Maverick Seminars / Bad Business
Mr. Daniel Williams visited my office selling tickets (gift cards) to an event featuring Tom Hopkins earlier this year (March time frame). When my office got word that Tom Hopkins had cancelled the event, Maverick Seminars told those that purchased tickets to return them to their office so that they could re-issue new tickets when Tom Hopkins rescheduled. We returned the tickets with the expectation that we were going to get new ones; this never happened. After dozens of unanswered phone calls and faxes, and finally threatening legal action a representative from Maverick Seminars contacted us and told us that the tickets were going to be mailed shortly and that Tom Hopkins has rescheduled the event for a date in April. Closing in on the event date we still did not receive our tickets and continued to call Maverick Seminars. We were treated exactly the same way, with unanswered phone calls and faxes. Finally we received a response (a fax) from Maverick Seminars telling us that the event was cancelled and that we could use the tickets for any seminar in the area that were of the same value. We tried calling them to inform them that they were in possesion of the tickets since we had mailed them back to them, but we did not receive a response. Maverick Seminars is still in possesion of my ticket and several others in my office.
