National Magazine Exchange bill

I have received a bill for some magazines I supposedly ordered. I did not order any magazines nor have I received any magazines. Publishers Clearing House did the same thing to me, however, when I called them to cancel they cancelled the subscriptions they had for me and told me to keep the ones I had already received (their compliments) and I would not receive anymore. These companies need to be reported because they are ripping off people, young and old. But the elderly are hurt the most because they live on a limited income.

No
First of all, there is No sweepstakes to begin with so thats your first mistake for even believing there is one, you have more of a chance of catching AIDS than winning a sweepstakes! I know this because I used to work for these professional scam artists who by the way are so lawyered up there is NO way for you to get out of any subscription. Secondly, no one forced YOU to listen to the subscription sales agent and the verifyier who YOU gave your cc number to, no one FORCED you to stay on the line through any of this, thats your second mistake, you agreed to shoppers advantage and great fun so you are ultimately to blame for bieng ignorant and greedy because you thought you could win money! This sweepstakes is geared and mailed to uneducated, low income and the elderly. Its common sense that (ALL) sweepstakes are a scam and YOU made the desicion to call and STAY on the line. This company not only scams the public but their employees as well. The steal money from both ends, (yours and mine) and once you work there, the co. makes damn sure to give you a horrible reference so when you do leave it is difficult to gain employement again. Next time you recieve ANY offers in the mail that have ANY inclination that you might win alot money, just trash it. Its all lies. Make sure you warn family and friends about this neverending scam so they can do the same. They had you at hello.

National Magazine Exchange sent to collectors without buying product

I was contacted by phone by the National Magazine Exchange to purchase magazines. I attempted to decline repeatedly. And they c0ntinue to pressure me, when I told them that I didn't have a credit card in which to put money down, then they offered me a pay option via mail. Once the first invoice came, I decided that I really didn't want to purchase any magazines and decided not to send in any money. They sent more invoices offering other payment options. Now, I got a letter in the mail from a collection agency in regards to a $200.00 debt from National Magazine Exchange. I wrote the collection agency back disputing the debt since no money or products were exchanged. I am now waiting for a response. I can't believe that I have to pay money, have my credit negatively effected, be harassed to purhcase a product and even end up not gettting the magazines! I am so unhappy.

I received a ESPN magazine in the mail that I did not order. I was worried, I called customer service on page 6. I talked to a Rep. from Subco.com. She told me that a company National Magazine Exchange sends out magazines in the hope that you like it. she stopped the delivery and canceled the magazine, told me that I would not be charged for the $5.98 April issue. She also said I may receive more. but not to worry it was taken care of. I an not convinced. I am going to close my bank account ASAP. If the Scamming Magazine Company sends me to collections I do not care. I have bad credit and no cards. I do not pay collectors. I go to court and If I lose and owe them money I negotiate the amount. If I win better yet. Advice, give them no info and do not say yes to any info that they already have. tell them to take you off their call list .

If YOU agreed to get the magazines via money order, its ALL on TAPE! Thats how they sent you to collections. The name of the game is scam the caller in any way possible! You cannot get out of this, the co. has lawyers that WILL dispute this because YOU agreed ON tape you would send a money order for the magazines! Remember this? "unhappy consumer, for the magazines, we can count on you to pay your payments full and on time, OK?" "great, can I take that as a Yes? great" thats the deal and you agreed. I guess you thought smart and THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO get free magazines but YOU only get the magazines when YOU send in the money first! NO ONE GET FREE MAGAZINES! HAHHAHAHHAHHAAHH! ROFLMAO! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND YOU GOT PLAYED!

well first off YOU CALLED THEM and verified your PRIZE ENTRY NUMBER.
then when they asked if you currently carried a visa, mastercard, am ex, or discover? you said YES. They they pitched you magazines. You picked them. Then you agreed to talk to the 'supervisor' (was me LOL) then you went through the verification process and GAVE you credit/debit card number. You verified it was correct along with the address and phone numbers. Then when the 'supervisor' read to you the confirmation of the order you gave a hard YES. (It's recorded), which clearly stated the length of time, payments etc. you agreed then you were asked to use your touch tone phone and key in the last 4 digits of your credit card. THEN at the end of the call it's all re-confirmed. No wiggle room for the consumer at any time in the call provided all these conditions were met. So ignorance on your part should teach you that there is NO FREE LUNCH!

National Magazine Exchange I was scammed

I have to say this is embarrasing, but a couple of weeks ago, I got a mailing from Publishers Clearing House, (Florida), and threw out my entry, that they send. Needless, to say, I got this notice saying I was still eligle, for $1, 1000, 000.00. I read where it said, no purchase necessary. Next thing I know a woman, is asking what magazine's I want, and her supervisor gets on the phone, and says I can 3 magazines, (Ladies Home Journal, Money, or Better Homes and Garden), when I realize he's going to charge me for fours years, I said NO WAY, but I did not hang up like I should have. Then tried to sell me prepaid gift cards, I said NO. Also, said I could go onto website to pick out watches as a special gift. I really thought I was getting a good on 3 magazines I really like.

I signed up for 1 year, with 22.00 3 consecutive payments. He asked for my e-mail and I would get confirmation in my e-mail. Guess what, NO E-MAIL. I'm afraid to call, because I'm afraid of what I'll say or do, after reading these complaints, I feel STUPID! Now I think, I can cancel my credit card, but it's probably too late, but we'll see.

Right now, I just have to stay calm.

Here is a helpful information: When you get something like this and they have a phone number.
1. Look them up on the internet.
2. Call and have them explain this to you in detail, and not what they have been given to read.
3. If you FEEL you have been ripped off call and cancel, and or call your credit card company find out who you need to contact to cancel the items.
4. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PERSONAL E-MAIL ADDRESS ALWAYS USE A CREATED E-MAIL ADDRESS THAT HAS BEEN CREATED FOR THIS TYPE OF LETTERS.

National Magazine Exchange need to cancel

NME called me to offer me a chance at their sweepstakes, then said I had to buy one of their magazines. I was going to order Weight Watchers magazine so I said I would like that magazine from their Florida organization.
I was sent Money, Living, Travel & Leisure, Shape, ESPN, Muscle & Fitness, and then finally Weight Wathcers magazine.
So far I've recieved two and three of each and wrote a letter along with a delinquent account notice, I paid almost one hundred dollars for four years of Weight Watchers in order to win a Sweepstakes. I've recieved nothing but junk mail concerning any sweeps.
They will just have to take it up in court when I claim chapter 7 Bankruptcy this coming May and hire a detective after I've moved from this address come this June.

National Magazine Exchange cannot cancel

I got a letter in the mail stating I am in a drawing for a million dollars to call this number.
I called and the company asked for my debit card number and never said they were going to charge anything on it. So I gave them it. I know it was not smart but I just got my memory back because I lost it during a brain surgery. I told them I wish to cancel the whole thing, but they told me it already went through. I am angry because I explained how I had brain cancer and they said it was too late. I know it was not smart to give my debit number out, but I was trying to get some extra income because I live off of social security. I been charged the first payment already and now I am going to be tight on money for the next week. Todd Ruccolo

National Magazine Exchange fraud alert

I noticed some strange charges on my credit cards company. I forgot to ask my husband about it. The next month there was another one National Magazine Exchange had debited two payments of $67.09 each. I called the company who told me my husband had ordered the magazines. I told her that would be so unlike him. She said he was recorded giving his permission to charge his credit card. We had not received any magazines and I asked what they were. "Martha Stewart Living" (He cannot stand her.), "Popular Mechanics", "Weight Watchers", "ESPN", Complementary "Fast Co" ? Auto M?" I said he would be livid when he found out he had been charged for these. She said, "Why would he be livid. He ordered them." He gave his permission for his credit card to be charged. I told her I could not believe he understood that. She said. "Oh really?" I hung up and called back again to get more info. I then found out that we were scheduled to be charged two more payment of $67.09. I said I wanted to cancel the orders as we had not received any of the magazines. She said they couldn't do that but she would work something out with me. I was so frustrated I just said I would talk to my bank. I'm going to call the Florida Attorney General and complain to them.

I AGREE with BGL, who posted [protected], FRAUD ALERT concerning National Magazine Exchange.

My husband got scammed by this piece of crap company -- and it took only about three hours! He got the *** OFFICIAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT *** & made the ill-rated call. He was conned into ordering a 'Popular Science' magazine which we have no use for, & was told of all the great extras that he was going to receive: 2 Diamond Watches, an Electronic Organizer, a couple of DVD's, a $50.00 WalMart card, & a $40.00 card to use towards paying HALF of the magazine bill. It's bound to all junk.

The magazine payments were said to be about $15.00 over 4 months. In LESS THAN 3 HOURS, a charge for $67.09 was taken from our checking account.

I kept telling him NOT to order anything from NME, but he wouldn't listen to me. Tomorrow he will be calling to CANCEL the so-called subscription...BUT the first thing he will do is to go to the bank & cancel our checking account, & we'll be getting a new one.

National Magazine Exchange rip-off

I got a letter from NME, but at the time did not know who they were as the letter did not give it, so i went on line and typed in the phone number that was on the letter that is how i found out who they were. When i first got the letter I thought gee this would be great to win some money, sure can use it, but then i got to tinking about it wondering who this came from, so like i said went on line to check it out. There i found a lot of unhappy people who had been riped off, but what i dont understand is why do people give out there credit card info in the firts place to people they dont even know any thing about with out checking it out first. I am glad i did, i riped up the letter and put it where it belonged, in the trash. Please people think first before you act on something like this, dont you know there is nothing in this world that is free?

One less victim, thanks to websites like this one. If everyone who is aware of these kinds of websites were to educate just one or two others, many of these scam operations would be out of business before they got off the ground.

Thanks so much, I received one of these letters today. First thing I noticed was that my first name wasn't even spelled out, just the initial, so that was clue #1 that something was off. Also, I read the letter which, as you stated, makes one think that it's a sure thing but on the back it says random drawing, so clue #2. Never heard of them and know for sure never entered or visited a site, that I know of, affiliated with them, therefore it was unsolicited, clue#3. Last of all, when I receive stuff like this, before proceeding any further, I google the name, so glad I did because this site showed up in the search results, therefore this letter will promptly go in the shredder. Thanks so much for a very informative website. As the old saying goes, "You can't get something for nothing!" I would suggest that anyone that receives anything that seems to good to be true to just google and research on the internet before getting scammed. You will be grateful that you did and will save you a lot of headache.

We had our CC stolen and Mag's ordered through this Company and I was pleased with how fast they cancelled the orders, refunded the card because it was placed fraudulently. I was so pleased to find out that each call is recorded and with a subpeona, we will have the caller voice and info soon. I am not happy that the card was used for mags that we didnt order but I am happy how they handled the issue. I am a firm believer that the person or person's responsible should go to JAIL and I will make sure that we proscute no matter who they are.

I have purchased magazines for years through this company and have always been satisfied with the service. Being able to change my magazines during my service was a plus! It's just like publishers sweepstakes they have to raise the money some how so they sell magazines, I fail to see the scam nobody can force you through a phone call to buy something you don't want that is UP TOO YOU! If you want a great deal on magazines
give them a call ! A satisfied purchaser.

National Magazine Exchange cancelation policy

My 81 year old Grandmother, somewho authorized for 10 new magazines. But doesnt remember doing this, she said she did not call anyone to order magazines. So I called this National Magazine Exchange just like the letter that we received says. They said that on April 08, 2009 she authorized them to charge her credit card in the amount of 67.08. The letter says "Orders may be cancelled within 7 days from receipt of this letter by writing or calling customer service.". Well, This letter was written on April 8th and according to the envelope that it came in, it was not mailed until April 14th. Then we received this on April 16th. I called April 17th to cancel. i was told that i could not cancel because this is what she agreed to . Then i spoke with someone else and she said what she could do is refund 1/2 of the 1st payment. and only mail out the 3 out of the 10 magazines for 1 year. I feel that this company is wrong and Per their letter of confirmation letter it states that we should be able to cancel this. I feel a full refund should have been submitted and the order to be canceled as requested.

I too received a second notice never knew I had a first, immediately look at these as scams especially coming from clearwater fl. there about as honest as a 3 dollar bill. never see a list of big winners, yes nothing to buy but they don't leave it there if you call them. no body can give out millions of dollars with out taking in dollars unless its some rich billionaire needing to excess doe for tax purposes. jesus said [your money and gold won't save you], so what will?, the only thing that will or can save you is the blood of christ, but how does one get that blood to day he died 2000 plus years ago. today how ever its still possible to receive the blood of jesus the 'christ' first you need to believe that he is the only begotten son of the god the father, hearing the word believing the word and obeying the word. what is the word. the word is jesus the word became flesh and dwelt among men during his time on earth he said he came to heal and save those that are lost. a fact is that sin separates us from god but jesus died via a crucification on a cross for all mankind because all have sinned and fallen short of god. one needs to put on christ via baptism an emerson under water confessing jesus as lord and savior arising as a new creature repenting of our sins calling on jesus as lord and savior he is the king of kings is god incarnate in the flesh and he is going to return soon unknown exactly when but each one must be prepared for his return as a time of testing is coming about those saved by the blood of christ may be spared the test. the blood of christ covers our sins so god the father sees not our sin but the blood of his son jesus who was crucified for us. there may not be a second notice before christ returns. so get ready today get baptized for remission of your sins. what are sins: killing, stealing, porn, forsaking the lord, adultery, gay life styles, anything, that is not holy in the lord. read the bible its the word given by god not by man but men moved by the holy spirit put to stone, papyrus, and paper god's holy word for all to live by, I could go on and on but you now got the message to be saved get baptized and repent.

I enter sweepstakes often and have won prizes in the past... of course not this amount of money. I have learned it is important to look at a sweepstakes notification and/or entry very carefully. upon winning in the past, the company sponsoring the sweepstakes sent me a letter on company letter head with the sponsoring company address and phone number. this was my first tip that this notification may be a scam. no letter head.

This is the second notification i've received from this company. the first stated that I had already won the money and now they send notification stating "if my number is selected"
I really wish there was a sweepstakes police to report and shut down this type of hook or come on. its sad to think some people are taken in by them and loose hard earned cash.

National Magazine Exchange - strike it rich vi sweepstakes

Your reply is needed immediatley to be eligible for $2, 100, 000.00 prize offerings. Dialed the 1.800.207.8171 and was quoted no purchase necessary. Was asked for my phone number and like a fool I gave it to them. National Magazine Exchange failure to cancel subscription

When I signed up for the magazines, they told me I had 30 days to change my mind. During this time, they were to send me different magazines to see if I liked their services. On January 21, 2009, I wrote to them and told them that I did not like any of the magazines they were sending, and that they were to cancel my subscription ASAP. I called the next month, when I noticed they had taken out yet
another payment. I told the clerk that I had cancelled the subscription on January 21, 2009, that I did not want any more money coming out of my account. She claimed that they had not received my cancellation, so, I again advised her to cancel the subscription immediately. She said that she was cancelling it at that time, and that I would receive a refund for the last payment. That didn't happen either. Another payment was taken from my account in March. I don't think they are planning to cancel the subscription. Since I have contacted them twice, and twice they told me there were cancelling the subscription, I am wondering what my next step should be.

Please advise me what I should do now.

Dear Sirs: I am grateful to you for your complaint messages. I too have recieved a notice from National Magazine Exchange. The phone number that is on the 'enrty' form is [protected] and it has a Clearwater, Florida address. My registered prize enrty number is [protected] and I have 'won' $1, 100, 000.00. If these numbers are similar to others from your readers, it must be a fraud. I get million dollar offers from many places that are all frauds: Nigeria, Ghana, Hong Kong, England, and Belgium. Most of these fake offers are full of grammatical errors and misspellings. They also try to represent themselves as attorneys of bank officers and even the FBI! I hope this message helps someone to NOT give in to greed or need and get caught up in these phoney schemes that only cost money and deliver nothing in return.

For anybody AND everybody that has given out their card numbers trusting that the company is honest and then find them stealing you blind every month or so, here's all you have to do. If you used a credit card, call your card company and specify that you DO NOT want them to pay these people any more. Have them put a PERMANENT block on them so they can no longer charge your card. If you can authorize it, you can UNauthorize it through the card company. As for a debit card, speed is of the essence. If it is a pending transaction, call or get to your bank ASAP and have it blocked. After that it's pretty much the same as for a credit card.
The key to avoiding all this mess in the first place is: 1) don't let greed or desperation get the best of you, 2) read ALL of the letter or document you get including the fine print. These scam guys like making the print hard to read by making it small and either light or close to the background color, 3) never give out your card number without checking them out. You NEED to know who you're dealing with. Use the internet, look them up on the BBB website as well. 4) and finally, use your common sense, "When in doubt, shred it and throw it out". Besides, have you seen the odds of winning? 26 MILLION to ONE. I don't know if that many people are in the US including any illegals. I just hope this helps save someone some extra grief they don't need.

National Magazine Exchange fraud/scam

National Magazine Exchange sent me a letter telling me to get registered for their $2, 1000, 000.00 prize. The letter gave me a deadline and told me to call [protected] to activate my number. I called because I was pretty sure it was a scam and wanted to report them if they were.

When I called, a female immediatly answered the pone asking for my number, confirming my name and address and asked me if I was still a prefered visa, discover or american express card holder. That is when I knew it was a scam. She told me I had been selected to receive two diamond rolexes and 3 magazine subscriptions for a few dollars a month. I refused about 4 times before I hung up the phone.
I did not give them any new information, especially regarding my credit cart or banking information but I knew that accepting the watches and magazine subscriptions would lead to it. SCAMMERS!

I also received a letter in March of 2009 from the "National Magazine Exchange" stating that they were trying to me regarding my $2, 100, 000.00 prize entry ID# and said I had to respond by a certain date to be "eligible" prize offerings. It also stated if my prize entry is selected in the random drawing I would win $2, 100, 000.00 but it said I needed to call [protected] to activate my ID# by this certain deadline. I did proceed to give them a call and at no time did they mention the sweepstakes. They were more interested in trying to sell me some magazines, so I eventually hung up. Also, note I spoke with a woman who said her name was "Helen" (which I doubt) but note that my letter was signed by E. Scanlou. Then it wasn't long after that my boyfriend received a letter stating the same info. but signed by a different person! One thing I can not stand is for someone to try to hurt innocent people that might just need a little help. I hope whoever is doing this that GOD will punish you to the fullest extent of the law! May God Bless and Be with all of you that have been hurt in this same situation.

I totally agree with everyone else. I got a bill for the whole amount, even after I had already paid a couple of mths. I am a couple of mths late. Not serious, but I know I am to pay. Well, I called a number they said in notice, Customer Service Department toll-free at [protected]. Whoever that # belongs to, they have NO AFFILIATION with NME. I was told to go to the BBB Better Business Bureau. I did. Then I go back to NME and sent e-mail telling them, I would send a certain amount of money. NOT the whole thing, because I had already made some payments. I also mentione that I went to BBB. Interesting to see what response I get back.

National Magazine Exchange terrible company

They called me and said that they were from the national Magazine Exchange. It was a real friendly man, i do not remember his name but coincidentally we were from the same state! and so was the first guy who answered the phone! How ironic! How stupid and naive i was! He said he was calling from the credit dept. I asked for what credit card? Do I owe money? He was calling to tell me I was a potential winner of a 2 million dollar sweepstakes, and to please hold while he gets his supervisor on the phone to take my info for the sweepstakes.

The supervisor sweet talked me, spoke really fast and was so vague on his questions, i started getting confused. He then asked if i wanted several subscriptions to magazines that I liked and bought in stores, for a fraction of the price; it came out to about .60 per magazine, which was a savings of over $2.00 each magazine! I was so excited and agreed. I ordered a one year subscription to parenting magazine, shape, and stay at home moms (i think that was the name he gave me). He said all i had to pay was $67 and change one time, i would be entered into the sweepstakes, and would receive the magazine subscriptions for a year. i was psyched. however time went on, and i started receiving magazines in the mail for Car and driver, Maxim, forbes, all these financial or men's magazines. I received only one Parenting magazine, and never received anything else except for these [censored] magazines i have no use for! I mean I get at least 10 magazines a week, for ones I never ordered!

Then i went onto my credit card's web site where i had placed the purchase through, and lo and behold I see all these charges from at least several companies in the past two months since i subscribed. one charge is for NME*MAGAZINE ORDER [protected] FL $67.08 on 11/14/08, NME*MAGAZINE ORDER [protected] FL $67.08 on 12/16/08, AP9*ATHOMEREWARDS [protected] CT $19.95 on 1/1/09, NME*MAGAZINE ORDER [protected] FL $67.08 on 1/16/09, AP9*ATHOMEREWARDS [protected] CT $19.95 on 2/22/09, $67.08 from NME*MAGAZINE ORDER [protected] FL on 2/24/09! I called the national magize exchange myself complain. they never answered their phones. it goes right to a voicemail box where i left three messages, three days in a row. the message states they will return your call by the next business day. this was last week. i never got a call back. I am so upset and furious that I have been scammed!

I just called my credit card company and had to cancel my card and get a new one. Can someone please help me? I want my money back! I don't want these subscriptions to magazines I NEVER ORDERED EITHER! Plus the ones i did pay for i never even got except for one magazine, and i only received it once last month! I was told when i signed up it was only one charge for the $67.00 for the 12 month subscription for the three magazines i believe. but he spoke so fast i could not understand everything. please help me! I have been scammed!

if you send your card company a letter about the items that were not agreed to by you with that company, they have a duty to investigate, and then should remove those charges, without having added late charges and interest from the time they got your letter. Even though they gave you a new card, you can still pursue this...the 2 accounts are probably not connected, but persevere, speak slowly, and wait...quietly continue when asked that you know nothing about those charges.
they feel obligated to say something, or they want to help, and perceive you as not knowing what to do, and they want to help. But at all cost, do not get mad or talk shortly with them...even to dropping the phone to catch your breath...lol...

anyway, good luck! and I came here today because I just got this same letter, but now I always come to the computer and look up the company before I call anyone...I have been ripped off before...beth

National Magazine Exchange sweepstakes ripoff

I am so happy I took the time to check out this whole "sweepstakes" out before calling them back. I can understand why people would call to enter a sweepstakes. What I don't understand and why anyone would give someone thier credit card number if they did not expect to be charged something, be it 1 dollar or 200 dollars. I know people are fast talkers, but you have to GIVE this information freely in order for them to get it.

I have now been sitting on hold for 20 minutes after calling to have my name removed from thier mailing list and being given a different 1800 number [protected]) and being told to "please stay on hold while I finish with the last caller". I am holding just to see if someone actually gets on the line to take down my information. So far... NOT.

I answered out of curiosity, too, because an "unknown" number called me four times a day. I figured it was a wedding caterer, because I've been shopping around for one for my upcoming wedding. I was way off...
Not sure if it's the same scam, since I didn't catch the business name because the lady talked so fast (not that I believe it's a legit business anyway). She first said that I was in a sweepstakes to win $5, 000 with a grand prize of $100, 000 (yeah right), and next said that I won a diamond quartz watch that they were gonna send for free (they already had my address). I told her I didn't trust her, and she went on to say that they were next going to send me 40 magazines for free, with some additional ones at a small charge that were a great deal. That's when I stopped her and said I don't trust her. She got irritated and said that the company was trustworthy and couldn't still be in business after 29 years if they weren't. I then told her to withdraw me, and she hung up while I was talking. Since it's an "unknown" number I can't call back to curse them out:( Do you guys think they will send me crap anyways? I did NOT give out any additional info, like credit card numbers or anything, because I'm not an idiot. I'm just concerned, because they did already have information about me.

A piece of advice -- if I may?

Invest in a quality answering machine (yes, some of us still use them :) And, invest in Caller-ID (if your local area provides it). In four years (and going!) I have never been phone slammed by scammers. I KNOW when one is calling me because they usually show up on my caller-ID as "UNKNOWN CALLER", or even blank! If it's important (a legit call), they will leave a message.

Just for grins one time, I DID take the call (curiousity). Surprisingly, my local carrier's block recognized the call as a Slam and told me "solicited call...disconnecting"!

So, a little education here: demanding they "remove" you from their 'do not call list' is a giant waste of your time. You mentioned they kept you holding for almost 30-minutes? Yah -- they really care, don't they. Stop wasting your time with these vagrants. They are not going away any time soon.

National Magazine Exchange scam for sweepstakes

I received a scam notification concerning a sweepstakes I haha won that is sponsored exclusively by National Magazine Exchange. Prize to be awarded as 30 annual installments of $70, 000.00 or a lump sum payment of $1, 100, 000.00.

My ID# is [protected] but I came to this site to check it out first. They even had the disclaimer down "There is no purchase required to enter or win and a purchase will not improve your chances of winning." And my contact date is by January 22, 2009.

It's not a scam... The sweepstakes is legit but they do try to sell you magazines when you call to enter..to avoid this all you have to do is say you don't have a credit/debit card and you won't even get pitched the magazines.. problem solved. Technically, you don't even have to listen to any of because as soon as you give your I.D number you are instantly entered and you could just hang right up.

Idk if this company is part of this, but I thought it might help you guys. I had experience with Gulf Coast Readers (Anthony Moulder, Rhonda Moulder/Lloyd Loftis) & MO Management (Mike Oelrich/Terry Christensen). I've googled National Magazine Exchange & Think Direct Marketing Group conncetion & I didn't get anything. I suggest anyone wanting to know more on how these 2 companies operate google Minnesota Attorney General Magazine Scam.

Hi I got this letter also, I was suspicious so I came to this web site and am reading all the posts. The one
thing is that I moved to a new location and the only company I notified was Publishers Clearing House...
then I get this letter to my new address? So PCH is definitely culpable in this scam. I will no longer
order anything from them as of today. I pray no one else gets stung by this.

I suspected that NME was an agent(?) for PCH, the unknown holding company behind them.
PCH's ploys are very close in presentation as I received from the agents trying to get me to buy
4 (FOUR) magazines. They talked at me for 40 minutes but I was trying to make money taking
surveys (true businesses (I hope) perhaps some are some aren't. My 10-year-old email address
happens to be 1pandemic.greed@yaddayadda.com. Greed is STILL the #1 pandemic to my
mind - I am a Christian and I send money and items to several countries to the missionaries
to dole out to the people who actually need them. I also give to Saint Jude Hospital since its
inception in 1977. I quit giving to Red Cross because my sister informed me, while she was an
employee there that Red Cross actually were SELLING the donations they were receiving.

Back to the subject of NME - I've received a letter from them that they cannot use my card
(I wonder why I changed it? I such a fool, right?) I was trying to obtain the phone number
of the Clearwater facility (perhaps a couple of rooms in a dilapidated office building?) but I
cannot get it through searching.

@Misunderstood Rep, I agree with most people on this ridiculous SCAM. Today is 09/04/2020 so I guess your fraudulent attempts are resuming. You really shouldn’t be commenting to anyone, considering the language barrier you must have. I would guess the English language is your second language, since you can’t spell. Only an ignorant and uneducated person would put those poorly written texts on here. We do have a great feature called SPELL CHECK”. You may want to look into it so you can learn the correct verbiage instead of cursing. This is totally a scam. Are you sitting on someone’s basement or a sweat shop as you get these inbound calls? Maybe YOU are the one who needs a job, as you’re not qualified to even text. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

I just received the same thing. I am a financially challenged mother of one. $520, 000.00 would change my life after my ex made us homeless and took all of my money. This is just another reason I can't handle people anymore because you have to be a bit of a scam artist to survive. He did it to me, they do it to people etc... Look no one is saying they will give you the money, but trust me when I tell you I have not seen anyone win one of these ever and I would love to I have worked for years, helped other people out been helped out recently so this would just help me do all I need to for myself and my daughter, go back to school, open a business, pay off debts etc...
I believe in hard work not scamming people, I believe in also working smart not stupid of course there are short cuts in this world but nothing ever comes for free. Usually people make it by someone else losing, just remember that! However if they have not had one winner and they keep amassing money then one day it will all catch up to them and frankly I would not want that burden at all!

I just got my letter so decided to Google it. Anything out of Florida deserves to be checked out first. It is pretty much the scam capital of the U.S. So I checked the BBB site through the link that was provided above by @Powerhse74. (Thank you!) Very informative and straightforward. Here it is for your convenience:

Check it out. There's nothing more to say. Whether it's a scam or not, doesn't matter. They have an unbelievably poor rating. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

National Magazine Exchange scam contest

My elderly mother has been receiving these scam offical prize listings for a long time. I am lucky in the fact that she is not able to act on this notifications herself. They give her entry #'s and id #'s and tell her to call [protected] by a certain deadline in the hopes of winning over $2 mil. I beleive that this company and well as others are preying upon the elderly in order to gain bank account info so that they can wipe them out. If at all possible I like some information on how to stop these companies from sending my mother this scam mail.

Public awareness. Go out and do research on this company and inform as many people as possible. With enough support, we can have his company put out of business. I got scammed from this company to a couple of years ago. You can start by going to edumacation.com/nationalmagazine exchange or google the words national magazine exchange scams... there are 331, 000 results so there's plenty to choose from. The key is to get people educated so it won't happen to them. Oh and I do happen to know that AARP was suing NME for that very reason you're talking about, but I don't know the results of that case. They're also banned from the state of Oregon.
