Mr Price Group / MRP unhelpful service

Good day to all relevent parties.

I have been trying for 3 weeks to locate an item SKU [protected]. I need 2 x medium of the gold swimming costume. I have been put in contact with the only store that has mediums in stock which is your Green Aches store. I am in Empangeni and according to your care line they do not delivery to an outside province. I am the owner of the largest dance school on KZN and use your clothes for costuming on an extremely regular basis. The only option they have given me is to have someone come into the store and pay for the items then they can be couriered and will take up to 4 weeks. That is unacceptable for me. I can not travel there and do not know of anyone in the town to help out. They also do not have a direct line that is working as I have tried to contact them for the past week on the only number they gave me which does not work. I spoke to a lady by the name of Celeste who was extremely rude to me and even asked me to stop talking while I was introducing myself and my order to her as I had never spoken to her before and would have liked to catch her up on everything. I do not feel like I have been helped at all and I or my entire school of over 80 pupils do not want to have to look for other clothing options.

Mr Price Group / MRP new account applications

I had applied for an account with mrp received an SMS to say I qualify for an amount if I submit docs. Minutes later I get declined saying I don't have surplus so I enquired and received feedback with old figures that were obtained from ur system. How can an application be declined with incorrect information. This is unscrupulous and I really think u should put another system that works in place.

Mr Price Group / MRP clothing

Good day,

I was on the 17 th of October 2018 at the Mr Price Home clothing department outside the Mall.

I was so shocked for the service I received.

I went to the ladies dressing room to try a outfit.

The lady had a hood over her head and leaning against the table, not pleasant or friendly. I greeted her and she just looked at me.

I asked if I could enter and fit the clothing. her answer was:

Take there? She did not stand up and give me a ticket number but said take there.

I had to turn and look for the ticket number.

Is this service? Do we take pride in our work?

Where is the Manager of this department?

I am a regularly customer of this store and loves shopping at MRP.

Mr Price Group / MRP disgusting customer service!

I am beyond disgusted with the service received from fraudulent Mr Price Home Menlyn. I am at the point where I will not only furthermore support Mr Price Home in Menlyn, but any Mr Price and Mr Price Home.

On the 7th of October I went to Mr Price Home in Menlyn, I made a purchase of R269.69. The first time they swiped my card it said declined and the second time the card went through. As I know the machines sometimes gives issues I immediately checked my bank account. Both transactions went off. I showed the cashier and she shrugged her shoulders saying ''it will be reversed back in about 3 days''. I was not very happy but these things happen.

On the 10th of October when I went onto my bank, I see that both transactions nou went off saying ''Cheque Card Purchase'' so my bank could not reverse this as it is already with Mr Price Home's bank. Now, how on earth they can bank a transaction with a declined slip blows my mind!

I phoned my bank and they said that because the money is banked I need to go to Mr Price Home and they should refund me the money. I went to the store on Sunday 14 October 2018 at 11h00. I said I want to speak to a manager, no one was on duty accept for an assistant, Ruth. I explained everything to her and said that I want my money in cash as I am not waiting any longer for a mistake from their side. Ruth told me ''it is fine m'am, please just go get me a bank statement from your bank as proof that the transactions went off''. I did this and immediately returned to the store with my bank statement.

Ruth then phoned Absa who confirmed to her that both transactions is in Mr Price Home's account and needs to be returned to me. As I walked to a cashier to collect the money the phone rang, on the line with Ruth was the store manager, Anuscha.

She told Ruth not to refund my money, they should send the documents to head office who needs to do the refund.

After an hour I was now really upset, because Ruth kept on saying there is nothing we can do I must wait for the refund. Ridiculous!

I then phoned Mr Price Home customer service while in the store and advised them what happened, the lady then spoke to Ruth and Ruth returned the phoned to me, the lady at Customer Service then said, ''M'am they need to follow procedures and they cannot help you.'' I then said to her I will take this further, even to the Ombudsman if I have to, she replied ''That's fine, do it''.

Mr Price Home should maybe change their Customer Service department name to Disgusting Service and Fraud department.

I then dropped the phone and spoke to Ruth and said to her that I am not leaving the store without my money. I then asked her, only as a scenario, what if this was my last R269 and I needed it? She then phoned her manager again saying that I am very upset and won't leave the store and then she went as far as saying, with a line filled with customers and loud, ''THE LADY SAID IT IS HER LAST MONEY AND SHE NEEDS IT''?

I eventually had to leave and I was fighting fire with fire. I then said to Ruth that I will not be phoning and following up as this was not my mistake. Yet I am taking time out of my day to write this.

Anuscha then phoned me on Monday saying I do not need to worry, all documents has been send to head office for the refund and she will constantly keep me updated. We are now at Thursday, still no feedback or refund.

How on earth is it fine for Mr Price Home to STEAL my money, but if I now walk into the store and help myself to products, that will not be pretty.

I WILL take this matter further and I demand someone of higher authorities to get back to me before Friday. I do not want a hideous automated message stating ''we do apologize for the inconvenience and the matter has been escalated'' I want someone to phone me who actually cares about Customer Service and the brand name.

I have seen a lot of bad service in South Africa, but so much of Customer Service I have never seen.

It also is not about the money, it is the principle and the way I was treated on Sunday made me feel like the enemy, not the most important part of your business.

Ruth took all the slips and documents, so all I have is my bank statement.

Mr Price Group / MRP unhelpful

I bought R1200 worth of clothing at Mr Price Sport in Carnival Mall and had 2 items that weren't suitable sizes and when coming in the first item being womens training pants they didn't have the size but on their system it showed they had 8 in the correct size. I ended up taking a different item of the same value and something else in the place of my second item but it was R100 less. I then went to the counter and when ringing up everything I get told that because I used a debit card they will need to refund the money to the card which is a procedure normally used for a credit card and I didn't have my card with me. It's a R100 I tell them but they say I must either buy something for the value or leave the slip and come back when I do have my card or they can issue me with a gift card. Again I say, it's a R100, I just spent R1200 yesterday? I say is there not someone i can talk to higher up and maybe we can make a plan but they were like very reluctant so i just said give me the gift card but be sure i wont buy at Mr Price again. Only when kicking up a fuss did they propose purchasing something for R100 and giving me the R100 back in cash which is a very round about and illogical way and this after like almost 15 minutes of refusing to give me a cash refund

I ordered online on the 2nd of October, made eft payment on the same day. Sent proof of payment in on the 10th of October as my online order kept saying awaiting payment. Haven't heard from MRP since I sent my POP in and this morning my online order status has changed to cancelled with no correspondence from MRP as to why or if my money will be refunded

Mr Price Group / MRP mr price mobile / vodacom

I had a contract with Mr Price Mobile last year with 1gb for R79.00 for 12 months it expired this year end August 2018.They called again this year telling me they are going to renew it up to 2gb+2gb free for =R129.00 on the 1st of September I waited for the data they did not install it I called them they told me Vodacom rejected the data.I called Vodacom they told me I must re-Rica my simcard when I came back they told me they cancelled the contract because I delayed rica' my sim but when I saw my statement they charged me -R129.00 FOR A DATA I DID NOT RECEIVE the one they told me they cancelled it .Mr Price Mobile and Vodacom are playing with peoples money I will not pay R129.00 for something I did not receive.Oct 1st I received 1gb on my phone I called Mr Price and enquire about 1gb data they told me they don't know about it .When I call Vodacom they told me its Mr Price what exactly is going on?Are you trying to play with my mind me here?

Good day
I have an issue at hand. In 2016 March I took a contract phone with Mr Price Mobile and I only used it for +-4 months due to over charges and I will end up paying more than the agreed amount of R99. However I stopped using the phone since and waited for 24 months to come to pass and paid every month end.

I stopped paying in April 2018 and customer services called me and demanded that I pay the 3 months as I did not terminate the contract with them of which they claim to have mentioned it on the phone during the 1st stage of selling me the phone over the phone. I however felt defeated and paid R200 then R100 2 days later. I then told them to cancel it as I don't need it and I will not be paying anymore and the lady on the phone confirmed everything and assured me that they have cancelled it on their side.

This month (September) again the customer services calls me and says I need to pay R200 or they will take legal action against me. When on the phone with the customer services personnel I told him that I did terminate the contract in June and he said it's fine he will revert back the message and close the call. I find myself paying for Mr Price Phone every month at what value. I have asked for all call records of which no prevail. What needs to be done in order for my name not to associated with Mr Price Mobile?

I bought a mirror on the 23rd of September 18 and the price of R499.99 was deducted twice from my account. The manager told me the bank will reverse the one amount it self. Eventually i went to the store on Thursday 27.9.18 and took all my proof. Now the manager tells me that the money will only be paid back by Wednesday the 3rd of Oct 18. This is totally unacceptaple. Mr Home sitting with my money for 10 days and all they have to do is a eft.

Mr Price Group / MRP bad services

I've been with mr price home for about 6-7, I never had problem with them always making sure my account is up to date up untill this year 2018 my account payment was delayed is whereby I start knowing side of mr price imployees, missed payments ones they was calling me like nobody's busy don't even care that I might be from work they don't even ask if is it the correct time of calling, they was very rude to me n very undermining is where I notice that good client get mistreated and bad client get good service, "my question is when u up to date with the account why was I not being called for being trusted? But my one wrong move missed one payment it was like I stole from the shop? Keep the bad client and push away good people in future training u employees to check the record of the client before they attack us n the correct time of calling i'm so sad to close the account I was forced by your employees behaviour they very rude

Mr Price Group / MRP tekkie

Hi.
I bought a pair of tekkies for my son 3 weeks ago from Mr Price in Komatipoort. Three days later the sole of one started to come loose. We stuck it with glue. A week later the soles of both statred to open up in the front. Again I stuck it with shoe glue. Now again last night my son showed me that the sole is again coming apart for the 3rd time.

Mr Price Group / MRP maxed terrain headlamp monkey

We bought this headlamp for our grandson who is 4 years old and was in hospital. The monkey headlamp was meant to help him through the night in the scary confines of a hospital. Much to our disappointment and more to his, there were no batteries included. We had specifically checked that there were batteries included and it clearly stated that 2 AAA batteries were included.

Receive a text yesterday stating that my monthly installment has increased due to my recent Purchase, it's been months since I last used my account. I am 100% sure that it was not I who used the account. Can you please send me statement inorder for me to check what is happening on the account. Mr Price Group / MRP quality clothing

On 2018/09/07 I bought a Slouchy Shirt with ITEM code [protected] to the value of R139.99 from Mr Price in Centurion mall.

After the first wash the shirt had a tear in it at the back of the shirt on the actual seem. Once I noticed the tear I could see that the quality and stitching done on the shirt is really poor. Photo's added.

I had the same experience last year with the same type of shirt I bought from Mr Price in Centurion mall. I bought one, it tore after the first wash, I then returned it and it and the returned shirt also tore on several other places after the first wash. I did not return the second shirt again as it was already an inconvenience to me to return it the first time. I was hoping it was just a bad batch.

This experience has now left me with serious issues wrt the quality of your clothing and I will not be purchasing any more clothing for our family at any of your clothing stores.

I will now have to return to the store again to return the shirt which is an inconvenience to me.

Mr Price Group / MRP mobile

Hi

I have been a MR Price supporter and a card holder for a very long time but I was quite annoyed with the technical service of the mobile/cellular department.

Between the 6th-9th of June I bought a cellphone at Mr Price Adderley street, Cape Town - Hisense U962 on my account. The service is always phenomenal at this Mr Price. However on the same day - I went to buy a glass screen guard to secure my phone, off I went. In mid-August the phone did not want to charge, (only 2 months old) and I took it on a Monday morning to Mr Price to have it fixed, I asked if I could get a replacement phone seeing that I have to wait up to +-3 weeks in order to get my phone. I was told that it was not possible. Well what could I do, no phone and I had no other alternative phone to use, unless I bought a cheap android for the time being. Anyways I decided not to. After waiting for a while I contacted Mr Price to ask when it would be ready for collection, I was told that it is couriered for the Wednesday, I decided to go the Saturday morning and there was nothing, I was still okay with it. I got a call the following week to say that unfortunately something went wrong with my phone they will replace it with the same brand a new one. I still did not mind but what about the screen guard, I have to buy a new one, no compensation by giving me a loan phone for the waiting time, wasted time and effort for the up and down. If the technical department could not fixed it in the first week, why didn't they replace it in the same week and please don't tell me that the technicians are busy - because then it means that the phones are worthless to buy at Mr Price seeing that a lot of people are sending their phones back to Mr Price because of the poor quality - hypothetically speaking.
The service in this department needs to get sorted and organized - so disappointed in waiting for so long for something that could've been resolved easily.
Now I am worried that the same thing will happen with this phone - then what do I do?

I have records of cancellation of my Mr Price home account in December 2017.

Till date Mr Price always sends me notices on default paying, since I have a sim card which on their website is a free service, thus a free account is accumulating monthly with an interest, EISH.

I had till date had various discussions with Mr Price, lodging disputes etc, its no response officially in a letter format.

I've been reasonable by paying the due amount on the settlement date to Mr Price, meaning, I went to the store, stating, kindly provide me of the outstanding amount due to you, to close my account.
This was provided, and I've settled. I have proof of this.
Is this reasonable in your opinion, or what more can one do?

Mr Price client center has records of discussions, however they explain to one please note this is recorded but they never use their own records, they are rather being Prejudice in this matter.

I further then contacted Mr Price, as per their records and I'm always being told we will get back to you, never happens.

It was then recorded that the Mr Price store in Vereeniging was in default by not sharing closure of the account, thus their administration difficulties results in penalising me, not going to happen.

Now, they threatening me with blacklisting etc, but they cannot explain the account, pathetic.

Thus, I have a account, no proof of the service, but there is proof of a account..what the hell..

Good Day, i was trying to locate a dusty pink trainer, i called the Mall of the South
her name was ihushe, so unhelpful, asked me to call back at 11am. the shoe person will assist me. why do you have people answering the call who are so incompetent.
Have to repeat numerous times, while you explaining put the phone down to go and check. Then comes to the phone has a long conversation, its impossible to get through to the store. the service really appalling. im a frequent shopper at your store and really
at the tills 3 people are chatting while they scan your items, they do not pay attention to you, they scan in items that are lying around from a previous shopper. this frustrates a shopper.they decide to sweep all the dirt onto you. if there is water on the floor its not wiped up, if the cleaner does come in then she has a long chat, disses the person thats messed, there is no customer service . your smart shop is operated like a shoprite at month end. no point paying an extravagant amount of rent when your shop at the mall of the south is in dissarry.
on a lighter note i spoke to kuben at headofice he located a pair of shoes, thank you to him well done. I spoke to xolis at the Glen had to repeat myself many times, will reserve a pair of shoe.We shall see.

Mr Price Group / MRP inappropriate music

Good day. On sunday morning my 11 year old daughter and myself visited your clothing store at Canal Walk .

We were purchasing some clothes for my daughter when a song came on that was full of profanity and sweating. The song was about a woman wanting to have sex with someone. Not only was the song inappropriate, but the "F" word was continually used throughout the song.

The song was played so loud I was sure that a staff member would realise the slip up and turn off the song. When I looked some were actually singing to the song!

Not only was I offended at the crudeness of the song, but my poor daughter was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed.

I would have walked out the shop but we had spent some time there and I was ready to pay. I complained to the cashier who really wasn't interested. I insisted on speaking to a manager and a young lady came to speak to me. I could actually feel her rolling her eyes. Not once did she apologies or even see what the issue was. I even pointed out that there are plenty of other kids in the store and she still was not phased. I could see I was wasting my time and we left the store.

My family and I have shopped at Mr P for decades and this incident has truly shocked me and upset me. What was supposed to be a fun shopping day with my daughter turned out to be an embarrassing and uncomfortable experience.

I have had the same experience in Botswana at there Airport Junction store, the sexual innuendos and perversion was distasteful, I trust this is not the new norm and these store are supposed to be family orientated clothing stores.

I proceeded to purchase 6 pillows believing like advertised its two for R110. Just to get to the till and be told the wrong pillows were put on display for that price and that I should pay full price(R660) or leave it.After explaining that its advertised for that no steps were taken to replace with correct pillows in the racks or remove the 2 for R110 signage.

Staff who was rude: Frank

I went to the till to pay for my shopping and put the basket on the counter. I received no warm welcome and I had taken a few items out to have the basket less full and then waited so the staff member could scan the items. I politely said, "Ok guess you can scan the rest in the basket, " meaning that he could remove the hangers and continue scanning. Instead he said to me (in one of the 9 languages) to "Empty the basket and he scans." Puzzled, as i am the customer, said "Why should i empty it?." And then he gave me horrible look and response and started speaking again (in another language) to his colleague talking about 'the problem.' I asked them both why they are speaking about me in another language in front of me at the cashier, I was given rude attitude, i even said, "there is no problem i just said why do i have to empty out the basket?" I asked Frank the rude staff to continue scanning and he said, "No" with attitude. After scanning, as I was walking away he rudely said, " Oh tell them (Mr.P group) I work at the cashiers". That is worst disgusting attitude and customer service, very unprofessional, childish with a gold tooth and rude. And for that I will never shop Mr. Price in Brooklyn Mall again and sad that you have staff who treat customers that way. Thank you.
