Memorial Hermann Health System insurance billing from dec. 2016 still not resolved

I was incorrectly billed $150 for my yearly deductible by Memorial Hermann PT in Jan. 2017. The billing dept. will not refund the $150 which I have already paid to other medical institutions. They stated that there is a question about funds that my 2016 insurance company has not paid in the amount of over $2, 000. I have had my 2016 and 2017 insurance companies call Memorial Hermann billing and they continually say it has been sent to a review committee. It is almost May and they still have my $150. There is no way that 4 short PT visits are over $2, 000. I am on Medicare Advantage and have never had a problem like this. Can you help me?

Memorial Hermann Health System no consent... it does matter they do what they want.

No Consent for Internal Jugular Vein Puncture
No Consent for PICC line
NO Consent for CT scan of the brain & of the body
No Consent for sedation drugs starting with the ambulance ride to the hospital. (the benzos, sedation drugs, nearly stopped my heart and I was put on a ventilator because I could not breathe well strictly & only because of the benzos. I was disoriented because of all the drugs they gave me, and my original problem of being severely dehydrated was being overlooked. I was delirious, and unable to communicate.
No consent for the insulin and other drugs. Don't kid yourself, potassium, sodium, and magnesium are capable of bringing in sugar, so is lemon water.
No consent for a Chlorox bath, both hair and body
No consent for urinary catheter. .
No consent for the restraints, all four limbs. My sternum and left shoulder still hurt from the nurses and doctors hitting me.
They would wait for my husband to leave, to start the abuse and their secret CT scans.
They diagnosed my wrong, I never had sepsis! I never had DKA, and I don't have diabetes...unless I'm severely dehydrated. I eat normal and have normal sugar levels. ...Thank God I knew better not to take about the insulin they gave me. BENZOS (all of them) increase my sodium and glucose levels. Benzos make me appear to be diabetic...but I'm not. Now I have to clear my name and my reputation and take a glucose metabolism test. Doctors and nurses hate diabetics, but love the money it brings.

Memorial Hermann Health System er care

Last night (2/15/2017) I was a patient in memorial hermann (humble location) and this was a horrible experience for me, probably the worse hospital experience of my whole life! First off, there was a guy at the front desk that was very rude! Then the nurse that started my IV stuck me and completely missed the vein she then began to move the needle around on my arm and never got the vein she attempted to poke. After she had to take it out so then she stuck my hand! It was SO painful! It never stopped hurting the whole time I was there. So I get to the back and my nurse was HORRIBLE he didn't explain anything to me about what was going on and he didn't explain anything to me I had a $200 deductible for pretty nothing I need to speak with someone regarding this location and the care I received last night.

Memorial Hermann Health System Scheduling

On January 10, 2017, my doctor sent an order to Memorial Hermann for a procedure. Memorial scheduling contacted me on January 17 to schedule the procedure for January 28 @ 8:30 am for the 7789 SW Fwy ste. 150. I explained to the scheduler that whenever the doctor schedule in hospital procedure the address is 7600 Beechnut. She told me that I needed to go to the 7789 SW Fwy so I called my transportation to change the location to 7600 Beechnut. The next day scheduling called to schedule the same appointment so I told her it was already scheduled. She look at the schedule and replied "Oh, you have been scheduled already. Then was told to go to 7789 SW FWY for the procedure therefore I had to call my Transportation again to change the location. On January 27, 2017, I received another call from scheduling telling me she needed correct the appointment and orders. She told me I needed to go to 7600 Beechnut, they needed to get my Physical Notes from my neurologist, rescheduled me for January 30, 2017 @ 7:30 am and they needed to wait for my medical records. Since I am allergic to IVP Dye, my doctor pre-medicates me to tolerate the procedure. My doctor started medicating me January 26 to prepare for the procedure now he will have to pre-medicated me again. This hospital has incompetent scheduling representatives and medical people. They do not care that the procedure is needed to provide orders on how to help the patient. I am on some pretty heavy pain medication so their mistakes prolongs the suffering for patient. Therefore, the patient needlessly suffers! If this was the first incident, I would not be so upset but it previously happen. In 2015, the Neurosurgeon requested the same procedure where they schedule me for the procedure and had me go to wrong place. Then the orders were faxed over to another incorrect department and took a week to get the procedure. When I went in for the procedure for 7:00 am, they forgot I was there so it was 4 - 5 hours before they realized it. I was in tremendous pain without being able to get pain meds. To apologized for their incompetent error, I was given a plant for what they called inconvenience. Then I received a call from their business office 3 months later threaten to send my account a Collection Agency because my Insurance did not pay the full bill. What is scary is they scheduled me for an incorrect procedure that could have caused more health issue.

Memorial Hermann Health System doctor and staff not doing job performance

Dr. Cynthia Ripsin is recently new at this location 2095 W. Main suite B League City Texas 77573. It is under Memorial Hermann. I have met with her one time. (she took over for previously Dr. Roeser), She was vey rude and she would ask me a question and then just cut me off and never let me finish. She would keep saying hmm uh. I told her at that time that I was on a medication for anti depression with Dr. Roeser but I didn't think it was doing me any good. But she would not work with me or prescribe anything else. I told her I would give it more time to see if it would be affective. I have been out of medicine for over 2 weeks. My pharmacy has contacted them 3 or 4 times. So I called the doctor office and spoke with Blanca and she informed me that the pharmacy had just sent in a request on December 14th. I told her that was the last request they sent in because they have requested a few times before that. So then she tells me that Dr. Ripsin has denied the request (know one ever contacted me) because she wasn't aware that I was taking the medication. So over 2 weeks later I find this out ( only because I called ). This office is very unprofessional. I have been going to this office for a long time. And even when Doctor Roeser was there, It has always been a problem. One of the women that work in this office is Blanca. It has taken her over a month to get results for medicine, and that's because I called her several times. She never returns any calls. This is a joke for a place of business. And now they have a new doctor that just see's you as a dollar sign. I have filled out several surveys with Memorial Hermann, doesn't do a bit of good. I will take to this to the board of directors if I have to. I should have done something a long time ago. If you have any questions, you can contact me at [protected].

Memorial Hermann Health System waiting two hours, double booking appointments

I would like information about your scheduling procedure. I understand that the employees making appointments are told to make appointments every ten minutes. This is ridiculous! It's no wonder patients are waiting two hours to see the doctor. I'm sorry but that is unacceptable, the patients time is just as valuable as the doctors time. TEN minutes, there is no way a doctor can get through an appointment in ten minutes. The next time there is an unacceptable wait we will send an invoice for our valuable time. This is at various locations, scheduling needs to be done in a realistic manner, this is unacceptable.

Memorial Hermann Health System My daughter E.R. visit

Hello I want to file a complaint regarding my daughter E.R. visit at Hermann Memorial Northeast. When my daughter arrived at the E.R. with my sister, she were in severe pain. My daughter came in with severe abdominal pains and vomiting continuously none stop. My sister stated they did her vital signs and sent her back to the E.R. lobby, after waiting for about 30 minutes. My daughter began to cry out because of the pain in her abdominal, the pain were so severe she sat on the floor of the lobby and began crawling over the floor with staff and other people in the lobby looking on at her. The people in the lobby felt sorry for her, because the staff allowed this to go on. My daughter was in so much pain, I came in praying for her. I decided to talk to the clerk that was on duty, asking her what can they do for my daughter. She stated they had 4 patients before her, but it wasn't anyone in the E.R. lobby worse off than her. I was always told they see patient that is worse off than the other. The staff waited until my daughter pass out, when I call out for help the staff respond real slow. Taking their time picking her up off the floor, so some kind young man came over to help put her into the wheelchair. Earlier they stated they didn't have a bed available, but once she passed out they found an empty room from somewhere. Once I seen my daughter go limp, the worse set in, I shouted oh my God. My sister began to cry and said now you want to help, it shouldn't have not got to that point just to get good help. I think it was because of the color of her skin, now my daughter have this embed in her mind how she was treated at this place. I think a dog would have been treated better than my daughter. After my daughter passed out, they threaten to put me and my sister out of the hospital during the time my daughter passed out. They stated we was making too much noise, I promise you we was that loud. We was trying to get some assistance, before her passing out and limp. If you see your love one passed out and limp will you be calm, I don't think so. This have hurted me so much until I wouldn't recommend this hospital to no one. I hope something can be done regarding this matter, because this is not good for your business. People that don't love their job, people and have a problem with skin color don't need to be an employee at Hermann Memorial Northeast.

Memorial Hermann Health System front desk- angela perez

I have been waiting in the waiting room for 7 hrs in the jones pavilion hall and all i wanted was an update on my family member's Sx. So i go up to the front desk attendants and their job is to help, well i asked ANGELA PEREZ for an update and she refused to make the call to check the status . I had asked hours before and another nice young indian woman helped me by calling for an update. Why couldn't ANGELA PEREZ just do that for me?! She's been doing it for everyone else!...I am beyond disappointed in her. I my self am in the medical field and know how this goes, i do my best to help my patients specially in these nerve recking hours. SHE NEEDS TO BE SUSPENDED FOR THIS, SO SHE LEARNS TO RETRAIN HER SELF AND COME TO WORK WHEN SHE IS READY TO ACTUALLY BE HELP TO THE PT'S FAMILIES! IF NOT FIRED! She shows no respect by the way, with her faces making you feel as if you were interfering with her time. This is absolutely unexceptable! Please do something about this. Give someone else the chance to have the job she obviously is not proud to have. Thank you.

Boy, it's people like you that make a hospital administrative job extra special.

First, by the tone of your email, it sounds as if you have some emotional problems... And it also sounds like you have a sense of entitlement. Maybe her co worker did, in fact call, and they were waiting for a status. You don't know...and you are wrong, for posting such a nasty complaint, while you were allowing emotion to vividly color your opinion.

Second, if you think that a doctor can step out of surgery whenever he gets a call for status, you are also sorely mistaken. You had seven hours to think about this!?

My point is: just because YOU want updates doesn't mean that a hospital can drop what they are doing and handle you with kit gloves. It's not feasable. Grow up, and wait your damn turn.

Memorial Hermann Health System billing

Memorial Hermann's patient care is great, but their billing department is terrible. A year after services were rendered (and I paid my co-pay) I received a huge bill. When I called, they wouldn't put me on a payment plan because the charge was over a year old. On two other bills, they set up payment plans but stopped sending me invoices. I called to let them know I didn't get an invoice and made a payment over the phone. The next month, no invoice. Then they sent it to a debt collector. They messed up my credit report over the remaining $500 balance after I'd already paid thousands to them (on top of the more than $500, 000 my insurance had paid). When I call to discuss it with a billing supervisor, I'm told it is my fault for not paying. How am I supposed to pay if they can't send me an invoice and can't set up automatic payments? I'm supposed to babysit their billing department? This has happened twice. I now take my child to Texas Children's. Haven't had a single problem with billing with them. Skip the drama, don't go to Memorial Hermann.

I wish I could tell this complainant that once a bill goes n2 collections, it's quite possible they will reduce the amount they say you owe by 50%.

However, the last time I was hospitalized at TMC for back surgery, somehow I wound up n the ER, not knowing why r how I got there. The end result was that when they decided I needed to get out, they would not allow me to get dressed, threw a gown at me, so my naked butt wouldn't show out on Fannin St, made me get in a wheelchair, took me down a ramp, threw my belongings n2 the air, which landed on the drive, ordered me out of the chair although I didn't have a way home. The biggest problem was that I was 71 yrs old when this happened, That's what is called "Adult Abuse." I complained all the way to the top and to my knowledge nothing was done about it, yet they expect me to pay my co-pay of $400. I told them to sue me 'cause I'd love to tell a judge what happened. I've since transferred all my medical care to another hospital.

Memorial Hermann Health System kicked me out & very rude

I was admitted on Monday 12, 2011 for a bad TI and was getting IV antibiotics.Come Thursday night the 15th about 7:00pm, the social worker came in very rudely and told me I hae to go.I'm paralized and had no way to get home that late. So, they told me I would have to take a cab.I live 40 miles or so and couldn't do that even if I had the money, because I can't get into a cab.So, they finally called an ambuance transport that my Medicare doesn't cover, so I'm stuck with the bill I can't afford. My sister could have came got me the next morning, but they would have none of that. So, I'writing to say unless something is done about this, I will be seeking legal advice.I just thought I would give Memorial Herman the chance to make the nesacary actions before I do.
Thanks alot,
Virgil Daniel

I too am on Medicare and often try to go to places that take it since it's difficult for me to pay for services out of pocket. I suggest that you send the bill to the hospital's billing department. Include a letter explaining what happened and politely ask them to pay the cost of getting you home.

Memorial Hermann Health System dirty restroom and cafeteria conditions

I have been in the er at Memorial Hermann two or three times and each time the restrooms at least on the first floor have
been filthy with trash on the floor, the sink tops are all wet and paper towel waste receptacles are always
filled to overflowing. I viisted the cafeteria the last time I was in their er at approx.9:00 P.M. and there
was food on the tables (leftovers) food and crumbs on the floor a dishtowel on the floor and the cashier
and a kitchen/cafeteria were at her register just "shooting the breeze". I went there a few times later after complaining to my er dr. who was very good and she said she would tell the charge nurse, I told her to tell the CEO. I have written him twice about the situation with no response. And each time I visit ther is no change.
i have sever leg and hip pain and I will have to use their pain clinic but I don't really to the way things are there. They spend hours buffing the lobby floors but they can keep the common cafeteria and rr's clean.

People have a ten percent risk of hospital infection each visit and I asked Mr. Cordola the CEO in the letter
what this means in terms of increased risk in the or and in an inpatient situation, no reponse. All they spend on advertising about how great they are, it jist doesn't add up.

Sincerely,
Robert E. Krause

These complaints are horrifying. And this is Memorial Hermann? Where do they rank hospital wise? Houston has Methodist Hospitals and there is St. Luke's and Texas Children's hospitals. I was recently told to insist on a Methodist Hospital if I cannot make it to Methodist Med Center. EMS took me to a Memorial and then was Flighted to Memorial Hermann Med center. I was having a stroke. I cry every time I think of the 6 days I was there.

Complaint against Memorial Hermann Hospital in Pearland. At the request of my physician I was asked to go to emergency because of my pneumonia. After waiting for 8 hours, no one would see me. Just received my bill for $3148. Medicare paid some and Blue Cross paid some. I questioned the bill with both of them; I think this is fraud. When the doctor refuses to see you, why should you pay anything? People who were not paying anything got in, why not the paying customers. Tried complaining to the hospital was a joke. Our medical system is deplorable. Memorial Hermann Hospital in Pearland is a joke.

I took my husband to Memorial Hermann because he had fallen on a metal grid and broke his nose, hit his head and his ribs were hurting. When we came to the emergency room, they stuck him in a wheelchair with no arms in the waiting room. I had to explain numerous times that he was about to fall out of the chair. They kept insisting they had no rooms available. It was only when I said that we should call an ambulance and get him to a hospital who could take care of him, that a room became available. When he needed to urinate the orderly stood OUTSIDE of his room. I explained repeatedly that he was unable to stand on his own and needed help to urinate. I asked the nurse to help, she said there was nothing that she could do if he fell. I had to insist on asking her to please call an orderly to help. When he was finally discharged, he was left in a wheelchair outside the discharge office. I finally wheeled him outside myself and not knowing how to operate the lock on the wheelchair, he almost fell off the curb into the street.

I don't care how understaffed an emergency room is, I do think a patients safety should mean more to the hospital. They certainly do have enough signs about asking for help instead of falling. But that doesn't mean you will get any help. In the 6 hours that we were in the emergency room, I experienced extreme negligence and recklessness. The attending nurse rolled her eyes at my every request. My husband who wasn't lucid, was given discharge directions on how to care for his broken nose while I was out of the room. He didn't remember being told anything. I certainly will not be returning there for any emergency. It doesn't matter how close I am to the hospital at the time of the emergency. I will certainly take my business some place else!

Im From Louisiana. I was reffered to a Dr There at Memorial Hermann for what seemed to be an Insulinoma. I traveled there to see the Dr and he suggested I be admitted right away to the ER. I wanted to be admitted because I felt so bad. I felt like I was dieing. BUT, I have a 6yo and bills and family to say bye to incase I dont make it out of the hospital. So I asked the Dr if I could come back and be admiteed. He sure sure. He gave me a special paper with instructions. He said to give this to the ER administartion when you come back. They will call me and we will get you admitted. After I took care of personal business back in Louisiana I went back to Memorial Hermann and straight to the ER with my mom who drove me there. It took us 9 hours to get there. But I was ready to be admitted. I arrived and showed the personnel my paper that the Dr gave me. She told me to sit down and wait. It was very late. Scary. People were rushing in to the ER with knife injuries from what seemed attempted murder. I was freaking out due to my condition. This seemed like a bad dream. They eventually asked me to go to an ER room. They asked questions. I explained why I was there and asked them call my Dr so I can get admitted. They told me straight up that they wouldnt even call the Dr much less admit me because they didnt have any blood tests done to tell the Dr what was wrong with me. I explained that I dont need tests. The Dr will know what to do. They totally denied me any service unless I allowed them to draw blood and do a few simple tests. I told them the test they were going to do would show no useful results toward my condition. They ignored me. Several hours later they said my tests were normal. REALLY? Duh! They said no need to call the Dr you can go. I told then Hell no! Im sick. Deadly Sick! I can possible have cancer of my pancrease. Soon Ill be too weak to walk from high insilin and pass out again! They ignored me. I insisted on them calling my Dr. So, they said they would. Later they came back to me saying the Dr will not admit me because my tests were normal. They basically forced me to leave. I called the Dr office before I left. I wanted to make sure someone called the Dr. The answering service answered and took my message. I told them to tell the Dr to call the ER and admit me. I waited. Eventually the answering Service called back and said the Dr called the Er but didnt imply what the Dr told the ER. I refused to leave until I had some sort of anwer as to why this Dr told me to come all the way from Louisiana to this Hospital to be admitted and NOT admit me ! I was forced to leave. Later I ended up in the ER for the same reason in my local Hospital. Im still struggling from the same symptoms. But did get some answers. The bill for Memorial Hermann came in. Even though I was FORCED to do blood work and got NO help, I was charged almost $2000. Most of it was paid by my insurance. My portion was just under $200. They demanded I pay! I completely denied ANY obligation to this bill due to there lack of help. I was not admitted and they offered no benefit to my situation. I have recorded several conversations with the customer service reps that would call me and also the Dr Office that was suppose to have me admitted to the ER. In the recordings you can hear the Dr employees and the Hospital employees both agree that the bill seems bogus. But noone wants to do anything about it except make a note! I even sent the Hospital a cd of these conversations to let them hear what the Dr Office said. They ignored it. They call and insist I pay or they will ruin my credit and ruin my reputation and an honest bill payer. I will not pay a dime to them. I have traveled far and went through hell. ANd all they can do for me is take notes? Well, I am posting this and will be also posting the Audio conversations ON YouTube and other places. If they feel the need to ruin my reputation for no good reason, I will do the same to them. Corporate America can push me, but this time I will push back.

Last night I took my son to Memorial Hermann Katy ER with a pain in his lungs. He had been coughing for a week while on prescribed cough medication. We were sent home because they did not consider that an emergency even though he was in constant pain. I was told to continue giving him the cough medication that had been prescribed by his doctor and if that didn't work to give him something over the counter. Today, I took him to his Doctor turns out he has walking pneumonia. The nurse didn't even bother sending a Doctor to see him or give him an X-Ray.

Memorial Hermann Health System money weight more than life

My insurance has a $1, 000 deductable. I need an Ultra Sound with a Diagnosic Code of 789.00 and nothing else. Memorial Hermann Systems will not provide me the cost of the Ultra Sound until they get my insurance information and will not take my insurance information over the phone. They did when I made my appointment, but, not at the department where they could easily allow me to know the cost ahead of time. When life and money are in the balance, money weighs more.

I agree. I've had problems with this hospital here in Katy, tx where they low-balled me on the price of some x-rays saying the cost would be 263.00. I talked to them over the phone, and in person the day of my appointment. They had all my info there including insurance and still quoted me 263.00. I even asked what it would be w/o insurance and they gave me a quote of approximately 171.00 in writing. Well about 3 weeks afterward, I get a billing notice from Blue Cross that they tried to bill for over $1500.00 and was approved by Blue Cross for $1201.00. I went ballistic. I am now in talks with Memorial Hermann Katy about the charge and am currently filing a fraud complaint with Blue Cross. When I called Memorial Hermann, they claim I own the balance 900.00 plus dollars because that's what Blue Cross allows. They never told me the total amount, only that the cost was 263.00.

In the past, I was always told what the total amount would be, but not in this case. I was misled and deceived on this transaction. If I had know the full price which they have in the past disclosed, I would have paid the lower uninsured price out of pocket.

I will get satisfaction! This will not stand!

Memorial Hermann Health System biased director

Sonia the great director has no clue how unfavorable work environment she has created in the Southeast lab due to her biased nature. Favoring her ### lickers that she has imported from her ex work place is not helping any of the staffs here in the lab. She needs to treat everyone in the lab in the same manner or sooner or later she is for sure going to have to call her ex boss to see if they can squeeze her back in. Use your sixth sense Sonia before it's too late.

Memorial Hermann Health System negligence

We were taken to the hospital after a car accident and my 7 year old daughter that has Celebral Palsey was taken due to her kneee pain and when she got to the hospital they did a CT scan but no X-rays so they discharged us saying that she is ok, A week passed and her pain never went away so we took her to west Houston Hostpital and they advised me that she has two broken femurs and that she might need on operation and they then sent us to Texas Children's Hospital. They did advise me that the accident caused this fracture and that to me was negligence from Memorial's part.
