On 7/28/18 I checked in with my family to the Mountain Melodies Inn. Hallways, elevator and common areas of the hotel were dirty, in need of maintenance, and carpet replacement. Upon entering the room there was a disgusting smell that can not be described. Lights above the bathroom sink did not work, a family a spiders had taken over the balcony, the upstairs bedroom area was so hot you couldn't breath. I went to the front desk to ask for another room but none were available. I was told someone would spray something in the room while we went to eat. While waiting for assistance another guest came down to complain someone had been in his room and dumped his child's animal crackers all over the floor. We went to eat and look for another room but to no avail. Upon returning the smell was still in the room with no evidence of any one being there to rectify the problem. There was no phone in the room so the front desk could not be called. The furniture was dirty and in disrepair with no other alternative we wrapped up in our personal blankets and slept on top of their covers so we could try and rest for a few hours. In hind site sleeping in the car would have been better. There are numerous fire and health code violations represented in the attached pictures. It is a shame that this hotel has an occupancy permit praying on the numerous tourist that come through your city in search of clean and sanitary place to stay. I was told by the desk clerk that they had redone the lobby and they were getting money for other renovations in August. We left the hotel before 6 am and the night shift clerk couldn't have been less interested in the condition of the facility. We were charged 123.44 to stay in a hotel that was simply disgusting. We did use the room but feel there is no way we got our monies worth. We would like 1/2 of our money back and that still paying way to much for the room.

We arrived here on 8/30/19 to find out that they cancelled our reservation because my card was declined for a maintenance fee that says will be charged upon arrival and it was a few days before hand. After trying to figure out what we was going to do, my husband went ahead and paid for just that one night because it was late and my 3 year old daughter was restless from being in the car for 3 hours. Also she had to use the bathroom while my husband was trying to check in and the lady was ignoring all of us and turned her back to us so he had to lean around her and ask if they had a bathroom, she gave a dirty look and shook her head no. My daughter proceeds to keep telling me that she needs to potty and that she was going to pee on herself so the maintenance guy heard her and let her use their employee bathroom behind the front desk. He was the only nice person there. So we finally get up to the room and it’s so nasty I wouldn’t let my daughter touch anything so I just took pictures and went back to the front desk and the lady was immediately rude and they would NOT give a refund even after I showed her the pictures(attached below). There was blood on the bed hair in the beds a whole in the shower the curtains were barely hanging on the wall the floors were dirty the walls were dirty and there was bugs in the room. It’s all around the nastiest place I have ever been. This place needs to be shut down. I wouldn’t even use this building as a shelter for stray animals it’s so filthy.
