harass me in order to get at a family member (not a spouse, mind you) . . . I called my brother and found out that he too has been harassed by NCO Financial with the same request to have our family member call NCO Financial. This is beyond ridiculous! Both my brother and I have very good credit scores and should not be getting called by a collection agency. NCO apparently has no boundaries, and, based on what I have read online that led me to this complaint forum, no regard for the law.

Ticked off
You have the right to be ticked off. What they did was illegal. if you can prove that they called you at your work place, about a non dependant family member, you and that family member could be able to collect from them. It sounds like they violated about three to four FDCPA laws. Go to my web site, http://www.beatthedebtcollector.com/index.htm and look at the FDCPA section. On the home page, and sponsor page you can find products that can help you deal with these slime balls. You must stand for your rights and make them pay for their abuses. NCO Financial Unsolicited phone calls

Do not take calls from NCO Financial. They find your personal information by using unauthorized credit inquires. Once they have a number for you, they will call you multiple times per day. I made the mistake of talking to them one time, the rep kept asking me for my ssn. I told here that I would not give that information out over the phone.

She got very angry and then had her supervisor on the phone. The supervisor was very belittling to me and did everything she could to get my ssn and other personal information from me. She was very rude. I took their website information. The supervisor told me that I had to put in a bunch of information they gave me to look at why they needed all my personal information.

After finally hanging up (I was tired of the abuse) I checked out the site. Again they wanted me to put in all this personal information to view what the call was all about. Luckily I did not give them any information over the phone or on the net. The supervisor called me back 15 minutes after we ended the original phone call and asked if I had gone to the site.

I told her that I had but I refused to put in any personal information. Needless to say, the phone call went downhill from there and I ended up hanging up on her. That was 6 months ago. Since then everyday I receive 1-5 calls per day from NCO. About 1 out of every 6 calls they leave a computer generated message. I now have 3 different phone numbers that they use. I have done much research on them and their practices.

I wish that once the calls had started I had logged every one. I am now keeping a log of every contact and every message they leave. I am not sure how many calls it takes to be considered harassment but I figure if I keep the log up I will not have a problem with reporting them to the FTC.

I also just found out that they have found me by unauthorized credit inquires and will take action with the 3 credit reporting agencies to ensure that they never can pull my report again. Never give them funds. Do your homework. They get your money and keep it. It does not go to the company you owe. It will not show as a settled account on your report if you pay them.

I got a call at work one day when i was not there. It was NCO calling about a debt they just had received to collect on. When i came to work the next NCO had notified my boss why they were calling. They told him who i owed and the full amount and the amount i was past due. I think that should be illegal because of identity theft and privacy act.

Too many errors and misleadingf info in complaint!
Don't know where to start! ahhh!

First you have the right to refuse personal info if asked.

Two..why did u stay on the ph so long and suffer that abuse? I would have asked f or some1 else or hung up and called back another time and spk to some1 else.

You must have multiple collections that NCO is handling if you are having different num to call back.

Three..unauthorized credit inquiries..more info please! When you take out a CC all that fine print you agree to having all sorts of personal info being released thru credit reporiting agencies and or financial institutions etc..READ THE FINE PRINT ALWAYS!

Four...funds not forwarded to the creditor? I find that hard to believe that a big compnay like NCO will be liable for millions of dollars for not forwarding hundreds or a few thousands to the creditor that the fudnsare supposd to go to. That is why thy giuve u all sorts of authorixation numbers, tracxkingnum, verification nums etc. I keep them for my files so I get credit for the right acct. If fund are misplaced that is what the tracking num is for they can tracdk the pymt andf give me the credit if there is an error.

(sigh) cant type more too much this will become a novel!?! lol!:P

In a nutshell a little common sense goes a long way.

Know who you are paying and for what acct. Keep all verification and proof of pymt if something goes wrong.

If it's an honest mistake and can be corrected ..ok if it is ABUSE then use the full extent of the law to punsi hthem whjere it hurts in the pocketbook $$$$

This is COMPLETELY AGAINST FDCPA RULES if you read in article (s) 804 and 805 it states that the collector is not permitted to contact any third party and disclose any pertitnent information on the debtor as well as in article 805 not allowed to contact you at your place of employment. You can get a copy of the rules and regulations on the web when you google the FDCPA (that stand for Fair Debt Collections Practices Act) this is a consumers rights and regulations guidelines when it comes to collections. I used to be a bill collector so I know these laws pretty well. I hope this helps and good luck to you.

You can also contact your Attorney General's Office and The Federal Trade Commission to file a complaint against NCO for their wrong doings. This will not cost you anything or you may want to get an attorney which will cost but it may be worth it to you I don't know, but they did violate your rights with third party disclosure.

I received a call and my machine got it... so i called wondering what it could be for since all our bills are up to date. They said for monitoring or what ever reason they were going to tape the call and I said so am I. the person on the other end said " she could not talk to me if i was going to record the conversation" and I said well your taping me. she hung up. I tried to call back there was no response. My phone has the record option now i know what to do!

This very much is illegal. I would report them especially if your boss said something to you about it.

NCO Financial Collections on debt that is not owed

We traded in our Surburban in December 5, 2007. We made our original monthly payment but then went to the dealership and found another vehicle we wanted to buy so we traded in the Surburban. The dealership PAID OFF the Surburban and we were told to stop payment on the check so we did because GMAC would have gotten a double payment.

It is now September 15, 2008 and we received a letter from NCO financial that we now owe this payment for the vehicle that we were told to stop payment on. We immediately called GMAC and asked what was going on. They told us the account was PIF and there was nothing to worry about and they sent us letter to send to NCO so they would clear my name and stop with all correspondence.

To date they have harrassed my wife with several rude calls during the day saying they will not "listen to long winded stories because they have bigger and better fish to fry".

We have filed complaints with BBB in PA, Attorney General in our home state and the Federal Trade Commission.

They have put this debt on my credit bureau which dropped my beacon score immencely and they will have it repaired as soon as I am finished. I will fight until the end my friend.

This is a debt I do not owe. I have all the letters and documentation to back up my end of the story. I will be filling a complaint the the three credit bureaus on my next agendas.

NCO Financial Harassment

NCO attempted to contact me in regards to a debt I had owed Capital One Auto Finance. My car was totaled in August 2006 and the loan was not fully covered by the insurance company and GAP insurance. Capital One discharged the total (which shows on my credit report as of 2/22/08).

Around the beginning of May 2007, I received a call from NCO, stating that I owed them the money. I had not received a single thing in the mail from them, not to mention it had already been discharged. I told them I did not owe the money, would not pay them anything and to not call me again.

They continued to call me, but I stopped answering their calls. Since they never left messages, this left them able to call several more times in a day. Soon after, I received a call from my father, stating that he received a call from NCO, at his home, in regards to me. They told him that I needed to contact them immediately. First of all, I NEVER give my fathers home number out, not even for reference purposes. Which means, they had to research to find my fathers number, in order to call him. I immediately called them and informed them not to call him again. I told the lady that what they were doing is illegal and harassing. She got rude with me and told me it was not, that they could do whatever they needed to do to get me to call them.

Two months later, even after telling them not to call my father again, they did. This time, they told him that they needed to verify my phone number and address. He told them he would verify it, if they gave him the information. Of course they told him they could not do that.

Tonight I filed a report with the FDCPA and advise anyone else who has a similar problem with NCO to do the same.

I apparently have the phone number of someone that is in collections with NCO. Despite the fact that I have told them about 5 times now that no one named "Stefan" lives at my home, they continue to call back continually. I am ready to slap a restraining order on this company. I have spoken to several different representatives, explaining to all of them that this is MY phone # now and I do not know who Stefan is. They rudely hang up on me, even when I am polite about it. I am tired of being harrassed by them in error.

I had a similar experience. I was contacted by NCO regarding an outstanding balance on an old mobile phone. The NCO rep explained that the account had not been reported to the credit agencies and if I pay the debt in full the account would not be reported. I was unsure about the legitimacy of the debt, but it may have been valid, and the outstanding balance was low enough to pay simply to avoid the credit dispute process. Long story short...I paid the account on the spot, in full, and 30 days later it shows up on my credit report with an unpaid balance. This is no way to be treated.

Just like the home depot card is underwritten by citibank.

NCO Financial Scam and cheating!

Just received a CP2000 from the IRS about a 1099C that NCO filed.I had proven that i was not the person they were looking for. They had wrong DOB, state of residence, middle initial and SSN#. Sent them documentation on everything except my SSN#.They continued to call and threaten until, wanting to prove once and for all that I wasn't their man, I gave them my SSN#. Calls stopped immediately after that. Thought it was finished.

NOW I SEE WHY THEY NEEDED MY SSN#. They needed to attach this debt to someone so they could write it off. Have no documentation, NCO never sent me anything, not even a copy of 1099C. Now I have to pay taxes and penalties on a debt that was never mine. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

This review was chosen algorithmically as the most valued customer feedback.

I am writing to let you know that NCO Financial has been calling my house and asking for someone that does not live here and we have never heard of the person they are looking for. How do I file a complaint and possiable harassment charges on this company? We have told them over and over again they have the wrong number. This had happened several months ago and it stopped for a few months but has started back up this week.
