Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity The site isn't offering what it says it offers

i have now been on this site since the 21 st August and I am extremely disappointed with this site . It states it will find suitable matches and it is not doing what it says even with a 50 mile radius which is far more than I want . As this site is not offering what it states I want to know how to get out . I have spoken to a few people who feel the same about matchafinity, not impressed at all and I have also seen loads of other complaints about the site

Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity Abusive payment

Hello,

I am one of Match(www.match.com)customers(Caitlyn, customers number [protected]) ..
I just observed another dating site Matchaffinity.com took from my account the amount of 67.42£ for two months( May-22.47£ and June-44.95£), without my permission. I never agreed to use Matchaffinity.. and I do not have any profile on Matchaffinity. The things which are set on the matchaffinity test, are taken from www.match.com(because I think they work together)
I couldn't get in touch with them(the option "contact us" doesn't work) so, please, I would like to have a refund for this two months and close my account(if this exists) with Matchaffinity as well.
Thank you!

Ecaterina Tuica

Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity absolute waste of money

This is copy of what I have sent to match affinity - please tell me how I can stop them taking the further installments.

To whom it may concern

I am really not at all satisfied with this dating site - and to think I subscribed for 12 months. I would like to know how I can my money back - I wish to leave the site - and please could you let me know if there is a governing body for dating sites that I can contact. I have spent hours on the site and there is just nobody, my profile is not even a true representation of my character - it says that I get stressed by every day life - when I am actually very laid back. There are only a handful of matches within a 30 mile radius of my location and I have to search for 50 miles or more or my region - and even then there is such limited choice. With most of the profiles not having been completed properly, they have no photo or description and have not visited the site recently. There is also no way of seeing whether or not the person you may try to contact is even a member and would actually even be able to maintain any sort of contact. I can honestly say I have never come across such a weird amount of people. It is a lot of money to outlay and to think I have another two payments to make when I don't even what to be on this site because it is not worth the money at all. (I was a member of match.com three years ago so I have had experience of how dating sites run). Match Affinity is sold as the elite to match.com but it is so far from that. I feel completely miss sold a product that is not able to offer me what is says it can. Please let me know what you can do to help me. And I would like to know the name of the complaints manager and a direct contact email for them. I can not just contact you through this type of email system when it is about a matter that requires to be dealt with by management.

There is not easy or straight forward way to email your company - its so frustrating

and when I state I am not interested in a profile and validate it I do not expect to see them in my inbox asking for my photograph. And I am not interested in a long distance relationship - you do not state that you must be prepared to accept that the majority of matches are going to be 100 or more miles away.

I looked at a handful of dating sites and I have to say that you make yours like very good - because I chose it - but I feel completely let down by it.

PLEASE will you be able to refund my money - I know you don’t have - but I can’t afford to waste money and that is exactly what I have done.

I will not take this any further, but if I am not satisfied with your offer of compensation then I will be left with no choice but to pursue it further. And I can tell you that there are also others members on the site that feel that same way - cheated? Its not good at all - I expect you will be actually very concerned to hear that.

And not only have I wasted my money - I have wasted so much time searching through profiles that are so inappropriate and also wasted an evening having to write this complaint letter to you. So much for the enjoyable experience - it is far from it!

Please reply with a name and a direct email address that I can contact you with so we can come to some satisfactory resolution.

I am really surprised to be reading these letters. Because at this moment I am having the same problems . I have been on for some months, And to be honest hasn't been happy with who comes through to, lots of people without photo's. I cancelled in July 22, I did the managing my account on the right. That was fine and I got my confirmation of cancelling. I was off in August, but thought I will try again with a 50% discount of £14.99, but with 4 days another £13.41 was taken out, I mad a complaint, I was told I had upgrade. I politely told this lady I did not and I would like my money returned, this did happen, back into my account. I decided I would not continue because it was a waste of time I had come up against a few con men, who gave address in UK but they are living in the middle east. You see in conversation before even meeting them they forget what they typed to you in communication by email. I cancelled my membership on the 25th September, as my membership ends 1st October, I followed the full instructions, right to the end where it tell you to put your email and pass word in, and in 30 minutes you will receive a confirmation of cancellation, but that never arrived. I did it again, the same thing " AND I AM SORRY TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE LEAVING " On the 5th October they went ahead and took 29.99, When I spoke to a girl Karen about my cancellation, and having my account opened in front of me I suddenly noticed " CANCELLED ON THE TIME 9.33 AM I read it to her and she told me ! I HAVE JUST DONE IT ! THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY FRAUDSTERS TO THE PUBLIC. THE BAANK HAS PUT 29.99 INTO MY ACCOUNT BUT MATCH.COM IS REFUSING TO RETURN MY MONEY .£25 to take them to the small court for 29.99, it not the money but the principle ! DISHONESTY, AND ALL THESE AGENCIES ARE AT IT TO MEMBERS. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE RETURN OF MY MONEY. ESLYNE EBONNY REG.[protected].

Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity Lack of Customer service

I cancelled my online renewal which didn't work, and £120 was automatically taken from my account. As I had no proof of cancellation, Iapparentlyy had no case. My email to them, and there response... useful? I think not. No complaints option!
"This is not a question, it is a complaint. But it seems that there is no way for me to get a complaints email or telephone number. I was sure I had cancelled my automatic renew, which I appreciate I must have done something wrong as that didn't work. When I called customer service, she told me to reply to the email I had got from yourselves and explain the situation; which I did. After 2 days of no reply, I call this morning. Your operator, Ali, explained to me that you don't bother to reply to emails that you don't think are necessary for a response, so that is probably why I hadn't heard. I was stunned to hear that that is 'company policy' to not respond. I work in customer service myself, and am appalled that any requests and emails gounrespondedd, regardless of what the query is. Surely Customer Service shouldinvolvee 'customer service'. Now I appreciate that somewhere mycancellationn wasn't confirmed like I thought, but I would like my initial email read through and an response sent. Please see email below: Hi, Thank you for your email. I have a bit of a dilemma. At the end of September I went to my subscription page and cancelled the automatic renewal as I really can't afford another 6months subscription. I thought that was all done, although I didn't get a confirmation email, but I have to be honest, I just assumed that it was automatically done and there was nothing to worry about. Unfortunately I obviously missed a 'confirm' button because this just renewed on the 5th of October. I am a bit stressed as this has gone on my credit card, but I really don't have the money to confirm another 6 months, so would really appreciate if you could look into this for me. I would ideally like my account closed and refunded the 6 months, but I understand that this might be hard to do... But please will you consider refunding me 5months, and I will cover October. Any assistance you can give me in this would be really appreciated. I look forward to your response.

This was there response...

I have been trying to find an email address for advice from them but they keep sending me in circles and be quiet frank its Beginning to really irritate me, .now ive read the above complaints I'm glad I haven't given my card details.it's ashame because I thought questionnaire quite good although 30 minutes to complete it what nonsense it took at least double that.my initial reason to contact them was so basic its laughable I was just trying to change my employment profile they got me down as account manager anyway I haven't been able to change it I'll probably give it out more go later and delete my account if unsuccessful.

Match Infinity is a rip off .they have their Company Registration in Paris. They are not actually there but if you contact Citizens Advice they will take all your information up, and they will give you the European Complaints Commission. in London, be careful what you say there as I made a mistake by saying to a pole that it was run by Eastern Europeans.who know every trick in the book.
Citizans complains said they wanted to build a case up against them, but a warning when I called the European complaints dept in London I said to the man I like your Dutch accent he replied he was polish, (Eastern European) his attitude changed after that toward me and said people only complained as they had nothing better to do.
The other thing to do is write to Anne Robinson on Watchdog, you have to E-Mail her, .BBC Watchdog, New Broadcasting House, Portland Place London W1A IAA.Ask them not to use your name and they will not she will get to the bottom of this. Never sign uo to anything without reading the rules and inform your Credit Card what your doing.I wish you all the best but unless you get Anne Robinson, you will not get anything back. I have learn't.I have put a bar on my Debit Card but they are setting up new companies with new names so check you bank account each day or ask/insist your bank does more. Every Good Wish.Mark Do not write anything on their site they read all e-mails.

Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity Matchaffinity still withdrew the money from my account £89.70

I subscribed to Matchaffinity for a month which cost £14.99 I used the site which works by matching people using psychological profiling - not to impressed with this and very few people on site.

I decided to cancel my subscription within the 48hr period before renewal only to find that Matchaffinity still withdrew the money from my account £89.70 I have contacted them on their helpline and they have refused to refund the full amount as my cancellation did not register on this site. My subscription was due for renewal on 31st Aug and I canceled on 24th August. Poor show from Matchaffinity.

Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity subscription

Back in October I was offered a months trial on Matchaffinity dating site for the sum of £14.00, In November I checked my bank account to find they had taken £104.70 from my account, this was an automatic subscription renewal for 3 months that I did'nt ask for. I have contacted the company and have been told there is a no refund policy? They said I was informed of this in an email and there is nothing they can do about it. I did recieve an email telling me they had taken £14.00 from my account and at the bottom of the email it does say there will be an automatic renewal, I obviously did not read or understand this properly. Is there anything I can do to have my money refunded? I have cancelled the subscription but they are still charging me for their services until February 17th 2012.

Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity Scammers and poor service

Hi

I have just singed up to Match affinity in the hope that it would do what it says on the tin and put me in contact with users in my area who have similar traits and personality.

I set my range to my area and 20 mile radius and the people it brings up are either up ti a hours drive away or have nit logged in for a month plus. I rang and explained and they told me i had used their "services" so they couldn't by policy refund me but said that they would get someone to look at my account and try and sort it and if they couldn't they would look into giving me the refund This never happened and all they offer me is to go on their scamming sister site Match.com (avoid this like the plague trust me)

.I have paid one installment of what i owed them (£60) and have two more to go (signed up for year of £180.

I also get email saying i have a new fan. when i log in the user is not even there and they say the users sometimes delete the profiles. This has happened about 15 times and the hassle you have to go through to delete your account with them it was impossible for them to do it by the time i had got the message and logged into see (instantly)

The customer service team there are robots they just send same response over and over again. They don't seem clever enough to understand. Maybe their help desk has been offshored to another country and their is a communication issue i don't know .

Worse thing is they say i joined on 12th Aug and didn't pull up this complaint until the 22nd which is a outrageous lie as i rang them the day after joining explaining my problems.

They also give one number to get through to and it doesn't out you in a queue just says call back later costing 10p every time u call which may not be much but it took my about 13 attempts to get through

Basically this company is out to rip you off. Just look at the complaints on the internet.

This company should be stopped. It is full of users that have not signed in for months and the search facility itt offers is so limited i have had about 6 valid people to search in my area most not been logged in for a month plus

This is a big scamming site.

One of the techniques they use to market is comparing with other Psycho metric matching sites with the big match.com database at the backend.

One of the scummiest things they do to lure you into signing up is that they send you a fake email from "someone" for which you have to signup to read. This "someone" will say they are already seeing someone and cannot read your future emails.

Another slimy thing they do is they will send you matches that have not logged in 30+ days plus. Anyone not logging in for more than 2 weeks has already found a match or is not seriously looking for a match.

Other features that don't exist are,
Lack of ability to close an uninterested match from the list.
Lack of photo blocking after you have given enough time for the match to decide.

STAY AWAY FROM MATCH AFFINITY SITE!

I went to join Match.com and saw the match affinity questionnaire. Thinking it was for match.com I answered the questions, Now I find it isn't match.com and the people on there are in no way matched with me. There is no one to email to cancel the subscription.. I will be contacting trading standards. The complaints procedure on there is non existent. Stay away from this site.

Affiny.co.uk / MatchAffinity Scammers?

I joined this site and paid £180 (paid in £60 installments over 3 months) the site is effectively useless to me as the only users that it brings up in my area have not logged on for over a month. I therefore complained and was told because i had used there services i couldn't get a refund (there services being a couple of email i sent which happened to be to uses who had nit logged on for 3 months)

I also get many emails saying i have someone added me as their favorites. When i go there there is no sign of the user. I am told that some users delete their account but this is a lie because it must have happened 10 times now and i logged on as soon as i got it so it would be impossible for them to ring up and cancel their account so soon after sending it. Especially as it took me about 4 hours keep trying to get through to their useless excuse for customer service (worse i have ever come across)

i have kept screenshots as evidence of their messages as one staff member said my reason was a valid one but they cant do anything about it. Also the emails that said i had a fan when there wasn't no one

I have now pulled my card so they can't take the next installment out. I am willing to let them take me to court as i will not be ripped off by anyone.

Do you think they will and do you think i have a leg to stand on. is there any advice you can offer me at all? The site appears to be a bit of a scam site to me.

I have uploaded a couple of their messages. The site is a joke because they automatically renew your account and you can't turn if off until you have paid all your installments. Lot of people complaining about this on the internet

Can anything be done?

The emails show the 50 users available to me to contact out the whole site.

I have also added my search settings which is what i want to search for and also the users i am getting. The few that are on line (about 5 or 6) live an hour or plus away which is not convenient to me. The rest have either not logged in for a month or even further away. I am also doubting if half these people are even real but i have no proof

please help because i don't want to obviously pay no more for 'services' which i can't use and i want other people to avoid this rip off

Thanks

Lee
