Maaco Franchise management / harassment / bullying

This has been my second time working and Maaco and I only came back to Maaco because I was working for my landlord and was tired of chasing my check around when it came time to get in... First time I left Maaco was because the painter had missed a day drunk and come in drunk and because I was working on what needed to be helped being as a new worker he started verbally assaulting me screaming at me to the point where the company next door could here along with anybody on the street and when I brought it to my boss Kevin he had told me I needed to learn to get along with people. I only came in to Maaco to get my record of employment where Kevin kept on putting it off so I had to keep on coming back we're eventually he asked if I wanted part-time work, I have never worked a part-time day since I started. I'm work my butt off to help try to make the goal of the million dollars in the Maaco calendar year by coming in at 6 in the morning and most days staying till as late. He only paid me any hours every paycheck and apparently I was supposed to cash out the Dover times at the end of the month but with all the hard difficult jobs they gave me Blake stripping paint down off of entire vehicles or grinding gravel Guard from the rocker panels or the insides of the doors while everybody else got easy jobs that didn't take coarse sandpaper at all. I had lots of issues with the painter as we were in a physical relationship but when things went sour he started focusing his attention on me and Nick picking calling me names stupid yelling and screaming at me in front of the whole shop making sure that I worked by myself there is a time that he attempted to pull my pants down there are times where he would be watching from the distance knowing I'm doing something wrong and wait till the absolute last minute she come and tear it down or yell and scream at me calling me dumb. And because of the first time when I quit I didn't feel like I could talk to the boss about it because every time we talk about it they would twist my words around or change the subject ignoring the valid points that I was making which is what led to my me being fired I told him I wanted my Punch Out punching cards print out so I could go back and calculating what he owed me and he told me I couldn't have them because of privacy issues even though a few months earlier when we were going through it and talking about it he was showing me other co-workers punch-in Punch-Out times

Maaco Franchise body shop, vehicle/auto

I brought my car last November to this body shop. Paid $1, 200 cash to repair the rusty part on the rear panel of my car. They told me that they need to cut the rusty metal part and it will be replaced with bew metal plate. After 5 months and a half, the rust showed up again exactly in the same spot which suggested that they did not replaced the metal plate as per contract. I brought it back yesterday, June 21, my contact estimator have told me to bring it on Monday as return job. I called today, June 22 to find out if I can bring it back today, however. the estimator told me that the owner Billy Palumbo had said that the rust part guarantee was only for 90 days. My point is they never replaced the metal plate as per contract that I paid for. I will file a lawsuit against this MAACO in Linden, NJ

Maaco Franchise auto body repair work

Do not take your vehicles to the cocoa maaco shop unless you want the worst customer service from the manager, "vinny!" drive to melbourne and see chris.
I postponed having my elantra painted after going to the maaco's in cocoa on three different occasions and getting estimates from $900-1200 for the work. I didn't like the customer service and didn't feel confident of the results I would get from the cocoa store. So, I took it to chris at maaco's in melbourne and got an excellent paint job and a great warranty for less than I was quoted from the cocoa location. Chris is caring, gives you an honest, just and fair price and stands behind their work. He delivers excellent customer service.
A few months later my spouse accidentally backed her car out of our garage right into the elantra's front fender. We took her car to chris to have the right rear fender fixed. They did an outstanding job, mixed the paint perfectly and you couldn't even tell it had ever been repaired! Chris gave us a quote for the elantra and we said we would get it fixed later.
I was too weak from having major surgery recently so she took the car to the cocoa maaco's for us to get an estimate in may 2017. The price was very close to the price that chris in the melbourne's maaco's quoted us so we decided to let them do the work thinking we would get the same results. Were we so-o-o-o-o wrong!
If you don't mind being demeaned, devalued, and given terrible, rude and condescending customer service then go see vinny in cocoa. He is the best at being the worst and maintains a "I could not care less attitude!"
Vinny quoted us around $400 to fix the left front fender which was around the same price that chris had quoted us. When we went to pick up the car I noticed the spacing between the repaired left fender and the hood was still wider than the spacing between the right fender and hood. Also, the front edge of the fender was still overlapping the headlight cover. When I entered the store vinny was the first person I made eye contact with. He just looked at me and didn't greet me. The lady standing in front of him said hello to me. I replied then looked around the room for someone else to help me. I looked to my right where another employee was. He immediately got up and looked at me as if he would be the one to help me. I asked him to go to my car with me. I introduced myself to him then asked what his name was. He said, "chris." I first complimented the fender paint job and the ding was gone. Afterwards I pointed out my concerns with the alignment of the fender. When I was almost done the first person I had made eye contact with that didn't greet me as I entered came out and immediately started talking in a defensive, condescending and escalated tone. My attention and conversation now was focused on him. I first addressed his mannerism toward me and the car. I said, "you don't have to raise your voice!" is this how you want our conversation to go? My defusing tactic was not working on him. Obviously this is how is manages the customers there. I started over pointing out how the bumper was not lined up properly. Vinny became very defensive and as he spoke his voice continually became sharper and louder as he belittled me for not being grateful that they even agreed to work on my car! In my opinion his attitude and demeanor was defensive, non-empathetic while he maintained his stance of "what do you expect for that amount of money?" his attitude was like he did me a favor of knocking out a center bump and spot painting the front fender for just under four hundred dollars! (Little did he know that I had already received an estimate from chris in the melbourne maaco's for around the same price which would have been done perfectly. What really shocked me was when vinny said, "if you wanted a perfect job then you should have paid for a new fender! I had had enough at this point! I was doing all I could to not loose my temper with him. I replied,"so what you are telling me is that unless I pay for a new fender the job you do won't be perfect? The fender won't be lined up properly and will overlap the headlight?"as he abruptly walked away I said,"who is the manger here? Unfortunately it is him. Chris did his best to correct the spacing while we were there.
From my experience if you want to pay hundreds of dollars for collision and paint work and don't care about the results then go see vinny on clearlake rd.in cocoa.in my opinion and by the way he treated me his attitude is that he is doing you a favor by working on your car and you should accept whatever results you get! He'll interact with you in a rude, demeaning and condescending way. He is the worst of the worst!
Quite the opposite: the manager at the melbourne's location is chris. He is caring, gives you an honest, just and fair price and stands behind their work. He delivers excellent customer service.

Maaco Franchise poor service

I don't know where to start. I am not a writer so bear with me. Paint on the windows, carpet, inside the doors, tires (driver front and rear), wheel wells, brake caliper (driver front) and for the life of me I can't figure out how the door sill trim got cracked it must have been hit with something.
This is a 1996 BMW Z3 painted at 1650 Silas Creek Pkwy in Winston Salem, NC. [protected] The project was wrote up by Alex Mabe. The job was to install an after-market bumper cover, address the driver side door for a dent and paint the car. I delivered the car on 1/15/2016. After 2 weeks or so (02/02/2016) I decided to call to see what was going on since I hadn't heard a word. I talked to Alex and enquired on the progress of the vehicle.
Alex said that he had called me 2 or 3 times to let me know the vehicle was ready. I never received a call from Alex. I asked him if he had left a message; Alex stated that with the type of phone that he had he was incapable of leaving a voice message………. WHAT the hell is that? At that point I knew something was wrong. Alex said that the car had been ready for a few days. I asked him about the bumper cover and he said that it was ready for pick up. I told him fine I would be there shortly. I live about 20 minutes away. I arrive at MAACO and see the car. The bumper cover was hanging off of the front of the car and had been PAINTED! I head inside to talk to Alex and the owner informed me that he had sent Alex home sick and that he would take care of the matter. So I informed the owner that I had just talked to Alex 20 minutes ago and he told me the car was ready for pickup. The owner explained to me how they tried everything to get the bumper cover on and that they could not do it. So why did you paint it? He blew up told me my vehicle was a piece of a crap only because he couldn't install the bumper cover. I did not deserve this. I did nothing wrong.
When it came to the point that there was nothing else that could be done all work should have ceased and I should have been contacted IMMEDIATELEY it never happened. Now I have to find someone else to install the bumper cover hope and pray it can be done without a respray, clean the carpets, fix the cracked sill trim and clean the paint off my tires, windows and brake caliper.
This was by far the most unprofessional service I have ever had. I have had vehicles painted by MAACO before and never experienced such rude and disrespectful individuals in my life. I'm 59 years old.
If you guys condone this type of behavior it is really sad. I did nothing to deserve this. If you guys don't want people of color in your establishment just put up a sign. This is the only reason I can come up with for this treatment. I did not deserve this……

Maaco Franchise paint and preparations

12 Feb 2009 I received an estimate to repaint our 1996 Dodge Ram 3500. The estimate was to include stripping the existing paint to the metal due to pealing factory paint and new paint would not adhere to the original primer, as I was told by Dave, the owner. The top quality paint job was chosen with an extended 5 year warranty. "Six coats of clear sealer was applied", so I was told by Dave.

The first paint job immediately showed signs of particles in the paint but we were told that this is normal. I could also see an uneven surface along the bedside indicating that the paint had not been stripped to the metal. "Reconditioned", as stated on the receipt. After about a year the paint had turned yellow, supposed to be white, especially noticeable on the hood. When I took it back I was told they would redo the truck at no charge because of a failure in the material.

A few years later I started noticing cracks in the paint surface. We had moved out of the area and were busy with other details so I wasn't able to get back to the Maaco shop until around July 2015 and when we did Dave was on vacation. His assistant took pictures and said Dave would be getting in touch with us as soon as he got back. I spoke with Dave on 29 July 2015 and he said the best he would do is to repaint the truck for 50% off the regular price. Since we have lost our trust in Dave we did not want to take him up on his offer, mainly because there would be no guarantee and the distance we now live from his shop, approximately 3-1/2 hours drive.

We also payed Dave $2, 000.00 to paint our horse trailer a matching color to the truck. He was asked to seal the top since it leaked. The top had to be done a second time because it leaked first time it rained. He said he would apply the same material they use for truck bed liners which was flexible and would make a good seal and he would fiberglass all the seams. I noticed that they had broken the skylight over the tack room and didn't say anything. The skylight was old and needed to be replaced but to have been told it was broken would have given me time to replace it before it rained and got our horse tack wet. When I replaced the skylight the new "flexible" material on the roof cracked. Dave redid the area and repainted it. Upon checking it this past July 2015 I found the paint curling up or pealing. The seams were opening up. Another reason not to trust Dave with any new paint jobs.

My attitude is not in question. The owner of the company, Dave Gutierrez is the one with an attitude. He starts out to be your best friend telling all the things that were wrong with my paint and then all the things he was going to do to make a perfect paint job. The perfect paint job did not happen. Maaco Franchise bad paint job worst customer service

I brought my 1985 El Camino for a full paint job. Antionio walked around the car obviously blind folded and gae me a price of 2363. Few days later called me back to tell me of some dents they came across. Guess he didn't see them on the first look. I told him I would give him another 1000 for the dents & he agreed. When I got the car back the paint job was terrible, my radio & the new tint on my windows were messed up. They said I brought the car in that way. Which is a lie. Something has to be done about that shop. Now I not only have a bad paint job but I have to get new tint and have someone fix my radio. I would never bring or recommend this shop to anyone. They are terrible. I hope you will look into this matter ASAP

Maaco Franchise 1985 el camino

I bought my 1985 el camino to Maaco at 242 Dover Road S. Toms RIver NJ MO236 The first time they took a quick walk around car & estimated 2363 Then they call a few days later & complained about all these dents . So I told them they had 1000.00 more to fix them. They told me the car was ready went to pic up and never put moldings back on . So I left again. Came back 3 days later only to find my windows & radio didn't work and they distroyed the new tint on my windows. Very disappointed with the owner, the shop and the way things were handled. Would not bring a car again or recommend them. I am writing to the better Business Bueau too. This has to stop. I am a very angry customer . I would hope that you would look into this urgent matter.

Maaco Franchise poor paint and body work

MAACO gave me substandard paint and body work. @ store M2416 at a cost of $2500+. On a 1997 Mercury Cougar. Date of loss/ payment, July, 20th 2013.
In July, 2013 a full front to back body work/body touch-up ( prep-work ) and full Tri-color paint from front to back with guaranteed rear bumper repair. Allignment and shimming of newly installed hinges on driver side door. Where all of these items were discussed to, and agreed upon prior to start of Paint and body work.
Between 7-2013 and the date of this complaint my 97 Merc Cougar has been returned to the MAACO service center 4+ times. Return issues to date are: Paint wrinkling/cracking ** Severe bubbling and separation of paint on hood. A wavy and irregular surface remains on the hood. ** 100+ pin head size specks/spots all across the hood, roof and trunk deck. ** Clear drip ** Large paint chip painted over without being smoothed/prepped. ** Brand new stainless steel exhaust tips finish ruined when removal of excess overspray was attempted. ** Rear bumper initial repair inferior and was in need of fixing in less than 6 months of July 2013. MAACO tech/estimator Ryan Hemersla also picked at damaged area in July 2014 with thumbnail causing area to be more noticeable. Thus telling me that better future repair is needed. ** No repair of drivers side door hinges performed ( shimming/adjustment) as agreed upon initially, thus top corner of door continues to strike and chip brand new paint when closing door. I was told " OOPS we forgot". ** In my opinion EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OVERSPRAY in wheel well and undercarriage which I spent hours repainting gloss black. ** On one return to M2416 door nicks/paint from a white car and a large smudge/dull mark was left on passenger side of cougar. An I don't care attitude is emerging. ** On 12-18-2014 a scheduled return of 97 Cougar to M2416 center ended with no work performed during the 2 days it was there. In addition I found the Cougar was left outside, overnight, unlocked and unprotected during those 2 days. I retrieved the 97 Cougar on Dec. 19th 2014 because I felt my car was now in much more danger of severe damage due to the negligence and incompetence I was unable to ignore. ** At this time and date more than half of the issues in this complaint have yet to be repaired. ** At a certain point a line has to be drawn to protect what is left of my car. Which has lead to my campaign of complaints and possible legal action.

Maaco Franchise upset about all services

I have had an overall terrible experience with the Maaco in Richmond, CA. I took my car in December of 2013 to get my drivers side mirror replaced. I knew that they would have to order mirror, paint it, and mount it. I was fine with that. In order to mount the mirror, my door panel needed to be removed. I don't use my trunk often, so a couple of months after I got my mirror replaced I tried to pop my trunk from inside my vehicle with the pop trunk button that is located on my drivers side door. I can't even push the button in to pop the trunk. The lady at Maaco said that they aren't responsible for my trunk button and it is am electrical problem. I can see if I could actually press my button and my trunk not popping, it being an electrical problem. But I can't even press my trunk button, it's stuck. The problem is the placement of the door panel. I have never had any other auto body repairs to my car before, and my panel had never been removed before I took it to macco. But that is not all...Now the paint on my mirror that was replaced is peeling. The lady at Maaco said it's because of rocks hitting the mirror and they aren't responsible for touching it up. If rocks made you paint peel, then my whole car should be peeling. Terrible customer service, terrible prep work done by the technitian, terrible placement work, just an all around terrible experience. I would never go back there. I feel like Maaco owes me. All I want is my mirror properly painted and my trunk button fixed. I'm a customer who paid for a service that was rushed and not properly done. Absolutely upset about everything.

Maaco Franchise very rude and unprofessional manager

I have my concern regarding rust underneath my car and called Lisle office..spoke to Amish /"manager" I explained the rust underneath vehicle...he ask me if I can be at his shop by 4:30pm and he said this is a simple issue...I have to leave my work early and drive two hours from city Chicago...when I got there...the older employee greeted me .. apparently is the father of Amish ..he said we do not have car lift equipment to fix the problem underneath the car...
Amish came and look at my car said too bad ..its your problem not ours...sorry ..go somewhere else...
I heard lot good thing of Maaco...However, this is the first and last time that I will never go back again at that location...
They absolutely have no respect to their customer...

Maaco Franchise dishonest - incompetent

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received at the Menomonee Falls Center M2407. 13306 W. Silver Spring Road Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin 53051 Phone:[protected]
On 9/15/12 I delivered a brand-new tailgate to have it painted. The tailgate was still boxed, in fact double boxed. The manager told me that they would have to open the box and inspect the tailgate to ensure that the tailgate matched my 2008 Ford F150. A worker unpacked and inspected the tailgate and said everything was good to go. He offered to take the packaging and throw it out for me at which time I told him only if he is 100% sure the tailgate was okay. He said yes and took the packaging. The manager said I would have the tailgate back in a day or two. I also received a quote to have damage repaired on a 2005 Ford Five Hundred. On 9/17/12 I dropped off this car to have it repaired and painted. On 9/21/12 my wife and I stopped by to pick up the tailgate and car. A worker drove the truck to the rear of the building where he installed the tailgate. When he pulled up to the front of the building, I was shocked to see two large dents in the newly painted tailgate, at which time the worker said, “just don’t touch it with your hand and you won’t notice it”. I told him that was a new tailgate and that I could see the dents from 25 feet away. I went back inside to show the on-duty manager. He came outside, looked at the dented tailgate, shrugged his head, and said, “We will make it right for you”. I left the tailgate with them. A day later I received a call from the manager. His first words to me were, “the tailgate was damaged before we painted it”. For 15 minutes we went back and forth. The bottom line is the tailgate was delivered new, inspected and okayed by his staff, and damaged while in their care. Frustrated I finally told him to call me back when he was ready to make things right. No call from him on Monday, no call from him on Tuesday. Finally I called him at which time he said they were going to repair and paint the tailgate. Well yesterday I picked up the tailgate. Hoping this was the end of this ordeal, I now found that the sides and inside of the tailgate were not painted with the final coat, and that the surface of the tailgate has specs of dirt embedded in the paint. As for my Ford Five Hundred, they left a section inside of the door jamb painted only with primer and did not paint it with the finish coat.
The quality of the work performed on my two vehicles was sub-par to say the least. Not only was I accused of delivering a damaged tailgate, but the whole experience had convinced me not to take either the tailgate or the car back to have them fix what they should have done right the first time. I will never use Maaco again and I will be sure to discourage family and friends to patronize this location as they are completely inept.

Maaco Franchise not pleasing the customer as agreed

I took my vehicle to get repaired and painted at Macco after I had just come back from completing a tour in Iraq with the US Army. When I took it there I talked to Mr. Connell Fuller and he gave me an estimate on my 1981 280 ZX, after he did the estimate we went back to his desk and he made a few phone calls and said that he can paint it fix the minor damage to my front right bumper and remove the rust from the vehicle for 2, 300. To make a very long story short and to the point my vehicle look like crap and Mr. Connell Fuller told me to bring it back Nov 1 2010 today and he would fix what was wrong and do as we agreed, I am missing my emblems, the bumper is not on straight, there's rust still coming through, I have no fog lights replaced and his boss Jerimiah is VERY VERY Un profrssional he can careless that I was a customer and told me that he was not going to let no one there do another thing to my car and what was done is done and there's no warranty on the work that was done to my vehicle, all of that cause he got mad I called the BBB and Macco Headquaters and made a complaint, now im out of 2, 300 and my car still look like crap. I have before and after picture's as well and I have some recorded conversation and all of my phone records when I was calling Macco on a daily to weekly basis. Please beware of Macco on 11313 N Broadway Ext...I will put an update after I pursue this issue a little further. Only thing I wanted was to get my little car fixed and painted and it became a BIG problem Geeeessshhhhh.

Maaco Franchise scam

We took our 91 Capri to be painted at Maaco Auto Painting on Hensley Street in Richmond California and when we went to get our car there were cracks in the windshield of the car.

When asked why we were not contacted of the crack, they said they didn’t have to fix it. According to the Automotive Act of 2000, the legislation says that a company has to notify the customer of any damage to the car.

If this is the case, we were not notified of any damaged windshield by Maaco!

I took my 1970 Chevy Chevelle into the Maaco on 1402 E. Grant. I absolutely love the finished product. I brought it in for an overall paint job, I was quoted $1, 200 for base coat clear coat with factory paint stripes and my car had minor chips and scratches which Brian recommended I fix. I brought it in on a Monday and was told it would take three business days. Brian called me on Tuesday and said I could pick it up anytime. It is rare to find a company that does quality work and will get your car to you BEFORE they said they would. The manager of the shop was Brian he understood exactly what I wanted and didn’t push me to get something I didn’t want. He even brought me into the shop so I could see the different examples of the types of paint jobs. I am very pleased with the customer service at this shop and I highly recommend you come in.

maaco's business is not franchising. it's business is robbing you of your retirement savings and leaving you holding the bag. you take the risk they reap the reward. more often then not as your maaco folds maaco will assist other maacos in your area to buy your slightly used equipment for pennies on the dollar. bad business is the legacy of driven brands / maaco.

Maaco Franchise lies and very poor paint job

My 2006 Nissan Armada was keyed around the entire vehicle. I spoke with Albert at the Maaco on Grant street and he said that the best option for me was the $999.00 paint job option. He assured me that it would look just like new. I live 250 miles away and when he called me to pick up my car I drove over the very next day. When I arrived I looked the car over very good and found several runs in the pain and one area that actually cracked. He did not fix all the dings as promised and it had an orange peel look all over the vehicle. He said it would cost an additional $400.00 to make it look right. He gave me a deal of $200.00. I thought I was getting a great paint job for a good price. I would not recommend anyone go to Maaco if they do not want throw away their hard earned money. I pick the car back up in four days an if it is not as we discussed I am filing a complaint with the better business bureau and a claim in small claims court. We all work to hard for our money to be lied to and taken for a ride. All customers please be well aware of the lies they tell in order to get your money.

Maaco Franchise don't trust them

The statement below is solely of my personal experience I had at a particular Macco facility in Burien, WA. This statement is not to discredit Maaco as an entity nor other independently owned facilities, but rather gives vital information to my fellow consumers about the shady business practices at the Maaco Collision Center in Burien, WA. Listed below are the Pros and Cons

PROS:

• It only cost $50.00 for them to tow my vehicle from my residence to their facility.

• Gave me a lower estimate (price) for parts, repairs and re-paint than other repair shops.

• Apparently put my vehicle’s repairs ahead of other vehicles. (Key word; Apparently)
• Did not charge me for storage of my vehicle.

• Was offered a Maaco T-shirt. Oh whoopee doo!

• Decent framework. (Which I was satisfied with at first)

I know you’re thinking, “what more could I’ve ask for”, but remember sometimes your good deeds can be overshadowed by your bad ones.

CONS:
• Bad Customer service: I had to call them constantly for the status of the repairs instead of them calling me and giving me updates.

• My vehicle was completed well pass the day they initially said it would be done.

• Ended up paying hundreds of dollars more to keep my rental car because my vehicle wasn’t finished.

• Once I received my vehicle back, the paint job was mediocre at best. They missed quite a few spots (and I paid for spot and match). They didn’t even paint the jams. Their solution was giving me a can of touch up paint so I could do it myself even though I paid for their full services.

• The Hood, which had to be replaced, doesn’t close all the way on one side, so now I’m left with a rattling hood. (As of some one gently rapping, rattling at my Cadillac door)-Edgar Allan Poe-

• On the grill that was replaced there was paint. Bad prep job.

• I had loose and exposed wiring inside the engine space.

• Dirty interior. They didn’t even bother to wipe the inside of my car down with a wet cloth, just left it dirty. It would only be courteous to the costumer if they did.

• Received a threatening voice mail from the Owner

• Not even after a week of having my vehicle the paint is starting to chip away.

• The stripes on my right fender that was supposed to be painted on are actually stickers. They are much darker than my other original stripes on my car and are now peeling off giving me curly curlicues.

Now what do you think? Still want to take your vehicle to Burien Maaco? I paid for services I didn’t even get. My opinion as far as the body paint is concerned; if you hold no sentimental attachment to your vehicle by all means go to Burien Macco. However, if you do, I recommend you visit your local Ace Hardware store, buy some paint and do it yourself or find a real reputable collision center.

I was given an estimate of $3, 000.00 plus an additional $50.00 for the tow of my vehicle making the grand total of my repairs $3, 050.00 (tax free). They towed my vehicle from my residence (a town home community) to their facility on Saturday, 3/13/2010. I appreciated them for doing that especially since the homeowners association had a problem with my vehicle being on the premises due to the damages. On Wednesday, 3/17/2010, I gave Burien Maaco a $1500.00(their estimate) cashiers check so they could start ordering the parts needed and get the repair process started immediately.

On Monday, 3/22/2010, I called Burien Maaco to see if the parts had been received, and was told they had been received. I called later that week to get updated on the status of my vehicle. Monday, 3/29/2010 I called again to check on the status on my vehicle and was told the most major parts were on the vehicle, but a couple had to be ordered (I thought all the parts had been ordered, I guess not!) and that it would be painted on Wednesday 3/31/2010. On Thursday, 4/1/2010, again I called Burien Maaco to check on the status of my vehicle. Their costumer service rep had told me that my car should be ready the next day (4/2/2010), later afternoon or Monday (4/5/2010). Also, I was told that all what needed to be done to my vehicle was the paint job! On Friday (2nd) they actually called us (wow!), but told us the same thing that was in the previous two sentences.

I was scheduled to take my rental car back to Hertz on Friday, but ended up paying an extra $300.00 to keep it so that I’ll have transportation to and from work. I called them on Saturday (April 3rd) praying that I can get my car so I could return the rental car and get some of my money back. Apparently the guy working on my vehicle at the time had a family crisis and was off that day so my car never got worked on. Though I did sympathized with this guy’s misfortune, I failed to understand what that had to do with me. The customer still has to be satisfied and the job still has to be done regardless, besides it was costing me money (Burien Macco failed to understand this).

On Monday (4/5/2010; 2:00pm) I decided to pay Burien Maaco a little visit to see with my own two eyes exactly what condition my car was in. To my dismay and disbelief my vehicle was not painted. It wasn’t even prepped to be painted and to make matters worse one of the headlights that had to be replaced wasn’t even installed yet According to them they didn’t receive that part yet. Once my boyfriend got involved things got a little crazy. The vehicle in question is my boyfriend’s car and since I was the one responsible for the accident, he wanted me to take care of everything (a sort of lesson if you will).

On Tuesday (4/6/2010; 11:20am) my boyfriend and I went to Burien Maaco. It was very clear that my boyfriend was upset. He walked in and asked to speak with the manager. My boyfriend (with a stern voice) explained to the manager how unsatisfied he was with the whole situation. The manager (so whom we thought was the manager at the time) kindly decided to take $200.00 off the original price to compensate for the rental car fee and the bad costumer service despite the fact that he said he had already given us discounts on the parts and services. That courteous gesture made my boyfriend and I very happy, after all, making a costumer happy should be the prime goal of a company. Am I right?

The grand total now was $2850.00. My boyfriend paid $1300.00 via check card plus if you add the $1500.00 we put down for the parts that adds up to $2800.00 with the addition of $50.00 for the tow. The person at Burien Macco who printed out the invoice forgot to charge us for the tow (their mistake). My boyfriend and I did not realize it either because we were so anxious to get our vehicle back. The following day (4/7/2010; Wednesday) I received two voice mails from the owner on my cell phone. The first voice mail he left me basically said that he’d heard my boyfriend got involved with the situation and that we still owed him money. He wanted me to call him immediately after I received his voice mail. I was unable to do so at the time because my cell phone was misplaced, but once I found it I notice the two voicemails. A couple of hours later from the first voice mail he leaves another. The second voice mail is what angered my boyfriend and I. The owner (clearly upset) basically said that not only didn’t you guys pay for the tow; we still owed him money for parts to the car he apparently paid extra for (in the amount of $200.00 making it $1700.00 not $1500.00 for the parts; why weren’t we told this in the first place?).

According to the owner, apparently some of the parts he’d ordered cost more than what was on our original invoice/estimate. At this time I’m thinking, “ what parts is he talking about?” Everything from parts to services/labor that we paid for was on our original invoice, which they printed out and gave to us. There was never any mention of extra parts or fees until this time, besides how were we suppose know if they never contacted us to let us know. Also, he (the owner) made it very clear that if we did not contact him by the end of that day he will be taking us to court. It almost sounded like he was trying to say, if we didn’t pay him what we owed him, he was going to send some goons over to our residence to take the parts off the car we apparently didn’t pay for (I still have the voice mails to contest this). My boyfriend took this as a threat.

The owner was really trying to blame us for everything, as if we robbed him of funds. All this for $200.00. My boyfriend called him not long after he heard that second voicemail. Once my boyfriend started talking to the owner on the phone (angry but calm) my boyfriend said to the owner, that I’ll be more than happy to come back to your facility and pay the tow fee but will not pay an additional $200.00 worth of fees that wasn’t on the original invoice unless he (the owner) had proof or receipts for clarification. The owner said, sure, come on in and lets meet face to face and I’ll show you the receipts (the owner had just got back off of vacation). My boyfriend went in early Thursday morning (4/8/2010). This would be the first time my boyfriend and the owner actually met. My boyfriend went in, he and the owner shook hands, and they sat down in the owner’s office to discuss the situation. According to my boyfriend, when he asked to see the receipts for the additional payments for the parts, the owner started beating around the bush, misleading him in other words. Till this day my boyfriend still doesn’t understand what the owner was saying to him nor did he ever get too see the receipts/proof of the extra fees. (It was something about Taxes he thinks)

My boyfriend asked the owner to come outside so that he could show him the inadequacies (as listed above-CONS) on his vehicle. He opened up the hood to show the owner the loose wiring in the engine space (he left the hood open, big mistake). My boyfriend saw how annoyed the owner got after seeing the inadequacies on the vehicle and said, “I’m not paying you an extra $200.00 until these problems are fixed and/or you show me proof of the extra fees for the parts.” The owner got mad and said, “you (my boyfriend) will not take this car, your car is staying right here until you pay the full amount you owe me.” He then (inconspicuously) got one of his employees to take the fuse out of the car. The employee was able to do so because my boyfriend forgot to close the hood. The owner also had someone who had a box truck that was also in the parking lot (a friend maybe) park directly behind my boyfriend’s car as if taking the fuse out of the car wasn’t enough.

This enraged my boyfriend so much that he started cussing out the owner. The owner simply replied, “You are just going to have to call the cops and walked off.” My boyfriend wanted so much to call the cops but he opted just to pay the fee ($250.00). My boyfriend also mentioned that nasty voicemail to the owner. The owner simply replied, “I could do what ever I want.” Wow, what a real businessman. Come to find out there weren’t (as far as we could tell from the paper work we had) any extra fees for parts. The owner was just mad because we were given a $200.00 discount and he wanted the whole amount of $3, 050.00.He even apologized to my boyfriend about it afterwards, saying he would make it up to him and fix all the problems.

The owner even printed up a new invoice with the added fees to make his story seem true (sneaky). We got suckered in. According to the owner, the guy who gave us the discount to begin with wasn’t even a manager, but merely just a guy who does estimates and wasn’t authorized to give us a discount so he should have charged us the full amount. I went into this situation with great expectations and look at what happened in the end. The owner seemed like a nice guy up until the end. The money isn’t the issue it’s the principle, because we would have definitely paid the full amount in the first place. We just wanted some compensation for the rental, bad service and the overall piss poor job. Is that too much to ask?

We have lost our trust in Burien Maaco and will not be frequenting that establishment nor referring them to anyone! And we know a lot of people. Now we are stuck with all these problems that we’ll eventually end up paying for to get fixed.

Maaco Franchise wrong color paint job

Picked up vehicle and it was painted the wrong color. I ordered smoke gray and it came back an army green. Owner said it was the gray color I ordered but that it had a green tint in it.

Fenders were supposed to be silver but owner forgot to write that down and when I picked it up he said "oh that was my mistake".

He said they couldn't repaint for at least a week. I had to get to my destination and wouldn't be in the area next week. The vehicle was not coming back this way.

Would not recommend or go there again.

Maaco Franchise scam

I took my car to the Maaco in Memphis Tn and they have a sign for free estimates and that girl Tracy charged me $20 for my estimate! She said the sign was incorrect! I went ahead and paid her the $20 and like a dummy I took my 02 Benz to them for the paint and body work. I should of had them call me before they painted it because the body work was awful! The paint job was GREAT! but the body work, AWFUL! You could see scratches and they left a dent! When I came to pick up the car they refused to re-do the body work! Stuck with a bad job!

Maaco Franchise rip off

please do not use the Marco off story road in Irving, tx. I went there twice in the old man was trying to sell me by saying I need the heavy sanders. Which would raise my price about 300.00. I went to a different location they paired my car and it looks new again.

The worst customer experience in my entire automotive history.
I took car to MACCO'S IN TAMPA, FL on Anderson Rd. to have my liner replaced and bumper secured back to my car. I was given a quote and to bring in after parts were order on the next business day. I was told it would take 30 min to an hour. Took car in to the location, called for rental to pick me up and take me back to work, I was on my lunch break.
Rec'd call around 3:30 to informed me car was ready. Arrived 5:20 to pick up car, shop close at 5:30. Paid for services, went to get in the car because iI was told they were going to park my car across the street so they could close on time. rental co. had to come get the car. Liner was on; however bumper was not fixing properly, pointed this out to the Owner son Ivan Jr. I informed him I had already pd for the services on my debit car. He informed me that something was preventing the bumper from fitting and they would need to go back in and fix the problem, I would need to leave the car until Mon. I had a rental for one day through my ins. I call the adjuster to inform him i need more time because of the problem. Ivan ask to speak with the adjuster. meeting was sch for the adjuster to come to the shop to look at the car. Mon [protected] called the shop to see if car was ready. Ins. adjuster left a check for extra work including painting, I would have to pay more money to meet the balance. I informed them I was not prepare to do this. I was told that I then would have to pay for my bumper to be reattached back to the car. I was appauled. I call corp., did not received a return call, I left several messages. I went by the shop and took pic of my car. Upon looking at the car, I notice the ziplot tie that i had install to keep bumper up was still in place and this is what was stoping my bumper from fitting in the groove, also the bumper holes that was ripped apart was never welded back together. [protected], went to shop on the way to work and was told that if I did not get the car painted by them they were going to rip up the ins check and would not replace the bumper. I left upset, call the corp ofc. again, no return call. On my lunch, I called the ins adjuster whom informed me the ck belong to me not the shop, I did not have to have my car service there. I met my daughter at the shop to pick up my car. Ivan jr had spoken to my husband and he informed my husband I would only have to pay 50.00 for them to plastic weld the bumper back. My daughter question Ivan about the bumper and he verbally attack my daughter, screaming he was tired of everyone on his back about that car. I threaten to call the police, after he attempt to come closer to her. She is a certified Mechanic. We left after the incident, . He called at 4:30 to tell me the car was ready. for pick up. I could not get there in time before the shop close and take the rental back. 8-29 Went in to pick up car, pd the 53.00 and was told it was replacing my bumper not welding the holes back, > My car has grease all over the door handle (driver) and paint dust all over the entire car. I took pic. again. I did not received an apology for the stress, not the extra money I had to pay for all of this. I call the corp ofc again, no return call.
