Makelaar / Teaming up with the house owner so that they get away without paying back deposite money (Borgsom)

Keus Makelaardij in ede

I rented an apartment through this real estate agent in te city of Ede in the Netherlands where they run their business. The first thing they did was asking me for one month rent deposite money plus the first month rent to be paid to them IN CASH, which sounded strange to me as it is not common in the Netherlands. I did not meet the house owner as they are handeling everything. Regardless the high, nonlogic rent and regardless that I rented a funished house WITHOUT a TV; the most painful part was that they did not return any of my calls after they got the money, they just asked me to start contacting the owner who in turn never answered except if the rent is one day late. Very bad service, non professional.

The worst is: when my rent contract came to an end, the owner said that he will transfer the deposite money to my account. Few days later he sent me a letter to my new address saying that a heating radiator was broken and that it will cost me all my deposite money. He sent me an invoice from a reparation company, a piece of paper that a 12 years old boy can type on a computer. Bottom line; he wanted to keep the deposite.

So here I turned to my professional Keus Makelaardij (real estate agent), who I signed the contract in their offices and paid them the deposite in cash. What they did?? They told that they can not do anything with the owner and that it is my own problem, and all what they did is that they got the owner another prey to rent the apartment and MAY BE they got some extra money from my stolen deposite money (may be, who knows). These guys where very inprofessional. There service was so crapy, as soon as they get the money in their hand, you are on your own...you will loose your money...stay away from Keus Makelaardij in Ede in the Netherlands...it is my advice: free for you, yet cost me 900 Euros...
