Left money order before the end of the due date, around 2 o'clock on the 3rd.. In a week I get 2nd balance due notification (where is the first one?) with late fees. I called to leasing office and the staff were trying to tell me that they didn't get my money order until the late afternoon of the next day. They couldn't prove that my payment was late, and said that this time they will wave those fees (but only this time). They were lying saying that they got it from the night drop box, however I gave it to a person, leasing agent.. they are lairs and robbers.

This complaint only confirms what Ive grown to learn the hard way about Greystar managed properties. Our property in Houston was most recently acquired by Greystar for management. I had high hopes this would be an "improvement". In five years we have had 3 different management groups. Each worse than the last. Since they took over a couple of months ago, maintenance requests have gone from bad to worst, dogs are running rampant, the management team is all smiles and understanding while you're complaining but they dont do anything about the problem and you can forget notices about issues on the property. We have drug deals that take plan on the property and the only way we find out is thru word of mouth by off duty cops. You could complain for weeks about a maintenance request and each time its like its the first they have heard of it. And im not talking about minor problems (leaking faucet, running toilets). Those take months to be attended to. No im talking about serious problems like doors that wont lock due to foundation problems, locking residents out of their only access to their apartments forcing them to walk thru poop laden, muddy areas. What I have come to learn about management groups is, there is no integrity to the types of properties they will and will not manage. If its a buck to be had, they are going to get it. You can no longer look at the name of a property management and think either things are going to change OR this property has a standard because so-and -so only manages the best. Its all a crap shoot. What does this mean for the consumer? When looking for an apartment, talk to the residents, go on line to look for complaints, visit the property after hours and if they wont let you see the apartment you want to lease BEFORE hand, turn tail and run. There is a reason.
