McDonald's - sweet and sour sauce

My daughter and I went through the drive thru and ordered chicken nuggets and fries and a ice cream cone. I got to the window and was handed the bag and told the ice cream cone would be right up. I then had to ask for sweet and sour sauce for the nuggets, because the employees failed to ask what kind of sauce if any i wanted. I was then handed one...

McDonald's very poor service and lack of codiments

Whilst visiting your outlet in th Walmart Store in Moose Jaw on August 8 2009 at 12.00 noon I encountered a very annoying situation. I ordered A Mighty Caesar Salad that you now promoting.
On entering the store we were not greeted other that " Yes". No smiles - nothing. When I received the order for my husband and myself I had to ask for the salad dressing. I was told they had no croutons. I asked for vinegar for my husband fries. "We don't have any" No apology, nothing but "Next."
My order # 38221. I would like a reply to my e-mail PLEASE.
THANK YOU

Pam Fulcher

McDonald's terriable service

Ive been to this Mcdonalds alot because its not to far from my house and I have a problem everytime I go. I try to say to myself maybe it will be different this time and it never is. I went to the Mcdonalds on 52nd and wadsworth in denver co at 11:00 August 9. They told me they stop serving breakfest which was not a problem. So I order a Mcdouble no onions small fry and small water. I got my food at 11:10 and of coarse like always they put onions on my burger, I was thinking they should know me by now as many times they have put onions on my burger when I always ask not to. So i gave her my burger back and told the cashier I didnt want onions on my burger. She said ok and I waited, waited, and waited, finally a customer said to me you was here way before me how did I get my food before you. I said good question I ordered at 11:00 and it is now 11:30 the customer asked where is the manager and complained for me. I said I want my money back im not even hungry anymore. Guess what she told me Im sorry I didnt see you there I gave your burger away. Thanks to store number 15661 in Arvada Co 5235 Wadsworth blvd for almost killing me everytime I order food from them because Im allergic to onions. There customer service has never been good either I will take this up with someone higher up.

McDonald's hygeine

My mom and I were in McDonalds and while we waited for our order we watched a hispanic lady in the back sweeping the floor with gloves on then she proceeded to bend over and pick the garbage up off the floor which her cleanliness was wonderful but then when an order came in with the SAME GLOVES she went on to make hamburgers filling orders one after another without even hesitating to change gloves or wash her hands! Maybe this will help you eat that double burger next time you go through the drive thru...

This 'EileenRocks' goes around to every comment she can and harasses people.. cyber bullying is right. Just because it's 'online' doesn't make it any more 'safe..' what evil there is in the world, as if it's not enough to get scammed by all these companies, then there's 'people' like her, if you can call that 'people.' But I'm not going to waste any more time with that..

McDonald's Brainless employees

McDonald's, Hwy 19 & 41, Jonesboro, GA has incompetent (brainless) employees. They took my order, took my money and refused to give me the food (they said they were out of salads), I told them that a substitute would be fine and they couldn't even provide a hamburger. After explaining that my order had not been correctly filled to at least four different employees and waiting for 45 minutes, I demanded that the manager give me my money back. A lot of wasted time and no food ! They are rude and incompetent. Needless to say I will not purchase food at this McDonald's again! This happened on June 25, 2008 at 9:15 p.m., Jonesboro, GA.

Yes there are rude and incompetent employees. I work for MCDONALD'S in Galveston. I am older 63, I was taught the old way back in the day! Customer service and being right. I think for all the customers who try to rip off a hamburger there are a million people who are very nice and honest. But I have seen management treat even our police as thief's . I was told to be careful of the officers because they try to come in on shift change and pretend they didn't eat once already! What bun ck. They also treat customers like convects and DEMAND a receipt over even a small fry. Where I work everyone tries to blame everyone else for their screw ups. I thought it was only where I work. I also am having problems because I am white and older and poor. I have to work! I feel that all of this behavior is only with places where management tends to bully. I have only one bully boss, alas I am always stuck with her!

McDonald's kids meals

Is anyone else as tired as I am of going to McDonalds to get the kids Happy Meals with the New toys and are always told they are out and they get something from 2 months ago? This is getting old. I say lets file a Class Action suit. To me, this a a bait and switch scheme. They know how many Happy Meals are sold @ every store. And they still have none? Whay do you say?

OK.Bait and switch was used as generally speaking. The price of the toy is figured in with the cost of the meal. The complaint is they are always out. This has happened several times not just once.I have spoken to alot of other people and it is the same thing. No parent or GrandParent likes the disappointment look on their childrens' faces. They (McDonalds) can do better, after all they are McDonalds.

McDonald's poor service and bad attitude

six of us went in to mcdonalds and placed our order the place was a little busy but really not that bad, any way the order line was a lot shorter than the waiting line all of my group received there food and sat down i then waited about ten minutes still not to get my food, mean while about six to seven other people received there food that had plainly placed ther order after i did, than other customer came in and ordered received there food first and brought it to the manager attention with on avail, now everyone in my group is done eatting the manager checked my ticket three seperate times and continued to fill other orders by now i wasn't very happy so i asked if i was going to get my food or not he totally ignored me would not converse or even try to solve the problem at hand when i asked him what he thought about it he contioued to ignore me till i finally asked for my money back he proceeded to do this with out any eye contact or communacation with an experience like this i belive you problably will do just fine with out our business and any one else we can tell, or maybe you can handle this problem, this took place in beaver bay mn. 9:30 am saterday august first. the manager was very aware of the whole ordeal and is the one who was primarly involved. By the time i recieved my money back there was no one in line for anything.

McDonald's awful service

So it was around 4:30am and myself and some coworkers decided to stop at the local McDonalds for some food before their flight. We went through the drive thru and were told that there was no meat ready. This a 24 hour McDonalds. After hearing this we decided to just head to the airport. So on my way back I stopped there again figuring everything was good to go by then. This time I decided to go inside. It was a little after 5:30 and I went to open one of the doors only to find out that it was still locked. The time listed was 5am, so it should have been opened. I looked inside to see if anyone was around and saw 4 McDonalds employees sitting at a table talking. I knocked on the door and pointed to the sign hanging listing the time. One of the people inside pointed towards to me and they all began to laugh. I felt so stupid. I decided to go through the drive thru and try that way. I ordered my food and drove to the last window. I paid and told the cashier that maybe next time they should post a sign out front if they aren't going to be opening on the time listed on the sign. I was very polite about it too. Her response was "Whatever Sir, have a nice day!" That was it. Turns out she was actually the manager too. Now how sad is that? Later that day I contacted a number found on the McDonalds site under customer service. I called and explain what happened, the lady I talked to sounded as if she could have cared less. I then asked her for the corporate number only to be told that she was unable to disclose that information. That made no sense whatsoever. So I just told her my contact info and asked for someone to call me back.

I got a call the following day from the owner of the McDonalds, obviously it was privately owned. Right off the bat he was apologizing for my bad experience and hold that he wouldn't be loosing my business. He then attempted offer me coupons/discounts if I came back to them. I automatically told him 'NO'. I stated that I wasn't looking for freebies, I just wanted him to know what had happened. He let me know that he was planning on having a meeting at that McDonalds the next day and he would find out what was going on with the employees. So I never got a response back or anything, so who knows what happened. Probably nothing.

Nonniemouse, it was morning, MY HUSBAND (who I was speaking for) and the coworkers were there for BREAKFAST! Not dinner and hamburgers, the breakfast meat sandwiches, obviously you've never purchased anything breakfast related at McDonalds! And just for your info this McDonalds opens at 5am, that's what it said on the sign out front. As for it being a 24/7 open, not sure where you're located but most of the McDonalds around us are open all the time, the drive thru that is.

McDonald's not enough time

I have submitted a complaint on not enough ice a McDonalds That we went to regularly. This complaint that i have is also about getting extra ice, although this McDonalds ALWAYS gives me extra ice, we ordered extra ice one day and pulled up to the pick-up window to pick up our drinks. When we were handed our drinks right away you could tell it was not extra ice, so my boyfriend asked them if they could put more ice in the cups for us. To our surprise we were told to PULL UP TO THE WAITING AREA FOR ICE! Pull up for ice?!?!? And they wern't busy! I thought it was outrageaus that were were told to pull up for the ice, since when does it take more than 5 seconds to add ice to a drink. I have had my orders wrong A LOT at this and many other McDonalds, but the sheer reason that it was something as simple as ice is what really makes me mad. i just feel, if you don't want to do your job then quit, there are many other people out there who need a job and would probly do a better job.

McDonalds has this habit of putting ALOT of ice in their drinks. I regularly purchase the Large Sweet Tea from them because I happen to like it and its only a buck. The first few times I didnt realize that there was a ton of ice in the cup. The cup is supposedly a 32oz cup. But, just recently I happen to fill that 32oz cup with a 16.9oz bottle of water using the remaining ice from the sweet tea I just finished. How is that possible? Why so much ice? Their cups have two lines on them so the individual filling the cup knows where the ice should be. Most times, the top line is where the ice is filled up to.. that line is far above half the cup. The second line is about 1.5inches from the top line. Still, too much ice. I have now decided that I will purchase my drinks without ice and then ask for a small cup of ice to accompany my drink. Also, I have noticed that they use machines to fill the cups now. Therefore, the machine is automatically set to OVERFILL the cups with ice. We are being ripped off so bad its crazy!

If McDonalds gets your order "wrong a lot" and they won't give you your precious cup of ice, why the hell do you keep GOING THERE? I bet you enjoy harassing people who aren't allowed to talk back to you, it's probably part of your daily routine and you look forward to it. If right now all you can manage to ### about is how McDonalds has started a conspiracy against you and your "sweet tea with extra extra ice" then consider yourself lucky. Meanwhile, leave this board to people who might actually have a REAL complaint...

I would have to say you are the oddball. The majority of complaints about ice is too much. I hate a watered down drink and so do millions of others. If you want extra ice then go somewhere you can serve your own drink. You get the cup and fill it with whatever you want. Don't make it so the rest of us have to drink half water/half whatever.

McDonald's not enough ice

My family and I visit this paticular McDonald at least once a week. We went on the 20th of July, and ordered a sweet tea (which we ALWAYS order). I always order my sweet tea with extra, extra ice, because normally its warm, and the normal amount of ice is melted before you leave the parking lot. Well, this day, I ordered my normal sweet tea with extra, extra ice and then pulled up to pick it up. Upon recieving my sweet tea, as usual, the ice was already almost melted, so I asked for more ice. The employee told me that they are not allowed to give out extra ice! WHAT, not allowed to give out extra ice!
I know the economy is bad but come on, no ice! I think it is ridiculus that I am a good customer and they wouldn't give me ice! Anyway, my family and I WILL NOT be going to that McDonalds again. There is another McDonalds a little farthur away from us, but I am going to drive the extra 1 and 1/2 miles to the other McDonalds where they do not some absurd ice rule.

McDonald's structure of coffee cup

I have visited your establishment since it opened in St. Catharines with my son and now my grandsons. I enjoy a good cup of coffee. I currently suffer from Parkinsons Disease. I have experienced two incidents recently wherein coffee has oozed out the spout of the newly constructedcoffee cup and scalded me. The insulated cup does a wonderful job of keeping the coffee hot and easy to handle, however, the coffee cup lid contains a pop up bubble on the rim that is suppose to make the coffee accessible. I have yet to get that pop up bubble in place without the coffee spilling over on me. It does not fit properly thus coffee spills all over. I felt compelled to write to your company and suggest that someone study the makeup of the cup in the hope that the cup structure can be improved and I don't have to worry about burning myself when I indulge my coffee cravings. Thank you for hearing me out, Sincerely,
Betty Chambers

McDonald's kristy moloney

I had heard alot about racists people but havent seen any until I went to this mcdonalds in edmonton located at oliver square... If you ever get a chance go there and ask to meet the manager also called kristy moloney... Have no idea what her race is and what is wrong with her but the time she started work most of the old people have left most of them said that they were abused by her, didnt got the respect that they deserved and had to work more that 8 hours just so that she can go home early to her boyfriend. Are employee rights more important that anything else?... Even if you call the complaint office they wont reply to your call or even answer it if you have had a complaint before. And their head office near the west edmonton mall wouldnt allow you in if they dont know who you are... What would you do if you went to the place and were abused by a racist... Just to get an experience do visit her at mcdonalds oliver square hope you wont be disappointed

I was just wondering how one of your stores can be labeled a 24 hour store with the signage on the building and yet be all closed up by midnight or one o'clock with the garbage cans in the drive through when I go by it every night since the store was open and I am in the area anyways for work, I've seen lots of other people have to back out of the drive through because of them been closed the store in question is on tamarack way in Edmonton alberta it is possibly be a franchise don't know for sure I just thought you would like to know about it. I just dropped by the mcdonald's at oliver square june 29 around 10pm and i was so disappointed that the crew just spilled my juice and accidentally dunked his hand on it and didn't even bother changing it. Our order doesn't have a napkins, ketchup and straw. YOU GOTTA TEACH YOUR STAFF NOT TO RUSH THINGS CAUSE COSTUMERS ARE COSTUMERS.

Well we went to the McDonald's at 16725 Stony plain Rd in Edmonton AB this is not the first time they have messed up our orders we are allergic to onions so every time we order we say NO ONIONS they put no onions on the receipt but still put the onions on the burgers. I talked to the manager of the store on Oct 8 20114 and explained the issue he said come in. Well when the wife went in with the receipt prove that they messed up the manager gave my wife attitude. Telling her if you have so many problems with our store why do you keep coming back here. And many other things to boot. What customer service there they do not care if you are allergic to things or not I personally am not ending it here I will fight this right to the end it is our money that is being spent on this food.. How dare them put customers through this if I do not get a call back asap or i do not get any good feedback from these owners it will go further i refused to be ripped off by these people this manger better not be employed as a manger they have NO SKILL FOR CUSTOMERS maybe it's time for them to be treated like they treat us and see how they like it. Like i said this is not the first time like this it has been many times.

I have been eating at McDonald’s for many years now and have never encountered such poor service. I am writing you this letter to inform you of this lack of hygiene.

I went to eat burger at Mac Donald's at Great India Place Noida, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, 29th March 2012 at around 6:00 to 6:30 PM.

I ordered one Mac spicy chicken, i french fry & one small coke.
I ate the entire stuff & sipped the entire coke.

To my utter dismay, after sipping the coke, i was trying to look at the ice cubes left inside, it was shocking to see a dead insect similar to cockroach was lying over the ice cubes.

I felt so bad to see the insect inside, it was so unhealthy even if you feel, that you sip/finish the drink, then you get to see the dead cockroach, had i not opened the cover of the glass, i would have never come to know about it.

I spoke to the manager & wrote a complaint(my name can be matched from the complaint letter)to take a strong action against the hygiene department if any, this was the first time when i gave such a feedback to any of the outlet /product i have been to.

I do not know, whether it would progress to the right members or not, as i even did not take the receipt number /photo to keep that as an evidence.

I asked the manager's name, whose name was Rishabh as told, he assured me that i will get a call/email with in a week from his manager about the worst experience.

I am hoping that i will get a call, i doubt they might manipulate my written complaint or might tear the paper itself, that is why i intend to let people know here, also they should see the items before even tasting it, i lost my trust over Mac Donald's, especially for this outlet.

It will be a while before I will attempt to eat at your location again. I hope you will be able to resolve these lack-of-hygiene issues, so others will not have to go through the frustration and disappointment I had to endure

I am lucky that i have not fallen ill till now & able to write this.
I urge you to take strong action & let me know the proceedings.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!

The staff at this location is darn rude with you they don't listen to you
when you are trying to tell them your order. They constantly screw up your orders. The customer service is just horrible at this location and the staff give you nothing but attitude! Then when you complain to the head office in Toronto it takes them 23 days for them to respond to your complaint and then the person that calls you up gives you more attitude and nothing but excuses as for the reason why it took them 23 days to respond to you and for the problems at the store. This really shows how little McDonald's head office really cares about customer service. I faxed a complaint over to the head office and no one even cared enough to respond to it till 23 days later. The fax was sent to [protected]. Funny I sent the complaint to Toronto and I get a phone call from [protected] from a woman who identified herself as being from McDonald's this is a Vancouver phone number.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Toronto: [protected]
Fax: [protected]

Here are their other offices too.

Toronto: [protected]
Vancouver: [protected]
Montreal: [protected]

Then this woman I spoke to from Vancouver just gave me more attitude and when I asked to speak to her manager she tried transferring me to Toronto and then hung up on me. Ya real nice company this is. I will never go back to a McDonald's again! This has to be one of the WORST companies I have ever seen!

I personally have had at least 3 problems at this location. This store is horribly run with inept staff and absolutely clueless management it is the blind leading the blind at this location.

I used to work there, that's why I left, was because of her. The old manager, now he was a nice guy but when Kristy came in, that was the end of it. She wasn't very nice to me and I was a damn good worker. I'm glad she left. I remember a lot of my regulars. A lot of them left because of her. I hope she reads this because maybe she might know who I am!

Kristy is not the one with the problem, it is that skinny white boy manager. Braydon or brandon or something. Go there when he is working and listen to they way he talks to the workers there. I hear him yelling at the employees, and they say nothing. He is rude, arroggent, and he even eats and drinks on the floor. I go to McDonald's often it is close to where I work. Something needs to be done about him because it is apparant he gets away with everything he keeps doing it. One of those workers needs to stand up and go higher up. The employees there don't seem to be taking any action, and I don't understand how they can work with him. They always seem so miserable when he works, and its just a horrible place to go. Why cant they do anything about him?

She has favoritism down to an art. If you are female, you are on her good side. If she likes you, you work the 9-5, if not, you get the graveyard. Leave a shift after you 8 hours of slavery, but have a small duty left unfinshed, beware her wrath... while she thinks a graveyard shift is 11 PM to 3 AM... and the work she does not accomplish because she leaves 4 hours early can be done in the morning by the next manager... but do not do this to her, or you get a 0 of 4 on your review... which makes other managers cranky, and therefore our shifts with these other managers are not too pleasant...

To whom ever wrote this. I am a good friend of Kristy's and you are obviously an angry ex employee who didn't get their way in some small situation who left in a rant. I have worked with Kristy before and am proud to have worked in her patch. I used to work for Oliver Sqaure before being transferred and she is a great person. As someone who works on the salary management team for Edmonton, I understand some people tend to take the way they are managed at a business and take it personally. You have to have people number 1 on your mind correct. But as managers we have to run those businesses and find a balance. And how dare you throw in her face that she wants to leave on time, those of us who are on salary go into working for free past 8 hours and are constantly on call, we do have families and friends and lives. Do you choose to go home when your off? We do as well. Lazy workers who are forced to work, usually find something to accuse the manager of to offset their lazyness. Ie, racism, gender discrimination, age, things like that. If she were to call you a racial slur and bander you to fellow managers or employees, that would be one thing, but what did she "actually" do? I would like to know, as she is not racist and I believe that with you accusing her of it and not putting a reason, that you might in fact be the rascist one, and because she is white, she is a scapegoat for that accusation. Perhaps you should take a look at yourself before you throw stones in a glass house. How embarrasing.

Dear !belay;

I wish that you would repost and give some more details.

You are right, in that some people feel hard done by, and abused there. Most people unfortunately never complain.

I have also heard about people leaving because of Kristy. Now this might be less to do with Kristy, and more to do with the previous manager who (I have heard was really nice).

When people are treated well, they stay and in time wages go up; In my experience with McDonalds, this is something that McDonalds tries to avoid by various methods. Think of it like this, why would you want an expensive employee, when a new one is cheaper, after all, it is only McDonalds, it is cheap, who goes there for the quality?

Yes in time, this attitude leads to a place where people don't care, and only the youngest, most desperate or laziest (Me), people work, churning out over the years a less and less desirable product. Which means that the company must search harder and harder for those poor souls who are desperate enough to stay there; well, only until something better comes along.

(for now)

As for Kristy, she doesn't seem to get close to people. when she builds confidence in herself and opens up a bit, she will probably develop into one of those managers that people want to work hard for; and once she overcomes her shyness, she will be one of the good ones. Unfortunately this is also when she will probably be snapped up by a company with a bit more "heart".

McDonald's overcharged at mcd's drivethru

The last weekend or so in April of this year, I pulled through the drive thru of my corner McDonalds and ordered a Quarter Pounder meal. The sign said 3.79. I paid, got the receipt, it totalled to 3.99 + tax. The drink was broken out separately. That's standard practice now, the breaking out of the drink price.

I pulled through and asked about being overcharged. The guy got the manager, who stood and argued with me for a couple of minutes, patted his pockets down like I was taking his money, told me he puts the prices up so it couldn't have been wrong, told me it was the tax (I pointed out the tax). Finally gave me a quarter and a hot apple pie.

I didn't want the pie. I wanted an apology for being overcharged and treated like an idiot. I wanted sincerity. I most certainly did NOT want to be treated like I was in the wrong.

Round two.

One month later I try the same McD's, this time for breakfast, thinking maybe that manager had trained his shift to overcharge. I have no idea how the registers work. I'm since told they just push buttons and prices come up. Same thing happens with a breakfast meal. Overcharged 20 cents.

I was meeting a friend to walk and didn't have time to argue with a manager, so I came home and emailed McDonald's, explaining all that happened. I thought it odd that a store seemed to consistently, intentionally charge an extra 20 cents per meal. Who gets that money? The next morning, early, I got a phone call from a supervisor about my email. She was vague. No apologies. Abrupt. Glad she could satisfy me. Except she hadn't satisfied me and I said so. She said she'd send me some coupons. Why? To eat someplace I'm never going to again?

Last week I got a letter from a regional person. A form letter. It's very generic. I emailed McD's again and told them I wasn't pleased, that I would never eat there again, then blogged about it. Almost immediately I received an email from the local supervisor to this effect:

Dated July 8 -
I am writing in regard to your concerns about the previous price issues at
our location at 91st & Memorial. I have tried to reach you by phone but was
unable to do so. First, let me apologize for the impression I left during
our first conversation. I certainly did not intend to come across as vague
or unapologetic. I researched the original complaint about prices on the
menu board being different from what the receipt shows you were charged. I
found that the price for the Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddle was incorrect
on the menu board. I asked the Restaurant Manager to correct the menu board
immediately. Unfortunately, with the large number of items we offer, we can
miss something in posting pricing. At this time I am not sure what action
you expected from our first conversation or what action you are looking for
now. Based on the information provided I felt that we did resolve the price
issue. We place a lot of importance on the feedback we receive from our
customers. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to contact us in
the first place and look forward to discussing this issue with you again.
Please contact me at the number below or on my cell number, 918-6 (I'm really tempted to leave her cell number intact).
Liz B*******
General Manager
Mar-B McDonald's

That was certainly genuinely caring and apologetic. Not. Same tone as the phone call. I responded with the following and never heard back:

Thank you for your response. This happened not only with a dinner menu, but a month later with a breakfast menu, which is what you're addressing here. The earlier event was a Quarter Pounder meal. Unfortunately I didn't have time to address it with breakfast, as I was running late to meet someone. Also unfortunately, the manager treated me like an idiot the first time I addressed it.

Your response to me was simply acknowledgement that I was unhappy with the situation. Not much more or less. I wasn't necessarily angry, but definitely unsatisfied with my treatment as a human being. I was unhappy with our conversation and feeling as though I got the brush off, as though you simply wanted me off the phone, as though I was a nuisance.

I will no longer eat at McDonalds. I know that you said on the phone that you'd send me coupons (which you didn't - I got a form letter from someone in Texas), but I don't want coupons I won't use.

You say that you're not sure what action I was looking for. I am simply looking for an apology for being treated like I was at fault, as well as an apology for being overcharged. Not excuses. If the manager had apologized and refunded the difference immediately the first time, I would have let everything go. It's not about money. It's about customer service.

**********************************
This isn't about the money. The supervisor sent me two coupons for free sandwiches, which I gave away. And then blogged about the entire thing again.

I have never worked for, or been a fan of McDonalds, but on behalf of their staff, I apologize for this person. His post is unreadable, and he rambles.

His response the he, "will no longer eat at McDonalds, " is a blessing to ANY restaurant within 50 (just my personal distance) miles.

McDonald's I had to pay 1.51 for a 1.11 soda.

I walk in. I go to wash my hands as a young lady gets in line. She was quite attractive yet, none-the less, I was there for my new 'Mushroom Angus Swiss Burger' trial. As I return from the restroom 'cleansed' and prepared to eat, I notice the manager is not only trying to impress this lady, but, he tries to flip her cup in the air and catch-it in the air- & behind his back. I know a very important rule in business is to be professional, as I am currently in a business course at my college, Full Sail University. On his attempt to catch the cup he fumbles and was not able to perform what I would call a 'street stunt' unsuitable for the manager in charge of different ages as well as diversities. To me this was very childish. The line with me was being held up. Well, the lady seemed to be un-impressed then walked on. I noticed her husband/boyfriend/ or possible business contact met her, and their conversation started over some papers. I saw the insignificance in trying to impress someone who was not 'waiting for a show'. I place my order for the new burger and complimentary water. I noticed the staff looked un-attentive. 'Dominique', the Manager, is still trying to dance his way through orders, and it is not going very well. He once again fumbled, now with my Mushroom Angus Swiss burger. When someone is trying to dance there way through work I acknowledge when it is not going well so my plans had switched. I now wanted a soda. I ask the lady of his same descent ' Can I just get a coke'. She calls him over. "Dominique, the man needs a coke", she says. She was present and capable to take my order, but passed it off, so he returns. "All I need is a coke", I say. I give him a dollar and twenty-five cents for a soda that rings up as $1.11. He asks me, "Do you have a penny"? So I say, “I feel that is my choice", but, "here". He asks, “Do you have another quarter?” I figured what he is doing was maybe I had the price wrong, because I could not see the screen. It was not lit. He throws the $1.25, the penny, and the extra quarter in his drawer, shuts the drawer, turns his back, and walks away. There is no lesson in becoming a thief. I then blatantly saw the one dollar and eleven cent receipt. I thought to myself, ‘hey, your a thief'. There was no point in this other than intimidation so I say while both employees have there back turn to me and performing no tasks, "here I'll just put all my change in the charity". I put over two dollars in the charity to over-substantiate his ruling on the soda. This is not the first time I have caught attitude from this guy. I'm left as a man with no change and everything to gain. That is not the type of business I want to see in the town I have lived through adolescence into adulthood. I caught a bit racial profiling as I turned the corner and the two, a middle-aged female Co-worker, and Dominique, that afternoons Manager on duty, let out a hardy laugh. Where is the service? Where is my respect? He can't even see around the corner to see how much of a fool he played himself in front of I, and the lady which he originally tried to impress whom had official matters with another. I do not like to be taken from, and then laughed at behind the corner when he can't see there is another world not in concern with his impressions or impersonations. Thus my complaint is to say that I know this isn't the first one, and if it is, isn't charity to the youth of the generations more then enough for me to not hold a grudge, but 40 cents is a very viable enough argument to act upon when it is blatantly taken before my very eyes?
The reason I say there was racial profiling is because I am of Norwegian descent. The lady in line was just as blonde and fair someone of a Swedish descent. So two African-Americans hailing a prejudice barrier against someone like me, being a student under a world-renowned writer and reverend makes no sense. Why would he try to impress the lady more fair skinned then me? It's strange what we can do to misuse or authority, but it makes no sense. When I've got everything to gain and nothing to prove, even 40 cents, after him asking for more over the one cent exchange rate to avoid pennies, is just thievery. For him to take my change like I owe it to him for his performance is ridiculing and judge-mental. How did he know I didn't need that? What makes me so rich over my descent? If so much more went to charity, which seem to un-phase him, (probably because they have the key for that, too) then this has become a distraught complaint, and shouldn't be the first one. I caught this guy trying hand my father food over me when we stood, dressed the same, look alike, and my Father had just paid for my order. He would not hand me the tray that day as if he could possibly ever come between My Father and I. This guy knew exactly what he was doing, and as in his little performance, he says to the lady, "I'm a little off". Well if there was managing here then it would show and if there was growth and prosperity in the business, I wouldn't have to place a complaint. What is there to prove to someone who has nothing to prove? I do hope there is more justice in this complaint department then something complimentary. Once charity is involved, it's too late to apologize it's paid for and the spirit has it covered!

I had a situation like this once where a cashier tried to tell me I gave her a one dollar bill but I gave her a five dollar bill. A good thing to do is to demand that the manager does a drawer count right there and then. Since it will hold up the line, usually you are given your money back.

I did this with the cashier, and the manager did a drawer check and gave me back my four dollars. I know fifty cents seems like a little amount, but Dominique will not be so quick to short change someone again if he knows this can happen.

I'd guess it depends on what channel you are watching. I'm in Canada and we speak english, however, depending on the channel we get programming in a number of different languages.

I don't see anything insulting about having different languages airing on certain channels - if you don't want a different language, don't watch that channel. What's insulting is thinking that english is the only language that's acceptable, considering the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people in the US (and Canada) who actually do speak other languages as well as english.

I'm not particularly delighted that we have two official languages here, but if I don't want ads or programming in french, I don't watch the channels that air them.

McDonald's refusal of service

Visited IKEA today and stopped into McDonalds for a bite to eat afterwards only to have my order refused. Coming from the London - Windsor area, a very popular order is a Double Cheeseburger dressed like a Mac, in London and Windsor they have special wrapping and a register button devoted to this order. When I attemtped to order this very item in Burlington both the clerk and the manager looked at me like I had asked for the world on a gold platter.

It was explained to me that not a single restuarant in Burlington would serve me this order since I would be "ripping off the restaurant" and that I need to order a full Big Mac meal and that there was no difference other then an extra piece of bread. When I calmly responded that it is that very piece of bread I do not want and this order is very common since my college days back to 2003 and that I was willing to pay the extra 39 cents to have my cheeseburger dressed differently; I received no apology when I was told "I can't do that for you, I'll give you a package of Mac sauce." Instead of offering another meal or product or accepting my offer to pay extra for this simple service, the manager reiterated that she can not allow her customers to rip off and steal from her restuarant.

Frankly, since we were a group of 4, she lost 4 potential customers over something so simple like ketchup vs thousand island dressing. We all left without ordering and felt very displaced. In today's economy if you have customers walking into your place of business ready to hand money over to get something they want, you should be willing to accomodate your customer in any way, thanking them for spending their hard earned money with you during these tough times. We and our money were flatly turned away and we went down the road to Wendy's who was happy to tailor any order for any one; and took our money with a smile and a thank you.

When I attempted to tell McDonalds about this service refusal and the annoyance of inconsistent restuarant offering, I was further surprised to see that McDonald's Canada doesn't want to hear from their customers, offering no email address or contact form for their customers. As a multi billion dollar company, wouldn't you want to hear from your customers in real time, at their convienence. In this economy, aren't your customers everything, their loyalty and the value they see in your product - I'm pretty sure thats all thats going to get a business through this economic turndown - but hey, since a little bit of Mac sauce is going to make the company tight this fiscal, I guess I"ll continue eating elsewhere until McDonalds changes their tune about wanting my money.

MacDonald's Burlington, King & Plains.
This has got to be the worst franchise in History, They complain to you when the food order is wrong. Their management is VERY poorly trained and have absolutely no concept of customer service.

WoW. You sound like a [censored]. Please don't lecture me about the economy while you are on vacation. I WILL NOT get on my hands and knees and serve you just because you're waving four whole dollars in my direction.

Maybe they just didn't know what the hell you were talking about, which I'm sure is the case. I was going to give you the benefit of the doubt and calmly explain they probably had no idea what you meant, as even I had to read it a few times in order to gather that you wanted a burger without an extra piece of bread.

However, after reading your whole letter, I feel justified in calling you a ###. I cannot believe you wanted to write a letter to the McDonald's corporation about this! Do you have that much time on your hands? Some of us have to work you know...

Anyway, since McDonald's is franchised, you should know that the menu is NOT the same everywhere. It even says in the commercials "offer not available at all locations". Gawd.

McDonald's numerous

The first issue - is the dipping sauces for chicken products. I would like all McDonald's employee's to make up their minds as to whether they are going to charge you extra or give them away. There isn't any sign that says they charge (at the drive thru). Last night I went thru the drive thru and I ordered the new angus meal, and 2 crispy chicken, honey mustard snack wraps for my daughter, and I asked for one sweet and sour and one honey mustard and she said that will be 20 cents for each, and I said, I ordered the chicken snack wraps, she said its only for chicken nugget meals. I told her that they need to make up their minds, and either give the things away or charge and to stop doing it different every time. The next time I go, I will take 2 large tupperware containers and fill them up with both sauces, and maybe one for the ketchup too. I think it is unfair that you have to pay for sauces in the drive thru and not inside. AND, as I said, I ordered one of the new ridiculously delicious angus burger meals, and it was one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had. 1, it was not cooked done, 2, it was cold, 3, the cheese was on the wrapper and not on the sandwich, 4, the onions smelled like they had been cut days ago, 5, it was dry and chewy. I will not ever order one again. For the price they charge you would think it would be better. Interestingly enough, I was at the Wal-Mart in Georgetown, DE and bought a box of angus burgers, 6 to the box for $6 even and they were the best, no comparison to the horrible angus burger at McD's. ALSO, as I was waiting for my order last nite I asked the woman if the fry's were fresh, she said just pulling them out now. She lied. they were limp, brown and cold. GROSS. Think I will just stick with the walmart frozen angus burgers from now on. You know, you would think that after being in business for as long as they have, that they could have gotten it together by now. What's next for McD's - charging for each package of salt/pepper, ketchup, napkins and straws. HAHAHA

hahah honestly this is totally your fault for going to a McDonalds... If you hate it so much don't come back.. But people like you come there everyday anyway... And that $3.99 pays the employees who make $7.25 if they are lucky and put up with your bull every day... Give them a break... Yes they can come off rude.. but when you have horrible supervisers, a stressed management team... and a growing list of problems you'd be rude too... If you wanna complain... complain about the people who run these places... not the ones who work there...

from a former employeee...

McDonald's discriminating against employees

The General Manager at this store punishes employees when they ask for time off. If an employee requests a day off, she will not schedule them to work for weeks at a time.

Recently an employee at this store had a family emergency and needed to fly out of state for a funeral. After returning from the funeral, this employee was not put on the schedule for two months because the General Manager told her that she was unreliable.

This is a bad place to work and they do not treat the employees well.

I am an EMPLOYEE OF MaCDONALDS IN MANHATTAN 1499 3RD AVENUE STORE NUMBER 2814. THIS IS A unfair and bias store P to work. However .my self and one other black american are the only employes of this store and i am treated so different than the other co-workers and i know its because of my race. The Manager accused me a stealing $10 from out of another cashier register because she was unable to account for the money. When i tried discussing the situation with the supervisor she stated i will get back to you she never did. If im sick and call out for any reason i am removed from a three or four day schedule to a two day schedule If i put in a month a head for a day off it is not honored.I was hired as a full time time employee when i applied for this job. Many other employees work on a weekly three or four day shift. There has been managers here who direct bias remarks to me and pretend like they are playing. when i speak up for myself. what can i do about this situation i will not leave because i have been working here for over 1 year.If i am schedule to clock in for 9am and i arrive at 8;30 they will make me wait until 9;30 so why ask me to work for 9am or the managers will say oh you have to wait until i have a chance to sign you in.by than again i am losing money.

McDonald's not clean, and playland needs repairs

I often patronize mc donalds of batesville (at least once a week). I have a 9 yr old son which would explain as to why I am there so often. So we can safely say that I have visited there 52 times within the last year and I am very familiar with this establishment. During the last year I have watched this resturant go down hill — fast. The playland is suppose to have video games in it, they have been broken and not repaired for over 6 months. Numerous times (too many to keep count) I have been in the restrooms and they are nasty. Rings in the bottom of the toilet, wast paper in the floor and I honestly don't believe the employees that are in charge of cleaning knows the meaning of disinfectant cleaners-the odor and appearance can tell all!
I am honestly not a person who complains about much at all. I have worked with the public a lot, I understand how difficult it is to keep things in order and clean all the time. This is over the top though - I don't expect the same nasty toilet ring to stay in the toilet from one week to the next. I also expect that if I am going to spend at least $10.00 every time I visit this resturant because my son wants to play in playland that the toys should be in working order at least half of the time that I am there.

If you need to discuss anything with me I am very willing to help in any way possible.
Sorry had I known I could attach pictures I would've taken some for you.

It all goes through the system with such places as McDonalds. Unless there is a hazard to customers, the company is not going to go to every store that's becoming 'run down' as you say and fix things. Maintenance is not available every five seconds for companies and such things as video games aren't on top of the priority list.

Understandably, the bathroom situation is disgusting. I've been in ones that are like that too but unless you're the first person in there that morning, you can't say they didn't do the right job.

Cleaners usually clean in the morning and at night for fast food restaurants. You're a mother, I assume you know how hard it is to clean toilets completely clean, let alone if you have a lot of company for days on end. They are trying their best, at least the places I now go to (which is very rare, by the way, any fast food restaurant is disgustingly unhealthy) are at least clean.
