Mona Vale Fitness First - Sydney Australia review: enrolment

I was in Mona vale fitness first 2 days ago and Jac was serving me. He then got he's sales manager Jake to help as I was trying to explain I'm with flight centre and have a discounted rate. Jake told me that the best they could offer me and my spouse William Tams (already a member. Joined 28 days ago), was $35/fortnight each on a 12 month plan.

For me to join they offered 2 free personal training sessions and the first 4 weeks free. I was still hesitant because I originally came in thinking I could get a much cheaper deal. Then Jake said "okay, we can waive the joining fee".
I then called my spouse Will to get his thoughts and then Jake also spoke to Will on the phone stating again... $35/fornight each on a quote "11 month contract with first month free". We both said yes to this offer.

Then Jess (another sales consultant at fitness first) showed me the bathrooms and I had a chat her her and she gave me her mobile.

Later that afternoon/night, Jess said that Jake had made a mistake and they can't offer us that deal of $35/fornight each. They thought we were doing a 18 month contract.

This has not been a nice experience and has been upsetting and disappointing to be honest.

I want to know if someone with authority at fitness first can honour the original prices/deal we were offered?

Jake to sales manager from mona vale fitness first called me yesterday to advise he was sorry. He thought Will (my spouse) was on a 18 month contract, so that deal is only for an 18 month plan.
I reluctantly said okay put us both on 18 months then, as long as we can still get $35/fortnight each coming out of our joint account.
- still free jointing fee for me as promised
And the 4 weeks free with 2 free personal training sessions. As originally told. Only difference is its 18 months. He said he will sort it out.

I've just been in this morning to mona vale fitness first and been advised they can't honour the original deal. All they can now offer me is $39.60/for off and have to pay the joining fee which I was told would be waived originally. I still want $35/fortnight for William and $35/fortnight for me, with no joining fee and 4 weeks free as originally advised for 12 months.

I am so suprised at the conflicting statements and offers. We were offered a deal at the start for 'that day only' and I and Will said Yes to. This price should be honoured. That is the professional thing to do.

I've spoken to 4 people at the club and spent two days trying to join at the original offer.

I will be taking this further and to the ombudsman.
