Milan Airport MXL MALPENSA / airport service Delta

My husband got there one hour before the airplane to leave and they didn't let him to check in for Delta. The person at the desk told him that they make exceptions, but not today. They charged him 250 per person for the next day flight, so for him and one of my daughter went up to 500 extra. We went in April, when the tickets were cheaper, but at the end we paid the summer value. When I checked in the next day I asked a sticker for fragile, she said she doesn't have one and anyway they do not promise about something to break. In one of my bag some things did break.
After I asked for a name tag for one of my cary-bag, she said she doesn't have, but after looking better she find them. I do not understand how they sit down to there desk unprepared. For sure we do not flight any more in Italy, Milan or with Delta, any more.
I prefer the Swiss company and Zurich service was so warm! In the plan I met a Swiss woman, whom was late for the flight, but they let her to come back for the next day flight for not extra charge. There service not like in the Milan, Italy!
