This review is based upon my experience with Michael Kennedy McIntyre. You may experience a different result if you decide to secure Mr. McIntyre’s services. I am writing this review on Michael Kennedy McIntyre, an attorney who practices exclusively in field of post conviction law in Atlanta, Georgia. On July 18, 2011 I signed an agreement with Mr. Michael McIntyre to obtain and review relevant documents, and to identify the appropriate course of action so my wife can get relief from her conviction and sentence with Georgia Department of Corrections. Upon Mr. McIntyre’s review he made the determination to represent my wife with the Georgia Pardons and Parole Board. To that end, Mr. McIntyre’s firm submitted a letter on July 21, 2011 to the Parole Board, informing the Parole Board that Mr. McIntyre’s firm has been retained to represent my wife’s case for parole, which at that time a parole date “was not” established. Throughout July, August, and September 2011 Mr. McIntyre was paid $18, 143.70 to appropriately prepare and present my wife case with the Parole Board. In late November 2011, I contacted the Parole Board and found out that my wife had already been issued a parole date in October 2011, meaning it appears that Mr. McIntyre never prepared a case that he was aptly paid to prepare. In addition, Mr. McIntyre billed me another $9, 475.00 to continue to prepare the case even after Mr. McIntyre was made aware that my wife had a parole date issued. Mr. McIntyre never disclosed this information to me until I personally notified him of the parole date being issued, without any input from Mr. McIntyre’s firm. It is my belief that Mr. McIntyre duplicitously withheld information regarding my wife’s parole date for two months for Michael Kennedy McIntyre’s own personal gain as he was paid $27, 618.70.
I have contacted Mr. McIntyre in an attempt to resolve this matter and was soon notified that Michael McIntyre hired an attorney to represent him with our dispute. On July 1, 2013 I received a letter from Mr. McIntyre’s attorney informing me of Mr. McIntyre’s final response to resolve this matter. In this letter Michael McIntyre informed me that I owe him another $14, 603.36 plus interest and Mr. McIntyre will forgive the debt, in exchange for my agreement to forgo the pursuit of the legal actions and defamatory acts, or consent to binding fee arbitration which would be overseen by the State Bar of Georgia. In this letter, Mr. McIntyre threaten to seek criminal charges against me if I don’t accept one of Mr. McIntyre’s offers, and disseminate information of my experience for Theft by Extortion. It appears Michael McIntyre feels he is entitled to bill $42, 222.06 for services and maintain possession of $27, 618.70 while failing to present my wife’s case with the Parole Board. Now that I am seeking legal remedies to have a portion of my money returned he is threatening criminal charges. In closing, it appears Mr. McIntyre has violated Rule 3.4(h) Fairness to Opposing Party and Counsel of the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct. Under this rule it states “a lawyer shall not present, participate in presenting or threaten to present criminal charges solely to obtain an advantage in a civil matter”. I have filed a formal complaint with the General Counsel of the State Bar of Georgia and will be analyzing the proper course of action to ensure others who are seeking an attorney to represent a family member with the Parole Board does not have the same experience.

When someone hires an attorney they expect complete disclosure and honesty. addition, Mr. McIntyre billed us another $9, 475.00 to continue to prepare the case even after he was made aware from the Parole Board that this family member already received a parole date. Mr. McIntyre maliciously withheld this information from us until a family member personally notified him of the parole date being issued, without any input from his firm. It is our belief that Mr. McIntyre duplicitously withheld information regarding the family member's parole date for his own personal financial gain.
In closing, Mr. McIntyre was paid the amount of $27, 618.70, failed to file a parole application, maliciously
withheld information, and has been reported the State Bar of Georgia. We "would not" recommend his services! We now understand the reason why Mr. McIntyre does not accept credit cards so he can take hard working people’s money and not worry about charge backs for services not performed. Michael Kennedy McIntyre's representation to the parole board is all a marketing gimmick. Mr. McIntyre uses the fact that he has connections with the Georgia Department Pardons and Parole because of previous board members are on his staff. Mr. McIntyre will tell you anything you want to hear and bill you for services never performed. This is one reason why he only accepts checks or money orders and does not accept credit cards because of getting charged back for services not performed. Our family paid this attorney almost $30, 000 and received nothing but constant lies. Mr. McIntyre you should lose your law license with your marketing and sales techniques so you can dip your hands into hard working people's pockets. Yes, you have a law licensed but you have no morals or ethics.
