You are making a big mistake going with medihelp
I got an account from the dentist i visited who said i had not yet paid. i spoke to Medihelp and they advised me they were still in the process of paying the account. Everymonth i got the same account to say i had not paid. By the 3rd month i was furious. Phoned medihelp again and they asked me to fax the account through to their accounts, which i did. Then the fourth month i got the account again. By this time i was furious and phoned again. They said they couldn't find the fax and that i must send it again which i did. This went on monthly. Yesterday i got an sms to say my account has been handed over! You can imagine how furious I am right now. I phoned them again and they assured me it would be sorted out but now i am already listed as a bad payer. I urge all out their to consider other medical aid options as you are making a big mistake going with medihelp!
I think that there add should be banned saying that they are the best
I am very unhappy with medihelp, they claim to be one of the best, well, they ***, really, my mom and dad have been with them for 30 years, and now when my mom needs a knee replacement because she has alot of pain in her knee, they just shrug and say that it is not on her option, my dad is a pensioner, and can't aford the higher options, I think that there add should be banned saying that they are the best.

My husband lost his job end of April 2018. We have to make a decisition either to pay the medical aid this month or the rent on our home. I then cancelled the medical aid - not to make a payment for June 2018. Just received a mail that we have to pay for June. Were must I get the money of I am now the only breadwinner of the family. Sometimes there are merits to a case. Do I have to get a police affidavit to proof that my husband do not have a job now. This is unhuman and very cruel. We live in times that things happens and believe me I also don't like it. What are going to do. Black list me / hand me over...Then with what money must I pay you then? Come on have a heart and give this case some merits please.
Medihelp is certainly the biggest medical help scam I have ever contributed to.
For years I have saved my medical money and payed my day to day doctor and medicine out of my savings. Getting older we, My wife and I, decided to get a Medical aid ...Medihelp was stupidly chosen and the R5000-00 a month contribution started with a book full of exclusions which we excepted due to our age and my wife's medical history...
After contributing 8 months + I developed a serious dental problem and after having a few broken tooth removed on my own account my dentist suggested that we remove all the inflammatory teeth and go for dentures... The dentist made up a quote accompanied with X rays we asked permission from Medihelp to continue...
Then I get a probable payment back from Denise ? who ever they are... stating every procedures possible medical payment which was less than 50% of the original dentist quote and I accepted ..The procedures was done and I paid my Dentist in full... and then claimed the part back which their bed partner Denise said can be paid... I made the huge mistake not giving attention to the fine print stating that on their discretion they will pay "IF THERE IS FUNDS IN MY SAVINGS ACCOUNT" Dear Lord... R 180-00 of my R 5000-00 per month is going into that savings account that is R 1440-00 at that stage and my claim was R 9000-00 of the R 24 000-00 I have paid...My question: Who is Denise to decide and what is happening to my R 40 000-00 contributed over the period to Medihelp...The Medihelp scam is clear to me ... Steal peoples money for a year or two and force them by not payment of claims to drop medihelp and pocket the +/- R [protected] from 50 000 unhappy customers who have left and Medisteal walk away with an easy R 75 Million ... Nice and easy money from old people...and they get away with that because they employed very expensive Lawyers with our money to fight the case if we go that far... They know we can not afford that...
