I expected a lot from a school that supposedly offered a "challenging curriculum, discipline and a safe leaning environment." Instead i found i was offered a poor curriculum, absolutely no discipline, i.e a freshman assaulted a Lt Col in the school, and as far as a safe learning environment goes, yes, i believe a school located in the territory of about five rival gangs, a place in which children sneak in drugs and knives, and a place in which many kids, including myself have been robbed, is a very safe learning environment. I thank you people who have previously tried to inform these asinine and exploited fifteen and sixteen year olds about who they think they are trusting to receive a supposed "quality" education from. The former principal himself does not even have an associates degree, nor any prior teaching experience before becoming the school's principal. I am very disappointed with every aspect of the school; it is a deplorable place located in one of Chicago's worst neighborhoods. some of the students still have not been seduced into going to war, but sadly, many of them are. I feel the jrotc programs should be abolished from the schools of the United States to prevent further promotion of the horrors of violence and war. Contrary to what these brainwashed children believe, the instructors offer many opportunities for the kids to become officers in the military, taking the upperclassmen to college fairs that only have service academies, and the offering of ROTC scholarships and opportunities for going to a military college are a few examples. I sadly regret even considering this pathetic garbage of a school and am very thankful to have transferred out of that [censored]hole.

oh and if you go into the military for school, you are not stupid because no matter ENLISTED or an OFFICER the marine Corp makes you go to school and if you do a tour of duty then once you finish you come back and finish school, and you also get your GI bill which gives you thousands of dollars to spend on a college education, so before you start saying random ### how about you get your facts straight, and stop being a ### ###
Ok first of all, everyone who says the school sucks doesn't see that its only going to be 4 years old now. There are going to be problems and second of all who the he'll said it was brain washing kids to join the military, most of the kids that go there only went cause they wanted to get ready to join and they new the school would help then. But I doubt that you would know that because you are one of the ### birds that no one wanted in the school, you were one of those kids that were wearing the uniform wrong, you were selling drugs, and everytime you would get introuble you would blame it on someone else and everytime you had bad grades you would blame the teachers because they were not teaching you, but I bet you were one of the [censored] kids that were in the back talking to your friends and not caring about anything that had to do with your school work, so I'm glad you are gone because no one wanted your stupid gay ### at that school anyways so ya SEMPIER FI! I have been offered rank many times but rajected it because i feel it's useless, i go to school for an education not to play soldier.
This is so true! the school has got to be one of the worst schools in chicago. "wowyouaresomesickliars" has abviously been brainwashed already lol. But this school does suck ### though, you're a total [censored] if you like it there. The teachers dont care about their students, they will pass you even if you dont deserve to pass, this means that unprepared kids are beimg let into the next grade UNPREPARED! and CPS wonders why they have so many dropouts. oh and what you said about "not going to war, some kids (LIKE ME) go into the service for their educational benefits., such as paying for our college" you are a ###! there is no such thing as going into the military to get an education! wow your instructors really did a number on you! every enlisted person and officer in ALL of the service academies see action in some point of their career, if an education to pay tuition is what you are looking for then you will need to go to college WITH an ROTC scholarship. This means that you are required to be taught how to kill in college so that you can apply these things in the military which you will be obligated to do after finishing college! But many times the people with an ROTC scholarship remain in service until they are KIA or they leave the military and they cant find a job afterwards (hence so many homeless veterans). An alternative to this would be leaving that waste of Chicago public Funds school and find a better school for yourself, there are many excellent public schools out there for you, so that then you can get some sort of a scholarship to big name University and not only that, you will also be prepared to go to college! MMSA is NOT preparing you for college BELIEVE ME! Every hispanic kid is taking Spanish for Non-Speakers! its like re learning english. The education you are recieving in this school is far below the minimum you should be exposed to and this school really does not do a very good job in teaching its "Cadets" in anything, except of course their precious drill teams, where would we be without the drill team right? There is no life if there is no drill team in that stupid school. And did you say "GD's, SD's, 'Latin Kings, and Cobras all get along in that school. we rarely have school fights and with our new dean we've weeded out 23 unwanted cadets"? Where do i start, .. Ok, There is no such thing as rival gang members leaving their bandanas at the door when they walk into the school building, idk who you have been talking to but gangmembers dont care if they're fighting in school, or hitting a girl, or storming out of a teacher's classroom, so why would they get along with a rival gangmember? The Dean, Master SGT Housley, is something i find very comical, all he must do is yell at everyone, but is he actually certified as a dean? I will not even bother in letting you know who I am "Wowyouaresomesickliars" because you're probably some idiot freshman or sophomore who knows nothing about the school, and i have done things for that school that you never will or even think can be done, (my rank was higher that yours is btw, if i was still in there i would be allowed to tell your sorry ### what to do). I know waaaay more than you ever will about that asinine place and you better start getting your head out of your ### and stop being so damn naive and believing everything you hear from your instructors before you end up graduating from that place unprepared for life after high school.
SIKE. i go to this school. our instructors are most certainly NOT brainwashing their cadets into doing anything. as for the school trips visiting service academies those are totally and completely optional. as much as you'd think that its in a bad neighborhood, its a lot better compared to other parts of chicago. our teachers do their jobs well and we have a new principal. so what if some kids are thinking of going into the service? not all marines/seaman/air men/soldiers actually go into war. some kids (LIKE ME) go into the service for their educational benefits., such as paying for our college. and maybe you transfered out of our "[censored]hole" because you couldn't handle it. for all anyone knows you could be some pathetic loser who couldn't pass art. going to that school is a CHOICE. KIDS CHOOSE TO GO THERE. WE CHOOSE TO GO INTO THE MILITARY. i love my school, and i'm willing to defend my school at any cost. as for the gangs, well you'll find gangs everywhere. people you know are probably in gangs too, you just don't know it.
