Three weeks ago went to dealership bought a car. Treated bad almost as thought they did not want us to buy the car.We detected a little racism but, we proceeded to buy the Chevy Avalanche. We purchased the car with a large lump sum down payment over $5000 and then it was discovered to be a salvaged title car. Went back to see Mr Mike we had title problems. Three weeks later and the title was not corrected. Next, the insurance company canceled the insurance because my wife does not drive but was on the insurance as a driver due to the fact that they said she has to be covered on the insurance as a driver because she was part owner. We were never contacted by Mrs. Michelle and they proceeded to call the wrong number and reposed the car three weeks later. We insured the car with another company when we found out they refused to return the vehicle after owning the car for only three weeks they refused to give back the down payment of over $5000 and the payments that were made on time. We felt badly treated from the start. Had not had a good feeling about this car deal but in good faith continued to work with them. Now case is in court. Also looking for anyone else who has been ripped off by this dealership to contact us.

Horrible! Avoid this place If I could go on Television I would... They took my car away for not having insurance on it for two weeks. I was at State farm getting car insurance and the sales man Denise sent me a text we just took your car. I had just called them in the morning I was going to fax them the info. I called them because they took all my stuff in the car. I went to their office and they were asking me for two car payments which I was not behind, the repo fee all above 1, 000 dollars. I had this car for almost two years with insurance and just those two weeks without insurance they took my car away. They told me I need to pay in ten days the money I told them I'm not gonna have that money in ten days. I don't even make that in a week. They didn't care so I had to leave without a car. I asked them where is the policy that I signed where it says I'll take your car for no insurance in two weeks. They don't care they had no sympathy nothing. Denis said you know what you have to do to get your car back. And he acted stupid like he didn't know what was going on why they took my car he was the one I spoke to when I faxed the insurance and he's the one that texted me when I called he answered that he took the car and when I got there he said he was clueless and wouldn't show his face.

While looking online for a used car for my daughter (17yrs old), I happened to click on their website. It appears they have nice cars, but knowing as much about cars as I do, it's clear some of you don't. WHY WOULD YOU ATTEMPT TO BUY A CAR/TRUCK WITH A SALVAGE TITLE?
YOU get what you DESERVE...this place is selling cars, they have to eat too. DO NOT buy a car, especially if you don't know diddly-squat about mechanics, take it somewhere to have it inspected FIRST.

My name is Jennifer and I purchased a 2008 Dodge Charger from McFerrin Motors and it was the best car buying experience ever! They always worked with me on how i wanted to pay my payments, the car i bought was not a salvaged title and it was the best running car i have ever purchased. The salesman were really nice and all the ladies in the office were extremly nice as well! I recently made a huge mistake by trading in my car i got from McFerrin at a different carlot and the car i got has been in the shop 98% of the time! I have never experienced any issues with Mc Ferrin actually i am thinking about going back if this car doesnt work out, to be honest I should have went back to McFerrin in the first place!

I have purchased a car from McFerrin motors and was hoping to do so again.
When I searched McFerrin Motors on Google, this review came up. I am appalled by the author's claims. I went to Humble to a different dealership originally, but on my way, I stumbled upon McFerrin Motors. The dealer was very polite, albeit my Hispanic origin. After going to all the dealerships in Humble, I purchased a 2007 Cadillac CTS at a beautiful price. It had a salvaged title and a 30-day warranty from the dealership. Everything went smoothly and I have recommended the dealership to many of my friends.

I bought a truck from Mcferrin 3 years ago and I have been very pleased with them. They were honest and fair! They have also been more than willing to work with me. I have had a few late payments but as long as I have communicated with them they have always worked with me.
I will be going back to buy a vehicle from Mcferrin!

I think the statute of limitations for filing a Deceptive Trade Practices lawsuit is 2 years, so don't delay calling an attorney - see above post. Much luck and be blessed.

I have done business with McFerrin Motors and find them to be one of the absolutely worst companies that I've ever done business with. I have observed the way they treat minorities and it causes me to cringe inside. I'm only writing this because I believe that evil prevails when good people do nothing (say nothing.) Also, it is NOT reasonable or accurate to assume that a used car lot would only sell salvaged vehicles; that is completely ludicrous. All persons doing business with McFerrin Motors please beware and be aware that there is a consumer law "Deceptive Trade Practices Act" that may award you 3times your damages and allows for attorney's fees. Do not let this company continue to get away with this because they will continue to behave in the same way again and again. The number for Houston Lawyer Referral is [protected]. Most of the time you get to speak with any attorney free to low cost the first time and may be able to work out contingency plan with no money out of pocket at all. It's legal to tape conversations in Texas and a small, hideaway recorder is less than $60. Document every lie they utter just like I have. If you need witnesses, I may be able to provide you with a list of other customers who have had the same or similar experiences. Take responsibility for your life; and don't let other people shame you because you trusted a company to follow the law, act reputably and treat you fairly - you DID NOT deserve for them to abuse your trust and break the law. That is what the McFerrin's of the world are counting on, so that their evil will prevail.

I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS

I love McFerrin Motors, They have been nothing but NICE to us everytime I go in to make a payment, everyone is so friendly. Me and my husband are buying a Toyota Tacoma and even tho its been wrecked and totaled, they told us UP FRONT about the title, but i'm telling you, you can not tell it has ever been in a wreck by just looking at it. It's an amazing truck. I would recommend McFerrin Motors to everyone, they have really nice vehicles, I mean i don't think your going to find as nice vehicles at an IN HOUSE financing lot, as you do at McFerrin Motors.

I just want to say that if it is a USED CAR LOT then chances are they have been wrecked or water damage or repoed, or traded in. HELLO PEOPLE they aren't new if you want something new go to a NEW car lot dealer ship. So what if its been in a small finder binder, Mine drives PERFECT. It has been totaled and I love it.

I will also be buying my next vehicle very soon from McFerrin Motors. They will always have my business and who ever else i can send their way.

My husband and I purchased a suburban in 2007. From the moment we walked in to the months after the car was paid off, we have had superior customer service. At no time were we treated unfairly. This is a family owned business and we feel that they are part of our family. If we could not pay on time, all we had to do was call them. Communication works wonders. They worked with us and not against us. Mike, Pat, Michelle, ...all of them were very kind. From the time you walk in the door, you are greeted, happily. I cannot believe these people are complaining about such a wonderful company. Perhaps it was the customer that made the situation so difficult and not the dealer. They will always have my business.

The person writing this complaint has provided an affidavit stating as follows:

1. "I did not, as I stated in the complaint, place the "case . . . in court." I did not receive racist treatment. And I have settled, out-of-court, with McFerrin Motors as to the title issue."

2. "My issues with McFerrin Motors were quickly resolved to my absolute satisfaction."

A copy of this affidavit is available upon written request to McFerrin Motors.

I as well as many family members have purchased numerous cars from McFerrin Motors. I have a hard time believing anything bad about them. My family and I have been loyal customers since 1991. The men that work there have always been very upfront about any type of previous damage to each and every car or truck we have ever looked at or bought. The main salesman I have dealt with is the Pat that has been spoken about and put him very high up on the scale of a true honest man. I have always been treated with respect and like family when I go in for any reason. If you think you were "scammed" in anyway by anyone that works there I don't believe it. Sorry. Next time you go buy a car hopefully you know the right questions to ask and have an easier time. Take your business and complaints somewhere else because I truely do not believe it. I will always buy any vehicle from them and refer anyone looking for a vehicle to McFerrin Motors.

never told my car was salvaged

I have also purchased a car from them . The first car I was shown was nice until I was told it had a salvaged title. I quickly stepped away from the car and explained I wanted no part of any car with a salvaged title. He then (pat) showed me another car. This car being a 2008 model. I flat out asked if it had a salvaged title and was told this car's title was NOT salvaged. I drove the car but returned the next day. At the point before signing papers I again asked him to assure this cars title was NOT salvaged. He proceeded to walk to the back room to make sure it was not salvaged. He returned and assured me again the title would not be salvaged. I expressed many times how I was not interested in a salvaged title car. After purchasing the car I had many problems with the back tires going bald at a fast rate. I noticed chips in the paint. I took the car into a shop where they lifted it on rack and told me the car shows signs of damage and looks to have been in a wreck. I never received a "leinholders title" on this car as I have with any other car Ive purchased. They still assure me this car is clean and has a good title even though i have not seen it and have been told otherwise. I have put almost 10k into this vehicle and looks like im stuck with it. After reading these reviews I ran across im now even more convinced I was scammed into buying a car that im sure has a salvaged title. What can I do now but pay for it and learn not to ever purchase a car from these guys or refer them to anyone. They seemed so nice at the time of purchase but seems to me they are buying salvaged cars cheap and selling them under false info. If I had been told from the start that this cars title was salvage I would not have even considered buying it. I understand some comments above they were satisfied because they were told it was salvage from the beginning and did not have a problem with it. In my case I was never told and repeatedly asked. I have wrecked a car and had it repaired and the title was changed to salvage. I got rid of that car shortly after because it never drove the same again. This is why I wold never want to pay 16k for a car with a salvage title! Id have taken my business elsewhere because I wouldn't have even considered buying this car if I had known the truth. I feel what they did was very deceptive and as a single parent with a limited income I wonder how they live with themselves knowing they lie just to make a buck, a buck that I work very hard for. This is why car salesmen have a bad name.

We have not had ANY problems with McFerrin Motors. My wife & I bought a pick-up from them in 2002 with a salvaged title and were told UP FRONT that it was a salvaged title and why. They stood behind any little problem that we had (replace radio, running rough). Both parents have bought vehicles from them with no problem. We have even sold back a vehicle to them after a couple of years. They have always been very helpful and up front with us and more than willing to fix anything that goes wrong. It sounds to me like that the first person complaining didn't take any responsibility for his purchase and needed someone to lead him through rather than do his own homework before purchasing. I've seen ALL races at the McFerrin lot at different times and can't imagine that they show any racism there---at least we've not seen it. We WOULD and probably WILL purchase from them again.

Wow. I am SO glad that I came by this website. I am in the market for a new car, I had driven passed McFerrin on my way to the airport and decided to research it online. I put "McFerrin Motors reviews" into the Google search engine and this was one of the first links to come up. ANY company that is okay with talking to customers with that kind of hostility and disrespect, regardless of who is right/who is wrong, WILL NOT be receiving my business. How SCARY.

Your full of crap...

We have a signed notice that you signed at the time of purchase that you knew it was a salvage title, and where ok with that!

Also you never came in to see "Mr Mike" as you put it.

We are in NO way races!

If you have a case in court that’s news to us!

You failed to maintain insurance on a vehicle you had financed, that’s the bottom line! If you had wrecked the car it would have been us holding the note to a wrecked car!
