We found Love For Pugs on Hoobly. I contacted her about her pups and worked out a deal on two fawn female pups. I sent her a deposit via paypal towards the beginning of February. I then maintained email contact with her over the next month. We had set a date of March 9 for me to come down (a three + hour trip) and pick up my girls. In the process she gave me two different addresses one of them being her home and the other being a family dollar. However she led me to believe that both were her home address. About 15 minutes prior to my arrival at her address she emailed me and stated I would have to wait until Monday. I emailed her back that I was almost there and continued to her house since I had traveled so far. When I arrived at her home, my husband and I knocked on the door. She came to the door and asked if we were there for the pugs. I stated yes we were and she tried to hand the dogs through the door to me on the porch. She wouldn't allow me to enter her home. The dogs were not healthy and were not quality pups like she led me to believe. The one looked to have a deformed butt. I stated to her that these dogs were not the quality we expected and she started screaming that I did not maintain proper contact or ever email her (even though I have all my emails saved) and that I was to get off her porch before she called the cops. Do not purchase from her. These dogs were very poor in their health and structure. I am now having to fight with paypal to get this deposit back. Steer clear!

I think that you can find good breeders on hoobly. We breed bulldog puppies and are reputable breeders. And the reason that we searched for the dogs was because we wanted two fawn females. We know all about the breed and don't need to be educated on it.

It is our choice to buy from a breeder and not a shelter. We just reported this so that no one else fell victim to her scam.

Mark Dwayne and his son Malik Highsmith are scam artists. I agreed to buy a pug and the day before meeting, a fake AKC letter was sent to my email telling me I had to buy 1 of 2 pet insurance plans or I wouldn't get the puppy. They claimed they didn't know this was a requirement and to just pay it. Upon researching AKC, I found that they do not require insurance and Mark was running a scam.

I adopted a pug from this breeder in September of 2014. It has been a little over two years I had my pug. She has since then passed away of congenital heart failure, right after her second birthday.
i was told this is a heart disease passed along through poor breeding.
i was completely heartbroken to know that my puppy basically did not stand a chance to live a long, healthy life. no person should have to endure watching their beloved pet die so young.
please, i ask this, do your research when finding and adopting. i wish i would have.

After reading this site I was a bit skeptical at first. I called her and talked for over an hour and felt comfortable. I explained to her I was a bit unfortable due to reading some of these reviews. After talking I became comfortable and adopted my little Izzy from her. My dog is happy, healthy and beautiful. We still stay in contact after nearly 6 months. I'm glad I found her after all and will be ready to adopt another in a few months. Always call and check before assuming all you read is true.

I bought a puppy from this breeder in May, and she is perfect. The most adorable, loving thing you could ask for. She is almost 7 months now and is completely healthy, and everything you could want in a pug!

We prefer people to pick up any puppies at our home. We sometimes will meet per request but prefer to have them come here.
This whole situation was a miscommunication obviously and the phone call wasn't very clear.
We do first vaccine then new owner finishes off from there.

Oh and by the way tips from the humane society say ANY reputable BREEDER will let you see where the dogs come from. http://m.humanesociety.org/issues/puppy_mills/tips/buying_puppy.html

I asked at the time the puppies are ready would you have to meet me some where because I can clearly see you won't let me see what I'm buying or putting a deposit on. I don't shop at walmart and give them money for items I haven't seen. I asked to meet you for a deposit because I refuse to purchase online its dangerous. As a so called breeder soap and water goes a long way or do not sell the babies until they are ready to go I would be responsible for shots as the new owner which they do not receive until 6 to 8 weeks anyway so the reason for me to put a deposit for a puppy I haven't seen is ... drum roll please .

That is not true.

I said you can come view the puppies on July 27th after first vaccines, but if you want one RESERVED we require a deposit that it is not safe to let strangers handle unvaccinated puppies. I said if you don't want to use Pay Pal we would meet you per your request. You asked me to bring the puppies ( If they were at my home I can ensure you we will not travel to show people puppies - They need their mother at this age ).

You said you wanted us to meet you somewhere, which I said you can either come here, or we can meet you but it could NOT be today as we work today ( IF YOU WANTED TOO )

And we are NOT running a puppy mill - We are inspected and approved, and all pets live indoors.

WE DO NOT ALLOW ANY UNVACCINATED PUPPY TO BE HANDLES BY STRANGERS ( 6 weeks/first shots, then it's OK ) plus it's a friends litter they aren't here at my home anyway, and aren't going to travel 40 minutes away to let someone view then.

It clearly says ALL OF THIS on my website, and if you were a breeder you would understand the dangers of unvaccinated puppies being handled.

I contacted love for pugs today and I was very upset with the entire conversation with the lady. I called Asking for any information about the pugs she had told me they were READY FOR HOMES JULY 27 I SAID OKAY WELL COULD I SEE THEM SHE TOLD ME NO AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PUT DOWN A DESPOIT. I SAID WELL I'M NOT USING PAYPAL AND THAT I Live in the CINCINNATI AREA IT WOULD BE EASIER AND SHE SAID WELL IF YOU FEEL SAFER THAT WAY . AT THIS POINT I'm only HUMORING THE SITUATION SO YOUREALLY EXPECT ME TO PUT MONEY DOWN ON A DOG THAT I CAN'T SEE THAT IS NON REFUNDABLE. NO WAY NO HOW THAT LADY SENT ALL KINDS OF RED FLAGS TO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HER I FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE DOGS .OH MIGHT I ADD SHE TELLS ME SHES GOT TWO LITTERS BUT ONLY BREEDS HER DOGS ONCE A YEAR ... YEAH DO NOT USE THIS LADY SHES PROBABLY RUNNING A PUPPY MILL AND WOULD HOPE SHE GETS CAUGHT

This woman sold us a pug with fleas and MANY OTHER PROBLEMS! Stay away from this lady! She is a bad breeder and I'm pretty sure she runs a puppy mill with all the puppies she is selling left and right. A good pug breeder has 1-2 litters a year. It seems like this lady is selling pugs ALL THE TIME! Thank God we saved our little Lucy from this awful breeder! Oh she also said she would send us the paper work on the puppy because she didn't have it at the time of pickup...we NEVER received the paper work! Don't trust a THING this lady says!

Yeah I know...We WOULD never ever advertise a puppy for sale with wrong photo. On ad's it may say "mom & dad's past puppy photos and are expecting again" but NEVER as you are putting it. We would never hang up on someone and never answer calls! I agree.

Oh my, Love For Pugs is still at it. We purchased a male puppy from her 2 years ago. Horrible experience! She sent us lots of pictures of a male puppy and when we met her (she met us half way), he was a different puppy. When we picked him up, something did not seem right. It was not until we returned home that we realized what had happened. When I contacted her to discuss, she was instantly defensive and VERY rude and hung up on me! We took him to the vet the next day and he had multiple problems, we lost him after 4 intense weeks. I tried to contact her multiple times and she would not answer the phone or return our messages. We continued to watch her website and she would post the same picture as one of the puppies for sale. BUYER BEWARE! Stay far away from this lady!

jlkdrbl56 on hoobly is a fabulous breeder. We got our black pug puppy from her about a year and a half ago. He is the best dog anyone could ask for. We just got on the waiting list for another pup! He is in need of a friend :) anyway if you are looking for a pug I highly reccomend her. She works at the Vet office that we use to take our dogs to and is great!

Seriously ? Are you a breeder yourself all you had intended to do with the babies was to breed them.

1. Most people call prior to coming to pick up a puppy
2. I was taking them outside to potty - didn't even know you were there. Explains why the butt looks deformed.
3. You knew we were heading out of town to traders world. My two daughters were standing in my living room getting ready ( we have no bedrooms on bottom floor.
4. Sickly? They look completely healthy!

My pride and joy today so I guess things happen for a reason.

We have excellent reviews and many happy customers.

Our babies do have a complete vet physical and vaccines/dewormer before leaving. These babies were checked the day before and also two days later on Monday since this woman called ANIMAL control on us and falsely told them we were a puppy mill. They said if they were declared health they would consider this a false claim.

We strive for health and good bloodlines. Most carry a champion line. Bred to better the breed and our funds go right back in the furkids.

www.facebook.com/loveforpugs you can clearly see my Pugs aren't what she is saying.

Contacted this woman about her pugs, and had a difficult time getting answers to my questions. The answers I did get raised red flags with us, so we did not do business with her. The stories here validate our suspicions. I believe she may now be using the name OhioLovesPugs as well.

Steer clear of this breeder, Love for Pugs in Cincinnati. Placed a deposit on so called second choice of litter and was led to believe that I had the choice, the breeder without any consultation with me picked my choice, her choice as second pick of the litter. This is just the beginning. As with any breeder questions should be asked about the pup such as shots and flea treatments, I tried to ask questions because of a picture she posted that sparked my curiosity, the pup looked different and maybe was sickly, I understand that this could have been caused by the way the picture was taken or that the pup just didn't liked being handled a certain way but her response was "My babies don't have fleas and if you don't like her someone else will love her" this I felt was rude. A simple yes or no would have sufficed, A reputable breeder will answer ANY and ALL questions in a professional manner, this woman IS NOT, in my opinion a professional in any manner. Like lerch 73, in request of an address 3 times and I got no reply. Lost my deposit-a lesson learned. Don't fall for this scam artist, cute pictures and affordable prices don't always add to a beautiful dog. PLEASE STAY AWAY...Never using the Internet to find a puppy again unless I can SEE the sire and dame in person, SEE ALL puppies so I can make my choice and have all questions ANSWERED. Got two beautiful puppies from a local breeder answered all questions, very professional.

Acquiring a purebred dog is no longer for amateurs - it's like selecting a horse, in fact. Ever see what goes into finding a good horse? It's a complicated thing - always has been. Dog shows are fun events and the AKC sponsored shows and those of some breed clubs are very good places to connect with breeders who know what they are doing. And curiously enough, their prices for puppies are no different then the sleazeballs online will charge ya. Just sayin'.

Yes and your choices are the reason why more and more healthy good dogs are being put to sleep everyday; because people like you want to pay a lot of money to contribute to the homeless dogs problems.

You shouldn't even be buying breed dogs. There are lots of dogs who need homes. Serves you right.

Buying any type of purebred dog of any type has become a nightmare - rather than the pleasant experience it used to be. That goes 10X for the idiotic pracitce of acquiring one from your easychair, online. Many breeds have been "corrupted" by bad breeding which has resulted in sick dogs and many breeds where the "standard" has become difficult to maintain because of off traits introduced into the stock..

In case you haven't noticed, we are in a depression and some people have realized that one way of making easy money is to breed "purebred" dogs. Unfortunately that fact, and the fact that most people are oblivious to breed standards and haven't a clue, the practice is widespread. People gotta eat, ya know. For now, might as well visit the pound and find something you can fall in love with, on the cheap.
