M6.net (www.m6.net) hosting services – based in Australia, advertised as targeting USA. I applied for ‘instant activation’ of hosting with M6.net and completed the required online card transaction. No email was sent back to me and I have no hosting. Emails to sales and billing email addresses requesting refund have not yielded responses. I will be contacting payment card company/bank to try and force a reversal of the transaction.

I now also realize that the payment system was their own and not through a third party secure payment system. This means they probably hold my card details and I will have to block my card.

Same thing has happened to me, this is ridiculous. Charged me $60 last month when I cancelled my service 2 years ago! How can this not be calssified as criminal behaviour?!

As fellow "customer" who lost 60$ to M6, I ask everyone here to please file complaints w/the Texas Attorney General's office:
http://www.oag.state.tx.us/

The BBB is good, but they don't have any teeth. Spread word to others.

I too had many server problems with m6. The technical staff was nice, but there were so many problems it really soured me on them. They use a product called parallels as a control panel, and I had to email many times to get them to unlock the panel. They cannot be reached by phone, and there is not chat capability that I could find. The only upside is that when I complained directly to Micheal Guilfoyle (the owner?) he offered either a credit for problems or a refund. I accepted the refund and it was just processed. I sent many emails to the tech staff during this period, and no one responded to my complaints or threats to leave, except for a statement, sorry for the problems. If you have a problem, contact Mr. Micheal Guilfoyle directly.

I have since moved to webhost4life and it has been GREAT! They support 24-hour chat and have a very good (and stable) control panel. You pay a little more, but you get a LOT more.

These guys are horrible! They do not answer the phone, and I have been waiting months for them to fix a number of problems. They just upgraded the control panel, which they say is now working, but it is too late for me. I spent the time to move to another hosting company because it was so bad. Working with their technical team has been a huge string of emails stating "try it now". I have sent several emails requesting a refund, and they never respond. I can not say this loudly enough - DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING M6!

Since they have a presence in Texas, I urge folks to contact the Texas Attorney General's office through their website at:
http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/complain.shtml

You can also lodge a complaint at the Better Business Bureau at:
http://www.bbb.org/us/

The company contact information is:

The owner appears to be a man by the name of Michael Guilfoyle. If we all complain to these two organizations, something might get done!

I had the same bad experience. The account never worked, I canceled within the 30 day allotted period. I have asked for a refund multiple times and no response. When I canceled, they told me it would take 90 days to receive my money even though they advertise 30 days. I get NO response to any emails or calls. I have registered a complaint with the BBB tough I know it will do no good.

I have my account with them, and for the past two years I had been suffering with the crap they were giving me. Today I am relived I had ultimately taken a discussion after almost 100 mails to their supprt people, And I had to request despite the fact that I had all my dues duly paid.

Their sport staff insisted me to pay $66, I also Sent him a communication I had with their MD Michael Guilfoyal michaelg@m6.net

My Client sent them a mail, and their Mr. Rakesh without getting to the depth of the incident sent a mail to my client that this domain is down because of Non Payment. I almost Lost the Client, I had to immidiatly setup another account with four times more cost then I charged to get out of this situation.

They are Not Bothered about any bodies reputation, they are not bothered about their own words and they are not ready to talk to understand if the other person is right.

Their Mr. Ben Feels He is doing favour to us by hosting our accounts. But They really Need to be taught now that A Customer is GOD, which they have forgotten.

I think its time for them to wrap up.

I found their sevices and thought it would be good for my husband site to use their services. But once we got it activated we had problems and no responses to have the issues fixed. Canceled the account and now a year later they have taken payment again and wont refund it because I didnt keep the email confirming the cancellation. I have gone round and round with them. I'm trying now to get my money back through the bank. DONT USE THIS COMPANY...there are much, much better services provided out there much cheaper and better support.

I am hosting with them also! Have found their control panel tools VERY flakey, their 24/7 support is VERY BASIC with a call centre team that can only answer 20 FAQs, anything slightly technical doesn't get answered. My site's email just stopped working recently and they have NO suggestions as to what can be done about it... it seems they don't really care.

VERY cheap but VERY crap.

The absolute worst hosting company in the world. I 've been there 8 months too long. Worked OK for a short while after a very difficult start up. First the mySLQ database vanished. Two weeks of emails could not put that database together again.
Then the entire site just vanished.
No support. No site. No Help. Run from these guys. Run.

Like other folks here, I wish I had done my due diligence before signing up with M6.Net. I, too, was attracted by the discounted prices and "instant activation". But, no sooner than I submitted my credit card information for payment I realized that there was no instant activation---just constant aggravation!

I waited forever for the activation email. I placed many phone calls to the company and the same person always answered asking me to be patient while he "escalates" the calls. Meanwhile, the automated support system keeps sending me the messages that my request for activation will be closed since it did not receive my responses. WTF!

I finally called again to cancel the account after 3 days, and that was more than 3 months ago. And I am still trying to get my money back. They insist that the money has been refunded in full, but for some reason my bank has refused their refund [to my account]...which my bank tells me that there has not been any attempt from m6.net or anyone trying to refund the amount that I had paid for.

In summary, stay away from this company and any other companies like it. Do your due diligence...and if it sounds too good to be true (yeah, instant activation, etc.) it probably is.

Poor, poor service. Servers would die and they would have no backup. I wouldn't be notified of any issue until one of my resales would call. I am now on softsyshosting.com, and they have outperformed all my expectations. I recommend them highly to anyone wanting to host.

I bought a reseller package... Have I got tales of woe...

EVERY DAMNED ONE OF MY RESALES HAS UP AND LEFT FOR SERVER PROBLEMS.

Either too long to setup, sever is a NO-SHOW. Server misconfigured... Server missing components.

2 months ago the server died, they told me 2-3 weeks to be back up...

I no longer market resale account from my account, I don't want to be an anyones HITLIST.

I will say after I moved to a newer server they have been somewhat bettter but not as good ans a couple of the UNIX based hosting compnies I have been with.

I really really wish I saw this post before going with m6. Registered a new account and gets email from m6 after 1 day! Did not even bother to setup account. Tried for a refund and no emails are returned. Nobody returns phone calls (did you notice the phone tone? Sounded like last century's phone).

We should notify hosting directories about this company.

M6 - My worst experience ever!

I was attracted to M6 by their offer of instant activation, 24/7 support, and reasonably priced hosting packages. I decided to sign up and went through their “order process”. You will later discover the order process is for their billing purposes only! There was no customer registration of any kind; no instant account activation! The only information you receive back is an invoice amount, the amount charged, and authorization number. I waited most of the day hoping that I was going to receive an email with details for my account activation. The next day I noticed my credit card company was billed, but I still hadn’t gotten any account details to begin using their service. For 5 days I sent email to Sales, Billing, Support and Management. I received no response to my emails. On two occasions I even called their local Customer Support phone number. All you get is a recording to leave your customer id number, message and phone number and a representative will contact you. How can I leave a customer id number, I’ve never received one. It didn’t matter; I never did receive a phone call back. I decided to check out M6 with the Better Business Bureau. As it turns out they have an “unsatisfactory record” with the BBB due to unanswered complaints. So, it was 3 strikes and you’re out... I did not 1) get instant activation 2) I did not receive any 24/7 support 3) and it’s not reasonably priced if they bill you and offer no service. I filed a “disputed item” claim with my credit card company and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau!

I wish I read your comment before registering with you. Same thing happened to me. No emails, no one answer the phone.
