On or about June 21, I stopped and got my daughter a Happy Meal from Mcdonald on Skibo/Morganton in Fayetteville, NC. After driving for a few minutes. I told my child to give me the milk so I can open it. She had already drunk the majority of the milk. I asked how did she open it, she said it was open. I then stopped to check and there was not a seal on the milk at all. I said a prayer over her and waited to see if anything happened. By 1 or 2 am she was vomitting everywhere, consistently. I took her to the doctor, who agree that she had been food poisoned. I contacted Mcdonald and was told the manager was in a meeting and then hung up on. I went to the store. I talked to a supervisor who seemed like the only person to care. She went to get the manager and was sent out with a number to give me. I told her that was not good enough and I wanted to speak to the manager. The manager finally came out and I realized when I pulled up, the manager was standing outside laughing and giggling with a person outside. She didn't want to tell me who the owner was or be helpful. I finally got a phone number out of her to corporate. I proceeded to call corporate and was basically ignored for a two weeks after speaking to Jorge who seem all too concerned. NOT. on July 27th after sending my daughter doctor papers 2 wks prior, I was offered free food for my inconveniences at any McDonalds in North Carolina. What kind of compensation is this? Who's going to compensate me for my daughters pain and suffering, for my doctor visit, for the daycare time that I still had to pay for even though my child was home sick, for the time I took off work due to this situation, and for the rude service from the majority of McDonalds workers. If I had went in that store and was treated like I was someone, then I would have settled for some coupons and reimbursement of doctor bills. McDonald's need to work on their people skills. Have anyone else been food poisoned by mcDonalds and treated like it was nothing?

...Parting Note: I ended having SALMONELLA D (comes from uncooked chicken) and now the Dr.'s are saying that it may take up to a year for my immune system to recover and that I may NEVER have the energy level or the stamina that I once had. Its been almost 2 months and I can go out and walk around or be active for 2.5-3.0 hrs and then I have to rest or take a nap... this really sucks. I feel like I am 80 yrs, so yes I AM SICK of being SICK!

Sick and Tired of Being Tired...,
Last but not LEAST... You may wonder why my username is a little odd.
Well food poisoning or Salmonella Cases really make me unsettled, here's why: Oct 1st I worked all day as a professional landscaper, (approx.13 hrs.) I was a normal fit and healthy 38 yr old business owner of a profitable small company in Southeast Georgia (the same state that OKwenv) well to speed the story up after working all day I realized that I was not going to make it home in time for dinner. I did what millions of people do I decided to get some fast food and head home. I stopped at a local McDonald's and ordered a Value Meal w/ Coke... it turned out to not be a value at all. I proceeded home and started eating the meal, here's the thing I was dipping the nuggets in the dipping sauce just like 93% of people that order them. This would have been approximately 9:30 so I get home and start wind down and catch up on the normal daily thing (with 3 kids and a wife). we enjoyed some family time and went through the normal nightly routine. Went bed around 11:30 pm, an hour or so later I started to get very ill, stomach cramps and nausea.

Instead of giving you a play by play let me finish it by saying this...That use a Saturday, by Monday I was in the Hospital... from the ER I was moved to ICU (not joking) there I was monitored around the clock... I had severe dehydration, my stomach liner was bleeding, there was blood in my vomit and my stool... Oh yeah I was diagnosed as having STAGE THREE (3) RENAL FAILURE... Full blown Kidney failure. I spent a week in the Hospital (full week) and when I got out I was not allowed (or able) to return to work for approx. 30-45 days... I was Septic, I could not go out without my cute little breathing mask... Now its November. Not really a whole lot Better GLAD TO BE ALIVE but not much better. I suffered 37% Permanent Kidney Damage to both Kidneys, and I will have to take medications a couple times a day for the rest of my life.

So to those out there that have been through something similar... please feel free to comment or post your story. I can promise you that I plan to continue to post mine.

Thank you for reading.

First, I would like to address the person that posted the comment under the username: OKwenv...
There is some "mis-information" in your post, for example if you are eating "chicken meat" no matter if it is a McNugget or if it is a Batter Dipped Chicken Sandwich you can not as a consumer tell the difference in Fully cooked chicken and partially cooked chicken... for one the ingredients that fast food companies use to produce the actual chick part or pieces themselves somewhat change the color and texture of of the meat... also companies like McDonald's for example using a type of bleaching agent to "whiten" the meat even before it is cooked it appears to be very white (just like cooked chicken). So no its not buyer beware, not at all! People go to restaurants to get a fast but safe meal... You are tying to tell everyone that we should first tear every nugget or sandwich apart prior to eating it? That is total NON-SENSE. (...for example, lets say for a moment that you have a a child? Ok... and you decide to take that child to the fair while its in your town, with your theory of buyer beware and "this could have been avoided. You take your child on the ferris wheel... you with me so far? So according to your mentality you are going to inspect the entire ride? question the operator? and look to see if everyone's safety equipment operates properly? NO You went to a safe and fun atmosphere to enjoy time with your kid, so now the bad part the ferris wheel malfunctions and your kid is KILLED... :( well buyer beware, you bought the hand stamp to get into the fair and the ticket for the ride... but your responsible for the loss of an innocent life? NO

Never tell someone something so silly as your at fault or this could have been avoided if they would no trusted the restaurant and finished the process of serving the food by inspecting each and every piece... thats why people go out to eat, so not to have to cook, not to have to do dishes, and most importantly to buy food from a safe and friendly environment. It's not like this went to some guys on the corner cooking over an unclean burning barrel? She bought this meal from a PROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT... that dropped the by and was NEGLIGENT.

My mother has been in the hospital the last 4 days from severe food poisoning (and lucky to still be alive) from a Swiss Mushroom Burger at Mcdonald's. I do not know if she plans to complain, but told her she needs to make them aware of it as too many kids eat there. I'm totally disgusted with them. I know my daughter will NEVER eat there again!

While a lot of people are poisoned through no fault of their own by fast food places, this one could have been easily prevented. Unless the food was directly given to your child, which is doubtful, you handled the food/bag containing the food first. If you did not inspect it before handing it off then I am sorry, caveat emptor, let the buyer beware.

Yes, in fact, I got food poisoned by them too. I'm not a big eater, since I order 6-10 piece chicken Mcnugget meals with a medium sprite. One day I was eating my nuggets, and after a good sleep, I woke up, rolled on my side for 10 seconds, and vomited like crazy! It was a good thing my brother was there with a towel to clean it up, a glass of water, and a cold rag for my forehead. To EVERYONE out there! If I didn't have my brother and I was a normal 4-5 year old eating a happy meal and got sick like this, I WOULDVE DIED FROM LACK OF WATER D':

I would look for another job if you can. It sounds like a miserable place to work now. I think being a jerk is a prerequisite to being a manager. Since they reduced your hours, can you collect unemployment since you used to be a full time worker? You may be able to collect a bit for the hours she removed from you - I dunno but its worth looking into.

How is an apology not good enough? What more can they offer you? Free food? Refund? No, because then you don't really care about the principle, you care about getting something for nothing. Greedy.

You make me laugh...security guards in a mcdonalds...Come on...seriously they don't police the customers unless they get violent...maybe you have said something to the mother of the child instead of blaming Mcdonalds lack of security

Irish! I could not get over your analogy of this complaint, it almost appeared at first, you were Beth. After looking through more or less 30 of your 140+ comments I noticed you side with the company the person complains about. I will bet 98% of the time you side with the company that is complained about. You are negative, insufferable and discourteous to say the least. You filed a complaint saying you were accused of stealing a VCR accidentally!? You want people to believe you!? You have an ID of IRISH. I know there are black irish, never the less, I never seen an African American that is IRISH. Is this a game to you, or do you have a problem?

Most of your comments have thumbs down. I also have noticed Trevor also follows your comments.

I was compelled to comment on IRISH. I would not doubt if there is a complaint on IRISH

You do not need to go there - that is why this country is great - you have choices! What you may find horrible, others may find very enjoyable. Go somewhere else and complain.

i work at mcdonalds and one thing that company fails to do is to tell us if we need to put certain things in a bag, so we can only put ketchup or almonds in a bag if costumer asks, last time i got yelled at bc i put ketchup in a bag for costumer even though he didnt ask

This afternoon after school i took my kids (7yrs old & 5yrs old) to Mc Donalds SM CEBU City PHILIPPINES. My 5 yrs old son order a Happy Meal as I was preparing his food I asked him if he can go to the counter to get a gravy refill. So he went to the counter and ask, but then he came back to me and he was crying he said he hit his foot so I said its ok. So I diverted his attention playing with his new Happy Meal Toy. When we were about to leave he told me he could not walk because his foot hurts, I thought he was just making drama. When I look at his foot (the one his complaining that he got hurt) it was bleeding. So I called the Manager and told her what happened and showed her where my son get his cut. She did not react or say anything, I even asked her for a 1st aid kit she called her staff to get if and did not even said sorry. I was really pissed off my son was wearing flip flops that its hard for him to walk at the mall, specially our car was parked at the other side of the Mall Building. I had to carry my 5yrs old boy all the way to the car.
How lame was that! I just hope that the Mc Donalds will do something about it! You should make sure your structures are well placed and secure enough that you cannot hurt anybody specially children.

I knew it! I was at McDonald's and I saw a young woman scratch her lower back and you could see her scratching inside her knickers and then she handled my chips (fries) I told her to scrap them and that I was not coming back. It was 2 years and I still haven't gone!

I understand that you are upset about that, it sucks having your order messed up and getting all the way home before you realize it. You called and hoped that maybe you could get it replaced, because they genuinely effed your food up. But they have a policy forbidding that - because not everyone that calls in complaining about a messed up order actually had one, a lot of people call in "claiming" their food was messed up merely looking for a way to get free food. Obviously this had been a problem at that store otherwise they wouldn't have that policy.

always the same, all the time every time whenever i go to my local macdonalds on blackpole rd, worcester, uk. the milkshake machine is allways out of order, which is no exageration, and can't blame the staff although the manager or area manager or even people higher up should carry some responsability. As most people choose to go to macdonalds souly for having a milkshake. think this not acceptable, roll on kentucky fried chicken opening right by mac d's january.

Please call yourself lucky, some McDonalds charges 23 cents for one sauce, and in Germany they pay for their ketchup, I think I called myself very lucky somethings are still free. You must remember the suppliers prices are also went up, it is a small fraction but sauces are only given if you have chicken nuggets or strips

Sadly not all of the stores are like that, some actually try their hardest to serve you (service with a smile), being sworn at is a huge no under their own rules and regulations. You should pass it onto their head office and hopefully by next week they'll be looking for a alternative employer.

I work @ m.d, in louisiana! The customes can be a pain in the butt, and they are very rude. We have to be nice, and show respect. Drive through is for people who know what they want, we dont have time for "ughs, wait a sec. or i dont know yet" it holds up the line, then to top that off you want it fresh! So we do it and you complain because it's taking to long!We try our best to make everyone happy. If u dont like it, go to BK, AND meet the KING! I work in rayne, so it's accros the street! The one thing I hate about working there, is that the manergers have their people picked out! Yea! They are mesy ### hell. It's pretty bad too me. Md dont care about no one but them selfs! What about the employees? THEY ARE MESSY ###! I H8T TO WORK WIT 3 people b.c i cant put up wit all the mess that they say! But to me, our service is good, and sometimes do all we can to make out customers happy!

i agree with the paying for the dip .. mcdonalds is a big company and should offer free sauses... but i do not agree on the comment of 80% of the staff are uneducated.. that comment is untrue and uncalled for... just becasue they work at mcdonalds does not give you the right to abuse them,, the person who u delt with is just doing his job ok... but yes maybe he shouldnt of been so mean ok ...

Wow, aren't you overly literate over something as simple as a SALAD. 80%, 1/4, 1/8, size of a nickel. Food comes in different shapes and sizes every time you order it. Deal with it.
