Nations Housing Modification Center / Fraud-stole $2000 from my account

1 WA, United States Review updated:

They initiated by sending me forms to fill out to get a loan modification. Asked for $1000 down, which I could get back if I decided to not go with them. After talking it over with my local agent, decided to go with a short sale. They did not return calls or emails, finally did get ahold of someone and informed them I was going with a short sale, and I wanted a refund of my $1000. Not only has there been no refund yet, they actually did 2 more withdrawals for $1000 each without my permission. Now the banks involved and going up against federal fraud charges. Hope these guys fry. Be warned, fraud fraud fraud!!!

My boyfriend keep recieving letters telling him of how he could modify his mortgge and that President Obama had listed some help so that people would not loose there homes. Nations housing sounded very good and who wouldn't jump at the chance of lowering their mortgage now it has been three months and still no help they have taking 1, 500 dollars from my boyfriend account, from reading previous complaints i will tell him to make sure tell him to inform his bank of this company.

I too was taken by these ###... Does anyone know who is investigating them?? I talked with a woman who worked there and she told me it was the San Diego District Attorney's office of Real Estate Fraud 619-531-3552 (hotline) main number is 619-531-4040. However, I have left several messages and no one has returned my calls. I also spoke to FBI field office and was told they did not have case pending. I will keep trying the DA's office and suggest that others do the same.

I was contacted by a rep from the DA, if they needed me they were going to fly me down to testify. Just answered a bunch of questions, have not heard anything new.
