This website takes advantage of the bereaved. It is an unmonitored setting that takes credit card payments, yet issues error messages for any problem with content posting or contact messages. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they say "complaint is not within their scope of service". Turns out the company operates out of the Cayman Islands as "LIFESTAGEMEDIA". They have a wedding website as well as a memorial website.
Horrible experiance! There are other memorial sites out there that are much less, offer more, and have a much more supportive staff. BEWARE!
Anyone find out what is going on with the site? I'm heart broken.

I am totally disappointed by this site and would like to transition all my Dad's content to a more reliable site. But, I do need all the content (Tributes and candles) which I am not able to get from a cached source. I do hope the owners understand that this was a site for the bereaved and grief stricken and provide access to all content to the respective owners as a humanitarian gesture. I also request godaddy (The webhosting company that appears to be the hosting site) to find a way to provide all content to the respective owners if the site is going to be shut down permanently.
I keep getting the error message- been trying for the past few days and am very concerned- We have had a memorial page for the past 10 years almost and this is the first time we have had major access issues. I hope it is resolved and that if they are going o remove it they have the decency of letting us know and giving us access to all the posts so we can copy them and save them...

Haven't been able to add any content to my son's site for 3 years. One day I entered new content. the very next day when I went to finish adding content, the tool bar was no longer visible. Adding new content suddenly required the knowledge of html code. I attempted to contact someone at memory-of.com numerous times to no avail. At least I was still able to light candles and read old entries and comments from others as well as see the photos I had uploaded.
On April 1, 2016 I was still able to access the website. Since April 2, 2016 I have not been able to get to the website. All that comes up is "html error 503." That's happened before, but it usually only lasts a day or two at most. My guess is that website maintenance was being done. Now that it has been 5 days, I'm concerned this is more than maintenance.
This company used to be great! I'd submit questions and would get a response within 48 hours or so. The staff was very kind, compassionate and helpful. It has not been like that for the last 5 or 6 years. New ownership I presume. Such a shameful way to scam people. Memories that were solely recorded at my son's website might be gone forever. My heart hurts for those of you who are newer in your grief. This would have destroyed me 5+ years ago. Praying this is only temporary.

Right after My son died I paid for a memorial web page for him that promised to keep his up forever so family and friends could go and light a candle and leave messages but I have been trying to access his page but it keeps coming up with an error 503. I have sent messages on their Facebook page but I have no response. My heart is broken over this I love to go and light a candle or leave a message on there for his birthday and other things and read what others have to say. Now I can't do that and I don't understand why. I paid a lot of money to have this.You know I want to cry I miss him and now I feel like I lost him all over again. I know it might sound crazy to you but if you have a child that is alive you can go to your child's Facebook and post I love you if they have one and now a days who don't my son does not have a live page just the memory page and I love to post the words I love you to him but now I can't. This makes me so mad. Jesus please don't let these people get by with this. We paid for our loved one to have a beautiful memory page. The web page is emmanuel-rush.memory-of.com and it's not working
I just tried to open Memory-of.com to look at the page I created for my father when he passed away in March of 2007, and I got the Error message, too. It was such a nice tribute to my Dad, and I hope all the photos, tributes, candles and condolences from friends and family aren't lost forever. This is a sad state of affairs for everyone who paid close to $100 for a forever subscription and have lost the rights to visit the memorial they created for their deceased loved ones. I'd be more than willing to sign up for a class action suit if one materializes!
I have been trying to light a candle for my dad for the last week and was getting errors. This weekend I see that the site is totally down with a 503 error. I hope it is just repairs. Given the issues that have been raised in this forum, I will try to move the content to another site which is more reliable and have a snapshot of the site at all time on my drive so that I can revive it on any website if this one goes away.
I don't understand what is happening now because I was able to go to my children's websites at memory-of.com Easter sunday of 2016 which was two weeks ago, and now I keep getting that there is an Error 503. I hope to God it is not shut down, because I take care of three of my children's sites and my grandson's as well. I've spent a lot of money purchasing these sites and that is what keeps me going some days. I'm hoping they are just doing repairs or something because if they are closed that means many, many people have been ripped off. I've had one of my sites for 11 years now and never had a problem, and I'm hoping that this is not the start of one either. However, some people have no problems stealing from others and they don't much care if they are grieving parents or not. Thieves have no conscious!
I cannot edit my son's site. When I attempt, all I can see is jibberish CODE ! I have e-mailed and tried to submit the contact form and it will not go through. This is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE site. I hate it for lying and not providing ANY service to the bereaved. KARMA.

My son's memory site: all the lit candles, messages, and pictures are unattainable. I think it is horrible to make the site unavailable and loved one's are unable to retrieve and save any of it. People have put a lot of time and effort into Memoryof.com as a place to have closeness with their loved ones. My son died at 13 and I wanted to post a birthday wish to him today, he would be 23. Now, the site does not come up. What happened to the lifetime membership? It should still be honored. Money was taken. A MAD MOTHER!

I"m having similar issues too. I paid the forever fee 3 years ago. Then last week I received a message saying the site for my daughter would be shut down due to non-payment. I've sent multiple messages with no response. I am really to scream and start suing some people. This is so wrong!
Years later and still can't access my mams 😭 this is so cruel 😞

I paid for a lifetime hosting of my deceased son's website. I am devastated that I can no longer access his page! There were precious memories on there, that cannot be replaced!

It seems the new owner is a scam-merchant who cares nothing for the grieving relatives. The best suggestion I can make is to go to the WayBackMachine - http://archive.org/web/ and plug in the address for your old memory-of website (eg isabelle-broadhead.memory-of.com ). That way you may be able to retrieve some of the tributes and candle text, as well as your stories. I don't think images and multimedia will work, but the text is mostly available for our site at least.
Does anyone know why www.memory-of.com is not working ? It is 15th November 2013 and I need to get access to my husband's memorial site ! Any information, advice would be helpful thanks. If anyone has the email address of the owners of the website so I could find out what is happening.

It's the first week of January and the site is down AGAIN! I just bought my own domain, I'll take my 300, 000 and plus hits and bring them elsewhere. THETAYLORFUND.COM
I can't handle the site being down for every holiday. birthday and death day.
Use GoDaddy or someone else and buy your own domain.
Cheaper and it won't go down all the time.

All of us who have lost tons of messages, candle lighting, and the warmth we had going to visit our loved ones, we need to contact our local news stations. Most stations now have some kind of "problem solver" on the show, and they can reallly get things done. If we, from all over the country, the world for that matter, start letting our frustrations be known, we may, at the very least get some answers. I'm contacting my local stations.

I could access my son's memorial site until Sat 14 July 2012. What is happening? I created this site early in the year and paid my forever subscription after another site I had his memorial on had gone defunct.
Has anyone learned more about this? Why the site is down and if or when it will be back up? Is there any action I can take?
i never received an email regarding change of ownership. My page was accessible until mid afternoon on Saturday 30th June 2012 .
In the morning I was able to view it then by the afternoon the whole site was gone. My sons story is written there (nowhere else) and I am terrified that I will forget all the details. I also have 4 years of candles and loving words from friends and family that I will now never be able to print off. If it was taken over why has it disappeared. Have you been able to find out anything else? I am so gutted. My sons anniversary is tomorrow.
FYI Memory-of.com was taken over by a company called Library of Life as of an email I received in July 2011. The original owners, LifeStageMedia, although it was hard to get in contact with a human being, I was able to finally contact a Henry Chamberlain who did go out of his way to be sure all the issues I was having were resolved to my complete satisfaction. Since I am sure he is not with the new company that took Memory-Of.com over, I guess we're sorta stuck having paid for a site that no longer exists. But I am going to do some major sleuthing and if I find any solid information on the new owners I will surely post here!

I had to research Henry Chamberlain from LIFE STAGE MEDIA and follow all of the google links provided from there. At the very end of all of these postings, I have listed his current involvement and all phone #s. I never spoke with him personally, but amazing after leaving a VM message the site was up and running again. GOOD LUCK!
Why is the site down. I could access it before the pandemic, now there is nothing for the site. Is it gone forever?
I think Memory-of is the best set out website, I have had a site since 2005. MO has been hacked a few times. I totally agree on the issue of not being able to get an answer to questions. I am in the UK so trying to contact anyone is virtually impossible..
I have in the last week decided to set up another site for a family member I have literally hundreds of photos to upload and the mulitiple photo uploader isn't working so I am having to do them one at a time. This is discusting when we are paying £49.00 for a service that doesn't have any way of sorting customers problems... It could be a fantastic site. I hate the way everything is resized now too. My origainal site has decent sized graphics the new one the pictures are too small...
I wish you could pay with paypay. ! Memory of- if you sort peoples problems you would be number 1 in my comments surely this won't take a lot of sorting out!
