Long John Silver's poor service / long wait.

I visited the Long John Silver Store # 31247 located at 2117 NW Topeka Boulevard, Topeka Ks. On 12/30/15 at 6:07 pm. Arriving at the drive thru there were no other cars in line. At the menu board they acknowledged I was there and the I waited 10 minutes prior to them taking my order. There was only three cars in the parking lot. Finally at 6:17 they took my order and I proceeded to the window and paid. Everything I ordered was basic items. Reg fish, Chicken planks, Fries etc. I waited until 6:49 over an half hour since ordering my food. I then proceeded to simply ask the attendant for my money back explaining that the wait was not acceptable. I did not ask for the food. I simply wanted my money. He refused. He said he called his manager and she refused. I kept my calm through most of the dialogue but lost it at one point and slipped and did drop the F bomb stating they would give me my F' ing money back ( My Bad ) but it was after a long and calm back and forth conversation on my behalf. Finally I lost it having to deal with the attitude of the employees. Acting surprised I was upset with the wait. I ended up going into the store getting my receipt signed by an employee and marking it that the food was not delivered. I did not have any more time to waste at this location. The other side of the story. I was getting the food for my family because my wife was at home sick. After receiving the food I was to then pick up my two Grandsons from the babysitter. I just acquired the two boys and am trying to work out a schedule for them. I will be charged by the babysitter an extra $25 for being late picking up the boys. After picking up the boys I then had to proceed to K-mart and get diapers and wipes. Something I planned to do prior to picking up the boys but could not unless I wanted the extra $25 to go up to $50. Then I proceeded to go to another fast food restaurant. Which by the way had me in and out in less than 5 minutes. Finally I get to head home a 45 minute drive. Once arriving I get to feed the boys, bath them and send them straight to bed to keep the schedule we are working on. I did not get to spend any time comforting two confused boys. The rest of the night I could not get the whole episode out of my head therefore it was not a good night.

Long John Silver's terrible customer service and business practices within ljs stores

I wanted to send this email and file a complaint against one of your Long John Silvers locations - the store at 11701 W. Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, Colorado, 80215. We have been buying food at this and other LJS locations (also in other states) for over 30 years, and I really think LJS as a company needs to re-address their approach to providing good customer service. We have had several problems with this particular over the past several months. On several occasions over the past several months, we have brought in LJS coupons that we have received as fliers in the mail, and the employees and managers at this store are very selective as to whether or not they will accept them. On some days we are told that they do not accept any coupons, on some days they will only accept certain coupons and not others, and on some days they accept all coupons. On 12/7/2015, we received a text on our phone that offered a 2-piece fish combo meal for $3.99 (good through 12/9/2015). When we went into this store on 12/9/2015 at 6:15pm MST to redeem this coupon and buy food, we were told that the store only accepts "printed" coupons. This text contained no link that could be printed, and we spoke with several "managers" and "supervisors" who told us the same thing, and they refused to serve us. After several dealings of this nature with all levels of employees at this store, we have decided to NEVER give them our business again or shop there. We told the employees that we would never be back and we left. As we were leaving, we noticed the customer who had been in line behind us showing the employee a LJS text, and the employee appeared to be processing this customer's order. Both the employee and this customer are hispanic and we are white - I would hate to think that we are being discriminated against in this case, but honestly it appeared that way to us. We have seen many fast food retail stores go out of business in our area (most recently a Burger King down the street from this LJS), and so we really do not understand why this store would basically turn down a sale and refuse to accept our coupons on a regular basis, and also why they keep changing the rules every time we go there. If they told us that they just flat out did not accept coupons we could deal with that, but they are very selective based on who the cashier is and who the customer is. This particular location has TERRIBLE customer service and really does not seem to care about their patrons. I hope steps will be taken in the future to correct this. It is unfortunate that we have had to make the decision to never shop there again, but we cannot support a company that treats its customers in this manner. Long John Silver's honoring text sent re: ljs food specials

I constantly have received text messages on my Smartphone offering LJS menu specials. I have taken advantage of those "deals" until recently the nearest LJS was closed. After receiving another "special" text, I went to the LJS store on West Colfax in Lakewood, Colorado, and showed the text to the manager on duty. She told me she would not honor my advertised purchase. She did not explain anything regarding her refusal to honor the deal. Although I have been a regular and devoted customer of LJS for years, I was left with a bad taste after trying to deal and reason with the lady at this restaurant. Unfortunately, this particular store is the nearest of only 3 remaining here in the Denver area. So, I guess you lose a good customer..

Long John Silver's manager physically assaulting another worker

My son is 17 years old and has been employeed with this company for about 4 months. The shift manager Heather has been harassing my son since she been in the Penn Hills store. I spoke to this woman just last week about her derogatory remarks toward my son. Now today she mugged him in his face. My husband called the police. This behavior should not be tolerated. Long John Silver's 2 piece fish meal

I stay out alot with my job. I got hungry and while in Goldsboro, NC, store number E080061, I decided to stop. First the drive thru didn't work, it was raining so I went in. It was half KFC and LJS's. I ordered a two piece firsh meal. It took several minutes because they had to cook it. The fish was burnt, the sweet corn was days old, didn't smell good, so I threw it out, thought it would make me sick, the Cole slaw was watery, I mean watery. It was like they took the shredded cabbage and ran water over it and forgot the mayo. While I waited, the manager was cooking the fish and when it was done it got a strainer and carried it across the floor to the counter and dumped it out on the counter after they just sprayed it with cleaner. Plus he was rude. The place was mess and the only one cleaning was a white young guy. As I watched him clean, I watched the other girls not care and drop things. Even the manager was tracking Greece all over the floor and play sliding in it. I was so disappointed. I always look for a LJS's when I am out on the road. I spend 3 or more nights a week out. But I think I will have to start looking for another fish place. The owner needs to show up at night. I don't blame the company for not raising the wage. They were rude, never made eye contact and the manager never apologized for having to wait while he cooked the fish, burnt the fish. I waisted 6.61 tonight. Your customer service was terrible. The lady in front of me was waited on with respect. I felt like since I was white I didn't deserve treatment. The LJS's in Fayetteville, NC on Santa Fe rd, was even worse. When I pulled up in drive thru which I was the last car told me they were out of fish at 9:30. But back to Goldsboro, the service needed alot of attention. I am starting to believe that the employees are paying attention to you if you are black but being white, I had no chance of winning or getting good food. Please check into this so no one will get sick.

Long John Silver's poor customer service

On October 23, 2015 I visited the Long John Silvers in Fairfield, California. I have been going to this location for over 10 years. As I approached the counter, there was a new cashier who seemed to know everything. I asked him for extra hush puppies instead of fries on my combo meal. He said it would be an extra charge for the hush puppies. I explained to him that I order the same thing every week and they happily exchange the hush puppies for the fries. He did not believe me, so he had to ask another employee who verified that he could do this. I also ordered some clams. After paying, I asked him for my receipt. He stated that I would receive it when my order came up I explained that for 10 years they always have given a receipt so the customer could verify the correctness of the order, and have the receipt for their record. He did not comply, but he seemed irritated, and never said thank you. I also ordered a crab cake separate. No receipts were given. Upon receiving my order, no receipts were given, and they forgot the crab cake. I had to ask for a receipt. After sitting down to eat, I began eating my clams. As I was reaching the bottom of the clam box, I found a strand of straight hair two inches long. I went to the counter to courteously let an employee know. Her response was that it was a piece of cardboard from the box. I responded that it was in deed hair. She simply took the box and threw it away. I could not believe her response and lack of concern or accountability, so I approached the counter and asked for the manager. The manager was very apologetic and refunded the cost of the product.

Long John Silver's worst ever

Customer service bad and that's the manger alexis store on 220 sparkman dr huntsville, al 35810. I try to get the information to contact upper management, staff would not tell me anything. Called back to get store number - Alexis the manager took phone off the hook for hours. Store is in trouble, so many places to eat you dont have to go some where the staff act like they do not want to wait on you, i waited 25minutes in the drive thur at the window before the manger open the widow and ask" what did you order", so disappointed in long john silver will not eat thier again, everyone i talk to i will tell them dont go !

Long John Silver's about sides

Went to long johns just to get some fish and no matter what I ordered they said I had to get sides with it, I didn't want sides all I wanted was fish, they said if I didn't order sides they couldn't and wouldn't serve. Me so I left and will never be back! Long johns fish is all my daughter wanted you just lost my business!

Long John Silver's wait times

This restaurant is the slowest I have ever seen. Do not try drive thru for a quick in and out. After several different times of trying drive thru, the last experience will be our last attempt. We went on this past Monday, Oct 12th, and we waited behind 2 cars, for over 20 minutes. The line never moved and we pulled out of line. I went inside to complain and found the reason for the ridiculous wait time. There was only 2 people working. One cooking the food and one to help customers that walked in and the ones in drive thru. The one taking orders was trying very hard to keep up, but just wasn't able. I complained about the wait time and felt bad for adding to this workers problems. The worker was very professional and apologetic. I submitted a complaint to corporate and am waiting for a response from them. I'm impressed with the worker, but am VERY disappointed at Long John Silver's for what they are putting people through. Both their customers and workers. We will never support them again. If Long John Silver's doesn't care enough about people in general, then we have no choice but to stop going there. People paying for a service don't deserve these long waits and their poor workers don't deserve what they are being put through.

Long John Silver's entire business

Our local Long John Silvers is going from a franchise to a corporate owned facility so we have been told. Notices were placed a month ago to please be patient with them during the transition. Friday my brother stopped to get us dinner only to find that they are not serving the basic menu items that they had said they were going to be serving. He inquired and they told him that no more trucks would be making deliveries and that they only had baked fish in house. They weren't making hush puppies, fried fish or chicken, no shrimp. He left without purchasing anything from them at all. I feel that this is a shame that such a disservice is being done to the people in our town. It was bad enough that over a year ago their drive through was shut down because the microphones weren't working. We and so many others enjoyed dinner from long john silvers especially when we could get it without leaving our vehicle. Please fix this problem. This is in Clarksburg, WV.

I stopped going because they have not fixed the drive thru. Dont they even give a thought to how many sales they lose each day.

I too was looking to complain when I saw your complaint. This store has been nothing but a mess for a long time. The drive thru has not worked in months. I went just today and was told they were closed because of plumbing issues. Is it hard to put a sign up saying your closed! I just feel this establishment is run down and in need of a overhaul...not only cosmetic ...but internally! RANT OVER!

Long John Silver's long wait times, missing menu items, unethical behaviour

October 11, 2015 2:00 pm It has been a while since I have been to Long John Silver's because for some reason or another they never seem to fail and disappoint. I thought it would be okay to go since yesterday my brother and I had a discussion about how we were wanting to eat some fish. As a child this use to be one of my favorite places to eat and I don't ever remember having issues like what I've had in the past 3 years experiences. I am finally fed up with it and today I am writing about it. Today, after church I thought let's stop and pick up lunch and go home and have a relaxing Sunday. I went up to the drive through speaker and waited about 5 minutes before being asked to wait and place order. I waited an additional 5 minutes before being asked to just drive up to the window and place my order. There were two cars already waiting in front of me and I thought, how much longer could this possibly take. I waited 20 minutes in the same spot and still had not placed an order because there were still two other vehicles in front of me waiting for their orders to be either ready or taken. I drove across the street to another establishment where I was assisted in a drive through with extremely great service. As I was driving off I looked over to the LJS that I had waited approximately 30 minutes to place an order at and saw the same two vehicles that were in front of me waiting still in the same spot. Not only have I experienced extremely long hold times but when ordering usually the family pack they never have corn on the cob ready. Enough is enough, please get a management team that takes their job seriously and values not only their place of employment but also those patrons that want to eat there.

Long John Silver's manager

I went to Store # 31538 on 9-28-15 at lunch time at Drive thru. told cashier I had a coupon for $4.99 for 2 piece combo, included 2 sides and 2 hushpuppies. once at window I asked if they got both sides, she said it only offers 1 side, I said coupon said 2 sides. she looks and shows manager, he said because I did not state what coupon I had he will not fix it and put in both sides. I said yes I told you and you have the coupon. she said sorry the manager will not do it. so I go to Long John Silver's website and submit a complaint.. It goes to the MANAGER! what good will that do when he is clearly the problem! I found this, we will see if this is wasting my time or not. probably so. And LJS wonders why their business is failing.

Long John Silver's staff/employee

I have never been so disrespected by someone at a fast food restraunt like today. My boyfriend and I went to Long John Silver's in Penn Hills, PA I ordered an L1 platter with Coleslaw and French fries and also added a sweet tea that was not included with the platter. My boyfriend Tj ordered fish sandwich combo with sweet tea and beans. I paid $15.50, and received one tea. I asked the girl at the window for the other tea I ordered and she consulted with her co-worker "Heather W" who looked like a manager because of her attire. She comes back and tells me I never ordered a tea nor did I pay for one, so I said nevermind I can share the tea Tj got with him. The Heather girl clearly had attitude talking to the girl. Thatworked thewindow about me. I could hear her she was making rude gestures and was loud and really rude about it. Then I got our food mine was cold. TJ received French fries instead of the beans he ordered so I asked for the beans. The girl at the window then again asked Heather the rude girl if we could get beans. She argued with theother girl that we never ordered beans either and made a big deal about getting us the beans WE DID ORDER! I asked the girl at the window for the other girls name she told me Heather and I looked at the reciept and Heather was who took our order! This girl needs a new job she shouldn't work with people in public! She's just plain out RUDE! I never do complaints but I will make sure this girl gets told about herself. She is just disrespectful. I would like some kind of refund or free meals for the both of us. I would also like this Heather W to be told about her attitude and how to deal with customer's she obviously oblivious to how to do so!

Long John Silver's poor product

I have been eating at this particular Long John Silvers, in Troutdale, OR, for the last nine years. I've always loved it. One particular reason was that the fish was always thick, tender, juicy and flaky. This is of particular interest to me because I had gastric bypass surgery twelve years ago and many fast food products (read... burgers) are no longer an option for me. LJS was finally a perfect, delicious, inexpensive alternative for me when I needed something hot, fast and inexpensive. It was great, and I've loved it for nine years... until recently. I noticed that the quality of the batter they dip the filets in was a little different, slightly denser and more "sticky" than before, so I began asking them to fry it fresh, because after it had been under the heat lamps for any length of time the filets would dry out and the batter would be inedible for me. Then, about a month ago, the filets changed. They are now completely inedible for the same reasons I can't eat burgers or other items from other fast food chains. The filets are almost half the thickness they were before. When cooked, combined with the denser, stickier batter, the filets are almost chewy. I am unable to digest them, any more, and it makes me sad. I understand it's a lot to ask that a company offer me more product for the same amount of money, and I'd be willing to pay more, truly, but the truth of the matter is that I can't eat the product at all now. Long John Silvers' is protecting their bottom line but they're losing customers to do so. Loyal, happy customers that just wish they still made their products with the same level of quality as before. Good bye, LJS. It really was great, while it lasted.

I went to the LJS in Big Rapids, MI, Saturday, 09/05/15 at 3 pm. My friend and I ordered our meals and we went to sit down as we are both handicapped. Every (I am not exaggerating) table in the place was dirty, along with the floor. I asked the young lady who waited on us if she could get someone to wipe the tables so we could sit down as neither one of us can stand up for very long. She said we would have to wait. asked the manager if she could get someone to wipe the tables and all I got was excuses about how busy they were. We sat down at a dirty table and after a few minutes an employee came out with with a towel and started wiping tables. I called him over and asked him to wipe our table off, which he did. We got our meals and realized that we had not received our side orders of slaw. We had to go back up to get them. We were there for 45 minutes. The floor got swept, but the sticky pop was never mopped up.

7/2/2015 KFC/Long John Silver same restaurant (J625112, Portland TX) Fish was not fresh, Buffet not set up at 12:45 (lunch time), no forks, no condiments available. 10 minute wait before buffet ready. This store when opened started as a nice place to eat, Now it is dirty, disorganized and seems that manager is not interested in customer satisfaction. Very disappointed, was hoping that this store would continue to have pride. I loved Long John Silvers, not so much anymore. Please help this store, it is the only one close by.

Long John Silver's cold greasy food

For years I have had no issues with this restaurant. Butt today with new management or cook, I was served cold french fries, cold hush puppies, and refried crispy fish. An hour latter the taste of cold grease is still in my mouth. I don't mind waiting a few minutes for fresh hot food, but I despise cold food I wouldn't serve my dog.

Terrible food quality. Cole slaw was spoiled. My son was sick to his stomach. Returned to show manager quality of food item. Refused.to issue refund after the coke slaw was taken as evidence. Manager replaced it with corn on the cob sides and cokes. I didnt want a substitution for the spoiled food item due to the quality and bad experience the food had.caused, especially my son who got sick due to it. Terrible, spoiled testing expensive food, will never go again.

Purchase a family meal, cole slaw was bad, causing food poisoning. Had to return food to show the quality of food being sold. Instead of a refund, manager refused and replaced spoiled food with corn on the cob and cokes, when we didnt want that due to the quality of the food.

The manager was very nasty and unfriendly. There are flys all around the restaurant.
I believe there is rat feces on the women's room floor. Tables weren't clean. Very disgusting and disappointing. WILL NOT GO BACK AGAIN!

Stop by to eat and enjoy the cool dining room while we eat but the temp inside was so hot we left and got back inside our car. Also flies were everywhere landing on our food.

Long John Silver's poor service/incorrect order/45 minute wait

I stopped by this fast food chain to pick up dinner on our way to a softball game. We ordered two pieces of grilled chicken with a side as well as a fish meal. We had to place the order three times with three different representatives as none of them could figure out how to bring up a grilled chicken meal. We waited a significant amount of time 25minutes...then we were given a chicken sandwich and told but that's what they understood that we wanted. Although all three representatives including the manager on duty were instructed that we were ordering two pieces of grilled chicken. We proceeded to pull out of the drive through when my daughter noticed that there was no fish included. We then pulled back around and waited another 20 minutes until they were able to get the manager to come to the window and supply the missing items from our order! I will not be visiting this establishment again!

I went to Long John Silvers on Saddle Creek in Omaha, Nebraska and ordered extra shrimp and didnt receive the amount I ordered and I ordered onion rings and didnt receive them either. How come everytime I order food I always receive less not more. I will NEVER go back to Long John Silvers again because this is some B.S! PLEASE CONTACT ME AT sweetmoneyalexis@Aol.com

three different times in a three month period i get the same thing. two fish and more, one extra piece of fish, one corn...every time they forget something on the order...extra fish, or coleslaw, or the corn... it's always something that they forget...i bet if they were shorted on their check they be certain complain.

I went to the Long John Silvers at 71st and Memorial in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I ordered the family meal with 6 fish/2 chicken. What I got once I got home and checked the order - 2 fish/6 chicken. The kids were upset and I was frustrated. I did not go back to the restaurant since I had worked all day and the kids were cranky. NEVER take for granted the order is correct from this restaurant or any place for that matter.

We had same issue with Long John Silver in South Mall @ Smoky Hills & Main in Aurora Colorado. We ordered carry out four Fish tacos and got only three. When we called them first they refused to admit and once they agreed upon they said we are not going to credit your card, you have to be hear in the store to get another taco.. Very Rude Customer Service...Very Rude Manager if she was a manager (TOA REE.) May be she didn't like us becuase we were non -whites.

Seriously? You didn't check your order until you got home? And when you did FINALLY check it, you didn't call Long John's Silvers so they could try to make it right and send you coupons for free food next time. Seriously stop ### about such a minor mistake before you even give the fast food place a chance to make things right.

I would also like to add that I have never work fast food, but I have worked retail, and I am tired of seeing people who have had a bad day and think that means everyone else is out to get them.

Long John Silver's cooked me another order of food with same dirty grease

Today is 4/14/2015

I stop at Long John Silver/KFC in League City Parkway at 2660 E.
I order my food at 4:38 p.m.
The lead on duty gave me greasy food...look like it was just sitting in dirty grease. So I ask her for some fresh food because this looks old. My food was done at 5:00 pm...I didn't check my food again I just knew it was right . I check my food while I was at the light it look l the same problem burnt, dark brown and full of grease. She said the meal was 11.89 but charge me 12.35 on my card, also my fish was half done. I was looking forward to enjoy my dinner ...where I from which is Galveston we do not have a Long John. I wish I could get money back or something. All that grease gave me a migraine.

In this work place employee gets half cash money instead of full check just because employer don't has to pay tax to government, employee is not paying tax which is illege to work in united states, violation of rules. if employment agency see this commplain do take some action.

Long John Silver's nasty nasty store and unprofessional store manager

I used to work for Long John Silvers store # 31462 and I have to stay that is was one of the most poorly ran stores I have ever seen. I was an assistant manager until a few days ago. My store manager would CONSTANTLY borrow money from the drawers, the change fund and even the deposits. We had roaches so bad if you moved something they would scatter! They also just got a new oil from outside our regular vendor and had to create a GIN number. It was NASTY! It was a palm oil I believe and it made the entire store smell like hamburgers. ALL of the battered food was cooked in it and it also tasted like hamburgers. So disgusting! We had so many leaks in our celling and had to put buckets in the lobby to catch all the water. I had also watched my store manager drop frozen food on the floor, pick it back up and cook it. She would date the food several days out from the discard date instead of throwing it away like you are supposed to. The cooks didn't shake the food properly and it was ALWAYS greasy, food wasn't discarded after the hold timer went off. I should had walked out WAY sooner than I did! I will NEVER EVER again work for Estes Enterprise (Long John Silvers) again. I would highly suggest that people stay away from the store located at 21st and Amidion located in Wichita Ks!

Long John Silver's close of business

The long john silvers in pampa, texas has closed its doors.. I think it is a shame that the doors have closed. This ljs has been open about 35 years. I know for fact.. But u need to tear it down and build a new one. Suggestion: a & w rootbeer// ljs...
Over the past 10 years it hasn't been what it needed to be. 1. Wasn't clea at all!. 2. People that care for their job as well for the public. 3. Outside has looked worn out and unkept. I can't believe that ljs corporate mangers would not make visits to the store. If you couldn;t see what it looked like, or even the people you had working for you.. To keep a business running, you need to have people that care for each other as well the public. I believe if you would build a new one and start over from ground one it will work.. Pampa needs restaurants very badly. Please reconsider!
