maxwell,turner and associates review: collection agencies 15

I sadly worked for this company.. And after seeing what they were doing and what I was being forced to do I quit in 2 weeks. I am sorry you all had to deal with this. But the company was in Bakersfield! Not FRESNO! Sadly California has no law on needing any type of debt collection. Anyone in Cali can start doing this in their home. When I tried to file my taxes after moving I tried to get a hold of them and got no reply ... Via e-mail nor phone.
They then set up a new website which had a new number in which I was able to speak to the owner .. Who announced to the room "This is the girl who called the IRS about us" ... Damn right I did ! He had me fill out my tax info with my Social Security number and all my info so as far as I was concerned I was being taxed... WRONG He kept that tax to himself and what I thought was a payroll check (seeing as I had been informed that the payroll company wasn't in) was really a money order. At that time I was in a different state and took whatever job came my way.
After 4 week I couldn't handle it any more. I realized this man was scamming ppl and I quit.
Truth to the matter. There is no Maxwell or Turner. It is one man who claims to be different people.
I am sorry I worked for this company. I was naive.

Well, I just tried to call and the number is disconnected. Who knew?
I am out $650 I paid to get them to do a $3300 collection.
What is the easiest way to get a hold of the DA in CA. ?

The D.A. in Fresno has frozen the only account he could find. He has to reimburse his California "victims" first, so, I doubt there will be any money for the rest of us. Also, "Maxwell AND Turner are fictitious names...so, finding them will be hard. They are professional scammers, and they have hidden their tracks from day-1!I fear that starting a nation wide class action suit is futile effort, as the only ones who will make money are the lawyers...(what else is new?!) If I hear from John Mitchell, at the D.A's office, I will post it, but, I feel like this has been a "live and learn" moment, and we will probably NEVER see our money OR justice here! Dory McLaughlin

I too have been a victime of Maxwell, Turner and Associates. I have been having an issue with one of my debtors and turned over 20, 000 plus in debt to them to help me recover. The first several times I looked Maxwell, Turner up I didn't find anything negative about them. They got to my company for $1700, and now I am ticked off. I feel really bad now, because I talked my fiance and the owner of our business into filing our claim with them. I will be contacting those of you who have offered and are wanting and willing to take this further, I am with you. I say we get these lying, theiving pieces of dirt and try and teach them a lesson. I wish I had found this site before I gave them my money last summer. Good luck to everybody and lets hope the creeps get what they deserve. I turned over $21, 000.00 of my bad debt over to Maxwell turner and associates 13 months ago and I have not received a penny. No return calls if I get to leave a message. They are very rude. I can't even get thru to them. These people should be locked up with the rest of the crooks. I am a very small business and to lose that kind of money has been very tuff. I went to them to collect, instead of chargeing the customer 20% on top of the amount owed me to cover there costs they have charged my account 20% off of my customer balance and collected, but has not paid me. I agree I have also been scammed by maxwell turner and associates. I've got the same story as all of you have! It really makes me mad that these people take advantage of all of us who have already been screwed. If there is anything we can do to get recourse let me know. I have been scamed also so it seems. They have gotten me for 7, 200 over the last year. Now they will not answer emails or their phone mail box is full. I have their bank account number. So I called the bank they bank with and ask if the account was open and active. She said yes. Could not tell me anything else other that their acct was not under investigation. Please be warned that this company seems very shady to me. I have spent the last few days doing online research on them and have found many negative reviews. Any positive reviews, are being posted by them. Notice the author is ranting about how good they are..."self appraisal" is low. Yes, I am too having to deal with these people who won't stop harassing me or my clients. I was lead to believe that they collected bad debts on a professional level with satisfaction guarantee. Let me tell you guys out there, they are anything but professional, i am very displeased with these people and in the manner they conduct their business. I have filed a complaint with the FTC and also wit the my local Atty. General. I cannot believe that MTA makes profit out of small business owners whom are already struggling due to non payement of services and they take advantage of the situation by taking more money. SHAME on them. FYI...google their address you'd be surprise to find out that its not an actual physical address but a P.O. Box #138, located within a UPS building. Just wished I would have done further research on them before hiring them. P.S. good luck finding them since its hard to find a business without a legitimate physical address and has bad reviews with the BBB in fresno california. If they're even located in California? or perhaps in Arizona...the trail is getting hotter Mr. Ed Hunt, Patrick Stewart, Susan Carmichael!

We also have been ripped off by Maxwell, Turner and Assoc. Your situation is the same as ours. But we were dealing with Melissa and with Patrick Steward. They must have been busy with the con games during the month of February. I called them this past Friday and told them I wanted all of my money back. I have reported them to the FTC, to the district attorneys office in Fresno, California, the Attorney Generals office in both my state and with the State of California. I suggest you do the same. They told me that they "knew" everyone at the District Attorneys office in Fresno so I could make any kind of complaint I wanted to but it wouldn't help me. When I called there I was told they did know of them only because of another complaint. Good luck

I also have been ripped off by this company. A promise to recover my money for 10% then having to front $1400.00 to cover costs for attorney fees and incidentals but I would fully get reimbursed for it. So when I call the account rep tells me nothingbut to call back in thirty days. Called again put on hold and asked the most stupid questions then told it was in litagation about 2 more weeks, then they were supposed to get a court date in Siskiyou county until this day Feb 25, 2010 no court date! Mr Ian Maxwell called me and wanted me to pay another $3200.00 to get my money and said he would have it withen 30-60 days. This company is rated F with the BBB has 6 more complaints and has only responded to 2, also they told me they have been in business a long time, come to find out it's only been 1 year.
