Disappointed with Toyota
My car was serviced by this branch on 3 Jan 2019. When my husband went to fetch the car, he was told that the book was service book was lost. Later in the week he was called to come and fetch a new book that had been made up. When he reached home there was a strong petrol odour but we thought it was probably normal. The odour persisted and when my husband called them, they asked to bring the car back to them... But by the next day the odour had decreased. A few days later I filled petrol and the attendent informed me that petrol was leaking out from my car... There was a pool of petrol under my car.. I drove like that straight to Toyota and they said that the seal on the fuel filter was not put on properly and they corrected it. The manager Dave said that the person responsible was on leave and he would give me feedback when the person comes back. Two days ago I filled up again and although there was no leak there was a strong odour for a day. I emailed Dave and once again he asked me to bring my car in. My questions are :who compensates my lost fuel? I work in an industry where getting time off is very difficult... Where do I find the Time to go back? And the cost of driving there? Finally... A leaking fuel tank? Who takes responsibility for the risk of a disaster? I am still awaiting feedback regarding the employee.. I am bitterly disappointed with a brand of this magnitude in South Africa..
