Nationwide Financing Scam and cheating

Nationwide Financing or Money Tree is a total scam just as the others here have indicated here. They pushed us to purchased warm referrals. They were suppose to be only customers of Nationwide Financing who were purchasing a home or refinancing and in need of homeowners insurance. They were suppose to be customers of theirs who had signed an authorization for us to contact them about insurance. As the others mentioned about this company, none of it was true. We did receive some names and phone numbers, but none of them were Nationwide Financing customers and none of them were purchasing or refinancing a home. None of them were warm referrals and none of them wanted to hear from us.

We have made dozens of attempts to call, fax and email Nationwide Financing and the people who sold us the scam, but none of them have returned a phone call. When we did happen to catch one of them answering the phone, we were put on hold and hung up on. Two of the names we spoke to originally are Andrea Wiley and Mark Smith, neither of which will return calls, emails, letters or faxes.

I don't know what good it will do, but we have notified the FBI and the Better Business Bureau. Apparently they have been operating this scam for several months, so I don't know how they are still in business and not behind bars.

Nationwide Financing BEWARE OF FAKES!!!!!!

BEWARE OF FAKES!
I work for Nationwide Finances, one of the most successful referral services all over the country. We work with over 900 agents and around 80 lenders from Hawaii to New York. We have been in business for 15 years, and are proud to say that we are among the top referall services in the United States. This FAKE company, Nationwide FinanCING (who made their name to look VERY similar to ours!) have only been in business for about 2 years, and ABSOLUTELY ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH US! They claim to be in the same city as us, and provide EXACTLY the same services we do. After some in-depth research by our I.T department, we found that they are not even located in the same state! We called their phone number (Which happened to be a CELL PHONE that they must have ordered from California, because it has the same area-code as ours) for a few weeks, finally got a hold of them, and realized the "company" was no more than a few scammers using a similar name to rip off hard working real estate agents and brokers. Make sure to pay attention to the company name. A few letters is the only way to tell the difference between us and the fakes! These scammers will promise you the same buyers that we provide, and never deliver them! Make sure, when talking to anybody who even sounds like us, to ask for a reference number of another agent that we are already working with, so you can do your research THOROUGHLY. The other companies will not be able to give you such a number if they are one of these fake companies. Remember agents...NATIOWIDE FINAN C-I-N-G is not the same as Nationwide Finan C-E-S! These Scammers have given our company a bad reputation with a number of agents I have already spoken with, and it makes me furious that these pour agents have been scammed by these horrible people. We have been trying to take the owners to court for quite a while, but they manage to keep their operations legal (SOMEHOW!) and stay out of trouble. We are doing our best do put them out of business, as we do not want these scammers to give anymore people a negative opinion about the Real Nationwide. Unfortunately, a lot of people can not tell the difference between us and them. Remember everybody...DO YOUR RESEARCH!

if these people make a promise and say they are covering a certain medical prole. Is there any legal way to tape it and sue them or make them pay it. Should I get a lawyer to listen in on phone?
How do you tape it. This is new to me but I am sick f it and until they start getting in trouble they will continue. Better yet I would like to see t hem have to pay!
What do you think.

Nationwide FinanCES...I have the contract on my desk. We purchased home insurance leads for "prospects" that are supposed to be purchasing or refinancing their home. Complete SCAM! Worthless leads...it doesn't matter how good you are if the #'s are disconnected. Before we call, we check on the assessors site to get some home information. Their lead will say $299, 000 loan amount for a home that's not worth $50k. The "prospects" we have been in touch with have no clue why we are calling them and are in no way buying or refinancing a home. We've called Nationwide FinanCES & they blame the poor quality of the leads on their "Filters". We called for the last 8 days straight for this issue and today the rep said there were no notes of us reporting any issue and said that it will be taken care of tomorrow. This is what we hear every day..."I will forward this to my I.T. department and should be fixed tomorrow". So far...40+ leads we have received have been returned and replaced with another 40+ bad leads. They want you to keep paying your monthly fee so they can keep replacing the bad leads. Lets see, If I purchase 100 leads a month, & 100 leads are bad. Next month I have to buy another 100 bad leads to get the previous 100 leads replaced. Then I'll have 200 bad leads, etc...etc... Yes I'm mad and hope this helps you make the decision to not use Nationwide FINANCES!

Great results what are these comments talking about. I've been using Nationwide Finances for a very long time now. I'm going to stress the fact that every insurance agent in the world is a sales agent. I have agents who i give the same leads to who cant close, and I give right back the agent who can close and closed the actual same deal. If it's a matter of getting leads, numbers or any type of referral you still need the other guy to like you on the other end. But overall Nationwide Finances has been breath a fresh air in my sales force.

Not true! Nationwide FinanCES - Canoga Park, CA is the one that stole funds from my checking account. The leads were horrible - bad numbers - bad addresses - no English - no clue who I was talking about. These were supposed to be Buyers - loan approved and ready to buy!

Nationwide Financing Unauthorized Debited Funds from my Bus Acct

I SIGNED A ONE MONTH AGREEMENT IN WRITTING WITH NATIONWIDE TO BUY REAL ESTATE LEADS. NATIONWIDE FINANCING DEBITED MY ACCT FOR TWO MONTHS (LAST UNAUTHORRIZED DEBIT HAPPENED ON 10/25/2008)

I HAVE MADE OVER 40 CALLS AND E-MAILS REQUESTING A REFUND ON THE UNAURTHORED DEBIT. NATIONWIDE FINANCING SAYS ---THEY WERE WRONG, THEY ERROREDBUT STILL WILL NOT RETURN MY $375 DEBIT.

I JUST CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT A BUSINESS CAN OPERATE THIS WAY! SO FAR, THEY HAVE SWITCHED ME TO THREE DIFFERENT COUSTOMER SERVICE FOLKS WHERE I HAVE TO BEGIN AGAIN---REQUESTING MY REFUND.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH FOLKS ON THE INTERNET THAT DO THIS UNFAIR WAY OF BUSINESS? I AM AT A LOSS IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE!

Scammers, this company claims to be selling insurance leads for homes in escrow and they are not, when you call the homeowners they do not even know who nationwide financing is. They do not honor their contract and steals your money. They refuse to refund and no one will talk to you.
Don't do business with this company.

They debited my account after canceling auto insurance for $192.56, they took my info in which i originally paid, saved it and did a ach debit to my bank account, totally unauthorized. Bank of America gave me my money back, but research tell me Nationwide is very corrupt, talk about stealing . These guys need to go to jail. i am simply not using debit card anymore, they call it debit draft, they can get all they want and when they want. Dangerous. Folks I also got scammed from Master Internet Profits, took $120.00 4 times out of my account from an original 99cent charge. Go buy another debit card, stop using your bank account cards. I think this is the new scam. I had to get another bank acct., and twice in one week tells me watch out. More bad guys.

At first it was very hard to get any type of policy written from leads that were generated by Nationwide Finances. I was really frustrated and realized that i was not making more calls then expected. I purchased 100 leads from them and on the first 50 I failed, and complained. Than when i made 50 more calls i was able to send 18 quotes and right 11 insurance policies.

I guess my intentions were bad at first, but when I finished the program with Nationwide Finances I was able to make my money spent with them and more. Actually 2 Life Insurance policies made my day.

I was wooed by a woman named Jennifer. Everything sounded great! So I signed up and quickly found out that I had been screwed! I paid for 100 "leads" up front at $6.70 per lead. In about 2 weeks the leads finally stopped so I thought I had finally got rid of them. Only that within a few weeks I was charged again $670! I immediately sent out a few e-mails and got on the phone. It was a nightmare getting someone on the line. No one was ever there. No one ever returned phone calls. Finally I get on the line with someone and they told me that I had to give at least a week notice that I wished to cancel and since I didn't I was out of luck.

I sent an e-mail to a few fellow agents and it turns out that another agent in my area was screwed too. He was taken for $1, 500 and I was taken for $1, 340. These guys should really be put in jail for the crazy frauds they've got going on.

My agent buddy and I are going to file a small claims suit against these guys. Any advice? Anyone know of anyone else that was screwed by these jerks and want to join in with us? There is power in numbers.

Nationwide Financing Steals your Money - Misrepresents themselves as the Insurance Giant Nationwide

IF YOU OPERATE IN THE INSURANCE & MORTGAGE BUSINESS, YOU MAY RECEIVE A CALL SOMEDAY FROM SOMEONE (MY FRAUD REP WAS KURT O'BRIEN DOUGLAS) AND THEY POSE AS IF THEY ARE RELATED TO NATIONWIDE THE INSURANCE GIANT. THEY ARE NOT. THEY INDICATED THAT THEY HAVE BORROWERS THAT ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN LIFE PROTECTION IN ORDER TO CLOSE ON A LOAN... UNTRUE. THEY THEN SAY THAT IF YOU CAN HANDLE 5-10 CLIENT PER DAY THEY WILL START YOU AT A NOMINAL FEE OF $6.70 PER LEAD. SEEMS REASONABLE.

ONLY PROBLEM, IS NO LEADS, NOT AFFILIATED W/NATIONWIDE AND NO REFUNDS, ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD, YOU'RE SCREWED. DON'T BECOME A VICTIM. THEY OPERATE FROM A MAILBOX STORE, SO YOU CAN'T FIND THEM IF YOU WANTED TO TALK TO THEM PHYSICALLY, BUT I WILL BE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO SHOW UP AT THIER BOX WHEN THEY LEAST EXPECT IT, WILL FOLLOW THEM TO THEIR HIDE-AWAY LOCATION AND CALL THE POLICE SOON ENOUGH.

I rec'd a call from Kurt Obrien last week, they are now posing as 1st century mortgage, or first century mortgage. Tried getting my checking acct and routine numbers to "veryify" my account.

Offered me "pre-approved" leads saying they had a new mortgage loan program that supposedly offers a better interest rate to borrowers that purchase life insurance to protect the mortgage naming first century as the bene.. my initial suspicion arose when I inquired about if the policies needed to be assigned, he said no... didnt add up. But I continued just in case perhaps he was new in this type of deal, said his leads were warm and would be expecting my call, his company was offering links on Yahoo's search engines, leads are $16 a piece and needed to be prepaid, he wanted to sell me $4000 worth, agreed to $800 but didnt send any money until he sent me a couple leads to try first. The leads never came and wouldnt return my calls.

He didnt get any money out of me, i hung onto my check and my personal info until I saw some results. The leads never came, his email address kept bouncing back to me in error, and now his direct extension on his [protected] number now longer works.

He has an assistant named Andrea, here is her info:

I am a Realtor in Colorado and just got an e-fax that said they had 3 pre-approved leads for me and that just needed a Realtor to help them. The cost was $45 per lead plus a 10% referal fee. I was promised a credit report, 1003 and pre-approval letter on each lead. When asked about RESPA my rep, "Arman" said he was a licened agent in CA and therefore allowed to receive the fee. They faxed me a contract asking for checking account info and $315 for 7 leads. When I asked why I could not use a credit card "for fraud protection " I was told they just did not take them...

Now I know why...

Thank You,

Real estate agents (like me) should also beware.

I called after I got the fax today. I was told that NF has 13 clients in my zip code who have been prequaled for loan amounts from $462k to $675k (exact FNMA limits). They just need an agent to help them find a house. I asked where NF brokers their loans since recently I have had highly qualified buyers denied and would be thrilled find a new lender that could actually fund a solid buyer. He started to say that they only pre-qualify people (huh) so I asked him who does his processing and who does his appraisal in my county. He said, "I think I need to stop talking to you now" and then he hung up.

Nationwide Financing FRAUD

The Original [redacted] Title:
Nationwide Financing FRAUD ! DO NOT BUY "LEADS" FROM THESE PEOPLE ! Canoga Park California

The Original [redacted] Text:
Kurt O'brien sent a fax out to us. It had the name "amanda hilton" and something to do with leads. I talked to Kurt all the while thinking this is not going to work, this is not going to work. Kurt assured me that buying leads for 8 dollars is a great deal and ONLY gets charged to my card if I issue a policy. The initial 400 dollars they would only need to pre authorize. I asked 3 times or more about this. I was assured each time that it was not a charge. IT WAS A CHARGE. I found out a few days later and filed a dispute. This company is crap and their tactics should be illegal. I was told they do not record calls so all those assurances are meaningless and I will probably not get my money back. To the one that said "you just have to work those leads, people". B.S. Out of the 12 "leads" I have received so far, NONE have responded to phone calls nor emails. The ONE person that I caught on the phone told me that he sold this property in question OVER 2 YEARS AGO. He laughed about it. I said "thanks for the info" and moved on. THE NEXT TIME I AM IN THE AREA OF CANOGA PARK, CA, I WILL GLADLY VISIT THIS OFFICE AND LET THEM KNOW MY THOUGHTS. I know the area as I used to live there. Thanks for ZERO N.F. James Basalt, Colorado

Ditto to what every one wrote here. They took $1, 000 from my checking account. They sent an amendment to an agreement I'd signed, saying they would not do an ETF, but only I signed it--they never di. And now "Jennifer, " their customer service perons, says that because an officer didn't sign it as well, it wasn't valid. I faxed them a cancellation form on the seventh business day before they would get another hit, but they went ahead anyway. And the leadds they send are crap. Most of them are well over 3 hours freom me. That a**hole Kurt had assured me that the leads would only be within my county. Jennifer said they can't isolate counties, only ZIP codes. So I sent them a list of ZIP codes and cities, but they still send crap. Out of 57 leads they've sent, only 10 are in my area and have working numbers. Don't know if they're legit because they don't answer their phones. Frankly, I wouldn't mind spendin $1, 000 if they would produce what they say they will, but they don't, and now I'm screwed. I started up a Facebook called Nationwide Financing Rip Off, and will do whatever I can to sink this racket.

Richard Pierce, if he even exists at Nationwide is ###. If I ever have the pleasure of meeting him or his co-workers face to face it will not be a pleasant meeting. They asked me to call two successful clients, which I did before getting ripped off. I have recently called both of these people back and the phone numbers are not theirs...hmmmmmm are they part of the rip off.

Do not even think about entering into a contract with this corrupt, dishonest and dreadful company that goes by many names, first as Nationwide Finances on their website: www.nationwidefinancing.net, or Nationwide Financing and Nationwide Financial, both of these names are on the contract I wish I had never signed with them.

For starters I was tricked into believing they were part of Nationwide Financial Services Inc. The leads for Real Estate buyers were in its majority old, people that had already purchased their home months before, and some were even names of other real estate agents. They charged me for an extra month after I sent them the request to stop these charges, I was forced to leave countless messages trying to resolve the situation, they never returned any calls, and when I finally reached the customer service department, their manager (who did not want to identify herself) was rude and said they would not reverse the charges, her childish excuse being that I sent it to the wrong fax number, never mind that it was sent to the fax number shown on the original contract for those purposes.

I have organized all my paperwork to prove my case and, unless I get this charges reversed, I intend to take them to court.
If there is other aggravated party please contact me through this website.

I am so glad I posted the initial warning about these jerkoffs at nationwide financing. I am happy I could help anyone out. I have been contacted multiple times from people that both got scammed and some that did not only due to the initial post. I thought I was in the clear because Discover investigated the scam. Well... Nationwide Financing sent Discover that damn signed document (if you got scammed you know what I'm talking about). CRAP ! I am re-pissed ! PLEASE, if you got scammed or not, PLEASE call the FBI about this and report it. This way it will go to a class action lawsuit (hopefully) and these guys will PAY and be shut down !

WOW! I cant believe it and Thank God for the internet. I just got off the phone with "Charde" from Nationwide Finances. My first impression was good because they really try to build report quickly with compliments and feel good speek. Which as a sales person I totally understand but understand this they are Very good at it, actually too good.
We went through the whole phone conversation and it seemed lagit to me almost the whole way through until we started to negotiate a-little on the price of leads. It seemed too easy to talk them down and then the kicker was that they wanted me to write a check to Nationwide and fax them a copy of it. Nobody does checks anymore especially over fax. These scam artist are going directly to your check info because they know that the credit card companies are on to them and are blocking and calling the card holder with the warning. I immediately went to the internet to see if these guys were lagit. Looks like I had about the same type of experience as these others.
No matter how good this sounds STOP! DON'T buy from these guys. There are plenty of good lead companies out there to buy from.

I received a fax today from Ms Amanda Hilton: I called thinking it might be a good idea, I was unable to speak to her so I spoke to Mr Earl and he seemed very eager to do business with my company, i was hesitant and he called me back twice. then he told me to sign the contract and put a check over the fax. He promised me 27 to 35 HO referrals weekly. I found it kind of funny d to the fact that most of these people probably have their own Brokers. So i told him I would called him back. I when to Google Fraud and in seconds Nationwide Financing in Canoga Park, California POP UP! Thank God for computers. Be wise, check new desperate business thoroughly before you jump in. This is the way they steal from hard working people. Good Luck.

nationwide finance is a fraud, once they get you to sign the contract you don't get anything, i was to get 5 home leads to try the company, didn't get them, faxed them a copy of the check ( my fault),
they were to hold, if i was satified, i was to send them the check, they cashed the faxed copy.
now they won't return calls.

My experience mirrored what James reported. Fax from "Amanda Hilton" with followup calls from "Kurt O'Brien". I had the same doubts and asked for the same reassurances. I looked at their website and was impressed so I (foolishly) signed up.

Fortunately, the fraud department of my credit card company called me to confirm the charge. I told them what happened and that I did not want a charge ever going through from that company. Chase changed my credit card account so it looks like I escaped this fraud intact.

I guess there were two important lessons for me here:

1. Don't be impressed by a professional looking website.
2. Google for negative news before being taken instead of after the fact.

I hope this helps protect someone in the future.
