MediaVentLtd / Being charged for free membership

1 United States Review updated:

Being charged for a free membership does not seem right. I have contacted my Bank who seems very unhelpful. I am considering of closing my bank (I do not want to go down this road unless there is no other way). I have copied reply from bank for your information. Thank you for your e-mail requesting the cancellation of Mediavent Limited regular payment.

This particular transaction is a ' continuous authority payment'. Unfortunately you will need to contact the company direct in order to cancel the claim. I would recommend you cancel the payment via email or letter. If you have given the company sufficient time to action your request and they re-claim at a later date, please send a copy of the cancellation request to Alliance & Leicester (address listed below) and we will take up the matter for you.

I went on the Internet and was interested in opening a free account with Mediavent Limited. Over the past 3 to 4 months I have been charged for a membership that was meant to be free. I am not the only person who is being charged for this free service. Please can you put a stop to this charge being made to my account. Otherwise I have no alternative but to close my account with you and go else where. Please note: I have contacted you before and you have replied that you can not help me.

The truth; this was unauthorized and my account was NOT to be charged! Please see many hundreds of victims reports that were filed on

One person wrote: I canceled within the free trial period and even got a cancellation email but i am still being billed. What makes it worse is the bank i am with wont put a stop on it so it seems even big corporations want to screw you over as well.

Please return reply buy return, as I do not want to loose any more money!!!

I recentley started getting charged like 38.00$ a month by this company. The only site I traced it back to was a porn site where you have to enter the card for a "free trial". Of course the small print says if you do not cancel with in the trial period, you are charged for the month automatically. Watch out!! One site is

PAY-MEDIAVENT have also been hitting my account for over a year without my knowledge or permission. I'm now trying to get my bank to claw back the money, but no-one can or will do anything positive.
