To Whom It May Concern,

On August 25 I have purchased the "trial" products of MaxEffect Cleanse as well as Thin Secret. I was told that there was a trial period of "time given for delivery + 2 weeks (14 days) to try to product before you can cancel the product of being charged the $89.95. Apparently, I missed the cut off day by a few days and was told that I was still being charged. The problem with this situation is:

1) You really aren't given a date of when you're cut off date is?
2) When you start the trial date it is believed that you would get charged $89.95 for the combined products as you purchase them from the same website. However, when you go to cancel it, you have to deal with 2 separate companies, which are actually 3rd parties and have no control over anything. So, when I cancelled my trial, the costumer service indicated to me that my expiry date was the date I called in which was September 12. To me that meant that was my last day and that I would get charged. But with the poor quality of the phone call and with the customer service people talking extremely fast, I didn't understand everything. Basically it was all confusing. I did end up saying yes, apparently, to being charged. Again, as per the initial website where you order the trial product, I was lead to believe that it would only be $89.95 for both combined. I received notification from my bank that I was charged $93 for one, then $92 for the other. Combined along with the dollar change (which is weird cause again, I thought I was ordering from Canada) the total came to $250. Which is absolutely ridiculous for a 2 week product that doesn't work.
3) Every other company out there gives a 30 day trial and is way more understanding. There is no way that someone would want to pay this kind of money for a 2 weeks supply. The trial over 2 weeks isn't enough time to really see a big difference for someone to think that this product is good. With me, in fact, I actually gained 5 pounds. Going off of it, I lost the 5 pounds.

I called both companies (Max Effect - [protected] and Thin Secret [protected]) only to be told there is nothing they can do for me as the account is closed.

I really need your help. I still have the product, whats left over and I would mail it back to them in a heart beat. This was a BIG mistake and I am so upset that it cost me $250.
Please Help.

I had the same problem. I did cancel in time, but I had just asked to have the products cancelled which they said they did. But 2 weeks later I received the cleanse in the mail at a cost of $148.. I called them and they said I did cancel the Garcinia but I did not cancel the cleanse. When I told them it was the same phone number I was told that I should of made a second call to cancel the cleanse. Both are at the same place but I was suppose to make 2 calls. They are one of the most dishonest companies I have ever dealt with. NEVER AGAIN

I ordered this product during a time of family illness and was too distracted to pay attention to what was coming in the mail. $740.00 later I contacted this company which now went under 2 names to request an RMA. Even though I told them I had only used 1/2 of 1 bottle of the garcinia cambogia and had never ordered the other, even though I returned 4 unopened bottles, they refunded only for 2 and forgot all about the conversion charges. Because I had nothing in writing (because if you answer their emails, they bounce back) my bank could only credit me for the conversion charges. So buyer beware! The product did nothing for me and I ended up paying some $500 for the experience.

Hello you poor people!
I also fell for this garbage, and i went back back and looked at the ad that sucked me in and there was no mention of any trial period or that the charges would continue! Scammers!

Here is the solution for all of you lot!

Cancel the card that you used to pay for it, tell the bank it was lost/stolen and they will cancel the card and they will be unable to take anymore of your hard earned cash!

Then get the bank to re-issue a new one and the numbers will be different and so they wont have these numbers and no more charges!

I read these posts and tried to call them, no answer, just on hold for ages, so hung up and called my bank. Yes they are a scam, the bank found out the trail lead then to a kiosk or vending machine business and the max effect was apparently a computer repair company...yea right!

I ordered max effect cleanse and thin secret pure garcinia cambogia they took my payment Jan 13th 2016 2 x I see...18 days later would be January 30th they missed and charged me Feb 02 2016 RGB*WMSWTLSS [protected] WY $140.93 and LSM*NEWDIETPLANWTLSS [protected] WY $145.63 for a total of $286.56 ( 97.76 and the 2nd one is 101.03 US) ~ just received the product today! Today's date is February 25th. If it was $97.76 US for both ($140.93) still expensive but I would call and cancel and ask to return not opened if I can't then I only want to pay for one bottle and a refund for the other and cut my losses. Will be calling in an hour not happy.

I have had the same problem. The two week call in is buried somwhere in the small print on line and not included when you open the package that the product was shipped to you. When I called them to cancel, they agreed to give me a 50% refund on my order that was already shipped. When I got my bill, I was charged $133 cdn for my first order and $140 for my second order. When I called the customer service, they said that there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to a supervisor, the cs agent told me that they could not give me the credit I was looking for. I spoke to the supervisor and got the same story. I asked to speak to his supervisor and was told that there was no one above his rank that I could speak to, that I was responsible for the 2 sets of charges from them. There was no other supervisor to speak to and I was welcome to try to call back and speak to someone else tomorrow morning. I have looked all over the net and was unable to find any parent company or another number to call for customer satisfaction. There is no money back guarantee. This company is a scam and needs to be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.

I agree. I want to get everyone involved. They are scam artists and should be shut down. You can get better and much cheaper products at your local health store and they will do everything to help you including an exchange or refund. Spread the word... They are horrible!

We are dealing with the same issue. I have posted on facebook and several garcinia groups to not deal with thin secret as they are not cooperative when canceling the free trial . Max cleanse customer service is also uncooperative. I suggest you also put this complaint on facebook and any other social media you have access to.
