I have been purchasing ginger snaps for many years, today(9/22/15) and the packaging had changed. I compared the new cookies to my older package which I still had a few left in the box. I color is very different about 3 shades lighter, and when I tasted the I could not even taste the ginger, the new ones are almost tasteless. I have a scan attached showing the new and old cookie together.

I totally agree had a taste for some good old fashion ginger snap cookies from Nabisco and was TOTALLY let down. I had to go back and look at the box and the words "Old Fashion" was no longer printed on the box. This would be my last purchased. Bye Nabisco Ginger Snaps

Keebler ginger snaps have new packaging. They still taste ok but every time I eat them I get sick with extreme diarrhea. I've eliminated every other possible cause. I've gotten rid of all illness thinking it was a one-off, then ate a few ginger snaps, and bam! I'm back in the bathroom with cramps and diarrhea. I'm concerned that something is wrong with the cookies.

Who are these people who like to complain so much that they ccpy the complaints of lots of other people? I have used Nabisco Ginger Snaps for years and I find that the complaints of these beggars don't hold water. Until a couple months ago I have continued to find them on the shelf in my grocery stores. Suddenly they are gone and I can not find a single person with enough spine to speak up to why this happened. I am disgusted with this garbage. SPEAK UP SOMEONE. i SUSPECT THIS IS A PLAN BY BUSINESSES TO INCREASE THE PRICE SO THEY CAN REAP A GREATER PROFIT WHEN THE PUBLIC DEMANDS THAT THEY RETURN TO AVAILABILITY!

I agree. Ginger Snaps were my favorite cookie - I've been eating them since the 1950s. Just tried a box for over $5.00 and got hard, tasteless, cheap-tasting cookies with squiggles stamped on the tops. Disgraceful! Nabisco, you should be ashamed. You lost another lifetime customer, hope you're happy with your deceit.

Yep, same for me. How could they change them to be so terrible! Molasses is now way down on the list of ingredients below corn syrup, so they now taste just like any other sweet tasteless hard cookie, with a little more spice in it. They have no real flavor at all. They cost me $6.25 today in a nearby store, which I paid, expecting and wanting those great dark ginger snaps, that had stayed fairly consistent and good for decades. Like so many products now, that someone who was hired and had to find a job to do, fixed something that was never broken. Now Ginger snaps are on the list of something that I loved in the past but which don't exist any more, and I will never buy your Nabisco phony ginger snaps again. They awful.

I’ve agreed! I’ve been eating Nabisco Ginger Snaps and there was serious recall, to very highly levels of certain products that very unhealthy to consume! I finally saw 2 BOXES ON RALPHS GROCERY STORE SHELF and got so happy I was finally able to find them.. To much surprise they Taste LIKE GARBAGE, very (light in color) and taste like PURE SUGAR! Absolutely NO GINGER TASTE! When call this new corrupt Company that bought Nabisco Products DON’T ANSWER ANY OF THEIR LINES IN CALIFORNIA OR ANY OTHER STATE LISTED FOR A CONTACT!

SHAME ON NABISCO FOR DROPPING THE BALL AND SELLING PRODUCTS TO THIS INCOMPETENT, CRIPPLED AND CORRUPT COMPANY! NASTIEST COOKIES I’VE EVER TASTED, THEY TASTE LIKE LIGHT LIGHT BROWN PURE SUGAR BRICKS!

Seriously... imprinting squiggly marks on the top of Giner Snaps to make them appear to like real ginger snaps... Nabisco now makes what taste like cardboard discs with fake lines on the top... Reminds me of the Chicken people painting 'Grill Marks' on chicken they tried to sell a 'Grilled'... In a time of FAKE... Nabisco takes the Cookies when it comes to the latest Ginger Snaps... I guess there's a reason Nabisco doesn't say made with Real Molasses on the package anymore... Printing in fake lines on your cookies is a major insult to your Customers... Your previous Customers... It used to be Buy-Buy Nabisco... Now it's Bye-Bye Nabisco.

i agree! i just finally was able to find a box of the nabisco brand and was disappointed in what i found in the box, they are NOT THE SAME! the Great Value ones at walmart taste like the old nabisco ones, but my only trouble with them is that they have a lot of broken ones in the box.

What a hideous disappointment! These taste more like animal crackers than anything else. Where is the molasses flavor? Where is the biting ginger flavor? I'm a diabetic and I have to carefully choose what carbs I eat. Ginger Snaps USED to be a cookie I would 'splurge' on. No more. No buy!

I had been a longtime ginger snaps lover; NO MORE! These are terrible, and they didn't even have the decency to advise of the new recipe on the box. I hereby pledge to never buy a Nabisco product again.

Wow... Finally I saw my favorite Nabisco Ginger Snaps back on the shelves... Immediately I noticed that the "Made with Real Ginger and Molasses" highlight was changed to just ginger... and then - when I opened them - I saw a light colored benign cardboard looking disc that looked like a cardboard disc with FAKE stamped in lines to try to give the illusion of wrinkly cookie appearance. Tastes like cardboard too... NO MORE NABISCO. STOUFFERS Ginger Snaps are now TOPS - at best price and best taste... You screwed up such a good thing Nabisco... I used to think Buy-Buy... Now it will be Bye-Bye Nabisco Fake Ginger cardboard discs... Seriously - You stamp in lines trying to fool your customers... Think we're dumb... We now know you are...

I’m 64 years old, and grew up with ginger snaps. They were my favorite cookie especially with milk. These new ones are horrible. They’re thin with zero flavor may as well eat a piece of cardboard. I’m not even sure there’s ginger in it anymore. The company should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pass them off as GINGER SNAPS.

I am also very disappointed. The old recipe was softer - just the right consistency to have a little crunch, but also soft cookie. I just sold my daughter on buying them because she tried the old formula and loved them too. Now I try these hard, small, cookies with no molasses flavor and want to cry. Did you think we wouldn't notice? Please change them back to the original!

I grew up these Ginger Snap Cookies. I am now 67 years old. I quit buying them as I couldn't afford nearly $5.00 a box. But I decided to splurge and get a box. What a disappointment. The taste is nasty they taste moldy. There are no cravices on the tops. They are too light in color. They are over all nasty to eat, and look at. I will never purchase them again. I was so excited and I couldn't wait for what I remembered eating. BOY WHAT A LET DOWN! IF IT ISN'T BROKE DON'T TRY TO FIX IT! YOU RUINED IT! I only ate one and THREW the rest in the trash!

THEY'VE RUINED RITZ CRACKERS!
I am livid! Just went out and bought a big box as I had a hankering for them tonight.
Opened up a sleeve, couldn't wait to pop one in my mouth. Right of the bat, I can't even pull a single cracker out because they're all broken! They're all crumbling. And they seem thin to me.
So I pull out a whole other sleeve and open that. I immediately notice they're thin. TOO thin. Abnormally thin. It's not my imagination. No WONDER they're broken, Theyre too thin and they don't hold up!
They're not the characteristic plump and rich golden color. They don't even look like Ritz Crackers.
And they don't taste like them either.

I am very VERY UPSET (!) and plan to write a STRONG letter to Nabisco.

IS NOTHING SACRED?

Anybody else notice this?

As someone who grew up last century and know these cookies, I can safely tell you that some money grubbing representative of this company has changed the recipe. There is far less molasses and ginger, and somehow they have managed to make this biscuit into a cross between terracotta tile and a Milk Bone dog biscuit. Even the box misrepresents this incredibly hard and tasteless cookie.

My mom used to buy these for me when I was little and I’d dip them in milk. I bought a box to make a ginger snap crust for a cheesecake and I couldn’t believe how hard they were! I almost broke a tooth biting into it! They’re like concrete! If this is what you call a cookie you’re in the wrong business!

R.I.P. Nabisco Ginger Snaps. I don’t know what they are putting in the box now. They should change the name to “New And Improved” just like Coke did. Hmmmmm how did that work out?

I was addicted to nabisco ginger snaps, so much so that I had to wean myself off them for a while, they were so so good I just couldn’t help myself, so after I stopped for a few years I forgot all about although them catching my eye in the grocery store every now and then, so today for some reason my husband came home with a box and I decided to eat a few, looking for that same wonderful taste of ginger and molasses with the spicy taste, I was shocked with disgusting taste of something that taste like a dollar store ginger snap, it was disgusting. well I don’t have to worry about getting hooked again, because I will never eat another nabisco ginger snap again. SO SAD😥

what have you done to my gingersnaps. when I try to bite into one, it bites back. They're thin, hard with less flavor. Definitely not like the old gingersnaps at all. Why alter an american treasure?!

I just googled "are nabisco ginger snaps thinner?" and found this complaint board right away. OMIGOSH, it's not just my imagination or menopausal fog brain, they really are thinner! I've enjoyed Nabisco Ginger Snaps above all others, mostly in the winter with a gingery cup of chai. I tried another brand a year or so back, and they just didn't compare, so today I purchased Nabisco's ginger snaps again. While they still have a nice gingery taste, they are wafer thin and nothing like the ginger snap I remember. For the price, which was double that of the other options on the shelves, they're just not worth it, were a huge disappointment, and I won't be buying them again. So sad :(

I am very disappointed in these new ginger snaps. They are a shadowy substitute for what once was the greatest cookie on earth. Whatever executive approved this should be forced! Where is the ginger? Where is the yummy molasses? The shape has changed, too. I liked the recipe you had before. I won’t be buying Nabisco Ginger Snaps again unless I hear that someone with common sense has stepped up, grown a pair, and fixed this mess!

At the risk of repeating, my wife and I have enjoyed your Ginger Snaps for well over 40 years...it was her favorite cookie. Recently, the texture flavor and color changed. Not enough leavening in the dough making it flat and hard, not crispy. The distinctive taste of molasses and ginger diluted leaving cookie with little of the original taste. As a career Chef, I don't understand the reason to change a product to something worse. At first I thought there might be a quality control problem, but then discovered that I must have been getting some of the ending inventory of the previous recipe. Sadly...I just don't get it and will look for another Ginger Snap cookie.

So sad to bite into my favorite boxed cookie -- and have it be so textureless and different. Even the aesthetics (the little, wormy pressed lines in the top, the faint caramel color, the thinness) disappoint.

What happened, Nabisco? Why the big change to such a previously perfect product?

I agree with the negative comments. Like so many others, I've enjoyed Ginger Snaps for decades. Until today, when I opened a new box. I can only describe them as greasy and flavorless, thinner and way too brittle, even though I realize they are meant to be a hard cookie.
It makes me angry. I will be switching to Keebler today when I buy groceries.
Meanwhile, I hope the squirrels in my yard won't reject these horrible cookies, either. I thought I could always trust Nabisco. Now I'm a skeptic.

I purchased a box of Nabisco Ginger Snaps I grew up on these I have loved them since my earliest childhood and I'm 63 now I purchase a box today got home to find out that they have changed the recipe they've changed the color the texture isn't the same The Taste is awful I will never buy another box of these cookies that's sad because four years back I have begin to share my love of these cookies with my grandchildren and I cannot give them this nasty mess that I bought today.
Nabisco your product is awful this product is just completely not acceptable.

I just opened after not purchasing them for awhile. They got so expensive but I treated myself. I noticed changes right away. They are thinner and that on top. They also dud not have the crispness I like. So sad that this favorite traditional cookie has lost the quality fir cheaper molasses and manufacturing. I won't buy them Agsin.

I've been eating Nabisco ginger snaps for 30 plus years. The new recipe is bland and tastes like all the other cookies on the shelf. If you are going to change the recipe at least publicize the old recipe so we can make our own. No one who's tasted the original will ever eat your new product. I'm taking mine back to the store to get my money back.
