This dealer advertises low prices on the internet website. When you make an offer they ask you to come to the dealership to finalize the deal. At that point they tell you the internet price was meant to represent delaer cost and not an actual sale price... Yet clearly the ads say "internet price" and want you to pay 2-3k more.

Now obviously I wont deal with someone that unscrupulous, but I am encouraging anyone who reads this to be aware that this dealership reinforces the worst stereotypes of car dealers. I can provide you pictures documenting my experience if you want.

If you experienced something similar I encourage you to file a complaint with the ag office as even if nothing is done initially a volume of complaints will eventually lead to action.

Mcgee cars currently has 38 such complaints on the boston better business bureau website and each additional one will lead to a lower grade.

I had the exact same experience yesterday (regarding the false advertising). I will be filing complaints with the AG, BBB and dealrater.com.

I had virtually the same experience of false advertising as the others here. I can't understand why the AG's office hasn't shut them down.

www.dealerrater.com put your comments here regarding mcgee toyota and you will definitely be making an impact. I put my comment there today and the manager has contacted me via dealerrater three times to try to get the rating taken off or changed from negative. have to give him credit for trying but it can't be fixed now.

They had a car newly listed on autotrader.com and called them yesterday on it told them I would be there first thing this morning, gave them my number, etc. I made the long trip there, found out they sold it last night and didn't even bother to call me. Of course, after looking at the price online and reading the above comments they would have screwed me or tried to anyway. DO NOT BUY FROM MAGEE TOYOTA OF HANOVER. NOT TRUSTWORTHY.

I had a similar experience with McGee Toyota. All these comments verify what I felt about the dealership. I should have just walked away when they renigged on the quoted price, unfortunately, because I needed a car immediately, I paid the inflated price. I hope others will learn from my mistake.

I wish I would have done my research on this place first and saved the 50 mile roundtrip. Had a bad feeling right away. The sticker on the car didn't seem to be matching up well in regard to the options the car actually had. After determining that this was in fact the car we had seen on the advertisement (cars.com) and the correct price we took the car out. Got back and first question we got was about financing (we thought the price was already set). The salesman was pissed that we would use our own bank, with a lower rate than they offered, over "a few dollars".
Next came the manager to explain the price was actually$3500 more. He explained that they did not do the advertising, some unknown entity did (apparently out of the kindness of their heart-the advertising fairy), and they had no control over what price they advertised. Said the price we saw was the price the dealer paid for the car and that they could not possibly sell it for so low, but of course they "could work with me".
A yelling and swearing match ensued between me and the salesperson. We walked while the manager tried to talk us into staying.
I initially felt bad because my wife like the car, but from reading the above it seems it would have only gotten worse if we had stayed. These people give all car salesmen a bad name, which is a shame because we have come across some honest, hard-working salesman while shopping.

I have recently had the displeasure of doing buisness with this fraudulent dealership! Soemthing needs to be done, and soon, if anyone is still availabel and feel that they were scammed, mistreated, victim to fraudelent practices, I have seeked the advice of an attorney . If there can be a group of people 4 or more, we can attempt class action suit against Mcgee and put them in their place once and for all.. My email adress if interested is mellarose1985@yahoo.com

Went in on the advertised internet price, double checked with TWO people, the internet sales guy and the salesman.
Went in, checked the vin and stock number and it agreed with the internet numbers. I had a PRINTED out copy of the internet ad and price, salesman AGREED with price. Took car for test drive, came back prepared to buy with CASH and the price DOUBLES...
Sales manager comes over and says the internet price reflects a trade or $4500 down payment. I walk out thinking I somehow missed it. Go back home, check their internet site and NOWHERE does it say it. I have THREE other people check, and they don't see it.
Classic bait and switch...Beware...

Liars...Bold faced, unrepentant liars...Called 3 times on the internet price..$6500... asked price when I got there $6500.
Had us drive car. Then with credit card in hand the price went to $10, 100. I flipped and walked out.

Don't give up. It's not too late. GAP insurance can be cancelled anytime, it is optional. They don't want you to know that because they take a huge hit on the comission. If you paid more than the advertised price, simply go to Google and search your 17 digit VIN#. In the results from Mcgee and autotrader.com, click "cached". It will show your vehicle's advertised price and date. Print it (and save it to file) so you will have it ready for your small claims hearing. The autotrader site does not have their disclaimer.

I really wish I had seen this before I bought a car there! we got royaly Scr*wed. We were told 3 times the price we were paying was the internet price, but we actually paid 10, 000. over the Advertised price! Then They never gave us our contract {because we had to wait till they did all the registering ect.} {stupid} They somehow got lost between the registry and our house. Then to add to the misery. They opened a Toyota vise Charge without our knowledge and charged 7200 dollars {for a deposit they said} After I already gave them a 1800 $ deposit! Oh it gets better... The The guy {Tom Hyland} Beware! Added on Lojack, Extended warrenty, and Gap ins. all with out even asking. We went there several time and to no avail. They more or less said too bad you signed the papers! So We are heading to the lawerys ... Anyone else Have Tom Hyland as a salesman? I would really like get all the complaints together and go to the Att. General

I totally agree. I ended up paying almost $3500.00 more for the vehicle because they said I HAD to get the extended warranty and gap insurance becuase my credit wasn't great. They lied to me and took advantage of me. I will NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone. STAY AWAY FROM MCGEE TOYOTA IN HANOVER! RIP OFF!
