Australian Provider number on my bill

Further info:
It is not enough to block this service through Telstra. You must call the number listed on your bill as the "provider" and tell them you want to lodge a complaint, amazingly they will then give you the right number to call in Australia. Call and request that the service be stopped. If the charges were made on the phone of an child under 18, by law they have to give you a refund. Hope this helps

I too am trying to find out how to cancel this on my son's phone who has over $100 billed to his phone account.
Did call the number on the bill for SYBASE [protected] but they sounded as bogus as the charges.
On the phone to Telstra now

I've been using computers for 30 years and *I* nearly fell for it the other day. Sometimes things aren't always as clear cut as they seem.

Whether you like it or not it is *still* a scam... !

MWAYTS Unauthorized billing!

I have had over $55.00 worth of unauthorized 'items' from MWAYTS which I never purchased - I paid the first bill (on my Telstra account) because 'stupid me' I thought I had accidentally purchased something when I was looking at 'FREE' ringtones for my mobile.

Have Telstra ( your Provider) put on a restriction on your mobile phone for premium texting - this will stop the third party purchases from telemarketing scammers.

I had this same experience. Did an IQ test on Facebook and was told to enter mobile number to get results. I then received $122.40 of nuisance SMS's at $6.60 per hit! Lodged a complaint with Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman who gave me a high level number to ring in Telstra. The response I got from Telstra was very helpful, for a change! They said there was indeed an obscure charge proviso written at the bottom of the (provide mobile number) page, but that whilst it was within the letter, its ethicality was dubious. On that basis, they waived ALL the SMS charges and indeed, rang Sybase 365, from whom all this originates, and told them to lay off.

I pulled this from LinkedIn

Seems we have one of the puppet masters behind this massive fraud advertising his genius on a business networking site. I think you know what to do with this, but please don't clog up his email account at david@fuselageone.com with a lot of nasty emails telling him what you think. Now that would be unethical and of questionable...

Stupid me - I filled out a "Free" IQ Test from a link on the Weather Zone site.
And the text messages started and keep on coming. It is no good turning off the phone as they just deliver when you next turn on and I think you have already been charged for them. My total is now $79.95 for the last bill and I made not one call on my mobile.

I have been advised by a senior person from the Dept of Communications to complain to the Ombudsman and then Telstra have to do something.

I have had 4 charges worth about $18.50 all up for a number of months now and I do not even use that mobile number anymore! I am not going to pay for this anymore, it is fraud and Telstra is complicit!

I am facing the same problem, I went to telstra Shop when I see the first time $6.60 charegs for separate purchase, They told me its my subscription. I have never subscribed for this service so after argument as I was lots of other billing complaints as I have paid more than $700 in 3 months. And confused bills.
I was told that everything will be taken care but finally when I received the bill I was charged $59.40 for the services called MWAYTS. And same argument and same answers, they say Telstra is not responsible its 3'rd party service, my stand on this is why Telstra is billing for 3, rd party without any secured way.
THATS VERY CLEAR AND LOOKS LIKE THIS IS TELSTRA STRATEGY TO EARN EXTRA MONEY UNDER THE NAME OF MOBILE 365 PTY LTD WHICH DONT HAVE ANY WEBSITE OR ANY CONTACT DETAILS. TELSTRA GIVES YOU NO WHICH SAYS PLEASE CHECK THE NO IT DOSE NOT EXISTS. NO IS [protected].

THIS SEEMS LIKE TELSTRA SCAM

Our last phone bill had 10 of these charges on it. The even stranger part is that there were 2 lots of 4 calls, each of the 4, same date, same time and the 10 calls average out at $5 each.
I get the impression that the only way Telstra will get the message is if people change service providers in response to their "oh no thats not us" type of reply.
Where is our ACCC on this matter. As it has been happening for a long time one would suspect they have their heads securely in the sand and don't give a ###!
This is organised crime of the very worst type.

On my Telstra Bill for last month (June) there was an item under my mobile phone for "Separate Purchases: 9 [protected] MT - $45.01.

This number is also used by a company called mBill.

When I inspected my Telstra "Calls yet to be billed" there were four more items under MWAYTS @ 5.00 (incl. GST).

I contacted Telstra about this, the person I talked to filled out a form and spoke to her supervisor. I told her that there was no way I was going to pay for something I hadn't ordered or asked for, so I paid the Bill less the $45.01.

I rang Telstra again today (29 July 2008) over that and another matter and was informed that the matter hadn't yet been resolved. I reiterated that I wouldn't be paying for anything which I hadn't ordered - no way, and left on equitable terms.

One of my main concerns is that I hold Telstra somewhat at fault because they are literally acting as a collector for what appears as questionable companies with blatantly dishonest practices.

MWAYTS Deceptive business practices

I've received text messages from Mwayts through a service called 19745555MT in my Telstra mobile, which I didn't requested or authorized. The messages now have stop coming but there's still $120 worth of messages that I'd like to be refunded. I've called the number they provide and it's impossible to talk to anyone, there's just a message saying all operators are busy! As if! Who's gonna pay me back now? Can anyone help me finding a proper number that I can talk to someone and get my money back?

This has happened to me also and I think it is disgusting that it may be allowed to continue.

I have done some digging around and the company name responsible for this is SYBASE 365 PTY LIMITED

It's a SCAM. A subsidiary company run by Sybase Australia Pty Ltd, who refuse to claim any responsibility for the unauthorized charged inflicted upon you . However I advise you contact them direct and let them face the wrath of angry consumers whom they have ripped off. Their number is 9936 8800 and they are in North Sydney.

MWAYTS Unauthorized charges on my mobile phone!

When I started a plan with Telstra, MWAYTS kept sending me these messages that I didn't know anything about. It's caller "Flirt Club". I deleted them, but when I got the bill from Telstra, it cost me $99.00 a month, even though I put a stop on it. Rang Telstra, and they said, I will stll get charged, even if I put a stop on it, unless Telstra put a bar on my phone. Now, I've got another bill from Telstra, and it's even worse. I'm going to switch on to Vodafone, which I was before, and I had no problem with pre-paid at all., until my partner talked me into it, to switch to Telstra which is my big mistake.

Beware!

Celldarado have been messing with me too. Sending me txt's that I was deleting cause I didn't have time to read junk txt's. But when my next bill came I was suprised to see they have charged me $4.50 per txt.
I found out what was going on through vodafone, they gave me celldorado's number which I called. They said I had subscribed on line. I checked out the website that I had never seen before. Celldorado have not been at all responsive to my problem and they are obviously a scam. I don't want to pay them for what I never subscribed to and want to sort this out. If anybody knows who I could contact about this problem I would love to sort it out. My bill to them will be around $50, they've wasted my time $$$ and time and obviously many other peoples.

MWAYTS Don't use MWAYTS [protected] MT!

3 months ago I purchased 1 game from MWAYTS, I read the fine print sent STOP after receiving game, only to be charged 4 more times $20 later. Rang Telstra they told me that sending Stop is not as affective as sending Unsubscribe, so did that. Received text from MWAYTS stating I had been Unsubscribed. All over NOTTTTTT! Next bill from Telstra same thing. Contacted Telstra they put a bar on Texts, which I thought I already had? they refunded me $25, I sent 3 more STOPS to you it guessed MWAYTS. Have now switched off phone for a month to see what happens on the next bill. Please don't use these bogus sights. I did this in good faith. I was happy to pay $6.50 for 1 game, Not $20 a month for the next 3 months later. Do yourself a favor don't give into your kids. Don't use MWAYTS [protected] MT.
