McDonald's untrained / unsupervised staff

Hello to all my fellow fustrated customers,

I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old at home that just love McDonalds Chicken Nuggets.
At approx 12:00pm, on Thursday February 18, 2010. I experienced my worst encounter at a nyc McDonalds.
I had just made my $17.82 purchase at this McDonald Drive Through, when I noticed that the cashier had not
given me all of my change. When I asked for all of my change the cashier began to us profanity and call me names, all because I asked for the rest of my change which was $.18. I told this cashier that it did not matter the amount but the fact that it belonged to me rightfully and that I wanted it. The cashier then at this point went into his pants pocket and threw a case quarter at me through the window of my vehicle.Words were exchanged and that point I was told by this cashier to exit my vehicle so that he could "cut my Face". I then went into the McDonalds and asked for the manager and that all of my money to be refunded to me at once. I was told by another employee that this cashier was related to the manager which I found out is also the owner of this establishment. After all of what just happened the only thing that the manager/owner said was here is your change.

I had frequented this establishment for the past two years and never had any issues or complaints until today.
I would not enter this establishment ever again, and would not recommend that anyone else do the same.

As a restaurant manager at a McDonalds myself, I am with you 100%! This was just completely unacceptable. I am so sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. It sounds to me like a supervisor needs to do some serious stepping in. Make sure that next time you have an experience like that, you report it to the 800 number on the side of your cup/bag. It is a customer complaint number. Believe it or not, it does actually make it back to the store within 24 hours of your report. The restaurant manager is then required to call the person that made the complaint to make things right with you. At my store we are very good with follow up. I am sure there are stores out there that don't even look at them. I suppose it all depends on the district manager and how strict they are on making people follow the policies of the store.

McDonald's rude service

First my Wife, Son, and Me pulled up to the speaker and my wife began to order for my son. She said I need a 4 piece Nugget and a small spriet. She then began to say her order and The man with Glasses working the window young guy said the total before she could speak and pull to first window. She said sorry i am not done. I need a number 10 she said. And before i made my order he again said the total pull to window. No thats not it she said. I ordered a number 3 and he the made two totals and thats not how we wanted it. When we got to window my wife said that is all 1 order. He changed it. When we got our food, we got all of it but my sons small spriet. My wife said i need it and the african american lady working window said with a smart attitude you didnt order one. We complained and she told us to come in and speak to manager. We got a small frie unstead of small spriet. When speaking to the manager she was an older blond lady, She was on the phone in the lobby area. She was laughing and have a good confesation with someone on the phone when the Black lady interupted her so my wife could tell her what happen. She said let me call you back to the person on phone and turn to my wife and said what?! She told our story to her and she looked at her and said AND! Thats it? With a horrible attitude. She told the lady to get us our drink. They then took the food from us and ripped the bag in the process of taking the small frie out and gave us our drink and never once said sorry. This is why so many of our resturants in Knoxville are so crappy. If they dont like there job then quit cause with the economy the way it is lots would love there job.

what is a spriet, or a small frie unstead? Did you mean to say they had a condensation about you or that there was conversation on the windows of the restaurant? Sorry, it's all too hard to understand

McDonald's fake snack wrap

When you see a big mac snack it shows two pieces of meat that are the same size. When you buy one you get a snack wrap with one piece of meat. I sent one back and they cut the piece of meat into two pieces and handed it back to me and said they do not do two pieces of meat anymore. This has happened at more than one location and I will never get back there again. I asked for and received a refund.

McDonald's bad service and old fries

I like to think that I'm an easy going person, but it's disheartening to get such bad service from a company that I've had good experiences with in the past.

I went to the drive through, which wasn't busy, and tried to make my order. I was interupted several times while trying to place my order and what I did manage to get out had to be repeated at least twice.

All I ordered was a large fry and mcdouble plain. My friend ordered a number two. We asked that the two orders be placed in seperate bags. This order shouldn't have taken ten minutes.

After my order was placed, I recieved one bag. I reminded the employee that my friend and I wanted the orders seperated and he was very snapish and rude, practically throwing my friend's order into the seperate bag.

Okay, fine. Maybe he's had a rough day.

But, I open the bag and find my large fry is only half filled and the fries themselves were old and greasy. Looking at the mcdouble, it was shoddily constructed with the meat stacked sidways and the cheesy poking half out of the burger.

I parked and went in to ask them to replace the fries and I was accussed of eating the other half of the fries.

I don't expect to be treated like A REGISTERED NURSE WHO MAKES 100K A YEAR(!) but I'd like some courtesy.
So I guess I'll stick to cooking my own stuff.~

- Helouise

I had no idea that there were differences in service, depending on whether you walk in or not. Every customer deserves fresh food, no matter which way they order their food.

And if attitude is the key, then there shouldn't have been any issue. I'm always polite and courteous towards everyone.

I went to the McDonald's on Lovington highway to The 1st lane to place my order. Big mistake! The car in front of me was waiting and they didn't take his order until they did 4 orders from 2nd lane. Then I had to sit and wait for three cars being waited on in 2 nd before getting my order taken. Then had to repeat order several times.

I ordered 4 apple pies and they never told me that they are now making them different and no ads showing the change. I'm really hoping that they are not going to make this a regular thing because they had no flavor to them and hard to eat. Please bring back the other Apple Pies!

I also would like them to make fresher food that's hot and tasty, but it seems they just can't stand feeding their customers good food any more. It's bad enough that things are costing more, but the meat on burgers are shrinking in size on some of the value meals.

The fact that we go there they should appreciate, because otherwise they wouldn't have a job! They should make the food as if they are are making it for their bosses. We just want to be appreciated for helping your business to stay in business. I really think they need ( the big bosses.) to check out the service every couple of months by sending people from the public in and outside to place orders and see how their people are fixing and serving the food. Like the show Under Cover Boss!

If I make a purchase I dont use drive through.
Go inside and when you order as for freshly made fries.
I never have any problems with the staff when making that request.
Maybe attitude is the key.

McDonald's awful service

On the 14th JAn 09 I place an order with one of yr employees at Mcdonald Eastgate...He got the order wrong by giving me a milkshake instead of the coke with the Mac Meal...I then explained to him that he got the order incorrect as I had ordered a Mac Meal and to milkshake and I did not ask him to swap the coke for a milkshake...he became rude, irate and disrespectful..."saying that I should have opened my mouth and so"... he continued being ruse so I asked to speak to his Manager/Supervisor. Carmaine ( Supervisor) came out and I explained the entire situation to her. He continued being rude and disrespectful in front of her, she could stop him. Customer service lacks in your Eastgate branch and please try to change it.

been getting terrible service with no concern from managers or employees who all have an uncaring attitude toward customers, seems all they want to do is socialize amongst themselves or pretend nobody is in front of them to be waited on. WE WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS STORE!

McDonald's cups for water

I went to McDonalds for breakfast and I ordered a value meal with coffee. I asked the cashier for a cup for water and I was refused. I eoltd them that I was diabetic and I would like water with my meal and I couldn't drink orange juice. They told me I had to purchase a bottled water. I said that saw a water dispenser at the fountain beverage station and they said that they do not provide cups for that. I also like to put my own equal in my coffee to make sure that I am not getting sugar. They put that in for you when you order so you never know for sure if you are getting the right sweetener.

McDonald's avoid them

On my last visit to one of your stores in Johnson City Tn I was charged $.025 for a glass of water. Is this now a company wide charge or just this unit? As the largest restaurant company in the world its a shame to charge for a glass of water. Did the cup really cost you that much? Next time I will bring my own cup or maybe I'll just go to another restaurant and no longer be a McDonald's customer. By the way I have been a customer since 1958 in DesPlaines Il where Ray Kroc opened the 1st franchise unit.

No, not all McDonald's charge for water. My store only charges for a large glass of water but the medium and small glasses are still free. If that McDonald's was charging for water it is because a lot of customers ask for water and then get soda, which in the long run will be costing the store and then to make up for that they have to start charging everyone for water. It's the same concept as when there is too much shoplifting in a department store and so to make up for lost money the store is forced to raise all its prices. There are also ways to get your food faster at a McDonald's, if you're interested check out this link:

McDonald's germs, service

Here is a 2 part complaint about McDonald's service and how nasty the place is.

1.Germs -
There are always flys in the building. The tables are never cleaned and you gotta get a manager just to have 30 seconds of work done. The bathrooms are filthy and there is always stuff no the floor.

2.Service -
They are always in a rush and never stop to take my full order, This happend many times. They always forget to add something which makes us go back and wait in line for another 5 minutes just to get 1 - 2 items. They always forget to remove things like when we want no onions, they always keep the onions.

I dont see what the rush is.Its suppose to be Service for a reason.Take your time and make sure its perfect before you send it off.

McDonald's unacceptable attitude/service

Ok now this is the worst service I have ever received through my entire life, on Sunday we went to Mcdonalds for ice cream, as soon as we entered the drive though we waited for the woman to speak through the speaker box that says 'order here' we waited and nothing happend, so we assumed it was faulty or no one was around and drove on, as we reached the window the young girl with no manners and respect for others told us she's not taking our order and we should drive around again and place the order to the speaker box, she told us we were lying about the speaker box, she rolled her eyes contiously and was extremely rude!]

I couldn't believe she called us liars, we told her she needed an attitude adjustment but she seemed to dissagree, I will never put my foot in your place again!

and that's not all, we got the wrong ice cream and when we mentioned it to the lady at the next window, she went on and on and told us no, it is the correct order! and after much struggle we finally got the correct ice cream which Im sorry to say wasn't worth all that effort,

STREET VENDORS HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS, YOU NEED TO FIX YOUR STAFF OR REPLACE THEM.

What is the point of McDonalds being a 24 hour service when it is closed every time I get there around midnight. Surely this is false advertising, as 24 hour implies that it never closes? The staff are all sitting inside, but the security has blocked the drive-through with bricks and an orange cone. It is impossible to get hold of anyone and the security just says : "they have problems with the system and it will take 10 minutes or so, depending on the speed of the system". Can someone please explain to me whether this is standard practice, in which case McDonalds must look at their false marketing signage. Bellville (Tyger Manor) McDonalds colses each night at midnight for "system upgrades".

At almost every mcdonalds, they have two lanes. Sometimes there is only one person taking orders on both lanes so maybe she was taking the other person's order first when you arrived. I guess it would have been nice if she said "I'll be with you in just a moment." But yeah idk

McDonald's very slow service

Stood in line inside for ten minutes (only two people in front of me). My wife went to save a table while I ordered. Ordered two biscuits and gravy, orange juice, hash browns and 2 burritos. I was still waiting for my order after at least ten other people who had ordered after me and they had already received theirs! Tell me, how long does it take to grab a couple of orange juices out of the cooler and dump some gravy over some pre-made biscuits, deep fry hash browns and microwave some burritos! Especially since they have these items going in and out of the cookers all the time. I told them I wasn't waiting any longer and demanded my money back. Went to the Waffle House and order two All Star Specials and was eating within 7 minutes. Wasted at least 40 minutes of my time at McDonald's and sent my blood pressure through the roof!

McDonald's bad all round

Over the past 8 years I have seen one of the busiest McDonald's stores in the country gradually decline from a stellar success into a dirty embarassment. I will list a few of the things I have experienced here:

1) Yesterday I was given re-heated Mcnuggets again. They were dark brown, dried out and tough. Generally I have found about a 25% chance of being given re-heated or cold McNuggets, last night's were super bad.
2) The staff are SLOW. You must just see it for yourself to believe it.
3) Last week I ordered 2 McFlurries. Staff saw nothing wrong with simply dumping the Oreo cookie powder on top of the ice-cream as the mixer was broken...!
4) Drive Thru - The slow service here is unbelievable. And every drive-thru customer gets greeted by a host of beggars. Charming . Staff are often missing from the "Order" and "Pay" counters despite a queue around the block. Bad planning and chaos in the kitchen makes things worse.
5) Bad Hygiene and dilapidated appearance. That kitchen is a mess.
6) No Menus with calorie info. Even the serving tray liner with the summary info printed on the back is a rare find.
7) Permanent queues. Irate customers. Seems there are NEVER enough cashiers.

For sure there are always long queues and beggars intimidating paying customers. I went through the drive thru a few Sunday's now and the guy (trainee) at the cash-point laughs himself silly about everything, even-though there was no joke at all. Was he laughing at customers or because he is stupid. The lady that was training him taking the orders at the drive thru wasn't laughing either? Then where you go to collect your meal, the guy would look at all the woman inside the vehicle, making jokes with some of the employees inside and see if he can't pick up a date. I would like professional service like at KFC please, friendly people (not people giggling in your face for nothing), you take your food and go. Friendly, FAST service, no strings attached. Nobody tries to pick up anybody inside the vehicle. People go thru drive-thruhs to pick up food not idiots.

McDonald's overcharged

I began placing an order through the drive-thru & had to repeat &/or correct it 3 times because server kept interrupting me. Drove to the window to pay. The bill was $16.23;I gave her a $50.00 & told her, twice, that I had the .23 in change; she did not pay attention, continued to make change & handed me change. I was still holding the .23 and told her I had the correct change as I wanted all bills. She said in a hateful tone "Well, I've already shut my drawer." I replied "you should pay attention to your customers." She got angry & yelled "F*** you, b****!" When I reached the second window to get my food, I asked for the shift manager & told him I was angry & she shouldn't be allowed to talk to customers like that - HIS reply was "I will have to check that out with her." HE NEVER OFFERED AN APOLOGY! He just kept saying he would have to check it out with her. I asked for his store manager's phone number & his district manager's phone number. He gave them to me & walked off. I asked another employee for the girl's name that yelled at me; she then came up to the second window & stated her name was Viola and then said "So, now can you move and leave so we can serve other people!" in a very hateful tone and with a smirk on her face.

This sort of behavior by an employee is unconscionable. I am offended, & since we live in a small town, my daughter, who was with me, feels very threatened that this employee may retaliate! All we did was order hamburgers and we were abused and assaulted and treated in a degrading and insulting manner! This was the store in Roswell, New Mexico that is shaped like an alien ship - the only kind in the world - unfortunately, it is also the only McDonald's in the world where I've been cussed at and the manager treats me like I am the problem. Never again will I darken the door of McDonalds and the very sad truth of this matter is that I am certain NOTHING will ever be done about it and these sort of people will get away with it.

McDonald's buy one get one free promo

McDonalds has coupons out Buy One Get One FREE...

I ordered the same on multiple occasions and have been charged 3 different prices? WTF. I complain and I get the standard. This is what I was told to do.

I order a McChicken COMBO, that should be around 6.70 with tax and ask for a 6 piece as the free.

Well the charge each item out separate than just discount 2.21... WTF I am not getting a second free as the coupon says. I am only getting 60-70% off the second.

I think they think we can not do MATH and are STUPID.

I'm unsure if you've been to the same location or different locations. Each I notice charges slightly different prices. Especially Franchise's, as they charge at least 30-50cents more for anything. If the McChiken costs $3.99, and the 6 nuggets costs $3.79 as it is at my location, then the discount should go to the nuggets, since it's least expensive, totaling $4.47 with tax.

McDonald's customer service,store condition,food freasness

The Mcdonalds in Rome, GA on Turner Mccall Blvd. is so nasty it needs 2 be shut down. The employees are rude and none of them speak english. The place is dirty all the time and the playground never gets washed. We used to go often now we go to Dairy Queen. I wish the health dept would step in and fire everyone and start the place over. Clean place. Respectable employees. Good food is what we want

McDonald's lazy workers

I stop in about 2 to 3 times a week on my way to work at the SR 26 location in Lafayette Indiana. It’s usually between 4:30am and 5:00am. In the last month’s time, they have maybe had the signs in the drive thru switched to the breakfast menu maybe twice. This is so aggravating to not see a menu when I pull up to the drive thru. Lately, I have just been leaving as soon as I see that it's not been switched. If they don’t think it's important to make sure the customer can see the menu, then I guess they don’t need customers! I don’t have any problem with the food quality. It’s actually pretty good. I do get shorted something (usually the hash brown) once in awhile and don’t notice till I’m at work. That’s not as big of a deal though. Please get the lazy workers to change the drive thru signs when breakfast starts and ends!

McDonald's stay away

The McDonalds on Albany Avenue in Atlantic City New Jersey is running a towing scam. They have signs saying Patron Parking Only or you will be towed, but on a few very small signs, most posted below eye level and behind parked cars, at the bottom (not all of the signs) it says "Dine In Customer Only Parking" - 45 minute limit. I ate at McDonalds on August 31, 2008, walked across the street and when I returned a few minutes later my car was being towed. I couldn't believe it? I ended up being out $80 and I am sure that the Manager of McDonalds and the Towing company have a scam going on. I saw several cars being towed from the lot, and a few angry patrons, just in the short time I was trying to sort this out with the Manager who wouldn't be budged. I wonder how much he's (a Mr. Tuliano) raking in for this - a lot I expect. The tow truck driver looked like his twin and he wouldn't give me his name.

McDonald's bad management

I'm complaing about the rude behavior of one morning manager at the McDonalds in Richlands VA. I went in today and I over heard a manager saying that she was sick of one of the employees and that she wished she could fire him. This was supposedly over not having enough food in the cabinet. However, other employees stated that the cabinet was well stocked and that there was a rush on the product that the manager was complaining about. Also this manager is always mean, short tempered, and very rude to employees and some customers. What has happend to survice with a smile?

McDonald has been one of our favorite fast food restaurant for more than a decade. I have been eating at many McDonald branches, including US, and this was the first time I treated like a stupid. Here is what had happened.
We went to McDonald East Coast Parkway Singapore, the one with Drive-Thru, around 11:30AM. My wife would like to have Chicken McNuggets and Fish Fillet and I usually order BigMac meal. When the cashier was ready to serve me, she immediately refused and told me that those meals are only for Lunch Time. I got puzzled by what she said and checked my watch again, it was 11:38AM, and told her “It is lunch time”. Then she said Lunch Time is from 12PM. I argued with her for 5 minutes insisting that it was already lunch time and wanted my order be served. Despite of the loud voice and no other staff helped to intervene, I felt useless to argue, and immediately left to another fast food restaurant that could serve any menu I wanted.
As one of US chain restaurant, I don’t think it is not right to dictate any customer what to do and I hope the management can do something about this.

McDonald's overcharged greatly

Waiting for our flight from dalaman airport in turkey to uk, our two kids felt a little hungry so they brought 2xhappy meals from mcdonalds my kids came back with the change after eating the meals, on counting the change and checking the prices we had payed £15.00 FOR THE 2 HAPPY MEALS In uk it only costs around £4.00 so how can they justify charging so much.
