Maytag bravos xl washing machine

My Bravos xl washing machine has been in our house for four years.. model number: mvwb750ywp. We have had nothing but problems with it since we first bought it. My husband has had to take it apart 3 times. Last night the smell coming from the machine was unbearable. Musty, moldy smell that would be left on our towels after washing. The machine was completely taken apart. What we saw was one of the most disgusting sights...brown mold growing in the entire outer drum! Unacceptable! I clean that machine religiously with vinigar, baking soda, bleach, and afresh tabs. Every time the light comes on I clean it. It looked like puke. Water was sitting in the bottom of the tub. It is not draining properly causing a breeding ground for mold and bacteria. After looking online other people have documented the same problem and noted that their machine needs to be taken apart and cleaned every 4 to 6 months. This is beyond unacceptable! I have a family and care about the air quality in my home. This product needs to be Recalled!

The Maytag Bravo line is highly regarded as one of the best washers in the industry. Unfortunately even the best products can run into problems. Natasha warranty may help provide for many issues within certain timeframes. If you decided you wanted longer coverage on your washer, most retailers offer extended service programs that will handle any such issues.

If you haven't already, contact the retailer you purchased the unit with. They should be able to help resolve the issues you're having.

Maytag washing machine

I bought a Maytag washer for the first time from Lowe's. It was a "floor" model that someone bought, didn't like and returned. The price was right and I thought Maytag was a good brand. Please see the pictures attached of my "mop" head that I have washed 2 times. I can't believe how many times I have to wash something just to get it clean. Unfortunately, it's too late to return it to Lowe's because I've had it for several months. I'm just writing to let you know how disappointed I am in this washing machine. Is it common to have 6 large knocks at the end of a cycle?

The problem may likely be that of buying a used machine. Even if the unit isn't considered under warranty, you may still want it looked at. Contact Lowers and they should be able to put you in touch with a local authorized service center.

Please let us know if that doesn't resolve any issues.

Maytag washing machine

Bought new washer from Hone Depot store # 6917.
Would not go into wash cycle .
Made all pertinent calls to Home Depot and Maytag. Each company blames the other. I am still without a washer that works. It is 8 weeks old!
I want thus defective machine replaced with a working machine I have paid $654 for.
The only other option is to remove this defective machine and refund my money .

Maytag is useless . I haves called 9 different phone #'s to resolve the fact my brand new washer doesn't work! From the first day of installation. I called the 48hr MaytagSpecialty team to report with in the 48 hrs.
Neither Home Depot ( who I purchased the washer from $654 on the Hone Depot Cc) not Maytag will replace or refund my $$ for the defective washer that was delivered.
How can they get away with this consumer fraud?
Maytag at # 877.461.3376 manager "Eric" thinks replacing non working lemon parts is the perfect answer! No it is a brand new machine!
They cannot be trusted and should never be sell defective and fraudulent machines

This is the South Brunswick Home Depot.

This issue is that, unfortunately, the washer is actually over two months old. As much as one might consider a unit like this as "newer" it definitely isn't "new" and therefore doesn't qualify to be returned or exchanged. However, it does qualify for warranty service. Maytag has one of the best service center programs within the business. You shouldn't find it difficult to have the defective parts, if any, replaced within no time.

Maytag maytag washer

A month ago our washer (model MVWX655DW1 & serial C64441301) had no power. We check our breaker, the outlet and nothing. Called Maytag because it was still under the year warranty (Purchased Dec. 26, 2016). Maytag setup an appointment with Chambers Services to come look at the washer. Came out said it was the power cord. Ordered a new cord. I called Nov. 27th to see when it could be put in. Technician came out Dec. 4th. Replaced power cord and the washer still wouldn't work. So he had to order the power board. Orders it and tells me to call their office to set up and install date. Called the 5th and said it should be there that day and wasn't. Received a called the next day (Dec.6) to schedule for Monday the Dec. 11 because the part wouldn't be on until the weekend. At 8am this morning I received a phone call from Chambers Services that the tech is out sick and the soonest he could be here would be Thursday. Seriously...I'm very upset with the way this has been handled and will recommend to all family and friends to NOT buy anything Maytag. I then called the customer support line this morning. Waited on hold for almost an hour. To talk to a representative that told me the best she could do for me was extend my warranty until June 2018. And the lady also laughed at me and my situation...how mature! Really...I have taken time away from my job to wait for someone to come fix my washer to only get bad news every time, not once but 3 times now. I've had to take laundry to a laundry mat and pay to clean my own laundry and look at weeks worth of laundry sitting around my house. I am absolutely disgusted with the way this issue has been handled. The customer service that I have talked to is horrible! I hope you don't treat all of your customers how I have been treated because you will lose a lot of business!

Maytag maytag bravos washer

I purchased this in April 2017. It doesn't get the clothes clean. Service technician told me to never use the "cleaning" pods (although 3 free ones came with the new washer.) I had service techs out within the first month who said I was using too much detergent and to never use the pods.

Second guy said that "there is nothing wrong" with this machine.

It is VERY loud an I am quite concerned about the plumbing near this washer as it makes a loud, awful noise when filling.

Nebraska Furniture Mart will not replace because it's not within the 30 days.

It does not clean the clothes and sometimes my clothes look dirtier than when they were first put into this washer. Will NEVER buy Maytag products again, and telling all my friends on Facebook to NOT buy Maytag products.

I'd like to help get it performing well for you KC.

The Maytag Brovos are actually pretty nice equipment. They don't run like the older, traditional style washing machines though.

I personally wouldn't use pods either. You're better to measure the detergent yourself. NEVER USE ANY MORE THAN 1/3 off a cup. Using too much can damage the machine and will produce less than acceptable results.

Couldn't explain the issue with noise from your plumbing. You may want to have a plumber come out to check.

Maytag maytag stove/ oven purchase

My wife and I have purchased many appliances from Maytag/ Whirlpool. We purchased this oven in November along with 4 other appliances. The broiler did not work. It took many hours of our time to get a new delivered on December 7 th. Since it was at our vacation home in Florida, we had to enlist the help of a neighbor because" Whirlpool" could not deliver before we left at the end of November.. mine you we could have ordered new and received it before November 30 th. when we left. Really! So the new one delivered on December 7 th. Also does not work( broiler) .what does delivery guy say..oh. that is how it is supposed to work..guess I can't do any broiling with that oven right? What are you going to do now ? To say we are unhappy with quality of your appliances is an understatement... We are in Wisconsin until late January... Then heading back to Florida... You can look up all info on this very unbelievable situation on my wife's cell number.. bought through Home Depot [protected]...

Maytag maytag dishwasher

Bought a Maytag dishwasher, had it installed for approximately 1 1/2 months before it started to leak. Had repair man out 6 times who replaced more parts than the machine was worth. This went on for 3 months and nothing was repaired. Spent all this time trying to get a replacement. Finally told I was going to get one and that id get a call in 5-10 business days regarding delivery. 14 business days later and still nothing and getting the run around when we call in to inquire on it. Worst service I've ever experienced in my life. If your going to sell a product then back it up and stop [censor] around your customers.

I purchase a new Maytag Dryer and Washer at the Stevenson Appliance Dealer in Brownsville Texas 78521 on 11/11/2017 and it was deliver to our house on 11/14/2017 my wife did use both and the dryer fail she report this to the dealer a lady by the name of Monica who told she will advice the owner of the issue for him to call back and he did not call back until I call myself and question Monica on 12/4/2017 and then on they send the technician on 12/6/2017 the technician report that the main control board did not work reason for the dryer to not turn on since this issue was report one they after to the dealer we want this product to be replace we will not accept repairs and our expectation was to work fine with no issues as my last Maytag product I have purchase

Maytag washer

My wife and I bought a new Maytag washer and new Maytag dryer last October (2016) and both worked great from the start. However, during the first week of November 2017 (3 weeks after the 1 year full warranty expired), the washer had the entire electronic circut board blow and was completely broken and now needs to be replaced (washer would not turn on at all). The washer model number is MVWB765FW0 and the seriel number is C63672075. After having a Maytag representative here in Binghamton, NY (done through Olum's) come and provide me with an estimate for repair on 11/29/17, I was told it will be $338.00 for the part (plus labor) to fix the broken circut board.

This is highly disappointing as we have had the washer for a year and a month and one of the most expensive parts was broken and unfortunetly does not appear to be covered by warranty at this point (only drive motor and washing bucket covered at this time). For this to happen less than 13 months after the purchase date is utterly ridiculous.

We bought a Maytag product after hearing about the quality of their product and that they last a long time. However based on my current experience, the washer model we purchased was not high quality at all and has now cost us over $1, 000 in total (between purchase price and current repair cost) for a washer. To me, this is completely unaccetable and enough for me to never purchase a Maytag product again and enough for me to share this experience with anyone who asks me about home appliances.

For this part not to be included in the 10 year warranty plan for these models is ridiculous and I feel as a customer that we have almost taken advantage by your company because of the beyond poor quality of the washer we purchased. I am requesting that the circut board be covered by Maytag as it is the least that can be done in hopes of retaining my wife or I as clients in the future. If further information is needed from my end (repair information) that can be provided. I can be contacted by phone at [protected] or by email at [protected]@gmail.com.

Furthermore, the scheduling tool I used through the Maytag website to have a Maytag repair man (in Binghamton, NY aread) come to my house did not work properly as it advised after I finished scheduleing and received via email confirmation (2 of them) that an appt was set for 11/21/17 from 4pm-5pm at my house (536 E Campville Rd. Endicott, NY 13760) - which I chose on the Maytage website - but no one showed up. Upon calling Maytag on 11/21/17, I was told by a nice woman that no such appt was scheduled however Olum's in Binghamton had me scheduled for Monday 11/27/17 and this is not what I requested. After dealing with Olum's in Binghamton, NY for over a hour on 11/21/17, we were able to find time for the Maytag repairman to come give me an estimate on 11/28/17. That scheduling fiasco has made this entire situation even more frustrating and left the sourest taste in my mouth I can remember with respect to customer service.

If I do not hear back from you in a timely fashion, I will assume that the customer service provided by Maytag is as poor in quality as the washer Maytag provided my wife and I that costed over $700 at time of purchase and is now costing an additional $330+ shortly over a year later after purchase.

Maytag washer model # mvwb765fw

Washer doesn't clean clothes. Tech came out and said "washer does what it's designed to do"; that's nice, but it doen't get clothes clean. I put a cat blanket in the wash that had vomit and cat food on it. After first wash, it came out looking just as it went in. 2nd wash (tech was here and set the setting for that wash) came out a little cleaner, but still had vomit and cat food stuck to it.

Tell me how this is "energy efficient" if I keep having to wash the same things over and over?

Home Depot won't return it unless Maytag gives them a GMA (?) number. I want to exchange this washer! I am most certainly not a satisfied customer!

I appreciate making your acquaintance. Hopefully I can help you with the problems you're experiencing.

The Maytag MVWB765FW really is a decent quality washing machine. It's well rated by most reviews.

All washers are required to fit within certain energy efficient regulations. This means that you won't see any washers that operate like those of yesteryear.

The issue is learning how to properly operate these new units.

For operating at higher cleaning ability, select the 'Power Wash' setting and 'Deep Water Wash' option. For even heavier, ground in stains, you'll want to pretreat.

With those instructions, I'm sure you'll have more favorable results.

Maytag coin-operated washer

Between july 2017 and august 2017 138 student living jamaica purchased 13 washers and 8 dryers from the local dealers atl jamaica limited to equip the laundromat it operates for the benefit of its residents (clients). eight weeks ago 2 washers stopped working and the atl technician advised that the circuit board needed to be replaced but none was in stock. eight weeks later with now 5 washers not working, we have had no acceptable solution from the dealers who are still awaiting arrival of parts whilst we have extremely angry residents unable to access the laundry service which is a critical part of our product offering.

The situation is untenable and as such we have identified washers elsewhere and are prepared to return the washers to atl in return for some dryers however they have flatly refused to take back the washers whilst not providing an acceptable solution.

Maytag maytag washer model mvwx655dw0 - 18 months old

I have been working on this problem for 4 days and we have been without a washer for 2 weeks now. We own a Maytag Washer, Dryer and Dishwasher and I have bought Maytag's our entire 20+ year marriage. The washer in question is an 18 month old Top Loader. The Suspension rods holding the drum needed replacing. Picture is attached from the Maytag parts site.

THE PROBLEM -

Sears Home Service came out to repair the washer after sending parts (2 different times) here to the house manufactured by the Whirpool Corporation - Part #W11130362. The picture on the Maytag Replacement Part site and the Maytag Customer Service parts people say the part should be just over 22" long (see attached pic). The TWO boxes of parts that were mailed to my house with the above mentioned part number are over 23" long (see attached). The Sears Home Service repair technicians said these parts would not fit in the machine. According to Sears, Maytag no longer makes the original part and this replacement part is the only one made but it does not fit my 18 month old washer.

How do we get the correct sized part to repair our not very old machine? Why would a company not make a part on an 18 month old machine?

I have been faithful to this company but after spending in excess of $400 to fix a 2 year old Maytag top end dishwasher last year, $350 to fix an 18 month old washer and now the fact I can't even get the washer fixed, I think the Maytag Corporation is not the company or the machines they use to be. This has been frustrating and lost any faith in these products for future purchases.

Two weeks without a washer. Upon second visit I am being told that the basket, transmission and suspension all need to be replaced to the tune of $1, 400. Is it the Maytag Machine or Sears Home Repair. I liked the technicians and seem to want to help me but Sears Home Services is also about selling $50/per month repair contracts. Next step is to contact Maytag again and maybe get one of their repair technicians.

Maytag maytag bravos xl

We built a new house in 2012 and purchased new appliances at this time - the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer were part of them. We have been having issues with the washer becoming unbalanced during the spin cycles, laundry not coming clean on the initial wash (lightly soiled laundry) and therefore have to wash a second time (additional water and hydro costs incurred). We have had a repairman come look at the washing machine and were told the parts used are Samsung, not Maytag/Whirlpool, and the bearings need to be replaced. In order to replace the bearings we need to replace the entire drum unit which is almost the cost of a brand new machine. I have sent my inquiry to the Maytag customer service team which indicated a 3 day response - 2 weeks after my initial email I received a response that said it is out of warranty with a copy of the warranty page contained in the manual. I have also called the customer service line twice in order to speak with someone but have never received a response back. Is this the type of service that is to be expected from Maytag? We are a family of 3 therefore do not have large amounts of laundry, is your product only expected to last 5 years? I would like to discuss having a replacement or repair done as soon as possible, this has been going on for over a month now and am worried about using the machine therefore have been going outside the home for laundry. Frustrated and disappointed in this product and customer service!

I still have not received any response from Maytag_Digital@Maytag.com after forwarding them an email with the information identified on November 24th. It appears they do not value customer service as to date I have left over 3 voice mail messages, 3 separate emails and nothing. Very disappointing as I had recommended this product to friends and family, if I knew this would be the outcome and service to be expected I would never have recommended. Sent another email today - would appreciate some sort of response.

Maytag maytag dryer

Model number medc300bw. Serial number m43972829. Purchased 10/20/2014.

I purchased my maytag dryer exactly three years ago when my dryer sparked in the back and shut off. It knocked all the electricity in the house out. My electrician determined that the wires in the dryer that connected to the power cord were not insulated and burned and melted together. He taped the wires and reconnected the dryer. I'm not too happy with maytag reliability. I'd be happy to send you the pictures of the melted wires.

It was not the power cable. It was the wiring inside the dryer that the power cable attaches to. My power cable was new and it sustained no damage when the wiring INSIDE the dryer overheated. If a licensed electrician cannot tape the wires correctly, the only thing left to do is get a new dryer.

Hi Ms. Lacey.

The wiring your speaking of is not a Maytag part. It is a separate 220 power cable to coincide with whatever your wall receptacle is. It's recommended that when a new dryer is purchased, this power cable is also replaced. Although there's nothing which requires one to do so.

I would highly suggest to not 'taping' wires to make them work. That is the form of thinking that can lead to future problems -- if not an actual house fire.

Maytag washing machine

I bought a Maytag washing machine in Jan 2016, Model #4KMVWC300BW0 with serial #C43230158. In Jan 2017, I requested for a general cleaning and no trouble found. In June 2017, it stopped working. According to the service technician, the motherboard needs to be replaced but they don't have a stock and it has to be ordered from the US. For the past 5 months, I have been calling to follow up but the service center in the Philippines
said that they already ordered but do not know when it will arrive. I'm terribly disappointed that your product broke down in only 18 months and taking so long for the part to be shipped. I want my money back or at least fix the problem ASAP.

Maytag maytag refrigerator french door/bottom mount mft2667fez00

Purchased the maytag fridge french door bottom mount mft2776fez00 in november 2016.

May/june 2017 there was large amount ice/frost build up behind produce cabinets with water leaking.
Food spoilage,
Whirlpool repair changed the thermostat.

October/november 2017 again ice built up with water leakage. Food spoilage.
Whirlpool repair has now ordered a new control system and evaporator.

This is a brand new maytag refrigerator which has main components like thermostat, control system & evaporator breakdowns

Maytag sold me a defective fridge or this model has defects.
Whirlpool/maytag is refusing to change the unit.

Maytag keeps trying to sell me extended warranties!
Terrible customer service.
Do not recommend maytag

I'm fairly active within the appliance industry. Hopefully I can provide some insight.

First, Maytag is part of the Whirlpool family of products. They provide some very good quality appliances, but even good quality appliances can have problems. By no means does that make the brand bad. You're running into something that the service technicians are trying to track down for you. Just because any brand of appliance has a problem doesn't justify replacing it out. It sounds like the tech is trying to fix the issue through the process of elimination. Generally speaking, a warranty provider will only replace a unit one they feel they cannot reasonably service it. Most ask for three tries to fix a single issue within the period of twelve months before a replacement is offered. It sounds as if you've had the same issue twice. Make sure you keep proper documentation of everything that's been done.

Are extended warranties worthwhile? Maybe. They are something that a wise consumer at least addresses. In my opinion, you want to place yourself in one of two scenarios: first, paying for an extended warranty that you end up not using and, two, not having a warranty when the product does break down so you cover the service or replacement cost out of your own pocket. If you're okay with the instances when the second option comes up, then there's no need to worry about the warranty coverage. On the other hand, if you really would be angry over not having coverage and paying out of your own pocket, then it's something to consider.

Maytag front load washer model mhw3050fw

Don't buy! We purchased this washing machine from Lowe's 6 months ago and the door is locked and won't open. I found a video on YouTube on how to remove the top panel and release the door latch manually. I called Lowe's and they have arranged for a repair technician to come out but not until 6 days from now. I would have never bought this machine if I would have known this was a common problem. According to Maytag, there are no recalls at this time - there should be!

Maytag washer snags my clothes

I purchased a Maytag washer a couple of years ago. I was so excited about my new washer being a Maytag and being made in America. However, the washer pulls on my clothes and causes snags in the material of my clothing. I have enclosed a few pictures of the damages. I guess I just kept hoping it would magically go away. However, it has ruined so many at this point that I am just overwhelmed. I have searched (felt around) inside my machine so many times to see if I could find something that causing the snags to my clothing, with no avail. Can you help me with this problem? I included a picture of the information on my washer (model number, etc). Thanks!

Maytag 25cf sxs msd2576vem

Lowes purchase: 25 Cubic Foot Maytag/Whirlpool refrigeration from Lowe's 3/11/2011. Side by side with ice maker and water dispenser in door.
no additional warranty purchased.

on 11/05/ 2017, 6 year old product @$1, 372 + plumber to connect water line, the refrigeration side of product freezes all food.
lowered settings on freezer, refrigerator and humidifier.
all food frozen on refrigerator side and must be thrown away.
six (6) years? now i have to purchase a new refrigerator.
who replaces a $1372 refrigerator every 6 years?
do not purchase maytage/whirlpool.

Hi Celest.

Your issue sounds terribly frustrating. It's unfortunate that you're having such a problem. No question that one doesn't make such a purchase with the intent of having such an issue, even after six years, but even good products can run into problems.

There was a time when refrigeration units would last decades but that isn't common these days. Initially compressors use to be considerably larger compared to the overall size of the fridge. This gave refrigerators and freezers the ability to last indefinitely longer. The drawback was that they'd consume considerable more energy. As energy costs climbed, it became more concerning as one would pay for these 'over-sized' compressors through greater energy bills. Government regulations now require that refrigeration units consume considerable amounts of less energy, but it means the compressor became smaller and has a tendency to work that much harder to cool, what has become, larger and larger equipment.

It may provide little solace, but it's important to understand in order to not of the issue replicate itself. Any refrigeration unit these days require 'breathing room.' It doesn't require much, but you definitely don't want to enclose the unit off. Give at least a half an inch space around the unit for air to flow freely to the compressor. Without doing so, the appliance will work initially but can experience an early death as you are now relating. Also, and for the same reasons, you want to keep the compressor area as clean as possible. As dust settles on the part, it restricts the airflow and can cause the compressor to overheat. At least once a year you want to pull the fridge out, remove the plate that covers the compressor area, and vacuum or wipe around the compressor and fan. Cleaning the area will allow the air to flow more freely and generally add life to the unit.

Finally, it may not hurt to contact an authorized service center to diagnose the problem. Generally it's suggested that if an appliance is over half of its lifespan, one should just replace the appliance. You try to get a good ten years out of most appliances now. And admittedly, for ever person who gets the six years there will be another who gets fourteen or fifteen. But whereas you're so close, it might make sense to still pay for a house call to confirm the issue is really within a major part and not worth fixing. In replacing the unit, make sure to take into consideration what we've discussed and take the time to shop those extended warranties. It may save you from having to pay out money again down the road.

Maytag maytag washer smell

I purchased a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine model # MVWB950YW from Manuel Joseph Appliance on 3/31/2012 for $999.00 plus tax and delivery. Early this year (2017) we had an unmistakable sewer order coming from the washing machine. The washer is left open when not in use and wiped down at least once a week AND per the directions every 30 days is cycled through the cleaning cycle with Affresh. After running a cleaning cycle with clear vinegar and another with baking soda/water mix, I went to the internet for help.

These are just a few internet connections on how to fix the smell. When I called Maytag about a possible recall, they told me to call a repair person. I don't think I should have to call a repair person once every 6 months or year because of a design flaw. The water sits in the bottom and doesn't drain completely.
Please help us out. I've contacted Manual Joseph and Maytag directly to deal with this problem.
