Modern Beauty Salon Scam

Terrible experience at Modern beauty JE branch. First of all, is hard to get appointment. Called in to book appointment but each time it will be on waiting list. I asked the receptionist how long before will I get to know I've gotten the slot. The receptionist is very rude, rebut me saying"我又不是神,怎么知道顾客几时cancel appointment". When I finally gotten my appt on 13Sep, it started off quite pleasantly. The beautician say I will need IPL for my freckles and that she can use my 2 existing sessions to offset or pay $120 cash. I was then asked to sign the consent form to deduct my 2 sessions. Throughout the facial, the beautician keep persuading me to sign package, when I refused, she asked her manager in to hardsell. It was a good 30mins or more in the room listening to their hardselling. They quoted me $3200 for 10+10 sessions of IPL. I refused and told them I would like to clear off my existing packages which include aloe vera, triple action and R&F. In addition, I told the beautician is very hard to get appointment. Even if I sign package, I won't get to use them. Then she promised she can help me secure appointments for up to 3months since I'm her customer now. But what will happen after 3 months? The package has no validity. After 3 months, am I not their customer? Now it all turn ugly. The manager say it should be a deduction of 3 sessions instead of 2. They then showed me the consent form which I signed. I can clearly see the deduction is amended on their end with them writing over the signed consent form. I feel this is really a dishonest act. A verbal consent agreed on is also a consent. Should I know is a deduction of 3 sessions, I would not even want to try out IPL.

Modern Beauty Salon I'm forced to use 2 coupon for the same course all of a sudden!

I was told that I now need to use 2 coupons for 1 Bella Vita水光槍 treatment (not sure if the English name is correct). It's not justified!

Took me 3,000 each course years back...I wanted to have 100% refund b/c you could not provide the service in the regular shops. Going to the doctor is a lot of trouble. I have to take annual leave for each treatment.

I'm very unhappy with how you suddenly not able to offer the service, and then suddenly require me to pay 200% for the same treatment. This is unacceptable!

Modern Beauty Salon Unethical, service not rendered

❌🚨BEWARE of this BEAUTY SALON 🚨❌

A long read but will save your time🕐, money 💵, emotional heartache 💔and effort!

I have been their client for 6 or 7 years. From Modern Beauty to Place. C. I haven't been able to return for regular facials as my child had to study from home and my mom was sick but has since passed away recently.

When I went back in May, I found out that my package that I signed in Sep 2019, with 9 more facials is bound to expire by the end Aug2022. The company did not freeze my package during MCO and I have 3 and half months to complete all which I could, if I am given a slot every 10 days. But I was denied slots even though I tried to book more than a month in advance, giving them all my preferred dates.

Then, when I called them up to check, they said they would try their best to slot me in. I found that they are just lies! When I just signed a package in the past, they could give me a slot every alternate week. But when I tried to finish off my package, they deliberately did not slot me in, and told me if you would like an extension, just sign a new package when I have 9 more facials to complete.

I asked if I was not given a slot, could you give me an extension, the outlet manager said I could ask management and gave me an email address to contact. I emailed but it was a non working email. Then I was given another, it was also a non working email address. Another excuse and more lies.. The manager said she will try to ask, but I found that I could not reach anyone beyond her. She is like the only one in control, arranging the slots and also determining who you can talk to. Maybe it's the company modus operandi as well.

It is so tiring to keep calling them, it's like you are at their mercy. But to no avail. They are trying very hard to force me to sign a new package to not forgo the rest or let you burn the remaining facials that you have bought. With this kind of experience, I would rather not deal with them anymore. And share my experience with others..

No doubt, I feel angry, sad, cheated, disappointed and frustrated. Even though I moved to a new place that requires me to travel further, I still signed a new package back in 2019 because I prefer and like this beautician there. In the end, she even didn't complete my facial treatment with shoulder massage the last time I went and lied that after MCO, all massages had been discontinued. I found out the lie because the manager replied through their FB page that all packages still include shoulder massages.

I hope this written experience, two reviews on their FB and from many others at defaulters, will help people decide whether to sign any packages with them.

There are many other places, where they freeze your package, allow others to share, some do not even have an expiry date and most importantly do not have this unethical approach towards customers. Others will try their best to give you a slot or help you finish off your package.

Anyone may have my permission to share my experience to others!

Modern Beauty Salon How to get my refund back?

Hi May I know how to get my money back for those facial treatment hvnt done yet in Modern Beauty.
The new management at Boulevard Mid Valley City, Palace.C said my account is not active and said I never purchase packages from them. They ask me to email to Modern Beauty in HK.

Anyone have the contact in Modern Beauty in Hong Kong?

Modern Beauty Salon Service

Their service is not good and unethical. They always change their promotion every month for marketing purpose on renewal of package. Likewise they will encourage you to try other facial and ask you to sign a package on that. Some therapist can be good but other staffs or some therapist can be very pushy on sales. Also their bookings for facial are always not available.

I have been with them for quite a number of years and I'm glad I have finished my package with them lately. Somehow I feel they intentionally deduct all of my sessions for top up service so they can ask for new renewal. Also they did not do any extractions and their reason is due to covid.

To everyone, please do not sign their package again. If you have any left, quickly finish them /bring your friends along and find a new place.

Modern Beauty Salon Cause scars on my skin

Ladies, pls beware of Modern Beauty and do not sign any package with them! They assigned an old beautician to do my facial and my skin became worse with 2 scar marks now. Initially my skin was clear and I simply want to do a maintenance facial. In the end, it left scar marks on my face after the treatment in Oct 2019 ! The very next day I called modern beauty and the branch manager in charge ask me to go down and let her have a look. In the end she told me the office will handle my case. The CS Yiping and the modern beauty management didn't offer to compensate me for the damage done to me. And made me waited for more than 6 months, Yiping said she will check with the management every time but till now there is no resolution!
Pls DO NOT ever sign any package with Modern Beauty! It's a lousy company with irresponsible management team! Such a company will collapse soon! There are a lot more beauty salons around offering better facial services!

Do not fall into the trick of modern beauty staff, they treat u well when wanting u to sign the package but give u lousy service after that... BEWARE of Modern Beauty! Lousy company and management!

Modern Beauty Salon poor service attitude and management by branch manager, tli jie

I visited Modern Beauty salon located at Blk 201 Hougang Street 21 on 8 December 2019 for my facial appointment at 1.30pm. My client no. is 57620.

I have been a long term customer with the salon for about 7 years. And I have taken up quite a number of various facial and slimming packages. Having said this, which means I have also experienced many times the hard sell tactics by beauticians and branch managers. As I always like to stick to use my existing facial package, I would tell upfront to the beautician, since I know the beautician and the branch manager would relentlessly persuade me to try and then buy other types of facial packages, claiming that it would suit my skin, etc...

However, the visit to the salon at Hougang branch on 9 December 2019 really angered and disappointed me. Before the facial started, the branch manager, Tli Jie, came to check on my face and persistently asked me to try other type of facial, despite my decision to use my existing package. I eventually agreed as I did not want to waste my facial time on communicating with her further. But I made myself clear to her that I would not want to take up any other package for the time being. Upon hearing me, she sounded unfriendly and then left the facial room before the beautician cleaned my face. I could then hear the branch manager talking outside the room with her other co-worker that she seemed like talking rubbish to someone. She sounded unpleased. It was very rude of her to talk in such a way.

After my facial session was about to end, the branch manager, Tli Jie, walked into my room again. She still continued to ask me to buy new package. I politely rejected. She then still pestered me with hard and pushy selling tactics. Which I had to pay a sum of money, etc... As I had repeatedly told her my intention not to take up new package since I hardly have time to use my existing package, I was getting annoyed with her continuous hard selling and wasting my time. She also told me that if I buy package from her branch, I would get priority when it comes to appointment booking. This is [censored]. I retorted the fact that online facial appointment booking did not need her branch's manual intervention to prioritize any customer. I then asked her to provide me with an updated summary of my existing package. She told me to ask from the reception counter. At the end, she sounded unhappy and hastily left my facial room since she knew I would not buy any new package.

When I went to the reception counter to ask for a printed updated summary, the female receptionist told me the printer was faulty. I asked her to write down on paper since she could see from her computer screen and it was only a short summary. Guess what? She gave me the look of impossible to write me a mere short summary of my package. Instead, she asked me to visit another day to get a printed summary. I was getting disappointed and I told her I had the right to know my package right then. I asked for the branch manager, Tli Jie, to come to the reception counter and complaint to her what I experienced with the receptionist. Instead of hearing me, the branch manager rudely confronted me. We then argued and I told her she failed to train her receptionist well. As a front desk receptionist, people-orientated is the foremost quality to possess. Neither the branch manager nor the receptionist felt apologetic. At the end, I asked the branch manager whether she ought to owe me an apology, only then she apologized insincerely and walked away, leaving me feeling angry and disappointed. I wondered how she could become a branch manager when she herself has bad attitude and poor service quality.

I really would like Modern Beauty salon management to take serious review and action on the poor quality of their employees' service. There have been a lot of negative comments seen online on Modern Beauty salon over the years and such negativity still has not improved. I personally do not enjoy going for facial or slimming sessions with Modern Beauty anymore after this unhappy incident at Hougang branch. I would not recommend to my family and friends too.

I agreed to all the complaints review about this beauty spa.
When i go down to do my massage, they never fail to promote their package every of my visit.
Their tactic is, they will ask me to try new massage. They will do the massage very well and after that they will ask me to sign the package. If I said that Idon't have so much money, then they will suggest to deduct from my existing package and top up with cash.
In my opinion, their aim is to promote their packages and not to provide good service to keep their customers.
Very difficult to get a slot and i still have many unused. How to get refund from them?
I will never recommend anyone to Modern Beauty and Giman.
My advise to them, there are so many spa up there, please be ethical and professional in your services.

Modern Beauty Salon very difficult to book an appointment

I cant get the appointment to fix for at least 3-4 months. This are second times that I cant book an appointment since Aug'19 till Nov'19.
I have given dates immediate when I finished the facial cum massage in paper for their ref. because when i called salon before month end (calendar not open for booking and i called 1st day of the month and was told that calendar was full)
If there cant take the booking for massage then why they asked me bought a 20 session?
p.s. i given the ample time schedule for booking (Mon-Thur, 6 to 7 pm) and Salon cant fix accordingly and every called just fix for the facial only?
The consultant don't understand customer's need and requirement and asking every round to purchase their products...

Yes terrible service and hard selling, very hard up staffs. The many complains here is what i also encounter. Never will i continue after my package ends. Worse beauty salon i ever encounter!

I have the same experience, I made appointment request one month in advance, and called almost every week, i was allocated 2 appointments in 3 months, when the staff tried to sell me more packages, i told her that i have not been able to use the packages i purchased 7 years ago, she said you are lucky you got an appointment a month!

I have requested for refund, but customer service said the company rejected my request, I stated my case, she agreed to appeal for me, but on the same phone call she told me that the company will never agree to refund.

There are so many similar complaints, we should all start to complain to the company or bring the issue to the attention of CASE.

Very normal nowadays. I even received comments from their customer service staff :又不是我进的appointment. 你跟我complained 没又用. This was after I called them ample times to remind them abt my appointment. Hello...you represent your company. How could you tell this to customers?

Modern Beauty Salon facial service bad

今天18/10/19我appoinment了洗脸。我本人非常的生气因为我一路来都很满意他们的服务所以才会签了几次的package.只从换了公司名字(palace)以前的员工也不在了。服务很差。洗脸的手势很大力。弄到我很痛。然后今天我用的那家machine整个人好像被电到这样。我告诉她们我很怕不敢用。她们就一句说是这样的又说我的脸流逝胶原所以才会感觉这样。拜托如果用到会被电到。那请问你还会去用吗?然后她们有和我说这个package我在很久已经sign了如果要换就要加钱。大致上每次来她们都会说有新的promotion很值得的叫我加一点钱去买。今天的facial只是很普通就做好。我给了那么多次的钱。到头来是这样服务。我非常不满意palace员工的服务
真的要吐口水。

Modern Beauty Salon unethical behaviour, very dirty and sneaky - quietly change customer profile to reduce types of services

Beware ladies...Modern Beauty@Mid Valley KL has just changed their name to "Palace Beauty" to continue their cheating games! They are now situated on 1st floor(on top of New York Skin). The dirty con Manager Gigi still sitting there to change Customer Profile anytime(customers who scolded her for cheating), and to sweet talk new customer meanwhile only allow old customer with package expiring soon to do service only once a month(they will always claim "fully booked"). You can only have your package be extended unless you buy more from them on the same package. Ladies do not go there no matter how. Please help to spread this message around to avoid more victims being cheated by Palace Beauty(Modern Beauty)!

Modern Beauty Salon complaint against service provider qen qen

I have facial appointment on 17/9/19.
1) However, on this day I was having gastric pain and tried to cancel my appointment but was told that even though I cannot turn up, an amount will be deducted from my account. As such, even with the discomfort, I went.
2) I was attended by the above Service Provider Qen Qen and she was very rough causing a small scar on my forehead near my eyebrow. She did not apologise.
3) She also kept leaving the room mid way the facial, leaving me waiting. The 1 1/2 hour facial is like half an hour spent on waiting.
4) Mid way through the treatment, she mentioned that if she has the time she will do another body treatment which I did not response. After putting on the mask, she said she will deduct either one of the two treatment for this body treatment which I said was very expensive. She said she will choose the cheaper one to deduct. When done, at the service counter, she asked me to purchase the package ($600 for 10) but I said I am retired and have no money. Then she choose the item that is valued at $190 to deduct from my account for a $60 item.

I strongly think that Giman Modern Beauty Salon services has dropped tremendously. The service provider on longer analyse our skin and see what treatment is suitable for us. Now, their vision and mission is more on recommending the most expensive packages so that the service provider can get more commission and benefit from it. Each trip there is now unpleasant as we have to face aggressive service provider trying to dig their 'gold' and always end up unhappy and not satisfied. If I can, I would like to cash back all my packages and not have any more facial with this company, each trip is a force buy.

Hi SF, I understand how you feel. Giman Modern Beauty(previously called Modern Beauty) is actually same as Modern Beauty@Mid Valley KL(name just changed to Palace Beauty). They are all reporting to Hong Kong HQ. Please stop going to this place and let your friends know it is a Scam! Make sure you get your summary report printed each time at the end of your facial. They may edit your type /number of services in your profile when they dislike you(can't afford to buy more). So be careful...I experienced it last month when I was told their beauty salon got new boss with new policy!

Modern Beauty Salon poor customer services

I was called for more than 10 times to the Jurong East outlet after I saw the fave promotion. However, the calls is always not been picked up. I tried it at the next day also, and after few trying, finally someone picked up. But, she told me that she do not know everything about the facial packages and asked me to call other outlets for enquiry Besides, when I asked how can I make appointments since there is always no one picking up the phone. Her response is this is normal circumstances and told me that she need to put down the phone to serve her customer even our conversation no more than 5mins. What is this kind of customer service?! If you are not going to serve your customers, please to not put up the promotion to mislead customers and waste our time. Our time and money is as precious as yours!

I have been a client of Modern Beauty Salon since 2007 and had visited 6 of their branches, 3 of which have since moved locations.
Over the years, I have been serviced by various beauticians & masseuse. Whenever I have a new staff attending to me, I will feedback if I am not satisfied with her services Or her attitude.
Over the 14 years, there were a few staff whom I found unsatisfactory but these staff have mostly left Modern.
When there are really good promotions, the staff will inform me and highlight the big savings. There was no pressure, only more benefits added to make the promo even more attractive. For promotions which I consider really worth the value, I would sign new packages.
There was a period of time when the Jurong East branch had problem getting a receptionist who could do the work properly and stay put, hence there was much frustrations when calls when unanswered. The poor beauticians & masseuse had to double up as receptionist during those times. The management has to answer for that.
Over the past few years, I have found a number of beauticians and masseuse at Jurong East & Somerset branches whose services I am happy with. There were some who had left Singapore while a handful had changed profession. As with any job, people change jobs for a variety of reasons. I now have 4 beauticians and 2 masseuse whose services I am pleased with (at Jurong East & Somerset).

Modern Beauty Salon complain everything

After payment done, no slots to book, always say full full, staff on mc. Will call back but never call. Attend meeting. All you people republic of china go back to your own country. Dunno english but so daring to work in singapore. No service. Feedback page always tick excellent without asking customer. Then like this you are cheating people. No hygiene, no proper preparations, no english speaking. I am going to make. Polic report to refund me money

Modern Beauty Salon unable to book for any massage slot at any of the branch

Whenever you call them to book for a slot, there is always no slot. They will ask you to book for the service at larger branch which also replied that they are full even for advance booking. Then when you manage to get a slot for massage, they will ask you whether do you want to try their new machine and pushing you to buy the package. I really hope that there is some way to ask for a refund.

要过年开开心心去美容院洗脸 ,反而恐吓要报警 ! 在美容院千万不要sign package

video : 我和另外一名受害者(fb 认识的) 去这家modern beauty salon midvally 拿summary statement, 我们等了一个钟头 ,最后manager GIGI 恐吓我们要报警, 说这边不是modern beauty salon, 她们换了老板 ,换了palace C 和老板不给booking洗脸 (招牌还是modern beauty ) 我要看ssm 也不给看 ! 不同名字招牌可以做生意?

(我们录影是因为fb 说她们的manager GIGI 会骂人 ,所以保护自己 ,全程我们录音和录影,我们好好讲的 )

事情是这样的
我在这家modern beauty salon midvally,他们是香港明星上市洗脸公司 , 前前后后签了 package 60 -70次 在这几年内 。

我在11月 去洗脸 ,美容师叫我upgrade package 加多rm2000, 因为还有剩下20 次 ,我拒绝了 。

去年12月 ,她们打来说要洗脸吗 ? 我去了 ,她们还是不停讲叫我upgrade rm2000, 我打算不要再签了 ,过后发现帮我擦脸toner 臭了 !我问她们 ,她们说是这样的味道 ! 过后她们和我所剩下 14次(明明还有18次 )expiry 了 (以前说没有expiry 的所以我才签 ) 过后我要那statement ,她们说电脑upgrade 没有 !然后他们又说好啦 再extend 半年给你 (expiry 五月)

过后我上goggle check了 这家公司complain多到吓死人!

我和另外一个受害者去拿statement 要complaint, 因为怕她们说我们去捣乱 ,我们录音了 (因为看到fb 很多人投诉说这个manager GIGi 会骂人 )

去到我们好好和她们说没有吵,vicky 和GIGi 拖了我们一个钟

最后manager gigi 还 要报警 ,抓我们 !

(录音是因为fb太多人说她们会骂人,所以我们没有和她们吵。一直好好讲的 ,她们太嚣张了 )

Modern Beauty Salon manager bella and micro bubble revitalizing treatment

On 19/10/2018 the manager/beautician Bella recommended micro bubled revitalizing treatment and after that treatment also remove oil spots 点油泡 for me. After she finished 点油泡, she gave me a mirror to look at the result of the treatment as they normally do. I was shocked to see the capillaries at both sides of my nose were very large with big red patches around it. I asked her to stop whatever she was doing immediately. I told her I have never seen such red patches and so much capillaries on my face before until after her treatments today. Instead of admitting her fault, she defended herself by lying that my face was already like that when I walked into the saloon. If what she said was true, she would have and should have mentioned it before she started the treatment, she should not have recommended the treatment which emitted heat/warm sensation on my face. She should also stop any further treatment when she saw the red patches and capillaries. After one day, the redness and capillaries are still very visible. The saloon should employ more professional and ethical beauticians.

Modern Beauty Salon cheating/scam/lies

I am a victim of Modern Beauty/Giman Beauty & Wellness/Be Sanctuary Spa too!

I would like to caution all my fellow sisters of their cheating tactics. You all must always take note of the packages you have with them. Cos they will bluff you there is little left to trick you to buy.

When I went for a facial recently, they told me my facial balance was low and got me to buy, which I did. But when the customers statement was printed to me, it stated I have more than 40 facials?! Which means they tricked me into buying!

When I asked them about this but they ignored me totally.

I have since consulted my lawyer, who told me to lodge a police report as this amount to cheating. As I read all the threads here, I am also so angry that they have conned so many people as well! and for so many years! So, my fellow sisters, I appeal to all of you to do similar. Go to the police or CASE or Small Claims Tribunals and report about them!

We shouldn't let them off scot-free!

I have the same experience but I found out many years ago already. Some dishonest managers will tell you that you have little courses left. Then you found out later after the purchase you actually got a lot more. They told me it was because the courses were put under different groups. So I tried to keep track of what I have but it is not easy as they never give you a receipt after each treatment or a summary of what you have. Everything is kept in their computer!

Modern Beauty Salon can't get spots even after making paper booking 1 month in advance.

Hi,

I am very very disappointed with Modern Beauty after all these years.

I am a long time customer since 20yrs ago but I can see your booking system is getting from bad to worse! Lack of staff each time for massage and giving excuses...

It is very tiring for customer to call each month to ask for slots even after they put in request on paper for advance (1mth) for facial/massage bookings.

The management should look into deploying staff to Royal Brothers branch if they are short of staff and not just let customer wait and call them up for slots each month.

I have diligently submit my bookings on paper each month (1 mth in advance but always can't get my Friday slots. This is getting very annoying and tiring for me. I am really considering giving up to use your services in future after I finish my packages there!

This month (Aug), I still have not get any slots for massage even though I made advance booking (1 mth ago in early July or end June) on paper. I have to use the online booking to book my facial for 3 Aug (Fri), facial not done properly, I requested to redo on Sunday, I have requested to cancel the facial on 3 Aug in the system. Not sure if they have done so?!

I have the same experience in terms of making body massage n foot reflexology treatment. I can never ever been able to book for a slot even at the beginning of the month. They have very bad booking system. We are unable to book for the following month, we can only book current month even if I am to make the booking on 31st of the month, they are still unable to book the following month. Atrocious. I am still stuck with 13 foot reflexology sessions.

I heard from one staff at Modern Beauty that the managers have requested the company to cut the slots for online booking. The reason is so that the customers will need to rely on the managers to help with making the bookings. There is this thing at Modern Beauty that the managers will only make bookings with you, if you buy courses from them. Otherwise, no one will help you to make bookings. You can forever call & there is no time for you!

Only facial slots can be booked online. Massage slots can't book online. They kept asking customers to sign packages but can't fulfilled the requested booking slots. Each visit, they will try to sell you things and introduce "new" treatments. I told them off. Can't give me massage slots still dare to sell you new packages! I hope more people will complain online and made it public and shame them!

Modern Beauty Salon service

I do not understand if your staff called for a last minute slot for me the day before and when I wasn't feeling well in the morning. I called to cancel and I was being cancel one box of facial. I do not understand this logic if a customer is not feeling well on that day I have to sacrifice a box of facial as I couldn't come?

If I book the appointment 1 mth before and I cancel I can understand. The slot was given to me a day before last minute and now I'm not well I'm being force to come if not they minus one of my box. This is ridiculous right?
