Midas false advertising : midas langhorne, 2290 east lincoln highway, langhorne, pa 19047

DOS: 8/3/17
Invoice #: 0209001
Reason for complaint: Obtained a PA STATE INSPECTION TEST & EMISSIONS TEST. Midas Langhorne charged for the windshield inspection stickers upon passing the inspection; safety $6.18 & emissions $1.65. The internet coupon clearly stated that stickers were included in the $39.99, price. I discussed this with Michelle, my service writer who informed me that they have always charged for inspection stickers. I would like a refund of $7.83, what I paid for the windshield stickers. Also, Midas Langhorne needs to change their coupon wording if they are charging for stickers. The following is a copy and paste of the internet coupon:

$39.99 STATE INSPECTION TEST & EMISSIONS TEST
Pass or Fail
Service includes an inspection of each vehicle system required by state law, plus sticker/documentation for sticker if vehicle passed inspection. Most vehicles. Not valid with other offers. Valid at participating location(s). No cash value. Disposal fees extra, if required and where permitted. Shop fee of up to 15% based on non-discounted regular retail price, not to exceed $35.00, if required and where permitted. Fees may be higher in HI/AK. If repairs or other services are needed, cost is extra.

Midas repair turned to hell

I get mistakes are going to happen, but after spending 1800 dollars on an altinator and serpentine belt repair when I ended up finding out you charged me 1200 dollars for a 399 dollar part and didn't even do the job correctly, that is a scam. I had to redo all the work Midas has done because they missed chunks of belt behind a crankshaft seal and caused a major leak immediately after. The leak then soaked the belt that was JUST replaced and I had to redo everything and MORE. Another 1400 dollars down the drain because Midas decided it was a great idea to work on BMW. Stay away from there! Rick, the clown I talked to offered zero assistance. I will be asking a friend to write an article up on what happened in a newspaper for the city of Syracuse, NY.

Midas auto repair

On 6/23/17 I took my car into the Wind Gap PA Midas for an oil change. After the oil change they told me they spotted some problems with my car. The first was the oil pan was leaking and it would cost over $600 to repair. The other was an engine mount was broken and useless and would cost almost $400 to repair.

The engine mount sounded more serious but if it was useless and if every time I accelerated my engine would rock back, wouldn't I feel or hear something? I never felt or heard anything to indicate there might be that kind of problem. Upon leaving Midas, I took my car to another shop up the street. They said there was a minor crack in the rubber and very minor movement in the mount but that it was still fine for quite a while and I might not ever need to replace it. They showed me what I'd see on my engine and inside of the hood if the engine was rocking back and forth.

They asked me if it was Midas who'd told me I had these problems. I answered yes. He told me that they get about 3 customers a week that come from Midas claiming the mount needed to be replaced after customers had taken their cars in for an oil change with a coupon and almost never did the mount need to be replaced. They also told me there was no problem with my oil pan. He told me they have to do this because they have to meet numbers or lose their franchise. This is no excuse for such fraud. And yes, this is fraud. Midas did try to scare me saying every time I accelerate my engine would rock back and that the mount was useless. If it was so useless, why wasn't my engine rocking back as they said?

Never go to the Midas in Wind Gap PA. Thieves.

Midas customer service

I am filing a complaint on this location. I have been attending Midas for a couple years for oil changes and never had an issue. I called as asked VERY nicely for an appointment for 5pm for an oil change, or even 430 as I get off work in the next town at 4. Your office clearly states open until 530pm your gentleman John was extremely rude he said that these times were too late. He than offered me a Monday evening appointment and I said please put me in if I cannot find a change sooner, he said he refused to book me because all appointments have to be serious appointments only, when I had asked about weekend hours he laughed and said we are not open weekends and said literally "you know what you want a weekend appointment you can go to Oil Changers"I went to go talk and he hung up the phone. I wish this was a joke but I have NEVER received this rude treatment prior and because of it I will take my husband and I business elsewhere. This was so inappropriate I could understand if I was being rude but he wouldn't even allow me to have the Monday afternoon appointment this has been the worst customer service I have ever received. I am so mad about this that I had been loyal to this location for so many years to be treated like this. Bad day or not you don't treat your customers like this. I hope this is dealt with accordingly. I will be posting an online review and making sure I spread the word of the poor service I had encountered.

Midas service given for "track on/abs" signal on front panel of toyota sienna and wrong charges

I am living in fremont, CA and getting service from Midas from almost last 5 years on my Totota Siena 2008.

On 7/2/2017 I show ABS and Trac lights (Signal) on front panel and took it on 7/3/2017 for diagnostics at "4045 Thorton Ava, Fremont, CA - 94536".

Bob (owner) of Midas recommended the inspection. I gave my car and after sometime I got call from alac (Midas) saying that I need to change my front right side as well back left side bearings to solve the problem.

They changed the bearings but the problem stayed as it is. I paid $997.82 for it. When I told that about the problem, midas said it is required to change the ABS sensor as same sensor causing all indications on panel.

Midas changed the sensor and charged me almost $290 for this work but problem did not go away.

I still have the same indicator (ABS/Track on) and not Midas is asking to change something and I can clearly see that they don't know where the problem is and keep doing random service and robbing the money from me.

When I checked what they replaced, the cost of part [protected]) is $56 where as I am charged for 347.99. same thing for back side bearing. So even part are also incorrectly charged.

When showed them, they are talking very rudely and not showing up anymore to the shop. I am robbed and I need serious help.

I will go to toyota and consumer protection court.

Midas scam

My wife took our 2016 Chrysler 300 in for a state inspection. The individual was very rude to my wife and told her he would not inspect it as the tires were bald with no tread. He asked her who was hot rodding her car. He then attempted to sell her a new set. My wife new better and chose to leave the shop immediately. She went another inspection station and was told the tires were fine and received a two year inspection sticker. It's a shame Midas is associated with individuals that would make an effort to take advantage of female senior citizens. This shop is located at 212 Sam Houston Jones Parkway. Lake Charles, LA 70611 Talking to some neighbors in our community I understand this is a common practice at this location.

Midas didn't fix my original problem

Took my car in not even a week later my check engine is back on tookit back up to y'all after paying 500.00 dollars the man tells me they don't have the equipment to diagnose it!?!
I told them I smell burning and he tell me I have a oil leak I told him my car didn't have an oil leak when I brought it here. The guy Renee says it's ben leaking for a while?! Like Why didn't you tell me when I was there 5 days ago than? Than Larry said I needed new belts again was never informed. But why make someone pay 500 dollars, and not fix the problem that is theft of services or also making customers pay and Midas is breaking items for customers to come back. Also I went to the Facebook page and left a comment about how they broke my grill to my hood . One of your guys said it's an old car they break like wtf not after paying 500 dollars and you told me 5 days ago the car was fixed no lights. When really they didn't fix the true underlying issues

Midas break repair and customer service

This is the last time we will have our vehicles serviced by Midas. EVER. The most disrespectful and disgusted we've ever been. Are your employees allowed to drink on the job? And make sexual jokes at work with clients in the waiting room? One of your associates told us he was drinking milk because he was so drunk from the night before. One of the managers, older, bulkier, guy was staring my girlfriend up and down as if he was a puppy wanting to hump his owners leg. So disgusted and disrespected. Call me if you'd like to TRY and make up for this. [protected]. We even got your credit card because it's a win win for everyone. Today you lost two customers for life. And you're damn straight we're going to steer family and friends away from your business.

Midas so hot in the midas facility

The waiting area at the Midas in Bridgeville, PA was SO HOT - I was waiting for my vehicle for several hours and it was unbearable. The management actually took the one fan from the garage area and brought it into the waiting area to cool off customers, leaving the workers with no fan at all.

This facility needs updated a/c units and it needs more fans for the workers in the garage area.

My date of service was 6/22/17 and I was there from 12:15 pm until 2.:52 pm.

I dealt with Tommy and Chris in your facility. Their phone is [protected].

Thanks

Midas car damage

My car was towed to a Midas store located at 5289 old national Highway, college Park GA 30349 on 5/29/17. Someone broke the lock off the passenger door while the car was in their possession. The store manager (Robert) acknowledges that they have had cars broken into but they aren't liable if it happens after business hours. It would be great if this could posted up on their property, “Beware, cars are known to be broken into after hours. " I’m waiting to see what kind of response I will get from corporate office.

Midas ring and bearing

Midas rustenburg. 27 april 2017 I placed an order at midas rustenburg and I was assured that I will receive my order on saturday 29 april 2017. Upon my arrival I was seen by an indian lady who said my order was not there because of the holiday that was on the 28th of april 2017. She handled the whole situation as if I am the one who is inconsiderate. Please bear in mind that there are cost implications involved. I had an appointment with my mechanic. She did not even put any effort to atleast take my details and contact me when the parts have arrived. Why did she even not feel the need to make the whole situation better. Thats arrogance at its best level.

Midas Diagnosing an issue

So I went to the Midas in Lewis center, Ohio because my 4w wheel drive low did not work. I drive a 1997 Jeep Wrangler (standard trans) and I wanna off road it. Told them it popped out of 4L (4H worked perfectly).. they looked at it for 30 mins and said I needed a new tcase ($1149 quote). I asked if it was linkage as I had gotten under it and noticed how all the linkage joints were pulled at angles. The jeep has a lift so if a previous owner didn't extend the linkage it makes sense the lever that goes into the tcase wouldn't be able to go all the way back and fully engage. They said they removed the linkage and it still wouldn't engage 4L. I was very skeptical so I asked my neighbor who is a mechanic (he specializes in suspension and steering) if he would look at it. He agreed with me instantly. We put a new linkage rod in ($30 rod, took maybe 90 mins) and it completely fixed the issue. I am irate with Midas and plan to contact some higher ups in the company because not only did they 'misdiagnose' an issue by $1000 (they could have done it for $150 max in parts + labor) but they straight up lied to me. Either they didn't disconnect the linkage or they did and realized that it was the issue and didn't tell me. I get that they have quotas they have to meet but straight up lying to a potential customer is not only unethical, I'm not sure on the legality? I suppose there's plausible deniability but if they argue that, it just means they're incompetent.. either way I'm pissed and telling everyone about this situation so they don't get screwed too.. Lesson: ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION!

Midas issues after replacing break pads and rotors

I went to Midas, East Windsor, NJ on November 19th/2016 after hearing noice while applying break.
As per the suggestion of the staff I replaced the break pads and rotors, but after two weeks I started getting the noice again.
I want to the same center at least 3 times but they did not do anything to fix the issue. Instead the service person started saying to replace other parts to fix the issue.
I went to a Nissan service center and they have fixed the issue.
The problem was that the parts that midas replaced was substandard/incompatible.
I want the amount that I spent on Midas to be refunded.

Midas replacing good parts

On the date of 6/30/16 I entered with my camper to Midas shop in 8100 Old Seward Hwy Anchorage AK 99518 and told the receptionist that my campers Air Bag Suspension is losing pressure over night instead of 3-4 days as usual.
A mechanic took the truck to be checked and after about 30 minutes he came back to the reception and said that he found quite a big air leak.
I and the receptionist went to see the leak and I did see some bubbles coming from a part of the system, Air Ride Level Valve. The bill to replace the part is $354.45. I left and drove away about 100 miles where I stopped in a campground for overnight break.
After about 2 hours I checked the system by turning the switch key ON and the compressor that supplies pressure to the system started running. I knew right away that I have still the same problem and indeed in the morning the whole system was empty of air pressure.
At this point I want to emphasize that this problem started about 6 weeks ago and during this time the system was checked for leaks, by myself and other mechanics, several times and beside one minor leak, no more leaks were found since then.
The big leak found by the Midas’s mechanic that day, should have ”turn on a red light” in my mind since it was in a lighted and easy to access location and it should have been detected before, but it did not.
The spite the 100 miles, I have decided to drive back to the shop. A mechanic took the truck for a checkup and, after about 40 minutes this time he came back and said that he found another leak, but smaller than the one before. And indeed I saw small bubbles and again in a very lighted and easy to access location which of course was checked before. The shop manager Mr. Glenn Madlock, without mentioning the first job, said that this repair will cost me another $150.
This time I left, stopped in a parking lot and checked out myself the new leak with two solutions usually used by mechanics to check leaks; water with liquid dish soap and Windex. There was no leak from the new place!
I drove to a place that specializes in installing Air Bag Suspension in trucks and one of them checked out a few places including the “new leak” and he didn’t find any leaks. I went to 2 more places but they already were closed for the 4th of July weekend.
Next day, Saturday morning, I came back to the shop and asked to speak with the manager in private. In his office I told him, in other words, that I believe that he fabricated the whole “bubbles” thing just to rip me off, since he believed that I won’t come back.
He didn’t even tried to defend himself or justify his actions and said nothing when I told him there was no new leak for what he asked another $150.
After refusing to fully refund the $354.45 paid, I told him that I intend to sue him in court. His reaction was “find yourself a good lawyer”.
The fact that there was no change in the first problem and no leak was found the second time emphasizes the work ethics of this Midas shop and his manager and justifies my demand for a full refund and any other expenses I had or should have as a result of his actions and refusal for a full refund.

Midas brakes

I have a 2011 Ford F150 with 72k. The brakes just started squeaking when I back up, but not when I am going forward. So it took it to Midas at

Alpharetta
224 North Main Street
Alpharetta, GA 30009
[protected]

I visually inspected the rotors, to check for any grooving or excesive wear. They looked smooth with minimal wear. I dropped it off and a few hours later the service guy called and said the rotors were out of spec and I needed new pads. He said the total would be $908. I laughed and told him to put my tires back on and I would pick my truck up. I guess they thought I had sucker written on my head. I took it to Scotts Auto Repair in Cumming GA, voted best in Forsyth for 2015 and 2016. They checked my truck and said the rotors were well within spec and just needed turned and new pads. All total was less than $300. Beware of Midas, they will try to rip you off!

Midas consultation of services

I visited today 03/18/16 with my 2006 Volvo S40 about the same issue. I have been having for the past 6 months. Over the past 6-8 months that I have been doing business with this location I have been insulted by one Caucasian manager who worked at the location in 2015. As well as 5'9FT 180lbs African American mechanic. I have been directed to the same mechanic each time for him to pass me off to the manager verbalizing he didn't have time for me, (A CUSTOMER)! So with that declaration our family will take our vehicles to another PROFESSIONAL company that not only have the time but also cares about their and the safety of the owner. I was allowed to speak with the Regional or District Manager of this location where I informed him of my experience at the location. As we spoke he didn't maintain a disposition of how can I help you but rather a defensive disposition that he wouldn't help me if I continued to reference pictures I had to show physical proof of repairs to assist me in keeping personal records. His focus was not customer based but rather defensive stated that he would not deal with me if I was going to use threats. Another African American customer overheard the conversation and stated overload that he felt it seemed when ever an African American intelligently discussed their problems with a business with passion "we" are referred to as "threats". This is the environment/customer service Midas is allowing customers to be exposed to and leave with these thoughts. Those were his thoughts so I made a point to get his contact information as well.

Midas muffler, tail pipe, resonator

I went to Midas and had my muffler, tail pipe, and resonator. Total cost was $370.00. After one year and one month, the muffler was so cheap that it developed a huge rust hole. I called Midas and was told that the muffler was covered for life time replacement, but I would have to pay $98.00 for labor costs. I can purchase a better muffler online for $28.00. So where is the savings with the lifetime warranty? Midas is full of crap.

Midas Slow shipping process and some of the items were out of stock

I checked the website of Midas Resources and found rare stuff. I have placed the order and one week later I got the email that this stuff was out of stock, so I could get refund or buy something else. I decided to order something else and they asked for additional fee, and the agent added that it was for shipping. After a month I got the confirmation email that my order was finally shipped. They are too slow.
