Lazy staff: When my son first started going, I would always send a sippy cup with him and would rarely get it back. One day, when my husband picked him up, a sippy cup that was missing for over a week was returned to my son, with MOLDED, ROTTING milk inside. I threw the cup away and decided that from then on I would send him with a small water bottle since they cannot simply rinse out a cup or bother to look inside of it before giving it to the kids.

Next: Safety. There is a small set of stairs that have no rail-accident waiting to happen. They have a backyard playground with an inner wooden house gate that’s less than 2 feet tall, which my son, as well as other kids, had easily knocked over. There’s an outer gate that is taller, however not tall/secure enough to prevent my son from opening. He opened this gate several times and I had gotten complaints about it. Suffice to say, if a 3 year old can open a gate, then I think it's time for a better gate, especially since beyond the gate is a street! Also, when I picked him up on his last day there, there was a baby girl at that 2nd gate and my husband and I watched from our car to see how long it would take the teachers to notice and get her. It took them about 4 minutes. Although the child could not possibly open the gate, any person with ill intentions off the street could’ve easily snatched her up from there within that timeframe. Instead of putting a more secure gate, or even having one of the staff members actually stay by the gate while the kids are outside to prevent a most horrific accident or even an abduction from occuring, they tend to complain to parents about it and expel kids that can get out of the gate instead.

Last: lack of communication. Communication to these people means mostly complaining about your child. My son is a very hyper child who is curious given that HE JUST TURNED 3. He was only in the preschool area for about 1 month prior to them expelling him with absolutely NO warning. The reason for expulsion is: he is a danger to himself. How is he a danger to himself? He requires supervision. How else? He can’t use the restroom by himself, yet they left him in the bathroom alone and when they opened the door he had his hands in the toilet! How else? He was able to open a gate, and likes to open doors and climb on unsecured or unbarred windows. Basically, he’s a danger to himself because of the lack of supervision and safety and he needs to be watched, WHICH IS WHAT WE PAY THEM TO DO! On 7/29/13, my husband came home with 3 incident/write up reports: one dated 7/19, one dated 7/23 and one dated 7/29 with the complaints they have been giving us verbally, - why did I receive them all in one day with 2 of them over one week old?! On 7/30 when I went to drop him off, I was pulled aside by the owners and was advised that this would be his last day there due to the amount of supervision my son requires, meaning they were actually complaining about having to watch my son! I was highly upset that a previous notice or warning of expulsion had never been given, and I had less than 24 hours to find another place for him. Fortunately, I have family that can sit for me for 2 weeks until I can find a quality place that has NO ISSUE supervising children!
Mickey Academy is not a place for children who need to be supervised and behave as small children behave. Also, only about 2-3 of the roughly 9 staff members working with the toddlers/preschoolers seem to actually like working with kids. The remainder of them pretty much seem to be there for a check and I always hear them yelling at the kids. Glad I found a better fit for my son!

Yeah I saw your same exact comment on another post. So you go around looking for complaints about Mickey academy to say you disagree with another's experience? Ever heard of experiences outside of your own? Self-centered much? Thank you for showing the internet that you are just going around trying to make this place look way better than what it is. Hope they pay you well.

The owners of Mickey Academy have no care for children and are only image centered along with focused on getting money. They let the staff run the show and neither of them have a background in childcare or education. I've done my research after they did the same thing to my family. Around the same time as the 2013 post was placed so if these to woman are caring for children God bless the kids and parents dealing with them am lack of professionalism.

I disagree with the negative complaints about Mickey Academy Daycare. I strongly feel this daycare is in high rank for their cleanliness, attentive staff, and insightful curriculum. When parents leave their children off at a daycare, they wonder what type of care their child will be in. They often ask themselves will their child be happy, will they be safe, will they be treated as if they were the staffs on children. At Mickey Academy I can assure you all the answers to these questions are yes. My child has been at Mickey Academy since he was a toddler, me my husband and the staff watched my little boy grow into a bright and happy young child. As we watched his graduation ceremony at Mickey Academy we had tears in our eyes of how proud we were of him and all he has learned from the daycare both academically and socially ! Entering daycare can be An extremely hard transition for children, which is why at Mickey Academy the staffs job as teachers make the transition as comfortable and relaxing as possible!
