Review of Nation Relocation, Inc. Moving Company
January-February 2009

Bottom Line: In case you don’t read the entire review, the take-away is to avoid this moving company. The are an unprofessional and poorly run operation who treat their customers horribly and are intent on misleading them and scamming the maximum amount of money they can while taking absolutely no care with your belongings.

The Company

The company we hired was called Nation Relocation, Inc. However, after reading multiple reviews and researching DOT and insurance records, we believe this company has operated, or is operating, with the following names.

Nation Relocation, Inc.
1680 Atlantic Blvd Suite D
Norcross, GA 30071
DOT # 1785176

A Van Lines LLC
1680 Atlantic Blvd Suite D
Norcross, GA 30071
DOT # 1719287

ENTERPRISE RELOCATION SERVICES INC
1680 Atlantic Blvd Suite D
Norcross, GA 30071
DOT # 1847246

Quick Trip Vanlines
6180 Atlantic Blvd. Suite B
Norcross, GA 30071
DOT # 1246490

Arsenal Van Lines, Inc
6180 ATLANTIC BLVD STE B
NORCROSS, GA [protected]
DOT # 1267793

It appears when the company gets too many complaints or is levied a fine by the DOT, (or has been ordered to cease operations as an illegal moving company by the state of Georgia as Quick Trip Vanlines was), they simply close down the old shop and re-open under a new name and DOT number.

The Estimate

They asked for a list of our items – mostly furniture, big stuff – over the phone and provided an estimate we loved. (Too good to be true, yes.) When they arrived and saw what we had, they upped the price by the estimate x 5.

Pick-up; the Movers and (lack of) Equipment

1. They arrived three hours late.

2. They arrived in a Ryder truck. I asked why the company didn’t have its own fleet and was told their truck broke down. This would turn out to be a lie. (We now know, of course, that one of the big “don’t do it!” signs is when a company doesn’t have its own moving truck. Lesson #1 learned.)

3. The truck was already half- filled with other people’s household goods, which isn’t unusual by itself, but it also didn’t appear there would be enough room for our items. I asked about this and was told it would all fit fine. Not so.

4. Luckily I had some extra boxes left over from a previous move or they would have run out. They also brought no tools for furniture (they used mine), no razor blade or knife (they used mine), and no markers (they used mine.)

30 Days of Storage Included in the Contract, but Not in Reality

When we had our household goods picked up we didn’t have a place to live yet in our new state, so we made sure our contract included storage for 30 days. During the pick-up, I explained to the driver we didn’t have a place to live.

About 4 or 5 days after the pick-up, the driver said he’d be delivering our goods in the next couple of days. We asked where he intended to unload the items, and he said in our new city and state. We asked him to put the items in storage as we originally requested, and he said if we did that, they would have to charge a $200 re-delivery fee for a local move from storage to our place. We explained this was not in our contract and we wouldn’t pay it.

“Okay, ” the foreman said. “I can wait a day, maybe two days.”

Misleading Payment Options

This is a long story. In short: the company said it would take an up-front payment over the phone – plus a small deposit – but they only took the deposit. On arrival, they wanted a money order. They ended up taking a check and said a check for the rest would be fine on deliver, too. Not so.

On delivery, I got on the phone with the home office and was yelled at and verbally assaulted. He told me he would charge me for the time it took to figure it out, and when I said I wouldn’t pay for that, he began yelling at me. I hung up.

I should also mention the only option for calculating the cost was by cubic foot. After some research we should have clearly went with a by-weight carrier.

The Packing Job – How They Broke and Damaged our Items

A three-bedroom took them 9 hours to pack.
1. The foreman liked to gawk at my things, talk, and nap. He tried to get me to give him one of my military coins.

2. The partner packed the first room – the kitchen – well while I watched, but after I left he did things I wouldn’t discover until they arrived to unload, like carelessly piling random items on top of other random items – to include the contents of dumped-out drawers, scratchable wood, a wood radio/CD player, a heavy, metal, WWII bomb, dumped-out pen holders, old (1800s – early 1900s old) hardcover books tossed in here and there with no care taken to lay them flat, and anything else he could find that would fit – and all of it a tall wardrobe box.

3. They didn’t fit all of our stuff in one truck, either on packing day or on the day it was meant to travel. The bulk arrived a month before the remainder.

On Arrival

The slow foreman was even worse on delivery. After a short time of carrying the smallest boxes, he said he was “sick” and sat in the truck. His partner tried to call some local day labor, but was not successful. I had to help carry the heavy items.

I discovered, in the truck, heavy items piled on light items; breakable items sandwiched between heavy solid items, and an upside-down lawn-mower on top of our boxes. The mower had been drained, but the remaining fluid leaked onto (and seeped inside) that wardrobe box with all those old books in it – along with three new throw rugs (all ruined).

They managed to break the glass of a $200 picture frame, and they also somehow punctured the box holding our TV on the side where the LCD screen was. (To our utter shock, they didn’t damage it.)

They Almost Drove Away With Our Things

On delivery, after ending the heated dispute with the owner about payment and hanging up my phone, I saw the foreman on the phone. He hung up and he and his partner were making a b-line for the truck. I asked where they were going and they said they wanted some breakfast. I told them we would get them breakfast. Anything they wanted – on us. (I had a sneaking feeling they’d been told by the home office to leave.) They declined. They promised they’d be right back. I followed them to the truck with the police on speed dial on my cell phone and told them point blank they were not leaving. If they truly wanted breakfast I’d get it for them, but there wasn’t any way I was letting them drive off. They relented, declined breakfast, and waited while I sat outside the truck and watched them while waiting for my wife to return with the money order.

Reimbursement for Damaged Items? Uh, no.

Probably our fault for not finding the small print, but this company says it reimburses sixty cents PER POUND of damaged items. So, if they lose a million-dollar necklace that weighs half a pound, you get – that’s right – thirty cents from them.

The foreman apologized for the packing and the breaking of things and said, “Text me how much it costs. I’ll send you the money myself.” I made a list (over $600 in damages), texted it to him, and he called back to say he couldn’t pay it. (Naturally.)

See, it seems he dropped one of the money orders we paid with ($500), and that got him fired.

Small victories.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They quoted me around $700 for a move and once they had my items on the truck, they said it would be ANOTHER $1, 000. Like the comments before, they were in a rented truck, NOT from a fleet. The "hired" help said he had never worked with this company before, he was just trying to make some money. They tried to say my 11.6' x 10.6' room had over 450 cu ft of goods - NO WAY. When I called Carol, the person I was working with, and asked her the length of the truck, she told me one length. I then called the driver and he told me a length over 6 feet different! When I pointed it out to him, he said it included the cab. YOU DO NOT INCLUDE THE LENGTH OF THE CAB IN TRUCK LENGTHS! When I talked to the "Supervisor" Adam to ask him about the truck length, he became argumentative and extremely belligerent - completely unprofessional. He ended up yelling at me over the phone and then said he was going to call the police and unload my items. I told him ok. Of course he never called the police. Fortunately I got my goods back and did not fall into his hostage scheme! TOTAL SCAM COMPANY! They also operate under the names "Interstate Relocation", "National Express", "Xpress Relocation, Inc" and "National Express, Inc." AVOID ALL OF THESE!

Everything above stated is true. Dealing with this unprofessional service has been completely terrible. I have lost valuable things and have 3 boxes that don't even belong to me. Run from here. You are better off carrying your things to a new location!

I had the exact experience as well! Now they refuse to call me back on damage claim as well as give me my 10 percent military discount! Keep calling leaving messages. The whole experience was the exact same as I've read above... sure wish I had read this before. It was a nightmare move quickly and just did not have time to research. Never, ever, use Nation Relocation!

Nation relocation did a big bait and hook on us... they gave a low bid proposal and once our belongings were on the truck they said we had far to much for that bid and adjusted it to almost double... if we refused and say no leave our stuff they would only unload after we paid the amount. we had no choice but to pay. Our delivery was due in two days, it took three weeks and there was so much damage to our boxes and furnishings, they never paid for any of the damage even though we had their insurance coverage... its a civil matter...

PLEASE BELIEVE THESE COMPLAINTS, NATION RELOCATION IS A HORRIBLE LYING COMPANY

SCAMMERS! All these reviews are exactly like ours. We have 14 boxes missing and $5000 worth of damaged furniture plus they left most of the master bed room. We had to hire someone else to get the rest to move 622 miles. They also said storage first month free thereafter $300 a month. It was in storage 6 months. They charged us $550 a month. Delivered 5 hrs late. Hired help off Craig's list. When we turned it over to BBB they were not to be found and not even registered with them. Every time we call they hang up on us... These people need to be stopped they are crooks getting away with this over and over!

Every complaint fits our experience with these crooks. They are liers thieves. We had tons of things distroyed. Charged 3 times the amount quoted to us. Came 3 days early because it was on their way. Truck was half full already. They left 8 pieces of furniture. Showed up at 10 pm to start unloading with only the driver. He picked up help locally He stayed 3 hrs said he had to leave to pick up his girlfriend. Driver ask us for change for 100$ to pay him $35. Half of office furniture missing and what he had was falling apart. I cannot express it enough to not use these people. We are personally suing them. BBB contacted. Need I say more. This was aweful. No perfessional at all. All immigrants. Plus they lied about storage. 1st month free thereafter $300 additional per month. Before we could get out things we had to pay $550/month or they would not deliver. Total rip off. Plus there was mold on things which means it was not in a controlled storage. DONT USE THESE SCAMMERS. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF JUST LIKE THEY HAVE HUNDREDS OF OTHERS THAT TRUSTED THEM! Looks like BBB don't care

This comment is completely false. I did some research and if you look at each company they are owned by different people and each has a different DOT number. The offices where this is located are close together and each has a different suite number. Most of the companies listed are closed down. Please make sure you are not confusing the names with companies that are opened now. It just takes a moment to do your research online. THIS COMMENT AGAIN IS COMPLETELY FALSE..

Carol called on 10/6/16 to state that the movers were late due to Hurricane Matthew and they wouldn't arrive to my home until the next day of 10/7/16. However, when I get home the movers call me and say they are 5 minutes away from my house! What ever happen to communication or customer service? Two unprofessional movers (One who could not speak English) picked up my items in Mcdonough with their enterprise truck. The guy who could speak English stated I had more items than quoted and it would cost me $255 dollars more to move my 1 bedroom apartment belongings. They did not break down my table or chairs like the lady over the phone said they will. They didn't even have tools to do so. All they had was blankets and tape. The guy who could speak english kept bribing me for extra money (Cash that is) or few dollars to get Taco Bell. I kept personal items in my bedroom closet that I was going to take with me. Once the movers left I went back to gather those items and noticed my iPod/iPad charger and cord was gone along with my Samsung phone charger and 32 inch tv. I figured maybe they just packed it! I tried calling the guy to confirm but No answer! I move to Dallas and the day of my deliver which was suppose to be at 11am, I hear nothing from no one. Nation Locations just rings and rings, no answer. I call Carol directly and no answer. Finally around 2 pm, a New York number calls saying he will deliver my items around 5 or 6. The tractor trailer came. I gave them the remainder balance that was due with was $664.22 but the guy said he needed over $1, 000 more than what I had in my hand. I said that was incorrect and we needed to call Carol. Carol or anyone else didn't not answer their phone due to Jewish holiday on 10-11-16. The movers and I called back to back and no answer. The movers stated they had to leave because they could not unload without accurate payment. Soon after a guy name Steven calls (with horrible customer service skills) and stated the amount was correct because I went over my cubic feet and there was two flights of steps at my previous apartment. He stated it was in my bill of lading that I signed and had a copy of. I never received a copy only an inventory sheet. And the bill of lading was Blank when I signed it. I asked to explained those additional charges. He would not. He would not give me his supervisor name and warned me his supervisor would curse me out for being upset with him. He threatened to fly to Dallas and curse me out. Threatened to auction my items and told me I would miss out on my hill billy tv shows. He cursed at me. Called me a ###. But luckily I recorded the conversation. The movers came again the next day. I paid them the $1, 000 and some to unload my items. Of course my tv was missing a lot of my items damaged. And Nation relocation will not answer the phone!

Nation Relocation moving from GA is a scam! DO NOT USE THEM! They do not have a physical address and the names of people they give you is fake! They quoted us 1 price and after picking up our things, everything turned to a nightmare. They doubled the estimated price and said we wouldn't get our things for the next 6 or 7 days. They treated us horrible after they picked up our things! They use a rental truck and inexperienced people to move your things. They felt marks and dents everywhere in our house because they didn't know how to move things and they had no equipment's The day of delivery, the truck driver had to wait for a guy he hired of Craigslist to help him unload the truck. The driver refused to take our furniture up stairs, he called my husband f*& stupid for signing their contract, he insulted my in-laws, we even called the police to avoid it from getting worse. A few weeks later we realized that ALL my husband's nice sweaters are missing and also all of my nice winter booths and jackets that we packed in the luggages. They made sure to keep only the good stuff, they old ones are here. So again, stay clear from this company. We are still trying to see what can we do stop these thieves from doing this to other people and we won't stop until we do!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They honestly do not care about the customer's at all! They quoted us a decent price, showed up 5 hours late to pick up our belongings, movers were absolutely unprofessional and not prepared, and they agreed on delivering our belongings the next day. Another lie! We never received a phone call, we waited all day, we call them to ask for an update, but could not get a hold of anyone. The next day (Monday) we had to get a lawyer to finally get a hold of the moving company. Also, we got an e-mail with a "new" estimate, instead of the quote they gave us previously, they wanted us to pay 2x more than the agreement. Moving is being a nightmare, please DO NOT HIRE NATION RELOCATION. They are the worse company, we have never experienced something like this before. This company make their money scamming honest people!
Again, STAY AWAY!

This company is absolutely ridiculous. I should have read these reviews before I hired them, I'm missing a lot of my things, and what I'm not missing is either broken or taken apart, they took a 7 foot book shelf apart (who does that?) they under estimate your move, until they get to where your belongings are to pick up, then they call you and tell you the job is going to be 2k more than the 1st estimate. I'm turning these people into the government/BBB/consumer complaints and who ever I can think of... when the movers FINALLY decided to bring my things to me, they were coming into my home with other peoples belongings, I told them these aren't mine, and was then asked if I wanted to keep them... geez. nice business people,
its not worth it to use these ppl, they are very unprofessional.

This company is a SCAM. I have read the above and my situation was similar. They gave me a great quote. I even called back and added additional costs for additional boxes to avoid being scammed. When they arrived at my home, I had a friend present to oversee the move. All the items were on the list with the exception of some sheets, pillows and blankets. I planned to haul these in my car. They picked up all the items, then told me the extra "cubic feet" for those items equated to $1600. My original move for all furniture etc.. was only $2300. The manager "ADAM" told me if I didn't have cash or postal money orders at delivery, they would keep all of my stuff. They dropped the items in my living room and left, breaking beds, TV's etc... They did not assemble anything and fake name "ADAM" said he would send someone the next day to assemble the beds. It never happened. I reported this company to the IRS since "ADAM" instructed his driver to have me leave the money orders blank (which is fraud). I refused to do this. I also reported "ADAM" to immigration, the Better Business Bureau and I have hired an attorney for extortion. As was mentioned previously, "ADAM" is obviously the owner and the orchestrator of the entire scam. He is nasty, rude, arrogant, disrespectful and a straight "CON MAN". Hopefully, immigration will catch up with him and deport him so he can take his unethical practices out of this country.

Can you tell me if you had problems with the actual delivery? We were suppose to receive our order on 07/03/17. Adam was rude and hung up on my husband. Second delivery was scheduled for 07/13/17. We were informed that while the driver had our Bill of Lading, they had no items. We've been told since that date that the truck is being loaded on Thursday 07/20, then the 21st and were told it was loaded on 07/24. I continue to ask for an ETA. I get NO answer and now, I call and the number hangs up on me. I've left several messages on Adams line and we've even Called the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. I have no idea if we're getting our items or not.

To begin with the drivers were over 6 hours late picking up and then over 6 hours late delivering the next day. According to the drivers, Adam the dispatch person did not even phone the drivers until 9am the day of. My location was 7 hours away. They knew 1 month in advance that I would not have any give on my move day and they agreed to this. I had included some items on my inventory list that I did not have and some I thought were bigger than what they actually were but no adjustments were made in my bill. However I did have 10 extra boxes small size and a quilt rack. This however did make an adjustment to my bill. An additional $312 because they said it added 200 cubic feet. But no adjustment was made for the items that were smaller or not there.
Adam the dispatcher lied to me over this entire job. By calling me at eleven Saturday to say there was a delay with traffic when in fact he didn't dispatch his driver until 9 that morning. I paid $100 for packing my grandfather clock and glass hutch and they used MY cardboard boxes.
DO NOT USE this company they are not honest in what they say. Adam is rude and disrespectful. He also tried to blame the sales associate that booked my order.

Nation Relocation, Inc. were moving in some next door neighbors(Townhouse complex) but blocked the only entrance/exit(also an emergency way) to the complex with their moving truck. When asked to move their truck, they refused. I was forced to call the police, who arrived and made the movers move their truck.

I attempted twice to contact Nation Relocation to voice my complaint and was hung-up on.

My complaints are:
1. These movers parking illegally in an emergency way
2. Refusing to move their vehicle when asked to and needing to be made to move by the police.
3. Unwillingness to receive my complaint about their movers.

Researching the company, as other's have suggested, they seem to move their location often. When I filed a complaint with the BBB, they had several addresses for the same company in Norcross. Their current location is:
Nation Relocation, Inc.
6180 Atlantic Blvd.
Norcross, Georgia, GA, 30071

Avoid these rude movers and owner.

This company is absolutely TERRIBLE. DO NOT USE THEM!
They are conniving liers. The owners aren't even american they're indian or something..

They will steal your money when you don't sign contracts. They are unprofessional, and their business should be shut down.
They gave me different quotes - I asked the lady if i could cancel if i was not happy with the price and she said yes.
Then she turned around and said i couldn't after the cancellation dead line. They stole my deposit. I've reported them to the government for fraudulent business acts.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY

This complaint is ficticious.
Nation Relocation has and is operating under one name, Nation Relocation.
With 6, 000 customers moved annually, one complaint should not be used against your selection of a moving company.
Please take into consideration the aforementioned ratio when selecting your mover.

Thank you.

NO, I would say that this experience listed above is very much in line with the experience my husband and I had with NATION RELOCATION. They said they would arrive on Wednesday afternoon. We were planning on packing up our apartment until then. On Tuesday morning, we got a call that they would actually be there Tuesday afternoon. They then showed up at 11am with only 70% of our apartment packed. They took nearly 9 hours to load a 2 bedroom onto a truck. They didn't even have to pack anything! We had one flight of stairs, they showed up and wanted to charge us for 2 flights because the stairs bent around a corner. After much fighting and discussion, they wanted to charge us twice the price they quoted us. We were able to talk them down, but it was still more than we anticipated. They then joked around and took their sweet time loading the truck. They left giving us the impression that they stayed with the truck, and the truck would go more or less directly to our new state, and that we would meet them there on Sunday. On Saturday, we call to get an accurate time estimate of when they will arrive at our new place- they aren't coming. This is the most hellish part. For 3 weeks we lived in an empty apartment, on an air mattress, trying to track down our stuff. They never initiated contact- they never called us to update us on the progress. It was always us calling multiple different people- often getting voicemails- and getting vague answers. That first Saturday we called we were told our stuff would arrive in one week. Then, on that next Friday we were told actually the stuff would arrive on Tuesday. On Monday we were told Friday, and finally we got a call on Thursday saying they were coming that night. 24 hour notice for our truck? Yeah right. Not only this, but they wanted to charge us extra for stairs we had ALREADY TOLD THEM ABOUT. Things were missing (furniture, boxes), things were broken (multiple pieces of furniture, dishes, etc)...

All in all, the experience was never what they told us it would be. It was more expensive, more stressful, and more heartbreaking than if we had just rented a U-HAUL and done it ourselves. They lied, they avoided, they were unprofessional. Do not use this company- seriously.
