Attn: Harshini Rangaswamy,

You are welcome to eCourier Ltd an affiliate of the Microsoft Promotion. We are pleased to be at your service. eCourier delivery is Regulated and Stipulated by the Finacial Service Authority (FSA), the finacial institutions that Govern all Finacial activities in the United Kingdom.

Your particulars have been received in this office. This means that you have been officially cleared for payment by the Verifications Department of the Microsoft Promotion Office UK. To begin the final step of the claims process, which is the shipment of your winning cheque to you. With regards to this, there are three options open to you, you are required to select the most convenient of the three.

The options, together with their associated conditions are presented below: You are required to pay the necessary courier charges to enable us send you your cheque and other claim documents.

Shipping your winning cross cheque to you via any of this channel listed below:

This company decline reverse payment for these charges, stating that it is against our professional policy towards ensuring the safe delivery of the cheque to you. That if a reverse payment is made, and something goes wrong, that we/you cannot sue the courier company or insurance company to recover the full value of the fund as stipulated in the cheque since payment for insurance cover was not made at point of mailing. With the above reason, reverse payment is ruled out. Hence, payment on COD (Cost on delivery) is not allowed.

This is in accordance with section 13(1)(n) of the national gambling act as adopted in 1993 and amended on 3RD July 1996 by the constitutional assembly. This is to protect winners and to avoid misappropriation of funds.

Send your response to indicate your option, because you only have 15 working days to claim this cheque and after this period, your cash prize will be deemed to have been forfeited by you and will be returned to source in order to be reused in the drawings of the next edition of the promotion.

I also have received this email and halted before sending any money. Tried contacting Mr Fletcher Class again after the Ecourier email and yes, you guessed it - the email keeps bouncing back. I am going to email Microsoft Seattle with copies of the emails I received and see if I get a response.

I live in the UK, and no way would i pay £500 odd GBP for this - SCAM - LEAVE WELL ALONE.
If I had won I would willing pay to go to London and collect winnings in person which would only cost me about £50 GBP to travel if not less.

Hiya I have also received the same email and it looked genuine at first as I have alot to do with Microsoft Office but then after a while a penny dropped and new it was a scam. If I could go to London and collect the cheque myself then I would go but there is no way I would pay £100's of pounds. I have written to the newspaper to make then aware of the scam.

I have today received an almost identical copy of the above letter. The differences being contact names of One World Courier Company as Benjamin Williams and Mark Fletcher of the Microsoft Award Team. The reference Order Number BAY231282 remains the same as does the Fax number of the courier company. The difference being the personal phone number of Benjamin Williams +44 703-195-6903 and the email as dispatchofficer@oneworld-post.com - shame it's still a scam!!! Have to contact the Fraud Office immediately. Sandra Wills.
