My Perfect Resume AKA LiveCareer advertized to build a resume for $4.95. My 18 year old daughter borrowed my wife’s credit card to charge the $4.95. She did not notice the fine print about a recurring $34.95 charge if she did not cancel within 7 days. This was back in May of 2012. To date my Credit card has been charged monthly for a total of over $500. The site has never even been logged onto since her first attempt to create a resume. This is a total scam preying on those that are not savvy to this type of scam. Anyone that has an endless recurring charge should have the ethics to at least send an email when their service has not been used for a few months. Please do not support this company and its unethical business practice

I canceled my subscription in October and realized I was still being charged contacted them and said that there are two sites that are the same function and had to cancel from both! Even though you sign up on one. Scammed me. Then the entire time I am asking them to cancel everything they continue to try to hold me there till I agree to a lesser charge. 45 minutes of continuously asking them to just cancel me on everything they finally did. Maybe. I am disputing charges now because how is anyone to know they are two sites linked and have to cancel from both!?

FRAUD! I had an account in 2020, that has been canceled since 2020. Today 12/01/2022 there was a charge of $23 to my bank account, 2 YEARS LATER. I called the company and they can not find any of my information even though I am able to log in online. They kept trying to get me to give them my entire debit card number to find the charge, yeah right. It has been reported to the bank and authorities as fraud.

I’m not sure how to go about starting a class act lawsuit but I’m going to try. They can’t get away with time. I was duped for a year. No bill or statement. I used it once. Never signed up for a membership. They refunded 3 payments and won’t respond to my emails.

Oh my god! I should have read the reviews on My Perfect Resume first before using their service. I used their service for once to write my resume thought I only need to pay S$2.95 for that one time usage. Subsequently I'm being charged for subscription fee of S$34.95 for every month without me realising it. Up till now $107.79 has been deducted from my bank account. I'm a POOR UNI Student, is there by any chance the company will refund me?

I've been charged $35/mo ever since my daughters Syracuse University account was hacked back in 10/2015. I never thought to ask her because I saw "perfume" in the name and stupidly thought she was ordering hair products. I don't have a lot of money and frankly it hurts to know this scam has been going on for so long. I hope some takes advantage of every employee at your company. $1000+. you people should be ashamed!

Wow, reading through these comments is exactly what happened to me! I made a one time purchase July 2017, I cancelled a few days later. Now..11 months later still being charged $24.95 monthly. I guess I'm an idiot for not checking my statements more closely...it was a small enough amount that when I glanced at my account it didn't stand out. But for them to continually charge for 11 months when there was ZERO activity from me on their site. Not to mention I cancelled! No email, no phone call, nothing, just keep charging my card. Despicable. I am filing complaint with BBB.

I have allowed payment on 18-12-2017 one time to your company my perfect resume. All the rest deduction made (at 02-01-2018; 31-01-2018; 27-02-2018; 24-04-2018 and [protected].7 USD In aggregate is without my complete consent and completely out of my knowledge. I have unsubscribed today as I checked there is a monthly subscription by name made. I am fully aware I did nt made that agreement. After LiveCareer US Customer Care send the following refund email on May 29 at 8:01 PM ["..., I spoke with my supervisor regarding your situation and she approved 2 additional refunds for $24.95 each one. The total amount we refunded was for $74.85 and unfortunately, that is the maximum amount we are allowed to process...}

I HAVE BEEN AGAIN DEBITED THREE TIMES IN a DAY( 5/29/2018). Yes your company took a whole new 74.84 usd from my account . This is after your scam company stated in the email to refund half of the previous an authorized deduction 74.84 usd.

Hi, have you solve this problem yet? It happened to me again, charged me nearly 1000 NZD, and after cancellation, charged me 34.9 three time in one day and charged another 34.9 three time in another day. So bad experience.
Please tell me how to deal with it if you got any idea, thanks very much.

myperfectresume.com as well as livecareer.com are both scams of this nature. Advertise a low price for 2 weeks or one month access, but if you try to cancel before that time they revoke your access to the site that you JUST PAID FOR. They obviously want you to relent, wanting to use the "service" you just paid for, and forget to cancel after the allotted time. They can send people to post whatever BS pleasantries that they'd like but the internet is littered with people aware that they are a scam company.

Also, under no circumstances any employee is authorized to revoke an access, it's unethical and we don't practice it either. There is even a self-cancellation feature under “My Account” on our website if service is no longer needed.

1) " The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page in bullets point, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages in a paragraph. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal" NO ! NOT AT ALL! NOT AT LEAST IN MY CASE ! I ( account number in ur site [protected] )DID NOT RECEIVE NONE OF THIS ! none at all!

2) the canceling is temporary. You refresh it again ! why this my account after the status i changed it to expiry went i n to basic WITH OUT NONE OF MY ACTION. BUT BY YOU!?

Yesterday I also received a message I have been charged $24.95. I have sent an email from to that company. But I didn't receive any response up to now. In China, every charge need auth code. I can't image a company can charge me without auth code. I want to take back my money and cancel the account.

I just realized yesterday that I was being charged U$35 dollars monthly without any email warning from the company, not even the first time, and I just used once to do my resume. I have paid for 3 months something that I dont use and in the webpage does not give the option to cancel, only show the telephone and email. It is terrible to do business in that kind of fraudulent way. I expect to have my money back, as I never agree to have a monthly payment.

This website is a complete fraud, I had signed for 14 days subscription as a initial process. But they deducted 28$ without any information. When tried to call to there toll-free number it was not working and said out of service.

We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings.

Cancellation stops the auto-renewal. Once it’s canceled, we send a cancellation confirmation email for your records. This means that if the cancellation is process during the 14 days access your account will not receive any charges except for the initial one. You can see here in the pictures provided some of the statements that we offer in the page with the auto renewal statement.

Hello, name is John Strickland from the Cook Islands. I should have known, have similar experience like the above members. I just got myself registered 27th January whee I was asked to pay $2.92 US etc.. in good faith, did process. But since this company have been drawing out fees and now, they just took out $55.00US without even my knowledge. Sorry this is ### and definitely something wrong here meaning is theft and fraud.
Ill be checking further with Interpol and this company should be shut out of the face completely

I did my sons resume understanding it cost a couple of dollars. I wake this morning to find a further $50.68 is going to be deducted from my bank account. I want this transaction cancelled immediately. Do not take this money from my account or any other money .I will take further action if this is not stopped. I have used resume building services last month and have paid for that. I was told that the service is valid until Oct 31st 2015. I suddenly got a charge on my card today for no reason. Not sure why I am receiving this recurring charges. Please reverse the charges immediately. I have never used your services post that.

I am a one-on-one tutor at a tertiary institution, working with students who have learning disabilities. One of my students had to write a CV for her assignment, and was lured in by their 'Free' CV templates. She spent hours on it, got to the end and discovered she had to pay. I felt sorry for her and decided to pay the small amount on my debit card. I've just had $56US stolen from my bank account by this company. First they lie saying it's free, then they have a small charge, then they charge monthly. And I'm a single mum, struggling, who wanted to do something nice for a student who worked very hard. You have 3 days to get in touch with me and her (greykittiewhanau@yahoo.co.nz & moola.nicola@gmail.com), cancel my/her account and refund my money, or the administration & legal department at the tertiary institution I work for will be in touch with you. I highly recommend you act before it gets to this point.

My name is James Henley and I bought your product back around May 2013 and have paying ever since.
I have sent two emails and called your number (with no answer) twice. So far I figure, my helping a friend with a resume has cost me over $200.00 and growing. STOP taking out money from my account. I just needed that one resume. I'm NOT a company that makes resumes for a living. I don't mind paying $34.95 once because I didn't read the fine print, but over $200.00 with no end in sight, that's a RIP OFF. From what I'm seeing I'm not the only one that your ripping off.
STOP Charging me for what I'll never use again.
