Why not to select lowe’s for flooring install… … and why I hate lowe’s After persistant nagging from my wife, I was forced to make a quick selection for my wooden floor install. I thought, if I went to a reputable, chain I should be fine. First of all, the sales person never explained the difference between a glue down and lock in. The price for the...

Lowe's injured and abused

I once worked at Lowes in the overnight receiving and I was always rushed through my normal work load which included over 200lb boxes and long shelves. I always did my work, I called out on several instances for illness. I called out for family emergency and two times for my car breaking down. The first time was my car had a flat and I walked 3 miles home and went to sleep. I called the next day and was told it wask okay but next time call. The next time my car broke down the clutch went I called early like 6:30, I didnt have to be in until 10:00. The manager wrote me up. Eventually I got injured mainly because the day manager for my department over ordered stock and I had no where to put it. I had to stock long wire shelves in an area that the overhead picker couldn't go all the way up do to the steel overhead beams. I would lift over 15 foot shelves by my self and one night my elbow made a funny noise. I told my ON manager my elbow was bothering me, but all he would tell me there was no light duty for my on overnite. At least 4 other employees on ON had lite duty prior to me in my 1 and a half years there, on the whole time I was there, and still to this day. But for me it was no go. I called out when ever the pain was greatest and would rest my arm since I couldnt get any help to my department. Also I would have to finish other departments one of which, the worker spent most of the time talking on his cell phone sitting at the desk in appliances instead of working. Any how I found out that I had been written up several times without even knowing it, but the Store Manager tried to fire me at first. The HR found out through some of the others that I got hurt at the job, and that the manager knew about it, he told her that I got hurt at my other job. She at least got me Worker s Comp, but then the nite mite tried to get me on days and I couldnt do this to children situation. When I was ready to go back in August, after I saw one of their docs. Who said nothing was wrong except Tendonitis, but the MRI Office said I had a tear big enough for possible stitching. Any how he first wrote a note for light duty, I told him that they would only day hours under LD. He then changed the note to regular work, but told me dont lift anything heavy. Anyhow I sent all my papers in to HR, was never called back, made several attempts to call SM and HR but was told they where either out to lunch or in a meeting. The one day when this was just starting I tried to call the Store manager but was told he was on lunch, this was for 3 hours. I could tell he was a Big eater but 3 hours come on time to diet. The funny sides to this story besides the OM having a Napoleon complex was that even though they offered me day hours to screw me out of pay under Work Comp, and claim I refused work under unemployment, was that I survived all the B.S.. The SM was moved to another store, which if he stayed there he would have had the place close. And the OM ended up going to days which he always wanted to do, but then got caught doing the nasty with the help and got demoted and moved to another location.

Lowe's defective

Hi,
I have 4 Harbor Breeze outdoor ceiling fans on my patio, they are 5 yrs old.
Me and my friend were in the hot tub the other night and we heard a loud noise, we looked around and saw one of the fans wabbleing,
then we saw one of the blades had broke off and flew across the patio and hit the side of the hot tub. Thank God it did not hit me or my friend but if it had happened just one minute sooner it could have injured me because I had been standing right where it hit.
I feel these fans are defective and need to be taken off the market.
I purchased them because they are for outdoor use and the blades are made of hard plastic or pvc so I thought they would be safe to use outdoors. As I was taking the fan down I noticed another blade that fan was almost broke off. I have checked all the other fans to find they all have broken blades that are ready to fall off. I am just thankful that nobody was injured. I am replacing all the fans and I will not purchase this brand again. I felt I needed to tell someone about this because this could be a real danger.
Thank you
Susan

Lowe's service @ check-out

I had purchased $286.17 worth of paint. I had received great service at the paint counter.
As I was approaching the check out area, a checker named Linda signaled me to come to the self checkout area.
As I approached I told her that I did not want to use the self checkout as I do not agree with this service. She sneared at me and informed me that she would not make me use self-check out. She continued to frown at me as she pulled my basket
toward her check out station. I asked her to turn loose of my basket as I did not appreciate her attitude toward me. She continued to glare at me as I went to another station. My husband and I have completely updated our home and a majority of the items were purchased from Lowes and we have never been treated badly or rudely before. I will surely remember this when I need to purchase anything else for our home.

I went to Lowes on June 5th at 4 pm to meet with Steve and go over the order for a new front porch. While going over order Steve explained that he didn't know much about the "hidden link" as it just came in a few weeks ago and he hadn't had time to go over it but told us that was what we would need to hide the screws on the decking. He told us that they...

Lowe's rotten service, rotten product

I needed ceiling paint for my textured ceiling so went to Lowes to get it. The idiot who waited on me sold me popcorn paint that required constant stirring, which we took turns doing, and did not do the job. I have just moved here from Florida and loved Lowes down there. Lowes should send all their employees to Florida to learn to assist customers and assist them properly. I not only did not get done what I wanted to get done because there was not enough paint I had to go out and buy more ceiling paint to cover up the garbage that was sold to me. In some areas the paint would not even adhere to the ceiling but when regular ceiling paint was applied it adhered perfectly. Not only did I waste the money for the first bunch of paint, $25.98 for 2GL VAL Texture Paint Ceiling, I had to pay for 2 GL Prem. Int. Fl. Clng paint @$16.47 each. I had hired someone to do the job for me and had to pay them extra to redo it.

I will make a point of letting everyone I know how shabbily I was treated in the store #[protected]. I will also be telling them that Lowes is not the right store to shop at nor will I shop there again.

I am expecting the decency of a reply and a solution to my having had to spend the money for a useless product that the ### who waited on me insisted was what I needed. The manager of the store is: Christopher Lane.

As I said before I expect a reply either by phone or email.

Lowe's managers in all areas

I was once employed at this lowes. First off I had to train myself. I soon realized that I knew more about the department I worked in (Hardware) and the products than my department manager. She was very lazy and incompetant (I hear she still is). If you work here long enough you realize the store is run by csa's the managers (department, zone, operations, and store manager) are idiots. The higher your rank the less you know. This store illustrates the peter principle very well. David, try actually working a full week like most managers. Ken, you've kissed enough a% come up for air. Ernie, you're a joke seriously. Maria... Lol, you get the award for the laziest, most incompetant, undeserving manager of all the lowes stores. Oh yeah you should really reevaluate the excuses you come up with for your two hr lunch breaks, sudden illnesses, and mia moments. You're starting to repeat your lies over and over again. People are noticing.

Lowe's no grace period

Lowe's Visa bought out a Capitol One account of mine which was at interest rate of 12% (low for me). Within six months the rate went to 24% with NO late payments, always paying 'way above minimum and no late payments with other companies. On June 6 I received the May statement stating a closing date of 5/27/09 and stating a due date of 6/12/09, thus giving me about a four day grace period to send in payment. Also in the statement was an enclosure stating the interest rate is going up, the penalty for late payment is going up, if the balance is paid in full they still can charge late fees, up interest rate, etc, and lastly, they will call my cell phone to "talk" to me about my account if necessary and can have "others" use automated dialing to my cell phone to "talk" about the account. I closed out the account today, and I have closed out my 30 year relationship with Lowe's. I also called the telephone number listed to opt out of the cell phone calls, and found that it was just a ploy to get me to put in my cell phone number. I hung up on them.

Please always read the inserts in your statements and always look at the due date - this is a gimmick from GE Bank, and I am reporting to my state Attorney General and also my congressmen.

Lowe's nightmare at lowes

I recently went to lowes in foley, al and waited 30 before anyone waited on me. I was shopping for lighting fixtures. I finally found someone to help me and she ended up being very rude. I didnt get to catch her nametag backwards but she was kinda on the short side with blonde/light brown hair, maybe dirty blonde. After about 15 minutes of dealing with her I decided to leave and just go to home depot. I don't come into the store being rude and dont expect the employees to be rude to me either. I was buying lighting fixtures for my whole house and spent over $1, 200 at home depot. I was very dissappointed and will never shop Lowes again.

Wanting a new front door for our home, I went to Lowe's HIW in Knightdale, NC almost three weeks ago and bought an acceptable door. The woman who helped me buy and make arrangements for installation of the door managed to hurt the feelings of the African-American installer by not having made all the measurements he wanted to have. He turned down my job based on that experience, so she found another man to do the installation. He telephoned and made an appointment to come and do the installation on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, but then he never showed up, nor did he phone to change the appointment. They were quick enough to collect the price of the door and the installation, although no installer has been on my property and certainly, no door has been delivered. This monkey business has to stop: Lowe's has no business charging for work that was never performed.

I went in to purchase exterior primer and paint. Saw a sign taped to a pole advertising Olympic Zissner 1-2-3 Primer (paint) on sale till June 1st. There was no one behind the paint counter. I am a Lowe's employee and have not seen all these "fat" bonuses throughout the year. Maybe you were made a cashier because they feared you would injure your back if you were still a CSA. I know you would if you worked like I have.

While looking for replacement burners for my Perfect Flame BBQ, I came across comments from other owners of this model SLG2006B. I have had a similar experience of the entire unit catching fire (not from a flare-up) The heat was so intense that it seared the siding on the house. The inside of the cover is now peeling, and while doing my spring BBQ check-up...

Lowe's bad installation - lawsuit

Hi - in 2005 a washing machine we purchased was installed wrong. We ended up having to move out of our home for 14 months due to the damage. Our whole family was made ill by the mold the installations caused. We are in what in our opinion is the legal battle of our life. Please visit our website at http://www.lowes-nightmare.com .

We appreciate your support and ask that you share our website with everyone you know.

Thanks so much.

Lowe's fire

We purchased a SLG 2006 B gas grill from Lowes in October of 2006. We have only used a total of two tanks of propane and with no warning after starting the grill for the first time this year April 2009 the grill catches on fire. From the looks of the fire it started from the burnes to the outside of the grill. We have see recalls for the other model but have not found a recall on this model. For the saftey of consumers this model should be included. If anyone knows of any recall please e-mail me at [protected]@aol.com.

We are out a grill with no rembursment of anything to purchase a new grill .

Thanks,

B Johns

We also purchased this grill from Lowe's. We did manage to get about 8 months of use, but not because there were no problems. It caught fire twice before I noticed the corroded burners. Like you, we have looked for recalls but there are none for this model. Lowe's and Perfect Flame should be ashamed for promoting such a dangerous product. There is no way we will ever buy another grill by this company and Lowe's is not looking very good either.

I just got off the phone with Bar-B-Que tech. I suppose they changed their name to avoid "Perfect Flame Shame." As with the rest of you, my lifetime burners rusted out in one year of being covered and under the porch. Naturally, with my receipt, they were willing to send me the parts to rebuild the grill. Unfortunately, Lowes receipts fade out (thermal paper) and Lowes does not keep records longer than 6 mos. That all happened 3 months ago and today, they had the nerve to call and ask if I still wanted to purchase the "lifetime warranty" replacement parts.

Bottom line: The call ended with me promising that I would hurt BBQ Tech much worse than they hurt me. Fire one. Don't buy from these people unless you want a fall-apart product with customer service designed to avoid honoring their warranty. Yes lady, I cannot produce my receipt so obviously, I built this grill out of junkyard parts, all a part of my diabolical plot to cheat you out of a few crummy pot-metal burners.

We too purchased a Perfect Flame Grill SLG2006B from Lowes and have had the same experience. We've cleaned it to the point of looking almost new and it makes no difference. The burners and burner covers produce a "fire" and not a flame and this makes the unit useless. I agree that the unit needs to be recalled as it is a huge potential safety risk. would love to hear if anyone has seen a recall on this item as well. shemmelman@yahoo.com

Lowe's customers

I work for Lowe's and I hate customer who return stuff from other leading hardware stores . We, for some reason, take it and try to add it to our system. We take a blow from it too. What is worse is when we tell the customer that it didn't come from our company and they yell and scream until they get what they want. It's pathetic! Take it back from the store you bought it from!

May 14, 09 Discriminated because of age after taking my money up front.A long long wait for a laminated floor after the first installers job floor POPPED-UP in every room .Too discussed and worn out with the NOT TRUE PROJECT as stated to me when i went to the floor to get the Floors done.I bought all the material i would need to do a laminated floor and 2 bathrooms and washroom with vinyl that is left in my garage .3 items left returned to store for a refund upon completion of the first floor, the REPLACEMENT floor left overs were taken by installers(Box of Border for the floor. While mine was cut in visible places and pieced together. Not mention i have to paint entire house afterwards ($2, 000) walls PAINT scraped in every room .After i stopped the border man from his job because h i was then told that Lowes do not remove old vinyl and i needed the old vinyl removed because of a backup on bathroom floors .Therefore anger set in i guess from this person. The salesman that sold me the floor and explained clearly how the floor installing would be carried out was no more at store after hs sales to me and therefore i have no backup other than the paper with all the material i purchased at the time. The first floor was a 25 year warranty floor and someone picked a 7mm floor for me and installed because i was told by 2 people that knows what was happening in the store that the one i selected cost more.I waited and waited and just 3 weeks ago the last week of April they came and put the floor down. All the people that works in this store acts as if i did something wrong because of the irst complaint of the Pop-up floor and INSTALLERS whomever they were because the young man told me when i was in the store purchasing the items that they had no installers available and couldn't even write down a name but a few weeks after i was called and told the installers were at my house(A woman and man) asnd the project began with the 2 but after approx. 8 days in my home the entire family appeared and took all my doors off the hinges and piled in a corner and the installers came with no WORKHORSE, poor operable saw and had a handsaw which was used to SAW and splinter my doors in the hallway and the guy came out on the patio where i was using my blower and asked me for my electric Cord and i gave it to him to use.My white dustpan left also they were using.I can't even explain the Humiliation I went through for MONTHS and i got Dust in my eyes and had to go get my eyes flushed and antiobiotic eye drops, my Doctor ahad to up my High Blood Pressure medicine and i have very upset and Sick behind this Floor installation for a long time..I SIGNED the papers a few weeks blindly like they wanted me to be just to get them off and out of my house to get some relief a few weeks because of adverse reactions toward installing after reaching my home to tell how i was treated by some employeees of the store and it's only one in this area but i will never ever take my money to invest in the store again for a home project (Laminated floor)will never go to any Lowes to have a laminated floor install or any other home project unless i am COMPENSATED back in some manner and i am a good paying customer of Lowes.I also was told they don't work for Lowes any more by a person sent here from Charleston, Sc.Who do you think came back and installed this floor now.One other thing is that they tried to give me a poor quality floor called Surface Source 10 year warranty and I refused.I was called to the store and taken back into a backroom and shown 2 PLACARDS to chose a floor from and a change was made bywhomever.I had asked for the same 25 year first floor but was told they Don't carried that one anymore at the time. It got to be very confusing. This last floor installed a few weeks ago, i have no Paperwork and was told i didn't need any.I have never in my LIFE been through a purchase and PROJECT like this.I called the MAIN headquarters a few times (Mooreville, NC.) . Had me to sign papers stating that i would not charge Lowes for any injuries in my home. I have a LOW SHINE Lake Bodensee Cheery 7mm and was told they didn't know how long it's good for. Never again. Some Photos yes. I'm single, retired.

Lowe's unauthorized charges

I bought a $6.50 product from Lowe's. At the check out, I scanned my Credit card for payment. As has been customary for the last 1-2 years, only at this store, you are asked to announce the last 4 digits of your card and then sign on the digital pad. This time, I was also asked, in addition, to show an ID.

Home Depot across the street, does not even require you to sign for the credit card scanned, when total is less than $50.00.

This is the last time I'll shop at Lowe's.
