MetaBank I am complaining that my check was rejected by netspend

My old account was closed but I have an active account that is new. The bank has no authorization to reject a check. I am on a fixed income now I don't have my money. Also I would like to speak to someone who understands english which would prevent something like this from happening in the future. I have been a loyal customer for years. How would u like not having your check?

MetaBank the reward for refer a friend

Employer ID# 423267 I spoke with this rep Raven he gave me this employer ID. I call in today asking about my direct deposit from my employer Wells Fargo. So I am a customer service rep for a bank FYI. First I ask the rep about my deposit and then I asked him about when would I receive my 20.00 for my sister referring me. He says oh your not eligible for the reward cause you had cards back in 2009. Ok FYI accounts are close so this is a new one but because I'm not new Im not eligible so then I would like to speak to a manager he say why I state I would like to complain because on nothing I read or when I actived my card did it say that I enter the refer code and it went me email and so he keeps saying that it does and again I say cam I speak to a supervisor he say hold on while I try to find one. Then he gets back and say oh I'm sorry looking over your accounts there close so your eligible for the reward can I have the code that your sister gave you. I have it to him he says oh that code was not entered when you actived I said oh yes it was I have the email that was sent and my sister was right there I ask for a supervisor again and tell him I would be reporting meta bank to FDIC and BBB because this first a lie to get new clients then when you get them you say different thing so they can not get the reward it is false advertisement and wrong to do to your customers then when as a customer I ask for a supervisor that's what I want. I would never treat my client like this as a rep of a bank my self. I only have this card cause my credit union account doesn't pay early and just to have a little money early I added this card to my direct deposit but I'm changing to a Wal-Mart card I am not dealing with a bank like this.

MetaBank metabank prepaid card

I rented a car on Tuesday May 30, the 2017 and used this card to make a $500 deposit for the car which was to be returned up the return of the car. Metabank mistakenly credited my account $1000 and then placed a block on my card instead of correcting my balance. It's been 4 days and I've had the merchant fax over all documents for my refund and still haven't received my money back. I am constantly told that I can't speak to a supervisor or none are available. How is this possible. This bank is stealing people's money

MetaBank prepaid visa gift card

The metabank paypower visa gift card is unusable & it doesn't expire till 03/20. so clearly this company is in litigation & could give me no explanation to why this debit card cant be accessed. I called paypower & they neglected to resolve this issue & repeatedly told me that they could not discuss why my debit card was suddenly unusable since 3/2/17, 3 years before the printed expiration date. I know its only a nominal amount of money ($50) but it is a lot of money to my daughter & she was cheated out of a birthday gift.

MetaBank travel card hacked

My daughter is on a four month ship based educational tour. When she got to Morocco her AAA secure prepaid travel card would not work. I called the local AAA and they said well she's out of money. She should have still had $700. on that card. They referred me to the bank that services the cards. META BANK said something about my daughter being in Korea after I told the person that she was in Morocco. Her card numbers had been stolen and $650. drawn from the card leaving my daughter $35. The bank person was very uncooperative. She said it could be four months until my daughter MIGHT get her money back. This leaves a student with no money while traveling. She kept saying but they used an ATM (physical card). I told the bank that my daughter was on a ship in the Atlantic with no ATM at the time the withdraws were made in Korea. Several calls back and forth. Got the same bank person each time (how big is this bank?) I pointed out that most banks return the money and then complete the investigation. META BANK claimed because it was a prepaid debit it was different. I told them yes, you already have the money. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They said it would be 24 to 48 hours for that person to call back. When she did - 24 hours later - she was also unhelpful. I asked for the bank full name, address and phone number and because I was driving on the freeway would she call back right away and leave it on my phone. She refused and said she would call later but never did.
The bank also wanted me to put more money on this compromised card so they could issue another one. I told them several times there was no way to get a card to my daughter who was by then in a Berber village in the back country of Morocco - no address. They didn't seem to understand this. We don't want another card. This bank is too dangerous. I want my money back! Bank people should know by now that hackers can route things through anywhere they want and don't have to have a physical card. Also anyone can buy a card machine and make bogus cards.

I called the local AAA several times - they hung up twice while transferring. I asked them to interface with the bank to get her money back to her faster. I told them she would not be getting another vulnerable card from AAA. The local person tried to make all kinds of excuses but the fact is they mis-represent these cards. I think they make a lot of money off these so have a vested interest in pushing them. They don't explain the charges fully, nor do they talk about the shoddy bank with which they are doing business. Since the bank person herself didn't understand how hacking works it does not fill me full of confidence in them. I doubt we will every see that money again

RE: Disputed Account – Notice to Furnisher [protected] Debit Card

Dear Sir or Madam:
On March 1, 2021 I received this Debit Card for a Metabank account in my name, but I did not request or authorize this account. I tried to notify your bank of this identity fraud using your customer service phone number, but the machine would not put me through because I had no account. I tried to email your bank but the email form to contact your bank is no longer available. I was not able to find a way to notify your bank except in writing. This is a very dissatisfying experience and very inconvenient for me to get this account closed.
Please provide information on how you will handle this issue in the future.

MetaBank gift card

I received a Meta Bank gift card as a birthday card. It was purchased at Meijer in Essexville, Mi. The card was worth $50. The card was purchased for $54.95. I used it the following day at a restaurant. The bill was 53.12 so I used the card and cash that included tip. The waitress returned and said that there was only $41.12 of credit on it. The back of the card gave a web site and a phone number to call. The card and the packaging it came in said no extra charges after purchase. When I went online to the web site it redirected to several businesses that wanted to sell you stuff. I then called the number and it started out with a recording that said "congratulations, you have won a free cruise, followed by 3 more advertisements. Each offer was about 3 minutes long. After declining all of the offers, another recording said the number had changed. I called it and got 3 more offers. After declining, it just hung up. I then called Meta Bank and got the same offers. These cards are scams.

MetaBank fraud loan offers

My son, david, was called by michael steven kennedy in texas offering him a loan working through our bank (meta bank). He asked for our acct. No. And routing no. To transfer the money into. First we needed a green dot card as insurance since my son doesn't have much credit. He was under the impression the money would go into our account overnight... The amount of the green dot card was $145. We waited and michael told us to call meta bank since things were too slow and they referred us back to michael for $3000. Michael needed another green dot card for $105. Meta bank are attorneys & michael was the loan processor
I never heard from michael until thurs. And he said to call back in 10 min. It will go through.. I continued calling every ten minutes until a security person answered and said michael went home. Since then I have heard nothing & leave messages. We want our money back because we are low income. Michael's phone number in texas is [protected]. I have the green dot cards & receipts. I feel these people are from india using fake names. Please contact me on this issue. Thank you. I really need my money back.

MetaBank pre-paid discover gift card

I have a pre-paid 50.00 discover gift card with a 0.72 balance left on it. None of the participating retailers can get the.72 cents off of the card. When I called the toll free number on the card, they told me that there had to be at least a 1.00 balance left on the card to be used. That means metabank keeps my.72 cents! There is also no way to add money to this card. If metabank does this to thousands of customers look at those profits for basically taking my money from my gift card. Sounds like a huge scam to me. If this is legal, I wonder how that law got passed? I know.72 cents isn't a lot of money, but it`s my.72 cents, not theirs! (p. S there is nothing in the small print that I have with the card that says anything about this practice.)

MetaBank fraud

My mother is a victim of ID theft. Her SS and retirement were both hijacked and sent to Meta Bank of SDak. We've been trying to get their cooperation to freeze accounts and return funds, ect. They have been stalling and untruthful. They are in league with scam artists! So far, over 3 months of my mom's income has been stolen. We finally got her SS rerouted but Meta Bank is still holding her annuity checks and has lied about illegal activity going on under their umbrella of so called legal banking. They are immoral, unethical and ripping off defenseless old folks. They need to be shut down by the Government. Please report this to the proper authorities. Thank You.

MetaBank issues I had

I have been faithful to fingerhut. This is ironic, in trying to resolve and issue with the bill. I paid a balance on mar 7th, 2012 and it was cleared at my bank. They have a no record of it. My complaint
Is this, to tell the truth about my company and how I might be able to use there resources.

Calling is not the answer, because I was told there was no supervisor, or cannot do that. This is not how any company needs to be represented. Because of this I will not do business with fingerhut again. The number to call is in the terms and conditions of the credit account. And nobody is going
Tell you that you have to write them in order to cancel. With the internet why? Please let people
Know that the credit account on fingerhut is through metabank.

MetaBank bad services, unauthorized charges

On 03/06/2012 I was charge 132.27 on my credit card for restraunt order. The charge was 110.23 at the restraunt. I reported it to upside who told me I would have to wait for it to be out of pending transaction in order to dispute it and they would credit my account "same day". On 03/08/2012 I called again as the transaction was paid, the person sheldon told me id have to fill out a dispute form, nobody advised me of this on tuesday, and then he canceled my card. Now I have had no access to my account, will not have access to my account on my payday, charged 3.00 everytime I call the bank, plus now paying 10.00 for a replacement card I didnt want canceled to begin with. I asked to speak with a supervisor, he told me he was the supervisor, I asked for his boss, he told me there was no one else I could talk to. I called back and spoke with a supervisor shantelle I believe who went through the notes each time reading what was put in the computer by the customer service people, mauch of what was untrue and incorrect. I told her that was not what I was told or advised by the upside staff, she insisted that it was because that was what was written, come to find out sheldon wasnt even a supervisor, only a liar much like the company. I have spent out of my account funds to just talk to them on the phone, left email messages without responses, lied to, charged for a card I didnt want canceled, plus they hold funds over the cost of the original charge. Shantelle and sheldon are both unprofessional as they lie and cover up for the bad practices of the bank to include charges which are avoidable. Nobody seems to be able to help me now. This company has over 117 complaints on the bbb website with a grade of f for the company. They should be investigated by the attorney general for the money the steal from consumers and the bad practices they have to recover fees from their patrons. Avoid them at all costs. Im surprised that metabank who they fall under according to my card and visa allow for such practices.

MetaBank ripping off consumers

I received a $50 prepaid visa card as a gift from a parent of one of my students. The card is issued by metabank. The receipt, which the parent taped to the packaging showed $50 purchased on 12/14/11. On the packaging, it is stated that there is a $4.95 purchase fee and 'no fees after purchase. On 12/20/11, I used the card to purchase a $50 gift card at a restaurant. I opened the packaging of the gift card for the first time at the cash register at the restaurant. I was given a receipt showing the available balance of the card was only $41.66. I had never opened it. Where is the additional $8.64? I feel consumers are being ripped off by these prepaid gift cards. The consumer paid $4.95 up front for the $50 card. I could only use $41.66. This is not the first time I have had this kind of issue with a prepaid gift card.

MetaBank pre-paid rip off

I would strongly advise against purchasing pre-paid cards issued by this institution. I purchased a pre-paid debit card. And while using the card for an online purchase, I typed in the wrong address and submitted the charge for payment. After the payment was declined, I re-entered the correct information. The payment was then accepted, but metabank placed a 3-day hold the card for funds equal to the amount of the original purchase. So, essentially, the card was charged twice for the same transaction. I called the merchant, who then told me they would request that the hold be lifted over a 3-way call with the bank. We placed a 3-way call to metabank, but metabank refused to lift the hold on the funds - despite the fact that the merchant verified that the second charge to the card was invalid. This service * hard, and I would strongly advise against purchasing their pre-paid products!

Had a similar issue with Metabank, except Amazon wanted to play " It's not our problem" bull crap. Amazon's customer service seems to be on another planet than the store itself. They should know all the banks they deal with, and should resolve any banking problems with their consumers, or they are part of the problem, not the solution.

MetaBank stay away

I purchased this prepaid debit card, placing $200 on it june 2010. Everything went fine for a few weeks - my transactions went through, until one day I tried to purchase something on it. Metabank had placed a hold on my account. When I called them, they said that needed further information from me. They could give me no reason, and said they didn't even know why, but they needed me to fax them 2 forms of id, which I did. The next day, I called them. They said my id wasn't good enough, my california driver's license good thru 2014, and my government issued social security card. I said okay, what else could you possibly need?! They wanted a copy of my lease agreement, which I sent to them. Again, next day, I called. It wasn't good enough. They wanted it notarized (which costs $15 in my state). I talked to a supervisor who said my ids would be good enough and that the hold would be removed within 24 hours.

That was almost 2 months ago. Metabank, aka everywherepay.com will not remove the hold on my card which has a balance of about $50.

I don't know where to turn. This is the most ridiculous situation I have encountered on my own money!

Stay away from metabank or everywherepay.com. They are obviously running some type of scam.

MetaBank iadvance loan

On oct 13th metabank supposely stopped there iadvance and supposely gave notice but the notice of termination was only visible if you log in your account. So me being that I dont log in that often to check my account only when my funds are available didnt know that this was happening so when I checked my funds I saw that my loan was paid but I wasnt able to take another one out cause iadvance was terminated. So that day I got screwed in paing all my bills and still trying to catch up. I dont believe its all metabanks fault but they should have either called all there customers or sent and email or a letter in advance of termination of iadvance thats all. Now I just be more careful with these prepaid cards.

They were shut down by the government for having extremely high interest rates. It's not their fault they were shut down, most payday loan places were. It is the consumer's fault for becoming addicted to payday loans and taking them out and using their paycheck to cover them. Payday loans are for emergencies, not for living expenses in-between paydays.

MetaBank no email warning of discontinuance of service

Well, the iadvance program was cancelled and now they took out the full amount owed them. If I had known in advance that they were going to do this, perhaps I could have made other plans to borrow back the money I usually repay to them. I cannot do anything. I am short this month.. Left with $119 on my accountnow card to live on and pay bills this month. My social security was already cut this month and that was almost $350 in itself. Between the iadvance closing and not knowing this soon enough and the unexpected deductions from social security, I am left unable to pay my bills or live without money. [protected]@usa.com
