Maxwell Capital Group / Awful company
On March 23, 2009, I received a call from Diane Shields with Maxwell Capital Group and she assured me that I qualified for a loan up to $5000.00 dollars with a security deposit paid in advance in the amount of $830.00 dollars. On March 26, 2009, I wired $830.00 dollars by money gram to Ruth Stansord in Canada - this was the investor who was to furnish the loan within 24 hours. However, the next day I did not receive my intended loan. I called Diane Shields back and told her that I had not received my loan as of yet and what is the problem. She told me that my account was transferred to Glen Gordan, her supervisor, he told me that the investor took out an insurance policy against my loan and the insurance company was requesting to send an additional $830.00 to secure extra advanced payments towards my loan. The next day, Glen called and said that the investor backed out of the deal and he doesn't know why and that the company's attorneys were filing charges against the investor. He then informed me that there was another investor in the company that would extend a loan up to $10, 000.00 dollars and I needed to send an extra advancement of $830.00 and that Maxwell Capital would credit me an extra advancement of $830.00 towards my loan and that I would not have a payment until June 2010, this was on April 1, 2009. On April 2, 2009 I called Glen to see where my loan was and he told me that the investor could not wait for the $830.00 dollar credit from the company to be posted and that I needed to send $930.00 dollars to secure the $10, 000.00 loan. At this time I requested him to send me all of the advancements that I had wired by money-gram to the people he said to send it to. He informed me that I would not be able to receive my money back until April 20, 2009. On the 20th my money was not here and I called Diane Shields at [protected] ext. 385 - no answer., called Glen Gordan at [protected] ext 0 - no answer. These people sent out what looked like legal loan documents that you would receive from any lender or bank, it all looked legal and I thought it was legit. Boy was I wrong.
