I have been getting billed for charges from this merchant since September 2008, first on my credit cards then my personal bank account. I never authorized these charges nor did I order anything from this company. I am actively attampting to stop all future charges from this merchant through my credit card companies and my bank. These are unauthorized charges and they continue to show up on my statements every month. In fact twice in one month on one charge card. I have now been charged over the limit from my credit card company and over draft fee from my bank because of these charges. This company needs to be stopped.

On or about February 27, 2009, my computer crashed and I had to re-boot the entire hard drive. I lost all my software, including the Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student package that I had purchased from DRI Windows Marketplace on March 12, 2008. Unfortunately I am unable to find my receipt for this purchase, or the confirming email that shows the order number; but I do have the credit card statement that shows this purchase of $149.95. I have been trying to email the company from which I purchased the software, in order to try and gain access to my "digital locker". They have answered my emails a couple of times, but they indicate they have no record of my purchase, and are also very slow in getting back to me. Today (March 11, 2009) I contacted my credit card company to see if I could dispute the charge from a year ago, and they are working with me on this.

This is really aimed at the USA and Bill Gates in particular. For every one useful bit of info picked up, usually by accident, on the internet I have to plough through a manure heap of rubbish. It doesn't even work properly. An enquiry for 'Hyundai paint PN' gives me 'Sexy Black girl with big boobs, the Irish Parachute Club and Welcome to the city of Dallas' When I select UK only, I get pages of US websites including the Chicago film critics and auctioneers.com
How can this man 'earn' such obscene amounts of money for such a crappy product? Even it's biggest area of operations, Pornography, is so riddled with viruses it's only safe to use by the pervies who produce and download some of the most vile images on the planet! Even then it's only a few middle aged lonely men and the occassional couple of child abusers in the UK or USA who get caught. Never the 'big wheels' even in the USA. Too much profit to be had I suppose.

[protected] Caller said he was from Microsoft calling to fix error or virus on my computer (like that going to happen). Seems that this has been going on for awhile, please look into it. For the amount of time this scam has been running you should have the person by now. Tap the switch interchanges, when the number shows trace back to the sender. It would all be automatic and then you have the persons location. Every time this scammer makes a hit is because we have not caught them. Jump on this one and bust his chops.

I have contacted x-box 360 customer service now 5 times since the end of Oct 09. I have been trying to get a 3 pronged power cord sent to us. Every time I called back a service rep told me there was a problem processing the order and it will be 2-3 wks for delivery. The last 3 times I've called I have been transferred to a resolution specialist who cannot provide a resolution. They tell you the option is to place another order and wait another 2-3 wks. A specialty team was supposed to be looking into the processing problem and call within 3-5 days, never received the call. Last call I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told he was busy but would call me by 10 pm, guess what..no call received. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will not be purchasing microsoft products from now on, they are not worth the price you pay and the inconvenience.

Go to the feedback section of hotmail and complain. You'll find it on Options -> More Options -> and scroll down ( Hands up who's got a sore scroll finger )to the bottom of the page. Feedback is on the bottom right corner.

Advertising will kill this off.

Please, please, please can I have my old interface back? I'm sick of scrolling, sick of opening up e-mails that I don't want to open, sick of having to move my cursor to the scroll bar, sick of having to move my cursors around all over the window to find the borders of function boxes, and my eyes hurt through the lack of colour contrast. I couldn't log in earlier. I'm sick of all of this. Recommend to new users. Yeah sure I would, I'd recommend that they stay well clear of it. You gave me the choice to stay with my old interface at the beginning. I tried the new one and instantly didn't like it and decided that I liked the old one better. Now my feelings are growing stronger. I now, not only not like it, I hate it. I've sent an e-mail before. It it possible to have a reply, please? Screen resolution? Congratulations to the idiots who designed this. You're real good.

So I made the mistake of trying an Office 2007 trial version. I figured if I didn't like it--or more likely, didn't see enough of a benefit to fork over the dough--I could always go back to my 2003 version.

WRONG.

The 2007 version installed "over" the 2003, incorporating the earlier version into itself. Now that the trial period has ended, the computer's office products are largely frozen: I can access documents, for example, but I can't edit them or even cut and paste the data. I'm told that the only way to go back to the way things were is to uninstall 2007 and reinstall 2003. Simple enough, except that at some point in the intervening years I lost the 2003 disks and theProduct Code Number.

It seems to me that the world's most sophisticated software company should be able to tell that I have a legitimately installed 2003 system below my now-frozen 2007 system. It seems to me that a company with a concern for its customers would set up the trial version of 2007 to automatically revert to the 2003 version if the customer chose not to upgrade.

But the real kicker is that I can't even contact Microsoft about this without losing money. They charge $49 to discuss, via email or phone, any problems you might have with the Office Suite, if you don't happen to have your product code handy.

It's as if I walked into a car dealership, was enticed into trying out a new car for a few days, then when I returned it got told that not only could I not get my old car back but that I couldn't even complain to the dealership about it without being charged for the privilege!

In just over 1 year I have had to send my sons 360 back for "repair" from their "Rings of Death" at least 5 times- The latest being the beginning of April. They still have our console! I have been given numerous tracking and issue numbers assuring us that the system is on its way back to us- however the first time they sent it back completely unlooked at. When we called them to tell them this they told us we had to wait 5 business days while they did an investigation and that someone would call us back. When after 2 weeks we still did not hear from anyone we called them and were told there was no investigation and there had been no reason to wait to initiate a "new" repair. This was not a new repair- it was one that they had ignored the first time around. We then waited another week for them to send us the shipping label and box via Purolator. We again found ourselves waiting. On May 13th we again called to find out what was going on with my son's console. May 10th was his birthday and we had bought him new games to play. We were given another tracking and reference #. When we tracked the new numbers we had been given we found out that in fact, our console had been returned to them on May 12th with a new tracking # and no attempt at delivery. On May 15th after much resistence- I was finally put through to a supervisor named Steve- Steve had no explanation and told me that he thought they would probably re-ship it on Monday or Tuesday. When I told Steve that was unacceptable, I was promised a return call on May 12 by himself or the escalation department. I must now assume Steve no longer works there and that there is no "Escalation" department as I never recieved a return call. On May 21st I again contacted them and was given yet another Microsoft reference # and purolator # as well as the excuse that the reason they were taking so long shipping it back to us ( and here comes the slap in the face) is because they had to wait for Purolator to send them a box to ship it in! On May 24th- we again tried to track this so called shipment only to find that the number they gave us was for multiple shipments and none of them to our address. I again spoke to their customer service people and asked to speak to a supervisor- he offered to "comp" us something when (and if) we received the console back. When I told him I wasn't interested in any comps and that what I was looking for was the prompt return of our existing console and some inkling that the money, time and frustration we had experienced would be looked into and resolved so no one else would have to endure this- he hung up on me!

When (and if) we ever do get the console back- we will be selling it cheap and purchasing from either Nintendo or Sony.

BTW- my boys still have my old SNES and 64 - which works perfectly and has never caused us even a second of grief in over 15 years for the SNES and over 10 years for the Nintendo 64!

BACKGROUND: I purchased an xbox 360 2 years ago. It broke within 6 months, caused by the infamous Red Ring of Death power light. They sent me a totally different 360, which broke in 6 months from a non-red ring related issue, this was the video display crapping out. I have had 2 more (4 total) in 2 years. I haven't paid for anything but shipping (still about $80), because they know it was their own problem. They released a plagued product like Microsoft always does, and millions of millions were sent in to be fixed.

Because my 4th xbox broke last month from the Red ring, I decided to go buy a NEW xbox 360 Elite, the sweet shiny black 360 with built-in wifi and 256Gb hard drive. It is sooooo damn loud it's unbelievable! It was marketed as this fast and super quiet superior machine. Well it's not. They took out the red ring completely, but it still runs just as slow as my other 360s, and its 2x as loud! The fan on this thing is like a jet turbine, seriously you can hear it humming from the next room over.

It also gets super HOT! The main problem with the previous model was that people like me would play for 6 hours straight or leave it running, like a computer, and it would overheat. There weren't enough fans or vents. So they decide to build a larger vent and larger fan... that's fine. But it's still VERY VERY hot and loud. I'm worried it will fry again... let's just wait and see. Regardless I am not happy with another Microsoft product.

I'm pissed! Yesterday my DVD/CD unit broke so I removed it from my computer and tried to fix it. I couldn't so I just left it out. I turned my computer on this morning and WindowsXP said there has been changes to my system so I had to reload my MS Office XP Small Business. Guess what...my DVD/CD is broken so I can't load it and it shouldn't have to be reloaded anyway. Thats why I had to use the "product Key" I just hate having to enter the MS CD every time anything changes. Its not necessary and it just causes too much trouble. I am actively looking for your replacement to Outlook which is not very good anyway. My advice to others is to use other software if possible. Open Systems stuff is an alternative at very little cost.

A couple months ago I purchased Lips for the my Xbox 360. If you don't know, Lips is a karaoke game in which you and your friends sing along to lyrics on the screen. The box and advertisements for the game state 1-6 players can play the game at a time. As a singing game, I was led to believe that meant 6 could sing. You can even purchase additional microphones. I had friends over to play the game, for which I also purchased additional songs, but we had problems getting more than two players able to sing at a time. I examined the manual and found nothing. We finally did some internet research and eventually discovered, on non-microsoft forums, only 2 players can sing at one time but four others can use the controllers as "noisemakers." The manual discusses the noisemakers, but nothing anywhere on the box or in the manual states that singing is limited to 2 and the only possible way to play beyond those two is as noisemakers. It's all about singing and using the microphones.

After the failure at the party, I contacted Microsoft pursuant to contacts listed on the consumerist.com, speaking of my displeasure with the deceptive and misleading advertising and asking for a refund for which I'd gladly return the game to them as my entire reason for purchasing the game no longer existed. A week later, I was contacted by a member of Microsoft support. The gist of the response was "Microsoft does not see this as a problem. but buy our new version of the game, it allows up to four to sing!" I walked through each element (the box not containing that information, which a reasonable consumer would be looking at, the manual also not containing that and finally needing to research on completely unrelated sites). And the response was the same.

I've been a loyal xbox consumer. I've gone through two red rings of death and always supported Microsoft because the response and support has always been positive on their end. After this, I no longer am.

I'd like to make it known that Microsoft was deceptive in their dealings with this game and warn others away from it.

A warning to anyone considering purchasing the Xbox 360 - If your experience with Powercare & Microsoft is anything like mine has been - if it breaks, you aint getting another one via the warranty route, Powercare and Microsoft are not in the least bit interested in honouring the warranty for the RROD problem... if they were Im sure i would of had a new console by now, or at least given the oppertuynity to get a refund! Yes, they wont give me a refund on their faulty console (my second one to get the RROD problem)... nor have they replaced the console, so EFFECTIVELY, what has happened, I FEEL like I've been robbed of thousands of Rands... and they laughing all the way to the bank! If I hear another sob story about bad weather in the Durban harbour STILL preventing the ship to dock (2 weeks later) Im going to soil myself, guys, who you kidding!?!?! I want my replacement!

I used Microsoft 'one care' computer security system for 1 year but decided not to renew my contract, microsoft ignored this and used my credit card details to withdraw £37.99 from my card account, this is being investigated. This type of behavior by a major company is disgusting and I shall think twice before giving card details or dealing on the net again.

My 15 year old Son worked all last Summer and part of Winter to buy this X-Box 360 Elite and the intercooler ( a good system should not need an intercooler!) and has had nothing but problems with it. Now we are having to send it back to Microsoft again for more repairs
(the system was only 3 months old when the first problem occurred). I advise all Parents not to waste the money on this console, for within a couple of months, if not sooner, you will start having problems with it...connecting to DSL, reading discs, signing into your account, downloading anything that you purchase...which if a download fails, you don't get reimbursed for it...and then some. And their customer support is a joke. Half the time you cannot understand them because they talk too fast or are not very good with their English. And you never get the same person twice, so you have to go through the "issues" all over again with someone new who then tries to tell you something else is wrong! They try blaming it on you internet provider most of the time. They tell you that if you do not have a "Major" internet provider, that you will always have issues going online. If that's the case, then why don't they list that on the box? I bought the extended warranty ($39.99) and we have been dealing with Micro Soft again now, since July of this year, trying to get them to send us their shipping box so that we don't have to pay again to ship it. Each person I have talked to has told me that they will get that box out to us that day. I faxed them the receipt numerous times as requested, showing that it has not been a year since we bought it and that they are still resonsible for it's repairs. Each time I have faxed it, they tell me they cannot read it. I have faxed it from several different places. It is now September, still no shipping box, and they have told me that it is no longer covered by them and to return it to K Mart and let them repair it! Micro Soft has "doodled" around letting our warranty with them run out and now are trying to shift the resonsibilities onto K-Mart. After seeing what problems X-Box has had, I helped my Son by a Playstation 3 and boy, what a difference in graphics, getting online and customer support! We called them just to see what kind of service we would get from them, and we were impressed. We have not had one problem with this system and we have had it for about 6 months. We have been die hard Playstation people since the beginning and we still have our Playstations 1 and 2...and they still work! So, I advise anyone to investigate the numerous issues with X-Box before purchasing one. You'll be surprised how many others have had the same problems as we have had.

I bought bluetooth mouse from Yesbuy.net on Feb 20, 2009. First of all they didn't send me any order processing details at all. Then I received 'microsoft' mouse in a polythene bag with only packing list in it. It had printed sheet stuck on front stating to download software go to microsoft site!

Upon observation of mouse, it had multiple scratches on body, indicating an used item. I wrote them multiple times about it but they are not reacting. Also, on back of mouse, it said manufactured on Jan 2008! I was shocked to see such an old item.

After some time, I realized, even on/off button is missing which made mouse totally useless. Now I am trying to get my money back but I doubt if I will get it back.

I purchased the Microsoft webcam VX-5000 from the closest Office Depot. I attempted to install this "plug and Play" Webcam onto my computer, I followed the instructions and was diverted to a website filled with more instructions, after 12 days i said enough is enough, so i took the unit back to Office depot before 14 days, right when i brought the unit up to the counter i was quickly told that i "could not return the unit because i opened the box." So really like software if you open it it is yours NO MATTER WHAT, I was not asking for cash, i returned the unit BEFORE 14 days. I WILL NEVER BUY A SINGLE THING FROM OFFICE DEPOT AGAIN, I called the corporate head quarters and mentioned that i did not want them to send me a single advertisement or mailers, yet i still receive mailers. I will shop at Office Max or Staples even though they are 10 MILES FURTHER away, I shopped at this store for so long had laminations done, bought hundreds of dollars worth of product from them and they made their decision to shaft me for $50.00, they are a poor business and they will never get my business.

For Christmas my son wanted an XBox 360 S, and Call of Duty Black Ops. He received both. We had been strictly a Nintendo family before then, and he has plenty of experience with game systems.

This morning he tells me that the Black Ops disc has a circular scratch on it and will not play.

This seems to be a known problem if you move the XBox while the disc is playing.

Only he did not move the system, it sits upright on our TV stand and will not lay flat, and with everything remote nowadays it wasn't accidently jerked down either.

So barely a month later and we have a $50 game that will not play anymore.

XBox support denied that there is any problem, and since it is a third-party game will not replace the disc.

Never had a problem with Nintendo.

Can't afford a new $50 disc every month!

I PURCHASED MICROSOFT OFFICE STUDENT 2010 THROUGH A WEBSITE I THOUGHT WAS MICROSOFT.COM. APPARENTLY THE COMPANY WAS DIGITAL RIVER, INC. THE CHARGE APPEARED ON MY ACCOUNT AND THE FOLLOWING DAY THERE WAS AN ADDITIONAL UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE FOR AN AMOUNT SLIGHTLY LESS THAN THE FIRST. I LOOKED THE COMPANY UP WITH THE BBB AND WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN THEIR NUMBER. CUSTOMER SERVICE STATED THAT THE FIRST CHARGE WAS ONLY A HOLD ON THE ACCOUNT AND THAT IT WOULD BE CREDITED BACK TO THE ACCOUNT WITHIN 24-48 HOURS AND THAT THE SECOND AMOUNT WAS THE ACTUAL CHARGE. I WILL COMMENT AFTER 48 HOURS TO UPDATE THE STATUS OF THIS COMPLAINT.

HOPE THIS HELPS OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME SITUATION.

I received the following e-mail from the bogus company. My suspicion is that it is from a person that does not have a good command of the English language. If anyone receives the same letter, just check the English and you will immediately know that this a scam.

I tried to use the MSN Bing cash back program and have still never received a penny. Somehow they say they put the money in my normal email account - not possible.

Trying to get customer service out of Microsoft is impossible. Their own switchboard says they do not know the telephone number to any department or to customer service. No department seems to take responsibility for anything. They read the problem ticket and transfer to another department.

What a terrible company!

It seems that the hackers took over the COD MW2 Servers from Microsoft, everytime I play there is people with colored names ( sometimes offensive ) and when you file a complaint, the user names are totally different. It would be nice if Microsoft can do something about it, as, us the players, had to pay for playing online and then figured out that there are hackers on this games. It would be nice if all of us cancel the xbox live subscriptions and no one plays online...
